I fired up the snowblower this morning and was clearing the two driveways. Choco #1 drops his chuckit ball on the snow right next to where I am clearing, so that when I come back on the next pass I have to stop and throw the ball. Choco #2 (the two year old) alternated walking next to me such that the stream of snow struck him in the face as he bit at it, and grabbing the back of my coat and trying to drag me away from the evil snow spitting machine. He was completely covered in snow, his eyes looked like piss holes in the snow.
I should add that #2 was out where the snow stream was coming back down to the ground. I wouldn’t let him right next to the chute so that he didn’t get his leg amputated or take a rock in the face.
I remember a Dalmatian was chasing water coming from a hose biting it and shaking his head.
Dumbest and funniest thing I have ever seen.
Fortunately both chocos like being hosed down, even in subzero temps, as they have a tendency to wander through mud and cow poo whenever possible. The younger choco also tries to bite the water stream.

I called my wife when I got to work, said the highway was super treacherous and she shouldn’t go out. She asked why when I got to the highway I didn’t just turn around and come home (I can read from home). I honestly didn’t even think of it, like “I gotta make it”. We were supposed to get 12-18 inches between yesterday morning and tomorrow mid-day. Supposedly getting an inch in the 3 o’clock hour (it’s 2:45 now) and there is still nothing on the ground. I’m ok with that but man, I wish I could be as wrong as a weatherman and not lose my job.
The forecast model I saw on the Wake Up Montana show (KULR) said 2-4″ in Billings.
I check on the NOAA site and they have 12-24 inches for us. That is a big range. They must be hedging their bets. But then again, they are government employees so it doesn’t matter how wrong they are they won’t be fired.

Yes, but Cochrane is actually funded by the NIH, so one would have suspected they would do analysis supporting the CDCs recommendations, instead they pretty much said there was 0 impact.

I also realize that at the start we had to error on the side of caution.
We should have pivoted away from them once it became obvious how little effect they had.

I did and already knew it’s cherry picked if not straight disinformation from the City Journal, a Manhattan conservative publication with a rating of being right biased. Not shocked they’re against masks or anything related to supporting public safety.

I know an infectious disease doctor and I’ve meet his team. They all wear N95 or respirators when seeing patients. They seem to get annoyed at the studies that suggest surgical masks will protect you from getting covid.
So if you want to protect yourself, a N95 is the way to go.
Now, what if you want to protect other?
A surgical mask will stop a lot of the viral particles from getting out into the air, but not all of them.
Problem is those that get our of the mask get aerosolized, and stays in the air for hours.
This is different than the Flu, which generally requires large droplets to literally get into your body.
Masks would work quite well against the flu, and initially they thought Covid transmission functioned in the same way. It doesn’t.

Exactly my point. As new science came out Fauci denounced anybody who asked questions, you know as you’re supposed to do. Science is about questioning but the exact opposite happened.
The other problem I had was that when it became evident cloth masks were worthless they turned to “wear an N95 or surgical mask if you can get one and especially if you are high risk for Covid.” Explain to me how the Feds can tell somebody, to wear one of those, especially high risk like oh, I don’t know, a respiratory issue, but an employer can’t have somebody wear that exact same mask without an annual health exam and fit test? So it’s ok for somebody with a compromised respiratory tract to wear one all day if the government says so, but a healthy person can’t wear one to protect themselves against other work related hazards because it’s not safe to do so? Either the government didn’t give two craps or the respiratory regulations in the work place are complete overreaching bull. Or the most likely is both and the lefties will continue to defend these ridiculous decrees so they will keep pushing and pushing in their social experiment to see how much freedom they can take from the people without major push back.

Dumb, the only way that makes sense and if this is what they are thinking they should just say it. Wearing a mask could signal that someone isn’t feeling well and a sign to stay away. But having everyone wear them takes away from that notion anyway.

When stationed in Korea long before CoVid I would see lots of people/kids wearing masks during the cold/flu season.

Eventually their rates started zooming up and they had the same problems with overtaxed health care. Makes me think that if you had a dread disease that in the worst case made your dick fall off that no matter how stringent the isolation, if it is spread airborne and prone to mutation you’re eventually gonna have a risk your dick will fall off.
