Normally we reserve the Kirk Cousins drama/arguments to Tuesdays, but I see that some people could not wait and had at it on a Monday. In case anyone has more words to say about that, today is the Kirko free for all day! I have been on the “Anyone but Kirk” team since December 2018, so I am thrilled with this offseason so far.

First softball game tonight and it’s supposed to be about 40 degrees with 35-40 mph winds and rain at game time. I really hope they cancel.

I’m looking for one that would integrate with my LowRance elite FS7, like take GPS directions from the fish finder and rumble around a spot like a race track, with river current about 5 mph…do they all do that?
They have powerfull electrics and very quiet. Again, size of boat.

My buddy has a Minn Kota that does that somehow. I’m guessing it syncs with his finder but I couldn’t say for sure. I know it kept us in place on the river above Tongue last year pretty good.
Minnkota does not communicate with Lowrance only Humminbird. I have I pilot Ulterra and Humminbird. Will spot lock in about 20 maybe 25 mph wind, my guess is it would hold in 5 mph current. I can troll and lets say I want to stay at 14 ‘ the troller communicates with fish finder and stays on the 14’ contour.
That’s sweet. I know almost nothing about all the new tech, but the side scan stuff my buddy was showing me last summer was pretty damn impressive.
Ya, it is, I have the SI/DI (side image / down image) but sometimes need help from adult kids to get it to synch with the fish finder. I draw the line at the ‘live scope’ just too much $

Nice. I recently sampled for the first time some kind of hazelnut chocolate spread, not Nutella but similar (not that I’ve ever tasted Nutella). It was sublime. Good thing I didn’t discover that at a young impressionable age, I’d be mainlining it like coke.
Back in my college days my packed lunches were variants of the peanut butter theme. PB&J, PB&H, PB& banana, PB & marshmallow spread.
I ended up getting more. They had a sale on potatoes and milk, so I got some of that, too. I eat potatoes like hazelnut chocolate spread.
Then I decided to try a new cereal. Some sort of off brand with honey flakes and oat clusters. Might as well live a little…

It drove me to whole milk. That is all I use now.
Lactose-free whole milk, though. Lactose does unpleasant things to me.

My current favorite would be that Morning Summit stuff from Cosco….if you had asked 12 year old me I would have said Lucky Charms.
Stopped at my stepson’s on Sunday morning. 14 year old boy was eating Lucky Charms. Ick I said, “the perfect cereal” he said.
I once tried the Malt-O-Meal version of Lucky Charms and greatly prefer them. They are called Marshmallow Mateys.
Mostly, I stick with Honey Nut Cheerios and Life.

Lucky charms. I would eat all the cereal in the bowl first, and save the marshmallows for the end. 3-4 spoonful of just marshmallows, and a couple pop tarts and a mountain dew, and I was ready for the day
It seems like when my family was posted to Germany (ages 7-11) which are formative years for young boys there was limited access (depended on what the CANEX had) to the highly processed sugar snacks like Luck Charms, pop tarts, etc…which was good for my teeth. However when we got back to Canada I discovered Mountain Dew, Slush Cats, poptarts, Freezies, etc oh what a sugar high.
Favorite cereal as a child was probably cocoa pebbles, but I have to shout out Quisp as well. tasted just like captain crunch but would not destroy the inside of your mouth if you ate it too quickly.
I like the first 3, can’t say I have tried the 4th one.

Koogle was pretty good for “flavored peanut spread”. Lots of sugar. the cinnamon and chocolate were probably the best. Banana tasted very funky.

I think he could. He was on some bad teams, but I also think that no matter what KOC says, he’s going to lean towards JJ starting. It’s JJ’s job to win, not Sam’s to lose so I just don’t think Sam’s gonna see the field unless training camp doesn’t go well for JJ.

Darnold was like a number 3 pick. Top prospect. Went to Jets and they for sure damn near ruined him. Played rather well. for a poor Panther team and held
clip board last year. Would say he has never really had a solid chance and could be better than any QB in this year’s draft (stranger things have happened).
That aside, me personally would not rush JJ on to the field. See no real reason to do that.
If Sam I Am has it and JJ isn’t ready, then I’m fine with them sitting him. Just a gut feeling though and I don’t think they will unless he just isn’t ready. Sam has the physical tools, but the Jets might have ruined the mental side. Reminds me of the first Carr brother.
Darnold has talent. He lacks the intuitiveness in going to a receiver based on what the defense is doing though. He’s a first read QB. He sees a guy open, and has a throwing lane, he can make the throw. Even well downfield. Baker Mayfield is similar. He doesn’t process well though. So the secret to making Darnold successful are one read, and zero read throws, coupled with a strong running game. Give Darnold a lot of timing throws and some protection, and he can get the job done.
You may recall a discussion we had some back when I mentioned thisPalmer guy (QB geru) and he was talking about all the college QB’s now.
They are athletic and most are one read and then gone. few, very few, are two reads and then gone.
OK Darnold has this. You think JJ and Hall don’t have this? Be no one will stay for 3 reads.
At least darnold has experience reading pro defenses and all the tricks they do in coverage.
JJ is the only QB in the draft that actually played in a pro style offense and was asked to make multiple reads. Not saying it will automatically transfer to the NFL, but I’d say he has a head start on the other guys. It also doesn’t mean that Sam isn’t the best option this year. We’ll see how August goes.
Bo Nix played in a West Coast offense with zone-read principles, so he should adapt to pro offenses easily.

I think the NFL TNF opener will be Houston @ K.C
I think Minnesota will get hit with an early TNF game – between weeks 2-4. (Week 2 hosting Houston feels right to me)
I think the entirety of the NFCN will play on Thanksgiving: Chicago @ Detroit, FT* @ Dallas and Minny @ Seattle.
I think Kirko’s return to Minny will be on MNF or SNF.
I think Minny’s ‘home game’ in the U.K will be against the Jets.
And I think the Commanders will host Dallas on MNF – the day before the election.
I have no real reasoning behind this. Just a gut feeling. Could be way off.

I think you should look up Drew Brees’ stats for 2014, 2015, and 2016 while the Saints went 7-9 each of those years. Just because you have a great QB playing incredibly, unbelievably well, it doesn’t mean the team will win. It’s just a fact. One guy on a team of 53 players doesn’t win games.

Looking at the opponents, I’d say 9-10 wins. If JJ is the dude, then 11-12.
What about Darnold?
I think JJ will end up starting most if not all of the year.
If Darnold starts, I don’t think that changes much from around 8-9 wins with what should be an improved, fast defense.
I actually liked Darnold in Carolina versus the Jets. Last year was just clip board holding. He could do quite well here.
Now W/L – who knows. Packers,Lions, and even Bears are going to be a lot better. That’s a problem. Even if we win 8 games and are last in division, not so good.
They can beat the Gnats, Falcons, Jets, should at least split with the Bears, Titans should be winnable, Seahawks and Jags could go either way, Rams are a crap shoot at best right now. I could see Stafford going off a cliff. Is Harrison enough to make Murray good enough to win? I’m not convinced, plus they have a new coach. I think they can split with the cheesedicks, especially if they don’t play both games early in the year. Colts game should be winnable unless Richardson is healthy and turns into something but even there, I think it’s winnable. 9ers and Texans are probable Ls and who knows on the Lions. On paper they probably lose both, but division games are different and they will likely play the Lions in week 16 or so injuries and records could change things drastically.
If Darnold plays well, we can score points. If he doesn’t and we have to go to JJ early, I personally don’t see that as good.
Offense aside – I still worry about our defense. I know you hate Cousins, but believe he, Rogers,Stafford or any good QB with experience will pick our pass defense to pieces. So maybe we out score them – depends on QB situation.

I don’t hate Cousins and have said numerous times that he is good, he’s just not good enough. He might play well, but there is nobody else on that team that is scary. Bijon is good but they don’t use him. Pitts is still just draft hype and has yet to live up to the hype. London is good but I’d take Addison over him and can you name a single player on their defense? The Rams could go either way. Like I said, I could see Stafford going off the cliff. Totally forgot about Rodgers in NY for some reason so that game could go either way and will likely depend on what time of year. Early, Jets win. Late in the season the Vikings will have a chance. As for the Packers and Lions, it’s still division games and weird things happen, not to mention they will finish the season with some of those games and if the Lions hypothetically have the division locked up the Vikings could be going against Hooker instead of Goff.
To me this isn’t about Cousins. It’s about how are defense, and Fllores’ tendencies, holds up against “experienced” QB’s that know what their doing.
We run zero blitzes and play our CB’s 15 yards off the liine of scrimmage, We play zone and have over 15 yards between second and third layers.

That it does. From everything I’ve listened to and looked at and the graphs I made without knowing the outcome kirk is above average at pre snap read, hell even significantly above average. The problem arises after the snap when he seems to react slower to the receiver he expects not getting open or the defense successfully disguising the coverage. Even a half second delay makes all the difference in the nfl and that’s where the failure comes around. If everything goes to script and as expected, he’s as good as any in the league. The problem is the guys on the other side of the ball get paid to and are good at what they do so open receivers are missed and sacks are taken that shouldn’t be. Obviously that is going to happen to every qb some, but he glitches to often to win a sb without a stellar team around him which was never going to happen in Minnesota with three contracts given out by slick Rick. His toughness is also to be commended. He takes shots on a weekly basis that would put most of us in a wheelchair.
That’s good stuff. I too think he holds the ball too long – should throw it away. But because he does, we hit some of those deeper crosses to JJ. Have no idea where the trade off point is.

Either way I am excited for the hope that the Vikings got “the guy”for the next 20 years and I look forward to arguing whether he’s worth 70 mil or 75 mill a year. I think the roster is improved save question at QB. If each position is weighted via importance, obviously QB being the highest, and then the player in said position given a numerical grade like PFF or similar, I actually think the cumulative value of last years team would be greater because of the ‘value’ assigned to edge and qb and the loss of Hunter, and #8.
