I have taken a couple of trips to Goodwill already.
Trying to sort and organize first since trip to either is 20m or so, don’t want to waste gas in Calif.
Went thru that a couple of years back when I retired and we moved to Florida. It’s amazing how much “stuff” a family accumulates over the years. And then every throw away is a lost memory.
We ‘shifted’ some things after a water leak 3yrs ago, It never got shifted back and after the area of the leak was repaired, it somehow got filled with new stuff.
Amazing how it always happens like that.
Told my wife that we are taking pics of anything that is a good memory we want to keep. have a digital pic, toss the thing.
We sort of started that way but soon realized we weren’t getting rid of anything – everything had a fond memory. Now, we hadn’t looked at some of this stuff for years, yet it was difficult to toss.
We felt that way.
But when you are looking at the cost to move stuff to Idaho and the memories meet the wallet, it gets easier to dump stuff.
And that’s where we ended up too.
We have been in our house for 28 years.
I have all next week off, and we are recycling, donating and throwing out a lot of useless crap.
I want the cleanup after I die to be easier than it was with my Mom.
Good time to down size, just stay on top of it after move.

I remember trying to help her clean up under the house, some broken, dirty, rat infest crap. Took it to the dump, when I got back she said ‘I wanted to go thru that stuff first’.
I left it to her after that.
Just took a call from an irate customer because everyone in customer service decided to be gone today.
They ripped the receptionist to pieces, then got sent to me.
I ask, “What is the problem?”
Customer tells me.
“Okay,” I say and do a few seconds work on the computer. “Your problem is fixed now.”
“Thank you!” the customer says, now suddenly happy. “The people I talked to previously, wouldn’t help me at all!”
And all I can think is…what the hell is customer service doing then? Are they somehow wasting even more time on message boards than me?
At least you come to a nice and clean message board.

Evans should have been cut week 5 of last year. Guy is the worst I’ve even seen at playing jump balls or balls he should intercept, or at least knock down. Just terrible.
And then there was the winning TD catch in the Charger game that went thru his hands, hit him in the head and bounced up for the WR to grab it for a TD. Very hard to duplicate that.

Quite honestly, I think he singlehandedly lost the Vikings about 3 games.
I hate to crap on players but I can’t recall a DB ever having so much trouble just batting the ball down – that should be the easy part of playing the position.
Yeah, I remember he gave up a TD to a bengals WR when Blackmon stopped and watched because he thought it was an easy pick or knockdown with a floated pass with Evans nearby. Another TD from another game in the endzone was similar situation – I think Blackmon was already celebrating and of course, Evans let it be caught instead of getting a pick.

QotD: I used to have an eggs benedict burger on our menu at the restaurant we owned. It was a burger patty with an egg over easy and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin.

Usually when I go out to eat at a sit down restaurant, I don’t order a burger. I can make my own at home that are much better and cheaper. I don’t know the burger joints in the Cities, but around here the best burger joint is my house. Second might be The Milwaukee Burger Company. And interestingly enough, The Milwaukee Burger Company doesn’t have a restaurant in Milwaukee.
Been to Milwaukee burger company, and they are very good.
For those like me in the deep south (Farmington) – Gossips makes a good lucy. And the Bourbon Butcher makes great burgers.
I like Crooked Pint, since they have decent juicy lucy’s and a good beer selection.

I’ll agree with MBC just because of their specialty burgers. My favorite is the white Gouda Mac and cheese burger. I wish more restaurants would make specialty burgers.

Yeah I’ve only been there once or twice and I wasn’t that impressed with the wings either and the “talent” didn’t make up for the lack of quality in the food. I’m not sad we don’t have one here.
We even had a fund raiser (car wash) at one near Ft Hood, the waitresses even came out and ‘assisted’ a bit. Not actually washing cars but holding signs and getting people to stop. They seemed nice for the most part.
When I was stationed in Texas we had unit events, retirements, promotions etc.
The person being honored picked the venue and hooters was a popular choice by both male and female service members.
A few people had issues with it, or their wives did so they couldn’t/wouldn’t attend.
Never understood it as it was just a sports bar with waitresses wearing the famous T-shirts (not all wore wife-beaters).
It seemed more about reputation than the actual place.
I haven’t been a fan of McDee’s or any of the fast food burgers personally.
If I order a burger, it’s at a sit down menu restaurant. Or I make them myself.
I’m more of a chicken sandwich guy when I go out.
