Had a crazy weekend with the band stuff. Had a show cancelation on Saturday turn into a blessing in disguise and ended up playing a biker club 50th Anniversary show last minute and ended up opening for 4 other bands, including Fire House, I got introduce them to the stage. Played for 1200 people, which was crazy and got nothing but compliments and good things, were told we out played the main stage until Firehouse came on.
Also got to take the GF and her daughter over to meet my sisters and their kids for a pool party yesterday and it went very well, grilled out. Good thing good things. Need some Vikings Ws for the cherry on top.
Firehouse front man has an amazing voice.
The new younger guy? Yes he does, they warmed up after we played earlier in the afternoon and his tone and pitch is so focused and strong, it was very impressive. Here’s a pic of us back stage when they were playing, the younger guy sitting next to the drive rack is their singer. Rest of the band members are original.
I was thinking of the original guy, CJ Snare. Had to look him up. My friend in high school had an amazing voice, but could not compare to CJ.
That would be pretty cool.
Both have great voices, this younger guy has almost the exact same tambr, cant tell if he’s trying to emulate CJ or not but they sounded great, had great harmonies. The guitar player for Zawarte (what’s left of them) pulled me aside while I was back there and complimented our band and my voice which was very cool.
Introducing to your sisters. Well well this is serious.

I like to call them Mom #2 and Mom #3. They were very wary coming into this because of the lady friend and ours hot and cold past, especially this past year but, all in all it went really well and they all got to chat and talk about the kids and school and general drama around town and work, with a few adult beverages.

After watching the first preseason game, I’ve come to the following conclusion about the Vikings’ QB situation:
We overpaid Kirk Cousins
I would like to see JJ get a few snaps with the starting o-line, in the next PS game. I doubt any starters play in the 3rd game. Likely no starters play in the next game.
Most of the 1st team starters that will be on the field for GB will be getting their work in in joint practices imo. Last two games are for fringe guy evaluation.

As far as all of the “experts” saying he is getting pressure from Wentz as QB2, they need to remember Wentz was facing 3rd string defense. For the first few drives for JJ he was facing a lot of NYGs starters and was playing with the 2nd string offense.

Wentz could be QB2 if he isn’t already there.

Well, i am glad we did not drive up to NJ to watch THAT game. A few take-aways regarding our QB situation
Murray completed all but 1 of his passes, so we should start him.
Wentz had the best QBR, perhaps he should be our starter.
But JJM showed the best running ability, maybe that element says he should start.
Brosner played with the 3rd and 4th stringers and had no turnovers, he obviously should start
I was encouraged by Wentz and then I thought about him playing against 3rd stringers.
But he might be the #2 behind Murray at this point.
Watched the highlights on YouTube last night but it was a Giants feed so their highlights are not the same as ours.
If we only kept Kirko for a bazillion dollars, we would be set and go 9-8, like last year.
Evidently even with that ‘bazillion dollars’ he would still be living rent free in your head. He has been gone a more than 2 years now.
I think Cousins get a bum rap. With a good oline, and a strong D we could have been better those last few years. It was more of a “GM/HC shit show” that ruined the team. I dont blame Kirk for signing those big contracts, i blame Rick and the Wilfs.

I blame all 3 of them. Kirk and his agent for thinking hes worth what he wasn’t, and Rick and the Wilfs not telling him to shove it.
I believe with Kirk we win 2-3 more games last year, and then probably lose in the first 2 rounds of playoffs. But regardless, we weren’t winning the SB.
That was always going to be the case with Kirk under center. We saw his peak and the most he was capable of mentally in the 3 play off games were managed to get to with him in the 6 years he was here.

Hard to evaluate Kyler n 3 passes…but he looked fine…That was a nicely thrown out for a 1st down. Still looks to me like we played our best QB in the 2nd half. I thought JJ was the most unimpressive of the 3, though he did throw one deep that should have been caught.

I’m just not that sensitive to folks occasionally saying something stupid. I’m also a good communicator, but as you said, some folks you just can’t have a conversation with.
I imagine after a career in HR you have had to have quite a few conversations with quite a few knuckleheads.
No doubt. I’ve had to deal with some literally crazy people. One guy told me the radio and tv were talking to him and told him Toyota was the anti-Christ. Another went into grisly detail about how he was going to murder a coworker. I’ve had my life threatened on multiple occasion.
I have met/dealt with those guys in prison.
It is much easier when you are in control of them like that.
Better than a Street Cop that way. I can’t imagine it in your situation.
I had a ton of resources. I can’t tell you some of the things I did, because that would make those countermeasures ineffective, but I was very effective at it.
I forgot about that one guy that was stalking me all over the internet. He wasn’t here long though. Thankful to GF for taking care of him for me. That guy was a certified nut case.

We were out and about yesterday and a lady in one of the shops was complaining about how she wanted to watch football but none of the games on Thursday night were on free tv. She was saying that if the NFL really wanted to hook people they should have had some games available without having to pay extra.

I wanted to watch the Steelers on Thursday night on YouTube, and said I was out of market and couldn’t watch.
I was pissed.
We just got YouTube TV.
Strange, I watched it Thursday night on YouTube TV (NFL Network broadcast) and I am very much out of market.
I am thinking that the rules about what is available and what isn’t are so convoluted that even the Networks and Providers don’t understand them.
You can also stream it on NFL+ premium. By far my favorite of all the apps with what I get. 24/7 NFL Network, Redzone on Gameday and the best part – live home/away/national radio broadcasts of each game. Game replays dating back years. Absolute favorite.
Not giving the Woke/Greedy NFL any extra money.
If it is on Free TV or at least a provider like YouTube TV that we already have then fine.
I looked into it. I don’t like that you can only watch on mobile devices though. I prefer to watch football on my 65″ tv. I canceled my YouTube tv after the superbowl. Was getting Sunday ticket, but got too damn expensive and I get the vikes most games on my local channels. I just went back to Hulu with live tv for that reason. I think they offer the red zone channel as an add-on for 10 bucks more a month, so will probably do that closer to opening weekend. After I wrote all this, it just dawned on me that you can probably hook your device to run through a tv maybe?

For that matter, RedZone is NOT only available on a streaming device/phone/tablet. I’ve had it the last 3 years and watch RedZone every Sunday on my 65” Roku.
Preseason games are also available on regular TV’s with NFL+ Premium. I got my subscription in February at a discount. Paid $60 for the year.
I already have Prime & Netflix for TNF and other slated games. Netflix costs me $10 a month. I’ve been an Amazon customer for years @ $9 a month. I get Paramount + as a Walmart customer.
I do that plus I’ll combine the ESPN/Fox bundle @ $40 a month for football season – this will cover me for College Foosballs, MNF, etc…
not including my internet cost I’m in for about $75 a month. Still a bit cheaper than YouTube TV or HuluLive – both excellent btw. I’ll cut the ESPN/Fox bundle after football season. I’ll re-up my yearly scripts of NFL+ and Peacock in February at likely the same discounted rate – key is to threaten to cancel outright if they try and resubscribe you at the premium rates.

Absolutely. I used to run my Hulu Live from Sep to Feb and then just downgrade to Hulu. The last few years I’ve just kept the Hulu Live all year long. That way I can watch March Madness and MLB Network if I care to.
