Question of the Day – How many 1 score games will we endure this season?
Twinkies bullpen gives up 7 runs today vs Colorado.
They still win 17-9 despite only two HRs.
Rockies suck, can’t win a series with them at home give it up. Football please.
Twinkies won 2 of 3 so I believe that equates to ‘winning the series’.
My point is Twins very average. Against good teams nothing.
I like the updates. As a fan, I don’t get to see them much, so thanks for the info.
Could be worse – Cubs bullpen gives up 4 in ninth to lose.
When you changing that handle SoCal?
When I complete the move to Idaho.

Goose look mesmerized with that girl.
If that’s a smile don’t want to see pissed off.
Think it’s more lusting than smiling. Can’t blame him.
Liked the picture of Joe on Juneteenth. ‘Rockin’ the Free world’. Thought it was a statue.
Like going to a rock concert with your grandpa.
Weird. Oilers land yet or still in the air?
Better get their butts grounded soon.
Got to make 2-2. Hope for good goaltending going back.
Had an interesting conversation yesterday with a couple of Plentywood (MT) residents. I repeated my oft said comment that I see a LOT of cancer in the Sheridan county region, more than I would reasonably expect, although I don’t have epidemiologic data. Now, I could ascribe the increased incidence to proximity to North Dakota and Saskatchewan, but they mentioned that in their youth they were sprayed multiple times by crop dusting planes and mosquito foggers, were told when they got home to make sure and wash their hands after getting coated in spray but never bathed or showered. Makes one wonder.
Could be. I went to high school with three guys. All three of them got cancer in their mid-twenties. One died.
They figure it was because one summer they all worked at the same nursery and had to go around and rubber band plants after they had been coated with some chemical. They said they went home that night covered in white powder.
I found the conversation particularly interesting considering my recent inaugural exposure to the AI process in cows. There’s a certain peer pressure to not look like a total dweeb. As a background, if I’m spraying weeds from the 25 gallon sprayer on my side by side, I wear gloves and long sleeves but usually no mask or eye protection. If, on the other hand, I am going to get out and into the weeds or use a back pack sprayer I put on a respirator mask and goggles. In any case I strip down my clothes and leave them outside until ready to wash and hop in the shower when done.
Now, one can see that showing up at a branding or AI wearing a hazmat suit will engender great respect among the cowboys. So I contented myself by showing up for the first go round in boots, jeans, long sleeve shirt, and hat. I was assigned to sprinkle insecticide powder on the cows, the vet tech offered me a pair of vinyl gloves to wear under my leather gloves “as that stuff will soak through sweat covered leather gloves”, so I did so. After I was done I was a little freaked out that the powder gets in your face periodically if the wind shifts.
For the second go round, I made sure to bring along a surgical mask. However, I was assigned to wrangle the cows into the chute, so unnecessary.
The funny part, though, is the hormones. The first go round they were given IM GnRH and a perimenopausal female was assigned to give the injections “wear gloves, be careful”. The second time, with an injection of equineCG, same crew, the owner did the injections, “if women get exposed to this it’s really bad”.
Now, I don’t think getting a big dose of GnRH or eCG is desired in any case, but I don’t know that a single dose of it would be “really bad”. I do think getting dusted with insecticide chronically COULD be “really bad”. However, the familiarity of a product that looks like baby powder evidently leads your average cowboy to not be concerned but those weird hormones in a syringe are a bird of another feather.
Was this job possibly for Hunter Biden?
Tough call, get cancer 30 years from now or go outside without mosquitos.
Sounds like it could have been a factor. My father and three of his brothers all got cancer . Dad and one of his brothers died from it. When they were young they use to play where a toy company once was but the building got torn down. There was talk that they might have all got cancer because of the paint chemicals etc. Another reason they thought this might have played a part is because none of his sisters have ever had cancer. They didn’t play where the boys did. Does make one wonder.
Sadly, environmental issues have been linked to cancer many times. Unbeknownst to lots of people until to late.
Asbestos everywhere, lead in paint, insecticides sprayed on gardens etc. Lot of heart attacks though.
I did a line walk of the three belts of my shelter belt last night. It’s early, but it appears about 97% of the trees/shrubs have survived the planting, which is WAY more than I thought would…now to see if they can make it through the winter.
For those interested, and have access to a TV, KOC will be on the Herd in about five minutes.
He’s making the rounds.
He was with Rich Eisen a day or two ago.
Blah Blah – spoke highly of Cousins, Darnold and JJ. Nothing new.

How many one-score games will we have this season?
Only the ones we win, so roughly…8ish…
I saw this theory about Joe NOT being replaced on the ticket.
After reading it, I believe Jill Biden will NOT allow Joe to be replaced.
Interesting and wouldn’t doubt it.
Now if I were a top Repub PR guy my slogan would be – ” A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris for President.”
Well, that’s all gonna be up to the Democratic delegates.
On paper, sure.
You don’t think a woman scorned could get her way with “the delegates”?
After that, it’s on to the voters.
The day Minnesota elects a Republican presidential candidate is the day I know I died and went to heaven. Oh wait, all the Minnesotans on here, you live in a great place! Montana sucks real bad.
If that happened, I think it might lead to mass suicides in Minnesota.
Are you trying to convince me or dissuade me from thinking it would be a good thing?
It would be a very good thing
Ha
Is Ben still on his bender?
On a job application and interview bender
who’s gonna want to hire you if you can’t even do your daily task of putting the thread up for us??
That task keeps getting pushed to the new hires.
…
How is it going?
Not bad for a week, got an offer as a financial advisor/ insurance sales
So basically a mob enforcer?
“I advise you to pay Mr. Big five grand a month, or you will need better insurance…”
Yeah, my professional name is now Benny the leg breaker
That is awesome! Cream rises to the top.
My wife has been on an application bender. That can be annoying. Hopefully, you can copy/paste a lot of it.
Yeah, indeed makes things a lot easier
When I was a wee ‘un, Canadian medical school applications were typed by hand. Was a PITA obviously but probably cut down on the # of applications sent out, unless you knew a secretary who could throw down 120 wpm.
While laboring as a lab tech, I became aware of an innovation called MCAS that many American medical schools had moved towards, a centralized application that you then paid to play depending on how many places you sent applications to. IIRC I didn’t even use the system when applying because UND still used a typewritten application, and UW a Montana resident goes through the WWAMI application system. I think I used the DO school version of MCAS, I believe I applied to three places.
I’m sure it’s even more user friendly now.
It would be nice if job applications for specific fields were that way.
Hey MT, how damn long does it take for the average gouger to read an XRAY? I had my hip xrayd at noon yesterday. They said the results should appear in my patient portal today. Nothing yet.
FYI the DR thought it was likely a bad case of hip bursitis along with a sciatic issue…this sounds reasonable to me.
He gave me a shot and took an XRAY.
Well, my friend, it takes me on average about 90 seconds to read a hip series. The problem is there is a significant supply vs demand mismatch in the field right now.
Yeah I know…Lots of work and too few workers…true in every field…even Medical….
Maybe we can train some of the Venezuelan illegal immigrants??

Damn, I love that thing. No hands, don’t need to wash up after a #2.
Had a coworker use one for the 1st time on an overseas cruise. She thought it was O.K. but the cold water was a bit of shock to her bottom…Shouldn’t those things use warm water?
Mine has individual options selectable on the remote for how much seat heat, blower heat, and water heat it delivers. In no case can it deliver even cool water.
Cheap European models.
The Japanese models are truly the best. That’s what I have.
I’ll take a cheap European model, preferably a Swedish bikini type.
Ha! That is awesome…
Bursitis and sciatic is okay news, right?
Yes, painful news but O.K. news.
Still waiting on the Xray.
Frankly since they did the shot yesterday the hip feels quite a bit better.
That’s good. You live to fight another day!
Hopefully the pain will be manageable.
I have to admit I’ve been extremely blessed healthwise.
No major issues or pain.
Up until the last year where my right arm/shoulder hurts when I use it. I’m almost at the point where I use my left arm to do things.
From what I am reading it’s a torn rotator cuff.
First appointment with the orthopedic is next Thursday.
Check the right ‘heritage’ blocks, never hurts. And aren’t we all disabled in some manner.
Saw a video of somebody complaining because their boss wouldn’t make concessions for their timeline dysphoria or something like that. She said it’s not her fault she can’t get to work on time and was mad that her boss yelled at her and told her she’d never get or keep a job.
I saw that, too.
I know people with timeblindness. It is not an exaggeration to say that I don’t have a hard time hating them.
Just. Be. On. Time!
This sounds like my sisters! Now I know there is a real diagnosis “timeline dysphoria”. If the event starts at 8 oclock, we tell them it starts at 7:15.

Kinda looking forward to the US Open, hearing crazy things about the greens.
My mom grew up in east Texas. She used to eat collard greens. Is that what we’re talking about? They were boiled so they were all mushy. They were gross.
That sounds like a Joe tall tale.
I’m trying to become president by random spouting of off topic nonsense.
As long as you have the right letter by your name, it’s perfectly fine.
Need not be ‘off topic’, just any type of plain old nonsense will work.
LOL. I couldn’t handle either!
US Open is usually a very difficult event.
A few years ago, players were publically complaining that the course was making them look bad. Pansies.
Joey Chestnut banned from Hot Dog eating contest on July 4th.
I’m guessing the ratings plummet for that event this year, and Nathan’s hot dog sales drop off a cliff.
@Maybe she could take his place in the contest@
Stop posting GIFs of my wife, please.
Why did you sell her gif for posting by random bloggers?
Does she know you did this?
Your wife bites your wiener off, weird.
I think he is married to Lorena Bobbitt.
Why would you ban the goat?
He’s the face of some veggie dog.
Gotta get paid if you can
He signed a marketing deal with Nathan’s competitor brand and Nathan’s is having a hissy fit. Once they lose big bucks, they will change their mind.
Is the hot dog eating actually watched by the general public? Seems like a big gimmick.
I usually watch it, it’s not very long
Well, I am impressed. I did not realize I knew someone that actually put “watch the hot dog eating contest on TV” on their daily calendar. I mean no sarcasm there, I just have never even thought of that contest except when I see them review it on the news as a notable event of the day, some guy has stuffed 64 dogs in his gullet.
There is a competitive eater on YouTube I watch regularly: BeardMeatsFood.
All he does is travel the world going to restaurants that offer eating challenges. Then he wins roughly 95 percent of them.
I’ve never done competitive eating directly, but I will always do a food challenge when I see one, I think the most I ate was 3 pounds of bbq meats in a foot long French bread with a pound of potatoes and a pickle spear in under 20 minutes.
…
i even got to taste it twice
Our family usually watches it.
ESPN every year.
13 one-score games.
i’m getting chipotle for lunch and i’m very excited about it.
Are you going to record them making your food?
i don’t get it.
Supposedly if you video tape them you get more food. I didn’t know it was an issue as I couldn’t tell you the last time, if ever, that I went to Chipotle.

well shoot. i ordered online, so they will probably give the smallest portion..
(i have ordered online many times, and have never had an issue)
Servings have gotten smaller.
I don’t know if the ‘videoing’ hack works as I have not tried it.
Servings getting smaller – OK Joe Biden.
Shrinkflation.
I expect good ole Joe ‘from Scranton’ to rail against evil companies again.
Yes, lets cut out “junk fees” but pay 40% more for everything in general. Big thumbs up, Joe.
Inflation is a myth.
-Paul Krugman
FBI says violent crime down. Anyone who believes that has shit for brains. Sniffer is working it. More people picked up with ISIS connections i notice. We sit with a defenseless border. How stupid is this country to let this clown show continue?
You are spreading misinformation norseman.
The border is secure. Biden just issued an executive order that he claimed he had no power to do last fall.
All is well.
Not predicting a 9/11 but i can see a Moscow concert disaster.
If Trump beats the odds and is sworn into office, you can bet there will be one.
There will be one before then to try and get Joe the George Dubya bump.
Not sure Biben would get a bump.
Border is a known mess.
I can only imagine Briben getting to the site trying to do some megaphone photo op.
The ‘New and Improved’ reporting system the FJB admin uses now is so complicated that many cities/states just SWAG the info.
Their internal numbers are more accurate then what they report to the FBI. In 2021 40% of Law enforcement agencies did not report to the FBI up from 24% in 2020.
themarshallproject.org/2023/07/13/fbi-crime-rates-data-gap-nibrs
Sniffer is proud of FBI report, he’s strutting it. LMAO.
Does the reporting system even matter? They are going to post the ‘numbers’ that best serve them. We are well beyond honesty and integrity of figures.
When the NYPD is one of the agencies not reporting their crime stats to the FBI I think that is pretty significant.
It’s all manipulated. Want to make a bet – let’s pick the last unemployment number that gets posted right before the election?
And I’d bet even if inflation starts to rise, Fed won’t raise rates in the fall.
Actually, rates will likely be cut twice before the election.
So yes, it’s all manipulated.
If you like econ type of stuff, just about every GDP, Unemployment, or other report released by the Administration has had a significant downward revision the following month that is never reported.
Some econ folks actually think a recession has started.
Yes rates will get cut and probably twice whether the second is merited or not.
You’ll probably recall the unemployment rate drop just before 2012 election helping Obama (later reversed).
Yep.
Bingo. Yet people still trust government numbers. Particularly with the-disease-that-shall-not-be-named, we have medical professionals still believing the BS.
I’ll bite.
What’s the BS?
If you say masks are BS, I’m with you.
If you say the vaccine is worthless, I am not with you.
If you say the disease was nothing more than a mild cold, then I’m backing away gingerly.
It depends on your comparison point. If you compare current crime to say, the summer of crimes in 2021, There may be less crime.
Congrats on getting diarrhea
i said chipotle not taco bell

Lucky…
it really hit the spot. my sister got me a gift card. she knows me well.
Sounds like we are making a day trip to Killings next week, might have to steer my way to one of the franchises.
Skip that and go to The Divide or Diamond Bar X.
I love Diamond X. The problem with an up and back 450 mile round trip is I don’t like to linger at a sit down place, plus I couldn’t enjoy an adult beverage before jumping back in the pickup for a 225 mile jaunt.
Oh come one, it’ll make the drive more fun.
This has potential.

A full life lead, no doubt.
A ‘full life lived’ indeed.
I’ve been trying to get a read on the Vikings line quality since the draft. Just really trying to break it down to fourths. Top 25% (1-8), second 25% (9-16), third 25% (17-24), and bottom 25% (25-32).
Right now I think the O-line will be better, and rank in the 9-16 range, and I feel the same way about the D-line.
Thoughts?
Ooffda, that’s a tough one. My initial thought was your ranking was appropriate…but our internal positions on both offensive and defensive line scare me – I will go with 13 to 16 on both sides of the ball.
This is my take as well.
‘I feel the same way about the D-line’.
I think you are high on the O-line and too pessimistic on the D-line.
D-line I think will be better with all of the additions even with the loss of Hunter (if you consider OLB a part of the D-line in a 3-4).
O-line (actually IOL) will same with last year and one injury away from counting on ‘scrubs’ stepping up.
Hope O-line is better, Darnold will need help. Like jones/TY combo. IDL not sure about.
Tough question. Think oline is OK at pass blocking but not so much at run blocking. Dline – when we can generate pressure from ‘just’ the line regularly, then they will be OK.
The interior is a liability in pass protection until proven otherwise
I review Charlton Heston in The Omega Man.
Nice review, I remember watching Omega Man as a 10 year old…it was kind of scary then.
I can see how it would be scary to a kid. Those albinos are creepy!
