Dillingham is one of the best guards with the ball in his hands and can get downhill and put pressure on the rim. There’s no doubt that he’ll be electric in Minnesota, but his size at 6-foot-2, 164 pounds, is concerning for a lead guard in the NBA

One against three – Trump should be able to handle it.
Maybe we should have a pool – how many times will Trump’s mic get cut off? Or how many times will a moderator cut Trump while speaking and call him a liar?
Lots of possibilities

My Lib friend posted this on facebook
“If your version of Christianity wants to put the 10 commandments in schools but take free lunches out of them. You are worshiping something other than Jesus”.

So by extension she is saying Christians need to be in favor of giving free stuff to everyone or they are not Christian.

My response “There is no such thing as a ‘free lunch’….something the left fails to comprehend”

Feeding hungry kids is important.

Of course people are going to abuse it and use available money for drugs, booze, etc and not feed their kids.

Kind of like buying groceries with a ETB card and then buying smokes and alcohol with cash. Been behind those types in checkout lines often enough.

Don’t like it, but feeding hungry kids in important enough that I will stomach it.

I am very much not in favor of Skolfrom MT or myself paying for lunches for kids whose parents can certainly afford it.

Same with my wife and my daughter. Both teachers.
We gave some kids shoes, without the school knowing about it. Not supposed to happen.

Having said that, I still think parents should be responsible for feeding their kids. Plenty of parents are complete idiots and will buy themselves stuff before feeding their kids.
But that is what the public school system has become.

Slow day…little dog talk.

Saturday I was mixing up another batch of water and powdered pig blood to spray on my treelets (deer repellent). This time I decided the chocos could be out with me, my wife was in town and they like hanging out with me outside. Tuck, the elder, was out in the field hunting mice and voles. Bubba was right there with me, sneaking licks at the corner of the bucket, wanted to lick the paint mixer agitator, etc. My son-in-law pulled into the yard just as I was finishing decanting the blood from a 5 gallon bucket into a sprayer through a cheesecloth filter. I tossed the filter in the empty bucket and turned to talk with him for all of 30 seconds before I said let me just rinse this stuff off. I clean out the bucket, no filter? Did he or didn’t he? Long story short I dosed him with 4 doses of H2O2 while the SIL and I planted a big honey locust, by the 4th dose he was crawling under the pickup to get away from me. Wife came back into the yard, I’m starting to panic, he hasn’t thrown up, she has me call the vet and tells me to calm down “why are you so calm when people are sick but freak out with the dogs” well duh. Never so happy to hear the sound of a dog getting sick, up came the filter. Dumbass.

Monday morning I took Tuck in for some routine blood work. We have a new vet, he’s very nice and knowledgeable but sorta on the spectrum. I’m used to them poking the vein on the front of the leg. Not this vet, he does a jugular stick…got blood immediately. I cried out, “like a friggin’ BOSS!”. Ooops did I say that out loud.

I had that horrible thought – what if I set the filter somewhere and it blew into the field, and we go in to vet and get his stomach pumped for nothing?

Only later did I think to review the security camera footage, where you can clearly see him bob his head into the bucket and snarf down the filter. He is the prototypical walking stomach Lab, he loves all manner of vegetables and fruit. The older “brother” is much more choosy about what he eats, he’ll sniff pizza crust before he’ll eat it, for example.

Two hours later I was his BFF again.

Labs are the worst. My daughter, a Vet, confirms that from patients she sees.
We had a lab – eat cloves of garlic, bounce (from the dryer). but seemed to have a particular taste for deer poop. And of course, few hours later would throw it up all over the house. Wonderful cleanup.

I’m convinced that if Bubba got into a 45 kg bag of dogfood he would eat as much as he caninely could stuff into his stomach and then die of bloat.

Tuck did a nice assist last night, my wife had seen a mouse on the deck so I checked my 4 bait traps…all were empty of the bait/rat poison. Last trap I opened there were three mice staring up at me – mouse house! Brought Tuck outside, set the trap down in the middle of the gravel drive, and popped open the lid…3 running mice…3 dead mice.

Need to recruit more snakes into the neighborhood. I hate mice.

My lab loves deer poop, but he doesn’t throw up from it. The nice thing with labs, is if they need medicine it is not an issue. They will eat it up. Had a small dog with heart problems, was suppose to take a pill every day, but we found out after he had passed, he would hide it and spit it out later. found like twenty pills under the couch when we moved.

Ideally you have a 60 cc syringe on hand (I do have some but at the moment I couldn’t remember where I have them stashed) – about 45 mL for a Lab sized dog squirted into the cheek pouch. Dose is 2 mL/kg of 3% hydrogen peroxide. My method in the field was to have him sit, stuck my fingers in his maw, and squirted the peroxide into the back of his throat, followed by me clamping his mouth shut and massaging his neck to encourage swallowing. I estimate I gave him about 60 mL.

Couple of friends came by yesterday and took some misc games, household goods, etc so thereby reducing the things we are dealing with. Took a load to donation center and even dropped off Calf Dept of Corrections Patches/etc at the local prison, which they actually thanked me for.

Still enough to do but most of the ‘heavy lifting’ is done, other than moving some shelves from the storage units and clearing that so we don’t have to pay for another month.

Think only one thing can stop JJ ( no injury) is a running game
Last year, if he and Kirk would have stayed healthy believe he would have reached it. we had no running game – we had to pass.
Even playing with Mullens, JJ caught a lot of passes.
So, regardless of who plays QB, we’re going to pass the ball and JJ is going to get all he can handle.

IF the O-line improves, and Darnold is comfortable, he can deliver the ball. That said, teams will scheme to take JJ away, so to get him the ball will take both good game-planning, and good QB play. I hope and pray that we get our passing scheme built in a way that makes Darnold better. He has a career completion percentage of 59.7 and a career passer rating of 78.3. Folks think he has “untapped potential”. Dunno, but that’s everyone’s hope.

True, but on the other hand, he has gotten his numbers because he had a QB willing to stand in the pocket and take a beating, while delivering the ball into very tight spaces. I honestly don’t see a QB on our roster at the moment that can do that.

But….. o-line improves. They just don’t seem to run block well.
Now, our bread and butter plays are deep crosses with drag routes. Do you think KOC really wants to run the ball much.
And, if you really want to run the ball well, put your QB under center.
And, teams have been trying to double and take JJ away for a couple of years.
If Mullens could get the ball to JJ well, see no reason why any of our QB’s won’t be able to.
And if I’m KOC, I’m passing the ball 70% of the time – why not?
Just a couple of thoughts.
How you been?

Reply to  JRobert
26 June 2024 9:13 am

Mullens can get the ball out of course, but he doesn’t see defenses well. That’s why he throws so many interceptions. Having athletic ability, and having it between the ears, and also being able to take hits and still deliver the ball, is rare. I don’t think any of our current QB’s can do that. Just my opinion. I have always said KOC doesn’t use timing routes and slants very much, and puts a big load on the QB’s ability to process, and deliver the ball accurately. Gonna be interesting to see if he sticks with that this year.

I’m busy, and also my sister requires somewhat constant care and attention. So, not much time to blog.

All well here, Good look with sister.
KOC – he has little choice at this time. We have the highest paid WR, TE and a number 1 draft pick as WR2. We have to pass the ball and these guys aren’t ‘ possession’ type receivers. Got to fling it down the field.

It’s gonna be interesting to see if we can keep passing the ball well. Obviously we have skill position players who can get the job done. I think we’re all curious to see if we can get good QB play out of Darnold. That’s the bottom line. Fingers crossed we can.
