How long before the NFL goes to a streaming service. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was a streaming service that covered all professional sports for a specific area. Like if the Twins, Wolves, Wild and Vikings were on one streaming service I may be willing to pay for it. I refuse to pay for a streaming service for each team. I guess if it gets to that point, I will no longer be watching sports.
And for those of us with no local ‘pro teams’ it just sucks worse.
But I have adapted to ‘if a game is on great, if not oh well’.

Harsh. Fortunately, I’ve held off on buying a McFragile™ or Murray jersey. If Moore is drafted by us, dresses for his first two seasons, taking a majority of snaps beginning halfway through the first year, and starts looking like the bona fide QBOTF for the Vikings, I’m buying jerseys for everyone in my family.

I am so pessimistic going into this season. All we need is decent to above average QB play and this team would be really good. Alas, neither Midget nor McFragile fit that bill.
I think we need more than good QB play. Against the top teams, the defense struggled stopping the run, and were vulnerable on the blitz against top QB’s that recognized the blitz quickly and made the necessary adjustments.
However, you are correct in your pessimism. Our QB room has to be bottom 5.

I received an breaking news alert from the NFL app today while I was training my replacement. I’m sure no one talked about it on here at all.
Hmmmm…. I think I had more alerts hit my phone than comments about the qb situation on here. I was training so I didn’t have time to read them, but there were a bunch alerts about how JJ losing out to the Midget was big news (apparently).
Pretty much expected.
Is he the starter for the preseason game Saturday?

I mean, you can blame most of the turnovers on him, but I recall several dropped/tipped passes that weren’t on him, or his lineman swatting the ball out of his hands once, and then there’s the whiffs on a defender coming unblocked to hit him blind-side. Some of that isn’t really his fault, but he did have fairly poor ball security for fumbles in general, that’s for sure.

Yeah, through 4 or 5 weeks. He has never played at that level for an entire season in over a decade of his career but OH , he had a hot hand to start so you can clearly project that out to a full 17 week season. Come on man. That’s kindergarten thinking. And way to ignore his turn overs. My point remains. You cant refute that. You have to take the good AND THE BAD with the eval.
Sounds like the midget. He’s had some good games and been a good fantasy QB at times, but never consistently. At least he’s not getting overpaid this year (at least by the Vikings).
And that was the whole gripe. “He’s being paid what he is worth and what the market says” – The markets inflated and average QBs are making insane amounts of $$, even more so now. That doesnt justify Kirk getting his extensions here while the rest of the team, specifically the defense was cannibalized for it. Also the no trade clause, handcuffing the team as well. If Kirk got paid what he was actually worth according to the cap % and allowed the team to move him when it was clear he wasn’t mentally fit to make a SB run, I wouldn’t have as big a problem with him as I do. I was gun ho for him for 2018 and to start 2019. But things change. It was pretty obvious what he could and couldnt do by then but the excuses never ended.
And so you blame Kirk for management’s mistakes. He isn’t responsible for writing the contracts, he can only negotiate thru his agent. To constantly blame him for the contracts he signed gets old, at the end of the day the Vikings could have said no, or offered less and Kirk could have said no. It didn’t happen.
You can make that assumption for the season that he would have gotten worse, but maybe he would have played better? You don’t know. All I know is I preferred a world where JJ and Thielen were breaking records and we had a respectable passing game. Our offense is a joke now.
And these two things aren’t related. Kwerk was no longer in a position to benefit the team at all, either with his now injury making him even more ass in the pocket and less mobile, or his LUDICRIS price tag. The Vikings in 2024 and in 2026 would be a far worse team with him on the roster. I too would love a steady, LEGIT top 10 QB at a fair price or on a rookie contract. That QB never was and never will be Kirk. SO. Quit mixing up arguments and comparing Apples and Oranges.

Regarding the picture up top. I’ve been hearing/reading good things about this young lad. Sounds like no receiver that he covers gets to him mentally. He views them as the number on their jersey only, and not the big name they may have, and we all know who he’s been covering in practice.
I’m also excited about Demmings. Kid is tall and rangy. Great speed. Dog mentality. Early returns from both OTA’s and camp have been promising.
He needs some game reps, but would be nice if the purple finally drafted a true stud at that position. Our secondary isn’t terrible, but give Flores a true shutdown corner, with what we already have, and the possibilities of how great this defense could be this season has me excited and ready for some football.
The longer this has gone on, the more I am shifting my position on who I think should and will start, and that has shifted more to JJ 60/40. I expected Murray to be showing more, granted the first pre season game and joint practices have not happened but if they are this close, then you have nothing to lose starting JJ.

To me, it makes sense to have JJ working with the second team. For one he is already familiar with the receivers and the thing he really needs to work on is his processing. So let him work against the #1 defense to gain some processing speed. Meanwhile, Kyler is able to get timing down with starting receivers.

I gotta hand it to the marketing people at the WNBA, they are geniuses at generating headlines and it almost makes me want to watch a game. Almost meaning I moved from a zero percent chance of tuning in a game to 1% chance.
I saw a guy saying Caitlan Clark was the best thing to happen to the WNBA because she got it a ton of attention. But now she is the worst thing to happen to the WNBA because the league did not rise up to be worthy of the newfound scrutiny. They are just making themselves look really, really silly.
I’ll probably start watching it when the entire league is transgender women.
