Current Vikings 53 man roster
Vikings roster cuts spotlight the shitbox 2022 draft, Kwesi may suck, but at least he’s admitting it quickly
From Will Ragatz, one of the best current Vikings beat reporters, 5 takeaways from the 53 roster
NFL NEWS
A bunch of other teams cut players, several will end up on the Vikings 53 roster or practice squad
Question of the Day
What position group is going to undergo the most change over the next couple days when the Vikings will inevitably add other players? My guess is interior oline, as it still sucks.

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Trevor Lawrence is the only QB from the 2021 NFL Draft still in a starter role.
I remember that draft and saying Fields will be meh at best, Mac Jones was ass (Lifer and Mick said he was HOF bound), Lance would drafted way to high as he played essentially one year of JV college football and wasn’t even that great, and if Wilson went to the right place he could be decent but was likely to suck. Lawrence has been good, not worth the contract he just signed, but has not lived up to the “generational” talent hype.
Yeah, Five labeled Lawrence the young GOAT. So far, he’s experienced a pretty normal growth curve in the NFL though. I do expect him to finally have a great year this season. Lawrence had an impressive, record setting, High School career, and of course won a National Championship with Clemson, as a freshman. So folks expected him to be a “winner” in the NFL immediately. Just doesn’t work that way though.
LOL, yeah five, I miss him. I’ve always called Lawrence Fabio’s son, he’s been good not great, also beat to shit behind a horrible oline so far, but he could take another step this season. He also had a joke of HC his first season with Urban Meyer. The rest of that draft class is complete crap though. Kind of reminds me of this years QB class.
Laughing… yeah, Fabio’s son has suffered some trevails, but going through adversity is good for him. He’s shown me he’s not just a pretty face.
OK, I read this, and it only makes me feel worse…
McCarthy is the first quarterback drafted in the top 10 during the Super Bowl era (since 1967) to miss his entire rookie season due to an injury, according to NFL Research.
…and soon to be multiple time Super Bowl winning kicker
He looks like he could be really good at darts….
Kind of looks like…..

What the hell is insurance these day? I live in minny. Mine went up about 50%! With a clean record. Read insurance is the highest in country here.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs
I blame Canada.
What a piece of shit, not only did he desert his soldiers as they were set to deploy, he lied and implied he saw combat. That is as bad as an NCO as I can think of.
Just unburdening him from what has been.
Birthday boy what the hell are you still doing at work?
I was planning on leaving and had an unexpected visitor show up and now got tied into a conference call.
More in line with the visitors Skol and MT were talking about yesterday.
Yes Comrade.
Not to worry, those prices won’t last too long.
Minn auto insurance it projected to go up another 61% next year.

Cine was only signed to the PS.
I don’t think the NYJ are all that high on him.
Wonder what the contract language is. If we have to pay him a dime it’s a huge bust.
The Vikings are on the hook for his entire salary.
$5 million.
Since he cleared waivers, there is no benefit on his dead cap hit to the Vikings.
Greg the leg cut by the Pukers.
They are stressing out about their special teams and kicking game on the NFL subreddit, it bring me joy.
Yes.
They signed someone I never heard of as their kicker.
Guaranteed we’ve jinxed it and he will be a 1st ballot HOFer.
Well with that attitude
So you are saying that Vikings fans are the reason for the Pukers success?
Looks like the Supreme Court handed down a decision to not reinstate President Joe Biden’s federal student loan forgiveness plan.
“In a brief order, the High Court denied an emergency request filed by the Biden administration to lift a nationwide injunction on the plan that was put in place by a federal appeals court this year.”
Trying to buy votes with our tax dollars… shame on you Democrats.
It is awful.
Of course Trump is trying to nail down the senior vote by saying no taxes on social security…not sure how I feel about that.
So you pay into Social Security your whole life, and then get taxed on it. I don’t think that’s right. You’re taxed on the income that goes into Social Security, then taxed on it again?
Can blame Reagan and bi-partisan Congress vote in ’84. Fuckers.
Also include Clinton and the dems….
When the government got involved in paying for Medical care, medical costs skyrocketed….
When the government got involved in paying for college educations, tuition skyrocketed…..
When the government gets involved in subsidizing housing, housing costs will skyrocket…..
This isn’t a hard pattern to notice.
Exactly correct.
Before Obamacare, a family policy was under $10,000 a year. And people believed the nonsense about this lowering costs.
Now a family policy at my work is almost $30,000 a year.
COLA doesn’t keep up and they tax the piss out of you. Great system.
So I hate social security…wish it would have never come into being…that being said, you are not taxed on the income that goes into Social Security, that is removed from your wages prior to taxes. So technically, when you receive your SS benefits you are receiving income that has not yet been taxed.
I am not saying I am against the plan, it just gives me pause.
Sorry, no.
Your entire wage is taxed.
SS is deducted from your gross wage.
No, you don’t pay income tax on the money you pay into Social Security. The contributions you make to Social Security through payroll taxes are not considered taxable income at the time they are deducted from your paycheck.
From the internet so you know its true.
You are correct. But they have all my money for all those years, and pay me absolutely nothing for it, isn’t that an indirect tax?
It sure enough is…they would counter that you are likely going to get out more than you put in…so no its not an indirect tax…and then I would counter I could have made a lot more just investing the money on my own…so its a huge indirect tax.
Yes, it is an indirect tax, and SS is a basic ponzi scheme. People that work, are paying the retired people a stipend. Once there are too many old people and not enough workers, shit will get ugly fast.
Another neat trick. Life expectancy was 65, so that is the age they decided upon paying out benefits.
Government is a hell of a con.
I don’t agree with that take.
The only way they get and take that money from you is by imposing a tax on your wage.
If you make $100,000, you get $6,200 deducted from your pay. And you get taxed on the full $100,000, not $93,800, which includes the $6,200 you sent to SSA.
so you had the $6,200 deducted and taxed from you, and then you pay tax on it when you claim SS. That’s double taxation in my book.
I believe you pay income tax on the 92,350
Then any tax proposal by a candidate is the same as buying votes.
I’m not sure I agree with your take.
And sometimes a tax decrease is actually good fiscal policy
I would say most times, unless of course there is almost no taxes to begin with.
And maybe the tax credits that go to companies like GE for their ‘green initiatives.’
Seems like the SC is the only part of the current government that works well.
Even considering that ‘legal does not mean logical’.
No wonder the woke want to change it.
Happy Bday Bow! Skol brotha! To a bright Vikings future!
going to throw down a hundred on the SB winner. Thinking of taking the Bengals at +1500….Whatcha guys think?
MN 2025
That would be a juicy pay out and not completely unrealistic. Im unsure how their defense and run game is going to look. But if Joey Burrrr is healthy and Chase is back that offense should hum.
Not a bad choice.
I’d have to see the other lines to say do it.
Well, I have until Saturday to place the bet…so will see if it gets done.
i just wanted to remind everyone out of the 10 or 11 “happy birthday’s” that bowbunch got today…

https://www.vikings.com/news/2024-practice-squad-sign-17-players
Soooooooooooooooooo……….pretty much the team before.
Sometimes the grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence.
The secret to a fulfilled life is learning to love what you have.
Yep.
We going to roll with this roster.
I’m not excited at all.
It’s not like these guys are guaranteed for the season and no more moves will be made. Gotta put somebody on the practice squad while you talk to other players.
Yeah, there will be more movement.
Was hoping for an impact signing.
I don’t see any.
To be fair, they did that with Gilmore.
They did.
I was thinking about that.
I was just being a bit more condensed in the cut down day timeframe.
Guess they like who they had and felt it was better to have players they knew.
Reportedly this is how are PS looks currently.
The current practice squad for the Vikings is as follows:
Edge Andre Carter IIRB Myles GaskinTE N’Keal HarryWR Lucky JacksonWR Jeshaun JonesDB Bobby McCainEdge Bo RichterOL Tyrese RobinsonWR Thayer ThomasTE Robert TonyanCB Jaylin WilliamsDL Jonah WilliamsCB Nahshon Wright
Glad to see some of those names. A few more to go.
Three to go. Pretty good so far.
Nobody to throw the ball to the TE’s and WR’s.
Thank you.
this is like, everyone already on the team, BORING
Yep.
And apparently, no waiver claims were made.
KOC and Kwesi so cocky. acting like they are all the players they wanted all along…
well if they were…they wouldn’t have even cut them…
They had to cut somebody.
But yeah, seems “weird” to just keep all of the same guys.
i was being facetious about the cutting…
but yeah, don’t be weird, Kwesi
LOL.
Ok. I keep forgetting to take nothing you post seriously.
The Patriots are releasing WR Jalen Reagor.
The list of teams bailing on him is getting long and distinguished.
That’s a cute cat.
If none of you have ever seen any of these they are incredible. They have drummers play songs they have never heard before. Any Zeppelin fans around here? This is incredible. Lots of these videos and just fascinating watching how they all approach these.
Worth the watch and gets me really excited for next season. JJ is going to be the truth and not get rattled after he makes mistakes, which is what great QBs do, not just good.
Laughing…
Im glad you’re laughing at the franchises future and good video break down of him (something you would actually be interested in). You’re a great Vikings fan with a great attitude, love it.
I’m laughing at you…
Becauuuse?
You’re laughable… of course.
I would love for you to explain, I know you think you’re being coy but you really aren’t.
Your commentary is inane. That’s pretty much it.
Its an insane statement that Great QBs dont get rattled after making mistakes? And thats usually what separates good from great? Alright man.
Laughing… look at you trying to be all innocent now…
I literally dont know what hell you are on about.
Laughing… you never do.
And yet I’m the insane one.
I said inane.. you can’t even read…
Multitasking old man, typing up a storm and making phone calls. The only thing inane here is your is your “I’m the smartest guy in this room and any other room with 4 walls because I worked for the Government” attitude. Believe it or not there’s others here that don’t take you seriously either and its not just me.
You are defensive… hmmm
And you are insufferable.
Ahhhh… sorry I hurt your feelings.
Kfey. You and I, and a hell of a lot of others, have little idea of the mistakes that happen all the field. QB completes a 10 yard out but later on film had a seam route for 15. Mistake?
Depends on if the QB can grill or not.
What are you talking about? Im saying in general, from a pure body language and end results stand point, what separated the good QBs from the great QBs in the past 20+ years (and probably history of the league but I wasnt around for all of it) was how they respond when things go south, they throw a pick, they get hit, etc. Is they go back out the next drive like it never happened and continue to make good throws and lead the team. Thats it, thats all I said. Nothing about 10 yard outs and 15 yard seems. Idk what you and NLNVF are on.
That’s the VISABLE pereceived mistakes you (and I ) see.
And I’m not talking about you and NLV’s little tit for tat.
And, this is my opinion based on a little more than 20 years. Qb’s, baseball pitchers, basketball players, react quite different outwardly to mistakes, problems etc. Some guy who acts like he doesn’t give a shit, may be burning up inside. Some guy may throw and interception and get really pissed. Another, miss a blocking read and he is really pissed.
All this pscho mombo jumbo from announces is bullshit – they aren’t in the athlete’s head.
So, if you don’t want to acknowledge, understand, or believe what I was tryiing to tell you, that is perfectly fine.
You’re deep diving a simple comment that didn’t warrant it and your losing the forest through the trees. All you have to say is yes, great QBs tend to rebound better after making a mistakes, poorer QBs dont, and move on. Thats it.
But that’s not true. Great QB’s, ball players, whatever, may bounce back to different degrees in different ways. How soon you bounce back is not the measure of whether you are great or not.
And poor QB’s are poor QB’s because they are poor at their job.
And you don’t have ‘to say’ anything. I don’t thin k you understand what I’m talking about.
Because you choose to believe in a winner instead of somebody who’s never won anything.
Laughing
That makes no sense.
Just from reading around here for a while NLVF seems like quite a winner. At least pretty darn impressive to me.
It’s your birthday. Give love and expect love.
It’s Vikings kumbyah.
I guess so. He’s hit full delirium just laughing at nothing at this point.
Laughing at nothing.. yes, you fit the bill.
OK sorry KFEY, you just tickle me with shit you say sometimes.
Im not sure being tickled by shit is a good thing
To each his own.
When will people ever learn that. That’s why they make blue cars and red cars.
Red cars are disproportionately involved in more accidents so should therefore be banned.
Blue and green then – and gray maybe.
I see you are too narrow minded to actually understand the comment.
“the shit you say”.
This is why you aren’t taken seriously. You are inane in your commentary.
I see your sarcasm meter is busted. Among other things.
Oh sarcasm? No, I’d say more like sardonic.
JJ is a super easy guy to root for.
1000% love his energy and work ethic
Well, as long as he works on Tuesdays…
He doesn’t stop training and he isn’t going to stop winning championships.
I hope he doesn’t get rattled after a mistake…you are right, great QBs don’t get rattled after a mistake…Cousins is a great QB…
This post isnt about Cousins, dont make it one.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
“Steelers have made their decision and Russell Wilson will be the starter for Week 1″.
Thought that was the plan all along, right?
In other shocking news Red Firetrucks are… RED!
Thought many are yellow now. Red is too aggressive a color.
Can’t you get ‘red solo cups’ in multiple colors?
Lewis Cine is signing with the J-E-T-S
TE Robert Tonyan signed with the Vikings’ practice squad.
I have heard you can never have too many TEs.
Kind of like CBs that way.
He could break out this year…..
RIP Irv’ NFL breakout.
Did not have a successful claim or did not put in a claim??
Now some GM will take a chance on a former first rounder.
Related???
Good eye.
Wow. To my eye he looks female and she looks somewhat manly.
Both of them give me the ‘ick’.
@Great pick, Queasy@
Very odd that there was no interest in him in a trade or off the waiver wire. First round picks usually garner at least a little interest.
You think he was worth $5 million dollars based on his NFL career body of work to date?
Laughing… since when does what I think matter?
Two words for you…
Jalen Reagor
Saleh is a very good defensive coach. Be interesting to see how this plays out.
who’s the better defensive mind, in your opion…
Saleh or Flores?
Hmmm, that’s a great question Freezey
i mean if Saleh can get something out of Cine, more power to him…
but IMO if Flores can’t make it work, it’s probably broken.
Sometimes, actually many times, it’s a lot more than the X’s and O’s
Well Saleh got to a SB but he has had a lot of talent.
I like aggressive defense but think Flores’ is a little too much.
And this also goes against current thinking, but Ilke a 4-3 set better.
Jets are getting him pretty cheap.
Easier to take a chance that way.
Of course it cost us money either way.
We have talked before and noted all his physical skills, short on mental side some. Sometimes just a change in coaching can overcome that.
‘coaching can overcome that’
I guess if they get him into as simple scheme/role where he doesn’t have to think too much they they can mitigate him being ‘short on mental side’.
Or maybe it’s as simple as someone else just says something slightly different and it clicks.
We used to experience that in the NBC course when teaching Fallout Prediction.
For people who struggled we offered a flow chart.
For some people that worked, for others it made it worse.
Good News!!
I cannot read the words Good News without thinking of:
i like that many vikings fans will think he had other offers but wanted to stay because of the great culture kwesi has here when in reality its probably because the offers weren’t much more and it would be annoying to pack up and move and deal with all that
I heard it was because at the AF Academy they had 800 thread count sheets and KAM promised him he’d pick up a set the next time he goes to Costco.
KOC did state that he and KOC were going to sit down with each player that they had to cut and ‘talk it out’ with them.
That level of personnal involvement has to leave a positive impression. I can see coming back to a place you trust.
His comments come about 2m into this video.
KOC and KOC are really smart
Gone are the days of Parcells, Ditka, and Zimmer.
Nwangwu claimed by the Saints.
@Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!@
Dilemma – a couple years back I signed up for the DN fantasy football league. Problem was they have it through Yahoo, and I hate the web format. I didn’t want to play last year, but there are no “I’m Not Playing” buttons to click, so I ended up half-assing it last year.
Last year and this year I got emails saying when the draft was scheduled, but again, no options to opt out.
I tried logging in to DN this year to tell them I’m not playing, but can’t remember my password, and I’m being really lazy and don’t want to create a new one just to quit a free FF league, but I don’t want to be “that guy” and leave them hanging either. Plus, they’ll be angry if I ghost them with Justin Jefferson on my roster.
Want me to tell them you aren’t playing?
If you happen to wander over there, sure.
Sounds like a “them” problem and not a “you” problem. haha
There isn’t a ‘manager’ to e-mail and explain the situation.
I have no doubt he can remove you and find someone else over there willing to take your place/team.
These idiots now believe that getting Dobby back would be ‘Dream Scenario’ for us??
https://fansided.com/posts/vikings-dream-scenario-at-qb-josh-dobbs-trade
“idiots” is right. WTH
Well, if you recall, KOC said they “thoroughly researched” him, and targeted him when Cousins went down. Then after the first game, KOC had everyone clap and welcome their new “leader”.
Folks can be wrong about things.
Yes they thought he would be a good short term, emergency fix that was available in the 2-3 days that they had before the trade deadline and cheap. He was all of that for a couple of games.
They never said anything about ‘long term fix’ or QBOTF as you like to imply.
Ummm that wasn’t the impression I got from listening to KOC. He literally said to the team in the locker room after that first game “Everybody needs to welcome our new leader”. That’s not a short term, quick fix comment.
KOC went on and on in an interview about how they had researched Dobbs… basically patting himself on the back for bringing him in.
I believe you are inferring from what they did not imply.
Positive spin on a bad situation is what coaches, managers, politicians do.
Given the QB situation at the time he was a leader.
I don’t see that I’m inferring anything from whatever… but that’s your take. KOC said they researched Dobbs thoroughly before bringing him in, then announced him as the team leader immediately after the first game, in the locker room.
I guess that implies nothing, huh?
Not nothing, no. But not all that you are giving it credence for. Given he had 2 days between KC lost for the season and the Trade Deadline so it was all an emergency situation he did well.
It was not like the Sam Darnold situation where he had months to settle on a QB.
Never say things like we “thoroughly researched” a player when you didn’t, and don’t anoint a team leader on the spur of the moment.
Simple – KOC screwed up.
Given the amount of time that they had I though he did the best he could.
Mullins injured, KC out for the season, then Hall going down mid game, just prior to the trade deadline.
I thought Dobby was a bad pick. We run a sophisticated offense requiring the QB to ‘win’ from the pocket. That ain’t Dobbs.
Now, Dobbs played well second half in Atlanta and first half against Saints.
And I thought KOC should have pulled him after first half against Bears and then not all against Raiders.
Still, it is always tough for a coach when you lose your starting QB
So of all the QBs that they could have gotten during those two days who would you have picked up that was a better option?
I agree that he was not managed very well after the first two games.
Yes Sir. That guy Flacco would have been a much better selection to me.
Don’t know enough about Flacco’s situation/cost/avaliablitity during those 2 days to have a comment.
You might be right.
He was on Cleveland’s PS.
It would have cost them more money to get him than Dobbs. Unless you value a 6th round pick more expensive than $4 million dollars.
the question was who they could have gotten? Dobbs was starting for Cardinals. I have no idea who was ‘cheaper’ but that wasn’t the question as well as a better fit for us.
Well if it’s just whoever you want, they could have traded for Mahomes.
Nice – back to the extremes again. No sense trying to be reasonable.
You just threw out my possible reason for why they didn’t attempt signing Flacco.
If price wasn’t an option for Flacco, in theory they could have gone after anybody.
Of course it wasn’t realistic to get Mahomes.
But I’m not sure Flacco was realistic either given KAM’s GM style.
OK. This simply started over Dobbs. But it seems Flacco as a pocket guy would have been a better fit.
And Flacco did damn good for the Browns. but ha, that’s hidnsight by me.
The question was ‘who was a better option’.
Cost, availability, fit, athletic ability, smarts, experience, all figure into that.
Team fit is more than just scheme fit.
Joe Flacco was better option than Dobbs – in my opinion.
Flacco was a free agent wasn’t he? Maybe they grabbed Dobbs because the trade deadline was looming and were going to look at Flacco if needed but he signed with somebody else first.
Well to me – Flacco/Dobbs is a simple choice. But I don’t make the money KOC does.
I don’t know if Flacco would have been better or not.
I am saying that given the situation Dobby was a good choice for an emergency, short term starter.
That it wasn’t handled well long term or that KOC shouldn’t have tried to rally the team around him are different arguments IMHO.
That’s not the point. The point is, KOC told everyone they thoroughly researched Dobbs before they brought him in, and anointed him the leader of the team right after the first game in the locker room.
This from a former QB who should know whether a player is a good fit for your offense and can run it, and that leaders are never appointed.
So you are upset that KOC talked up his QB (only one he had at that point) to the team in the locker room after an emotional win.
@Shame on KOC.@
You do realize that it’s the coach’s job to motivate the team and to some extent the fans right?
I mean, would you expect him to say,
“Dobbs sucks, but it’s our best option”
‘“Dobbs sucks, but it’s our best option”’
Only option at that point in time.
Teams know… when a coach says things they know are untrue, it doesn’t motivate them. Trust relationships are important.
They looked pretty pumped up in the video.
Is this like saying “it’s not about the money”, but then leaving for the most money?
That was true, and the players knew it.
Cousins left because KAM was only interested in keeping him for a year, and wanted to be able to trade him. As I said, the players knew that. The fact you don’t get it, is kind of ridiculous. You seem well educated.
Good God! NLV is talking about a coach talking to his team and you pull Cousins into it.
I may not agree with NLV on this, but WTH.
Next year is going to be the start of something great.
now i am back to having a sad
1st day of school is tough.
The Teacher dealt with that drama every year.
Just be happy about how bright the future is. Great things are on the horizon for once. No more mediocrity.
Assuming he doesn’t get injured. Again.
2 quarters of preseason and he’s out for the year.
SMFH
Durability is greatly under appreciated at this position.
@must not mention the rate of retear of a medial meniscus repair within 18 months of surgery@
as many as 36.4% of people who undergo medial meniscus surgery will re-tear their medial meniscus. The risk of re-tearing the lateral meniscus is much lower.
This is not encouraging.
Medial meniscus tears are a bitch. A simple little ring that can cause so much pain.
36% after a year, 59% after 8 years.
So basically, it’s going to tear again during his NFL career.
i can be as happy or sad as i want WHENEVER I WANT…
that being said, i’m obviously in the ready to jump in and be hurt stage, per normal.
For sure was. Even the Darnold mic’d up video makes more mention to JJ’s good throws than Sam’s. Still rooting for Sam (no choice), but huge damper on the season.
https://www.vikings.com/video/sam-darnold-mic-d-up-at-training-camp-practice
While that is nice, I really was looking forward to JJ coming in and saving the season this year.
I hope Sam does well. I am still a skeptic, but if by the end of September things are looking good, I will drink the kool-aid yet again.
I’m going to a concert in Minneapolis the Saturday before the Lions game. I will of course be excited if the Vikings are doing well… if not, tickets gonna be cheap hopefully lol.
Well, it’s noon EST, teams can legally start signing PS players now off waivers.
Schefter says Bobby McCain and Myles Gaskin are re-signing with the Vikings.
Only 14 more t go.
Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple days. I wonder if anyone on the 53 man roster gets replaced. It normally happens.
I think they are going to go for a player or two.
RB addition is one that is needed.
Since they’re bringing back Myles Gaskin, that helps. Still think another good RB is needed though.
What for – we don’t run the ball anyways.
Injury insurance.
Better to have an extra RB dressed on game day and not need him than to need one and not have one ready.
Na. If a RB gets hurt just put a TE back there to pass block.
Guess that could work as an emergency back up.
Next game they could pull whomever is on the practice squad.
A day after visiting with the Cowboys, veteran RB Dalvin Cook is signing with the club’s practice squad, according to sources. Tuesday’s workout went well and Cook was in good shape. He can be called up from the PS and play Week 1 if needed.
Vet minimum?
Seems fair for a PS guy.
Good opportunity for him, too. Not a lot there on the roster at RB.
Yea, Zeke is more over the hill than he is.
The Teacher has the Replacement Blinds guy coming today to give her and estimate.
10 windows, 2 skylights, and a sliding glass door.
She knows what she wants and knows what he will try to talk her into, she has been mentally preparing for this.
I will be in the garage while they ‘work it out’, just have to know how much I have to pay for it all.
Yup, she priced the blinds at about $500 at Home Depot but that does not include installation.
Our realtor/friend gave us a recommendation with a 20% off discount to this place so we know they do good work (friend has not steered us wrong yet) and hopefully the instal won’t be too painful.
I used to install blinds as a side job. It’s super easy overall. I recently went with Home Depot blinds and they have worked out really well…much higher quality than what you’ll find at some other places.
The Teacher has been ‘all over this’ since we bought the place in 2020. She decided to wait until we moved in. She plans to listen to this guy as he was recommended, but not locked on this company doing the work.
She has been pricing/comparing/researching hard the last 2 months, all measurements completed. I am going to stand back and let her work the issues. She knows what she wants.
She has installed her own at previous houses and decided that she (meaning me) will pay to have it done this time. While I am pretty clueless on the topic.
It’s only money. Spend some and help the economy. Besides they’ll cost a lot more next year
We are already discussing what we need to get if Cackles wins.
A stand alone freezer full of meat?
Long shelf life food?
More home protection/security?
Start buying freeze dried food or just buy a freeze dryer and start making your own.
Agreed. Self sufficiency will be vital.
You might want to scope out banks to rob.
If the value of your house goes up, you have to pay the tax.
#protip
Well since that Unrealized Gains Tax will only apply to people worth $100M (until they start lowering it) I think we will be safe for a little while longer.
We don’t make Gouger Money here.
Don’t believe that for a minute. There simply aren’t enough 100 plus million people. And those that are have enough lawyers and accountants to beat it.
Uncle Sam wants you!
They will absolutely use the ‘Camels nose under the tent’ method.
They will start at $100M and once it is passed and working they will continue it lower it until they have enough money.
*and they will never have enough money*
I’m also interested in how they will find the people worth $100 large or more. Are you going to have to have all the items in your home audited? Land and rentals? I can see some old fella with a Honus Wagner baseball card on the mantle, couple of thousand acres of Iowa cropland, maybe a case of 1945 Romanée-Conti in the root cellar.
My question is what is considered a ‘gain’?
Bought this house in 2020 and it shot up, it has stabilized the last couple of years?
So is it from now? When the law is passed? From when we bought the house?
More question than answers at this point.
Can’t be for principal residence.
Why do you think that?
First they would be completely based on local real estate taxes. And every county does it differently. And then many states have rules about how much the value can go up yearly. For example, in Florida for your principle residence the value can only go up 3% per year even if the county overall had a 12% increase. and how long you’ve had the home matters also.
You could. have two identical homes in same neighborhood with two wildly different property values.
Well, that’s now how it is currently calculated.
When you sell your home, it is calculated by what you paid for it, and what you sold it for.
It is currently not based on any assessed value by a county.
It’s based on the actual gain or loss.
I assume it would follow this same model.
But the challenge is, who gets to value that property.
It will be a clusterfu** to determine what gets used to value a home, no doubt. That hasn’t stopped them from passing tax laws in the past.
I don’t think it would ever be based on the county’s assessed value.
I thought the question was for an unrealized gain if your home value goes up one year to next. Other than county taxes, where else would this value come from?
And since you’re a tax CPA, aren’t there tax laws that protect homeowners from so much gain on principal resident. Idea being I think easiest way for people to create wealth. If they start taxing it yearly, it blows that thinking up.
The base would be what you paid for the house.
Currently, when you sell your house, you are supposed to report that sale on your tax return. It is a capital gains tax.
If you are single, any gain of $250,000 or less is not taxable. Any gain in excess of $250,000 is taxable.
If you are MFJ, it’s up to a $500,000 threshold.
Currently, there is NO county assessment used to calculate this for the IRS. It’s what you paid versus what you sold it for.
I’m just pointing out that I highly doubt it would be based on assessed values. It’s a disaster of a proposal, but that hasn’t stopped politicians from making bad tax law.
I wouldn’t assume your home would excluded from the Harris proposal.
It is a disaster and we all better watch out. Except maybe the 50 % who pay nothing now.
Well, if the law is based on unrealized gains, my guess is it would be from year to year.
But given how they write tax law, you know it will be a clusterfu** and you will have to pay even more to your CPA to figure it out.
Hell is she wins, and she just may, we are all going to end up in indocriinatioin school.
We are hoping Idaho resists the socialist changes longer than most.
It certainly will longer than Commifornia.
Waking up in the camp every morning being forced to chant “Go Pack Go”.
Well then there’s. ” Oh Hillary you are so beautiful.”
Smart woman and smart man.
You are half right.
She is a smart woman, except in her choice of men of course.
Happy Hump Day!
Bring Dalvin back!
Creed was such a funny addition to that show
My favorite character. Just every line he said had to count with so few of them.
No.
The Vikings are carrying $3 million in dead cap space from Dalvin this year.
Daaaaag, that’s sad.
I was trying to use sarcasm font.
Hmmmm… Minnesota as well?
I thought part of the reason we got Cousins was the tax situation was more favorable than wherever else he was possibly considering. Maybe that was just taxes on man vans.
Minnesota compared to NY?
I assume Minnesota was slightly better.
A fair amount better.
Actually in 2018, MN marginal rates were 9.85% while NY rates were 8.9%
The question becomes City taxes, sales taxes, property tax, other taxes…..
Personally, I don’t think there is too much of a difference between NY and MN except on property taxes.
I know, let’s tax unrealized capital gains! Genius!
Just watch what 7% bump up in corporate tax rates does to the economy.
If she does get selected and is somehow able to get this enacted, I would guess mass selling of all kinds of stuff tanking the market before it became law.
I don’t see how it could possibly pass a legal test. How can you tax income that has not been realized? I buy Ford stock at $11 today, goes up to $18, I pay capital gains on unrealized income, stock goes down to $8 a year from now when I cash it out?
No rebate on the tax even when it the gain drops down and it lost.
Well, I agree with your take.
However, Obamacare was decided to be a tax.
The Libs twisted Robert’s arm until he said uncle.
For that matter with today’s real estate prices in MT how many ranches would be valued at over $100 M? Land rich and cash poor ranches.
But doesn’t NY also have an extra kicker if you make more than a million or so? But I may have my states mixed up.
Maybe. But I thought Minnesota did too.
I doubt Kirk’s decision was based on taxes.
I think he just liked Minnesota’s team more than the Jets.
Taxes in Minnesota are top five worst in the country
“neighborly socialism”
Not to mention Insurance rates are expected to rise 61% in Minn.
Heck even Calif is only going up 54%

@i love living in this state @
I am so tired of the rich not wanting to pay their fare share.
Buy borrow die
Now that we have the initial 53 man roster established, can we say where we think the Vikings are “strong” and where we think they still have issues?
front 7 looks improved, interior oline is still crap
Solid take.
2024…..
I long for the days of guards like Steve Hutchison
Or a Randle McDaniel.
I could list the 1970’s dudes, but very few would even know who I was yapping about.
Ron Yary
Jerry Kramer. And maybe Russ Grimm.
Yary, Tinglehoff, White, Alderman
I went with the most recent dominant interior lineman
Not many better than Reggie White.
But he didn’t play for the Vikings.
Oh, I didn’t realize we were limited. My bad
You weren’t liimited.
We were just chatting about Vikings OL of yester year
the vikings are strong at the safety position. and once addison is healthy and back, the wr position.
speaking of the safety position. I laughed a bit. I made a comment on the daily norseman about how kwesi really screwed up that cine pick ESPECIALLY since he passed up on Kyle Hamilton, and the arguements with me were that we are loaded at safety so it doesn’t matter….
as if having an extra all pro safety is such a bad thing. those arguments were rather moronic imo
I know, right? And people were trying to say they knew Bynum was a stud no doubt and that safety wasn’t a need that draft. Revisionist history.
the obvious argument to that is if they were “loaded” at safety, why did they take one in the first round? So dumb
Hitman’s replacement…
The Vikings can start populating their practice squad at noon Eastern time today, and we’ll also learn this afternoon if they made any waiver claims.
Hoping to see a few guys retained on the practice squad.
😂
Alcohol absolutely damages your short term memory…so the post is funny but true.
Actually, loss of short term memory is many times not a bad thing. You were with her, oh I don’t remember that.
good point….
Oh believe me, I know. My ex-wife was such a bad alcoholic she got jaundice and started thinking she was back in college.
I first read that she was black in college.
HAHAHAHA!!!! She drank herself into a different race all together.
We watched them make fun of the original last night on Gutfeld.
The Teacher had a good laugh at the new ending this morning.
Freezey, not your birthday today because it’s mine. I’m going to celebrate by going to work all day and then doing basically nothing tonight. Maybe throw a steak on the grill. I’m old.
That is the best birthday gif there is. You win.
Have a great day. A steak and a cold beer always works.
Do you have a smoker? Smoke that steak until 120 internal then sear on piping hot grill or cast iron… So good.
I’ve got 2 actually but won’t have time for those shenanigans until this weekend
I think a nice charred ribeye with some butter will suffice.
It absolutely will.
Also… Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy B-Day !!
Happy BD!
The backup’s backup plan? Found this funny.
*Starter by mid November
2026 maybe
barring a kirk injury, i’d take that bet ALL DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Was Kirk’s injury last year the start of him breaking down physically?
tough to say. he has never been injured before.
Yep, and our young Savior can’t make it through 1 preseason, not a good omen.
Hardly a little more than one half of one preseason game.
Truthfully, he does not look very big from the waist down.
I agree, but once injuries start they can become a trend
Tom Brady suffered one injury in 22 years in the league…
He wasn’t 36 and an acl is not nearly as bad as an Achilles
OK Ben, wanna bet me that Cousins becomes an injury prone QB and doesn’t make it through this season?
He’s not going to play long enough to be “injury prone”.
Laughing… OK
He doesn’t have enough years left on his career to be deemed injury prone unless he gets hurt like 3 times this year.
Laughing… no shit… but the original comment was:
“once injuries start they can become a trend”.
My position was I didn’t think that would be the case with Cousins. Apparently you agree with me.
His most likely injury is food poisoning from his inability to run a grill.
Laughing…
Perhaps. But I hope our next QB is as tough as he has been.
I’m not saying he will, but asking if the achilles rupture is the start of a physical breakdown, I honestly hope not, but at 36 it is a possibility. Rodgers has an even more difficult situation with the same injury at age 40.
Yep and the penix will be playing before the year ends.
I would seriously take that bet Bow.
I think that’s the hope of the Cousins haters here. They desperately want him to fail.
He won’t. He’ll have a very good year… again.
I think he’ll do fine. It’ll be normal kirk. He’ll put up good numbers, not do anything crazy, and the falcons will finish right about. .500 (they still don’t have a pass rush or much of a defense).
I’d lean more to coming in second in comeback player of the year behind Rogers.
Other than hock coming out and lighting it up after 4 wells are there even any other players realistically in the conversation for that one? Coming in second in a two horse race isn’t much to write home about.
Maybe Burrows? Rogers and Burrows is not a bad crowd. And all three will probably get their teams into the playoffs
Here’s the betting list on the NFL comeback player of the year for 2024. Long list.
Joe Burrow
Aaron Rodgers
Kirk Cousins
Anthony Richardson
Nick Chubb
Daniel Jones
Sam Darnold
J.K. Dobbins
Kyler Murray
Tank Dell
Deshaun Watson
Justin Herbert
Joey Bosa
Matthew Judon
T.J. Hockenson
C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Mark Andrews
Jaelan Phillips
T.J. Watt
Christian Gonzalez
Trevon Diggs
Bradley Chubb
Tre’Davious White
Tim Patrick
Mike Williams
Grady Jarrett
Talanoa Hufanga
Keaton Mitchell
Uchenna Nwosu
Dre Greenlaw
Still cracks me up that Sam is on that list.
Sam Darnold does NOT qualify.
I’m sure a few others don’t as well.
Well this is the betting list… I’d bet there’s some way he could win it. Regardless, it’s far from a two man race, which was my actual point.
Make it 3 then with Joey Burr who I forgot but other than that, none of the others are realistic.
T. J. Watt? Hock? Yeah…
I’ll take Rodgers and Burrow, you can have the field and that would be the safest bet I’ve ever made.
You won’t bet me on anything.
Yeah, that’s nothing personal, I don’t bet on anything but I thought I’d throw it out there that way because you’re always trying.
If I bet on something, I’m just about a lock to win. No one here has ever bested me.
You’re right that the team might not be world beaters, but Cousins will make them competitive. When you have a QB that puts up over 4,000 yards and close to 30 TD’s a year on the regular, you have a chance.
Given where we more than likely end up in our division, hardly matters if the Falcons are world beaters or not.
It doesn’t, and I’m mostly interested in what we put on the field to compete this year. Once again, I think our receiving corps is decent, especially when Hock returns, but worried about the running game, and honestly the QB position.
Well I find all of that interesting.
But just about every analyst, outside of Minnesota I guess, has us coming in last in the division. To me, and I don’t care if the division is tough or not, that sucks.
Yeah, maybe we can surprise the experts… hope so.
We made a strategic decision to be where we are right now. And many agree with it. Sort of go through some tough times and then you come out into the sunshine and happy trails. I have serious doubts about this, but will watch and see.
We did, and KAM came in with a plan to move on from Cousins eventually. He didn’t think paying top dollar for a seasoned vet under center was viable. Can’t necessarily disagree with him, but now he has to show he has the chops to build a Championship caliber team.
My problem is he didn’t have to play it this way – he could have had his cake and eat it too.
We could be competing for the division right now and still gotten our QB OTF.
And I’m also not real keen on losing the best player on our defense.
Honestly, low expectations usually means better things will happen for the Vikings.
I just don’t roll that way. Many times wish I could.
I mean low expectations from the sports media. For some reason it lights a fire under the team or it simply shows sports media is usually off when it comes to MN.
I don’t hope for that, I wish him the best, good dude
I don’t consider you a Cousins hater Ben.
They must have some kind of plan in the works for running backs because only 2 on the active roster seems rather risky.
Yeah I found them casting away that many RBs very odd. There’s a plan there. Were just not privy to it.
adrian peterson is still available
And he is broke, so he is motivated.
he’s gotta feed also those kids he has
They’ll likely sign someone, maybe old friend Mike Boone, or just sign someone like Gaskin to the practice squad and elevate them the first four weeks and make a decision after that
I’m surprised they didn’t feel Nwangwu didn’t do enough to earn the 3rd spot. He was gaining good chunks.
Couldn’t pick up the blitz is the way I have heard it.
I’d take Gaskin or Nwangwu over someone who doesn’t know the playbook.
Absolutely
The NFL I used to watch…
granted those players in those clips are either dead or can’t remember they have grandchildren, but dang was it fun to watch
Yeah, this is the football I remember… “BW”… (before woke).
I wonder if Special Teams coaches will start running stunts or blocking schemes on kick offs.
Oh big tone. I heard a couple over the summer that had crazy plans they wouldn’t share and there’s no way they were gonna do anything but vanilla in the preseason.
So I assume after 4pm EDT today, PS will be filled up.
We have Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler as our running backs. I suspect we’ll bring someone else in, but it’s a weird situation to me.
I think McBride and Nwangu will end up on the practice squad.
I considered that too. Hope so. Hope no one comes in and poaches either of them.
Do you thin KOC ‘really’ wants to run the ball?
Well, to date, he sucks at it, so maybe not.
Cowboys source said RB Dalvin Cook was in good shape but they are only interested in possibly signing him to practice squad at this point. Cook may have another visit with Colts.
If he can’t beat Zeke out, he should hang it up.
I always thought Cook was a good running back, good teammate, and a good person. I have always liked him. The one “issue” I had with him was his propensity to put the ball on the ground. I worried about that, and maybe other folks in the league saw that too. Dunno.
And immediately be injured like Rhodes when he gave up a big catch.
Love the Humpty pic up top.
AotD: For some reason our staff believes the IOL is still good and won’t change. I believe there will not be any changes to the starters or the 53 man roster, unless for some reason a stud is available. I don’t see that happening, so we are who we think we are.
