Countdown to the 2026 NFL Draft: 3 more days!
Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Three more days until the circus arrives! Also, happy 420 to those who celebrate. I know I will sleep well tonight.
No idea what the Vikings are going to do this year with the draft. I am still just thankful it will be different with no Kwesi around.
Show us your mocks! I paid no attention to college football until the playoffs, so I know almost nothing. I will still probably yell at the TV several times Thursday night, since that is a thing I do.
Timberwolves and Wild both in the playoffs, for people that watch things in between the NFL season…
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
What’s the secret to a smoking hot body for seniors?
Cremation
I thought it was ‘Chair Tai Chi’ I keep seeing the commercials for it.
Laughing… OK that was too long… didn’t watch it all.
Yeah 20m is a bit much.
But then you can get the idea much quicker than that.
Here is a shorter one, only 44s.
Let’s go Wild.
F Dallas.
F the pukers.
Well, that would be good… as opposed to the alternative.
Hopefully the scouts and coaching staff have a good sense of the players that don’t suck, Kwesi generally didn’t.
Same scouts he had though, right? Color me doubtful of any improvement.
For whatever of ‘Value of Right’ they want to apply.
Dallas extends their kicker for 4 years $28M. Such a well run organization.
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/breaking-news/article/cowboys-reportedly-sign-k-brandon-aubrey-to-4-year-28-million-extension-making-him-highest-paid-kicker-162405511.html
Jerruh having health issues? Caught needing to spend down?
I saw commentary posted online that “defense and a strong running game win Championships” and “games are won in the trenches” so that’s where the Vikings should be focusing their attention in the draft.
Mostly true.
Oh my goodness it IS 4.20!! Too bad I don’t use pot, would have been a fun day! Enjoy yourselves my gummie eating, pot smoking Skoloholic brethren!!!
Ready for another riddle?
I am fruit
I’m also a bird
I’m also a person
What am I?
Crazy??
Laughing… well, crazy isn’t a bird, so no.
Kiwi
Correct!!!
Gay big bird
Laughing… nice.
Maybe yous guys have heard this one, my daughter texted it to me and it made me chuckle:
Q: If aliens made contact with humans on earth and wanted to negotiate a deal who would humanity send to negotiate?
A: Kirk Cousin’s agent
Probably a better option than DJT. Trump would demand that they pay tariffs for access to our markets. #grin
Saw a report that we’ve made $121B on Trump’s tariff’s. They’ve also brought in about $17T in new business commitments to the country, moving manufacturing jobs back from overseas to the U.S. to avoid tariff’s.
Oh yeah, they haven’t crashed the economy and caused a depression like all the liberal politicians and talking heads said they would.
And $166B is going to be refunded.

He’s also wasted American tax payer money and 15 American lives in Iran for absolutely nothing. All to keep little ol Israel happy. I’m suer Syria and Turkey are next.
15 American lives *so far*. Don’t worry there is literally nothing Donald H Christ could do to make some folks stop supporting him. The worst part is the good things he has done are just so overshadowed by his constant open mouth and inserting foot and obviously some of the awful things he’s done and been responsible for.
Actually, the best estimates are that Iran and it’s proxies are responsible for 1,000 American deaths since Iran declared war on America in 1979.
I know, I know that’s not a big deal, only averaging about 37 deaths or so a year….should have just let them keep on, should have let them get a nuke too, Trump is so stupid.
The Iranian regime is unquestionably the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, and every President in the last 40 years has said we need to do something about them, but none ever has. Till now. We have a real leader who is dismantling the threat piece by piece, to attain peace.
This is not how you obtain peace. Its the same play book from the past 30 years…at what point in that time was there any peace in that region? None. Laughable.
What is the solution then?
Join ‘Gays for Palestine’?
There will never be peace in that region. Their beliefs and hatred towards the west will always be who they are.
This is exactly the way, and it’s NEVER been done like this before. Trump is talking prosperity and peace within the region, and rallying nations against the bad actor. Iran’s regime is going to be crushed militarily and financially and ultimately ended. The region will work together towards a far better future. Trump is leading the way to safety, security, prosperity, and peace. Peace through strength.
Iran has been chanting death to America for over 40 years and nobody has ever stood up to them. This isn’t the same play book as the last 30 years.
Those numbers are nice and all, but where is the money going? Inflation has been going back up again, and I’m pretty sure that we’ve got nearly a 40 trillion dollar deficit still. As far as “commitments” go, that’s all they are for now. As far as manufacturing goes, I read and hear about factories closing here and there, but nothing about new manufacturing jobs.
Laughing… inflation is going up… it skyrocketed under Biden, and Trump immediately brought it down, and it’s staying down. And all those commitments are real, and factories are being built right now.
Live in denial all you want. Trump is fixing everything in our economy and making the country better. The liberals are conducting themselves violently to try and stop him and give politicians negative talking points. It’s not gonna work though.
Inflation has come down, but prices are still going up and therefore it’s still more expensive than under Biden. Prices going up at a slower rate is good, but the numbers printed are year to year so even there, Biden had an auto built in safety after a year because there was no way prices would keep going up at the rate they were but they could say that inflation came down so therefore they were doing something good. Just ignore what the 2 or 5 year inflation says. Inflation should always be reported as a year to year and a 5, 10, etc year thing.
So inflation is a normal occurrence in a healthy economy. An inflation rate of 1% to 3% is good. This range is considered beneficial for economic growth, as it indicates a stable economy where prices are rising at a manageable pace.
THAT IS FUNNY!!!
Let’s hurry up and draft…
I keep hearing this position or that position isn’t a position you address in the first round shit… Is that really true? If you can find a superstar at almost any position (offense and defense), isn’t that worth a first round pick? Especially at a position of need?
Well, looks like I’m officially visiting little Somalia, I mean Minnesota, this summer. That should be fun.
Be careful… stay safe.
I totally won’t have a handgun with me since Minnesota doesn’t recognize my Constitutional Carry right.
That is a terrible travesty… our forefathers intended for us to be armed.
I know. I don’t know how I will survive.

Fear mongering is fun!
I have been to downtown Minneapolis a half dozen times in the last couple of years. So sad to see it in it’s present condition…
Stop believing your lying eyes! That’s unloving!
My wife and I used to love going there.
Seriously thinking about selling my Vikings season tickets. I think I would rather pick a road game to go to each year then to go to 2 games in Minneapolis each year. The libs have ruined that place.
Each time I’ve gone back the last few years I’m shocked at how different it is. I feel like I’m warping to a different country when I go some places. I’ve lived a couple of places overseas and it feels just like when I was in those countries.
RIP, we will pray for you and your family.
Thanks, will try to avoid Murderapolis, but we’ll see. The Twins have youth baseball camps I am going to take my kid to for his birthday. Should be able to avoid getting any closer to downtown than the outer suburbs unless we end up going to a game.
You mean Minneapolis, (almost) no Somali’s down here.
It’s all the same. The state has shit statewide laws, therefore the state is shit.
Can’t argue there, and if the Dims get their way it will get worser. Vaccines for everyone, register every firearm and mag, probably go after homeschoolers next.
Been seeing a lot of hogwash about war crimes being spewed by folks who are under informed, or purposefully lying in regards to Trump’s intentions on destroying bridges and power plants in Iran.
Attacking power infrastructure and bridges and such most certainly can qualify as a war crime. But, in order to confirm that, the first step would be to demonstrate each and every one of the incidents was not an attack directed at a military objective. As the DoD Law of War Manual indicates on the subject, “If an object is a military objective, it is not a civilian object and may be made the object of attack”. Throughout history, attacking bridges and power infrastructure has always been a military objective, in every armed conflict. So, the war crimes bit isn’t real. It’s a false commentary being propagated to cast doubt on, and impede the military and the President, by political forces aligned against them. That’s all.
hogwash is in plentiful supply these days…..
Indeed
Weird week for me. Every year for the past maybe 25 years I get really into the NFL draft. I look at mocks and watch film. I set aside the (now) 3 days of the draft to watch it and analyze it.
This year…..nothing. I have cared nothing about it at all. I haven’t looked at a single mock. I don’t know any of the players. I don’t think I’ll even watch the draft (but I wouldn’t be surprised if I cave).
MCCOY CB
Theineman Safety
I may be two on the defensive side they really want to be available at 18. But most mocks have them gone…
‘most mocks have them gone…’
Actually most mocks have Thieneman going to us.
Of course not all of them, but certainly the majority.
I would be good with that.
I would be as well, seems like a Flo type kind guy.
Greenard for #54??
Not a 1st Rounder but close.
https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/schefter-jonathan-greenard-trade-still-133424728.html
When you trade a known for an unknown, you’re taking a chance. Who at #54 is a potential pro bowler?
Every player in the draft is a Potential Pro Bowler.
The trick is knowing which ones actually accomplish it.
I like Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State, 6’6″, 256 lbs, 9.96 RAS currently rated about #75.
Yep… you’re betting on potential, versus a proven performer. If you’re wrong, you lose a proven player, and end up with a lesser one.
The draft is always a crap shoot, so when folks go ga ga over getting draft picks for a player, I tend to view it as a risk, not a given reward.
Like your mother always told you on your way out the door to school, “make good choices”.
We are already losing the ‘proven performer’ as his salary requests are more than we are willing to pay.
He would basicly be a one year player and then do the ‘soft hold out’ ala Hock, we have other options at the position.
mondays are way better than tuesdays…
i’ll fight you on this.
I’m retired. Every day is Saturday.
I keep thinking it is Saturday and I am wrong 6 out of 7 times a week. #grin
Hey NLNV, tried out the “shoulder turn chip” yesterday.
Overall for first time trying it seemed helpful. As Phil says you still need to use your wrists with shoulder turn…right away I wasn’t really doing that but I got the hang of it. Works pretty well for me from the 5 to 30 yard range. Those really tight chips are still a problem for me.
Booked an 85….good score for first time out. BUT they had all the par 3 tees at the front of the ladies boxes, which certainly helps. Excited to go again today.
Nice. Glad to hear it helped. I also say “Alabama” in my head on pretty much all my shots, including chips and putts. It keeps me in the same rhythm for every shot, and also takes my mind off other things. Be relaxed, swing in rhythm, and focus on your target. Those elements are important.
I cant remember what day it is, nor do i care
The Cards are paying Murray $35.5M this year and are scheduled to pay Brissett $4.88M for being their starting QB. Brissett said ‘Uh, No’ and is starting a holdout by not attending their offseason workout program. Is QB in the ‘Cards’ for Arizona this draft??
https://thevikingage.com/minnesota-vikings-fans-help-laugh-cardinals-qb-trouble-after-kyler-murray-release
Brissett is nowhere near good enough to be holding out, though he does deserve more money if he is the unquestioned starter, which I’m not sure he is, Gardner Minshew is just as good, only thing Brissett has on him is he knows the offense already. I’d just start Minshew and let Brissett sit out.
OK… a TE? With our first pick?
Some think he is ‘all that’ and would be worth it. I believe there will be better options for us but of course I have no idea what the current braintrust has in mind. They did bring him in for a Top 30 visit recently so maybe.
I hope not
According to some people could be Ham’s replacement, line up in the slot as a wide reciever 3, be part of a 3 tight end alignment where the defence didn’t know if he was in to run block, pass block, or be a relief valve. Very fast with lots of YAC in college.
6’3″ and 241 lbs. Runs a 4.39 forty. Hmmmm…
Ham’s replacement???????
Short yardage blocking/running. Probably not special teams though.
If the TE is a Kelcie level talent that I am good with it.
Well… OK
Not a bad depth option, he knows the system and Flo knows what he has in him.
Yeah, I don’t know. He earned a 45.1 overall PFF defensive grade in the 2025 season, 77th among 88 qualified linebackers. His coverage grade of 29.9 ranked 85th among 88 qualified linebackers. His run-defense grade of 56.2 ranked 70th at the position. His pass-rush grade of 72.5 ranked 16th among qualified linebackers though. He recorded 32 solo tackles on the season, and he generated 14 total pressures including 1 sack as a blitzer. He allowed a 121.8 passer rating when targeted in coverage, which is bad.
Overall IMO he’s pretty much a one trick pony on defense, as a blitzer.
Good morning all… and SKOL.
Here’s a riddle to get your brains going.
When you need me, you throw me away
But when you’re done with me, you bring me back
Correct! I was thinking GF might get this one first.
