My shop finally reinstated Oct 1 CME reimbursement (there is a limit, don’t think it’s carte blanche) so I went ahead and booked a conference in Hawaii this winter (why do they have these conferences in such unpleasant places). OMG the cost of a flight and the rooms have literally doubled in the past five years. Might be shelling out some $$$ out of pocket.

No one lost their lives from refusing the vaccination. If you already had co morbidities that increased the affect covid had on you and were over a certain age, the vaccine wasnt changing anything. And there’s number that back that up, you wont see them on the news though.

If everybody was in your career field, your statement would make perfect sense. No bartenders or IT gurus were mandated to receive the vaccine, to the best of my knowledge. There are certain occupational fields where mandating vaccine makes perfect sense. You can’t run a hospital if all of the nursing staff are home sick, for example.

My mini-pin mix was tormented and abused by children his first two years before getting sent to a shelter. he is also part corgi, so nips at heels to herd. They responded by beating him.
Anyways, the little fucker hates kids, people, trucks, cars, any type of scooter, etc and will bark and lunge at things. I still give him two walks per day, since we both need the walks, but he is on a leash and at times I will pick him up to avoid the barking. I am his damned therapy human.

Had to do that at 53. Needed to cash out some equity to pay medical bills among other things. Completed a 30 year refi at a lower rate than we had been at.

Exactly. For example, some young couple with a couple of young kids wants to move out of their starter house, paid $200K for it in 2015 now might go for twice that. Only problem is the next big house is $800K now and mortgage rates have tripled. Does it make sense to drop your 2% rate and pick up a new mortgage?
If that young couple doesn’t move out, hard for new up and comers to get a starter home.

Wife was a little irascible last night, getting chilly out and still lots to do. They came and rolled out all the metal for the roof and wall exterior yesterday, putting the roof metal on right now. Next put in windows and door and then metal on walls, blow in spray foam, HVAC, plumbing…

That’s where we’re at. I wanted to move out of town by now but houses that were 500k are now a million. Yeah it’s great that I could get 375k for the house we paid 185k for 6 years ago but I don’t want to give up the 15 year at 2.7% to buy a double wide on 20 acres for 800k.

Best case is I figure out a way to buy a new place and keep the house we’re currently in to rent. Mortgage payment is $1500 a month and I could rent our place out for around $2200-$2300 a month easily. I’m taking donations if anybody is interested in helping me come up with the magical down payment for a new house.

Im so jacked. I got off work at 5 yesterday and went to the gym, it was about the 6th inning I think when I got there, bottom of 6? And I got on the treadmill and watched the game on my phone and told myself I wouldnt get off until the game was over. Ran when the game was on, walked during commercials….ended up running 5 miles and 550 calories my legs were on fire. I was yelling when they were stitching up Duran for like 10 minutes lol
