Colonoscopy Thursday at 7:15 AM. If you don’t hear from me again i’m a walking dead man. What a disgusting, invasive procedure.
That is good you are getting it done right away in the morning. Then you don’t have to go hungry as long.

Prep is the worst part. Amazing how good a cup of chicken broth tastes after clear liquid/clear jello diet for 24 hours….
Prep awful. Procedure has always been painless.
Yuck…had one when I was 50, I think I might ask about doing Cologuard instead.
Have home test kits i guess, not sure how good they are.
92% effective at finding cancer, but only 42 percent effective at finding precancer growths…13 percent false positive rate.
Not nearly as good as Colonoscopies, but since I have one totally clean Colonoscopy I may mix in a Cologuard and then push by Colonoscopy back a couple of years.

What I saw on Sunday was nowhere close to MVP of anything. He’s playing sufficient, that is all.
Yes, his stock dropped in that game, for me.
Let’s see how he does when the defense doesn’t get 3 TOs and the team needs him to make some plays.
One game against a talented defense.
Every player – even Brady and Mahomes – has less that stellar days.
Thru five games, he’s playing top level as a QB and is in the running for MVP. Far better than sufficient.
Through 5 games, he is:
13th in passing yards
6th in yards per attempt (of players with more than 2 attempts)
27th in completion percentage
2nd in passing TDs
23rd in interceptions
I’ll take the second in TD’s.
Let’s win the SB this year and worry about your boy next.

Just a hypothetical to try and start some sort of conversation. I’m happy with how Sam has been playing overall and don’t think we could have expected much more but I also don’t think it’s MVP level.

Perhaps tomorrow we can talk some about high risk throws versus conservative ones. Was discussed last week and we can flush out perhaps better.

I’ve seen more head-scratching misses than high risk throws. Not sure if it’s been a matter of pressure, receiver doing something he wasn’t expecting, or just being off for a few series.
But when he’s ON, his high risk throws aren’t nearly as high risk.
Drake Maye and JJ were the 2 QBs I wanted…seems like I misjudged the kid in Washington.
I wanted Daniels, Maye, then Bo Nix. In that order.

Just watching Cards vs 49ers highlights, and apparently the 9ers tried to convert a 4th and 23 while in FG range, at the Cards’ 30 yard line, and failed.
They led by 10 at that point in the game, why on earth would you try to convert in such a situation? Head scratcher, for me at least (without context about the ebb and flow of that game, of course, but still).

Just wait until those people saying that see the rest of the schedule for the Vikings. Based on current records, I think the Vikings have something like the 3rd easiest remaining schedule.
Ecxellent. We played a pretty demanding schedule to start the season, came out 5-0. Beat the Kitties after the bye, and then let’s roll. I think this team won’t underestimate any opponent (I hope, at least).
If they keep playing like they did to start the season (minus the 2nd half offensive slumps the last two games), this team could go very far (#nojinx).
If they can beat the kitties out of the bye, they will be looking pretty good for awhile.
If Lions pass defense is like last year’s. they can’t stop our offensive passing game.
Geno went 38/56 for 395 yards on them last week. As long as Jones is back, even without Hockenson, I like our chances. Add Hock in the mix and it should be a good game.
Hell even Mullens put up over 800 yards last year against them. We didn’t have a running game, and if he hadn’t thrown SIX Int’s we’d have won both.
And our defense wasn’t very good either.
Only saw one Lions game so far, they didn’t look particularly impressive vs the Cardinals. Got lucky to win that game, Goff pick 6 got called back because 2 minute warning, that iffy call saved them.
But divisional games are different, I’m sure they’ll try everything to win at the Bank. They almost have to if they want a shot at the division if we keep playing like we did the first games.
Would be huge to win that game, indeed. You almost have to if you are aiming for the top seed. No pressure.

My father died last night of cardiac arrest at the age of 71. He was a very principled man and as a result could be difficult, uncompromising, and overbearing, but he was also kind and loving when needed, particularly with his grandchildren, whom he really enjoyed spoiling, often to the frustration of their parents. My favorite memories are of him taking me to wrestling tournaments as a kid just him and I, getting to take two weeks off from school in Junior HIgh and HS to help him during lambing season on the ranch, again just him and I, and later in life, sitting out on the patio having some drinks talking about life, marriage, parenthood, etc. I will miss him a great deal, and am sad my daughters won’t get to have him around for more of their lives, but as they say, father time is undefeated, RIP Dad.

Skoloholics Pick ‘Em League Week #5
What an incredible comeback by the kid (me)! My picks were trash last week, pushing me all the way to the bottom rung of the ladder overall. Then with some gritty eye-of-the-tiger panache, I came in third place with this weeks’ picks, erasing the stink of suck.
Aaaaaaaaaand, I’m still in last place overall…
What the heck guys? For a bunch of avowed socialists, you just don’t seem to grasp the system. Those with an abundance of points are supposed to give them up to enable people like me to get to the same level. You just wait until Kamala is in charge. I am going to inform on you so hard. Have fun in the re-education camps, dissidents!
Meanwhile, NoDakRube and JacksonVike are pretty close in the 8 & 9 spots. JacksonVike is holding NoDak off with Minnesota nice by only being ahead six points, but he needs to be careful. Those North Dakotans are basically feral people.
I’d rather be fishing, DE Viking and Kirk is still good are clumped together in the 5-7 spots. Only five points separates their little friendship group. You might all be holding hands and singing Kumbaya with KOC as their conductor, but you can bet they will go all Aaron Rodgers on each other the first chance they get and fire someone.
Bowbunch is kind of floating in no man’s land at number 4. He’s just out there in his hunting blind, waiting for an elk to pass by, biding his time until he strikes silently from the shadows like a silently striking shadow bider of time.
Alas, the stalwart of stability has slipped a notch. After sitting in second place continually, Freezy slides to number 3. I do not feel good about this. It is like I have discovered a basic life truth is not true, and my whole life is a lie. Now I have nothing left to cling to but the United States voting process.
Finally, Surly Viking and Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold are slugging it out in the top spots. They look down from their ivory tower at everyone beneath them and swig IPAs from the skulls of the opponents the Vikings crushed on their way to 5-0.
Iconoclast pick of the week goes to Kirk is still good for picking the Jets over the Vikings. He is the only one who did that. Perhaps it was a shrewd gamble, as Rodgers could have very well led the Jets to the endzone on the last drive. Then everyone else would have lost big points and Kirk is still good would have netted a couple of points. But, that did not happen.
Genius pick of the week goes to Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold. He is the only one who got Miami over New England right.
Garbage teams we hate go to San Francisco and Seattle. They burned everyone by losing their games.
Winning teams that made us happy pickers were Washington and KC. Everyone got those games right.
Annoying thing of the week: Kirk Cousins continues to dominate prime-time games and burns all those who dare defy him by picking against him. Bite me, Kirk!
