I think this team is capable of achieving that score, but for some reason we tend to slightly underachieve somewhat routinely. Thus my somewhat conservative prediction. Would be awesome to live up to our potential for once.

I read the squirrel bit someone, and was euthanized to check for rabies. The video of the owner appears to reveal a far more insidious side of this. The owners are Trump supporters, Did they have to be treated the way they were? Sitting outside for 5 hours, while officials searched their home? It was all done “legally” with search warrants signed by a judge, but this looks like a massive overreach here. I think a huge lawsuit may be in the works.
The squirrel bit someone when they came in to ‘take him into custody’. So why does it take 12 federal agents with a warrant to pick up one squirrel and raccoon?? Seems like more is going on?
It might have had to do with the raccoon since they found raccoons with rabies ‘in the area’. I had never heard of the squirrel until all this happened.
No Federal Agents should have been involved if I understand the situation correctly. This engagement was conducted by the State of New York, not the Feds.

I read that and could not tell if they were talking about overseas bases or not.
Overseas bases would be more problematic getting the ballots to the servicemen/women in time to mail in their votes.
Elections happen every four years. Making sure there are enough absentee ballots for the base population is not exactly a logistical nightmare. I voted from Bosnia one year for God’s sake.
Even in US bases most vote in their Home Of Record, mine was Calif all of my career.
Yes, I have been a legal resident of Florida for decades, but have been stationed many places both OCONUS and stateside outside of Florida. The military absolutely tracks your home of record.

Weird that he would say anything like that. Yes, our passing offense is 17th in the league in yards per game, but only six teams have thrown for more TD’s than us, and all of them have played 8 games, to our 7 (and one team, the Jets, has played 9 games).
Justin himself is third in the league in yards, and 4th in TD’s amongst receivers, so it’s not like he’s having a terrible year.
Just kind of weird to hear him acting like the offense needs to be changed.
I got from it that KOC was dialing up complex plays to get people open and now they will lower the complexity and trust/allow the player’s skill to do more to provide that opening.
Still doesn’t make much sense.
Unless they are just talking about the one game against the Rams.
Mayhaps it has to do with quicker routes due to the lowered complexity?
The loss of CD could cause them to examine the passing attack with that in mind.

We all know that KOC brought his “adaptive passing scheme” to the Vikings, where receivers are required to read the defense, and adjust their routes in-flight. This is very hard to do, and also the QB ends up holding the ball at times, waiting to see how the receiver is going to react to the defense. Justin might be saying “look if the play calls for me to run a stick route, I can run a stick route and win on it”.

Laughing… that first part made no sense to me, and I read it three times. The rest sounds great. I went and hit a small bucket of balls this morning just to get the blood flowing. First time I’ve been to the range in probably 25 years. Took the car to the carwash, and yes, I vacuumed the inside and the trunk too. Came home and made some creamed chipped beef on English muffins, with coffee and orange juice. Gonna relax today, and enjoy some football.

I could be wrong, but I think they made this move before we lost to the Rams, anticipating we would at least be tied for the Division lead, and “a team to watch”. With the Lions and the Packer playing today, one of those teams will be 6-2 and one will be 7-1. Had we beaten the Rams, we would be right there as a team to watch, after the Lions and the Packers played in the 4:25 p.m. game.

Been a busy morning. Read with interest the discussion of the Supreme Court from earlier this morning. Can’t say I quite understand all the thinking.
But was wondering, and after spending a few years in DC, wasn’t John Roberts appointed by George Bush. Yet, in “conservative circles “around the Beltway, he is considered as one of the worst appointees ever. A total disappointment.
I totally was under the presumption that a lot of their voting was party lines. It’s not. I still hate the idea of one president let alone one side to get to appoint almost half or more of the justices…
But I have the same amount of fear of Harris getting to appoint even 1 lol.
In my opinion. it’s not the Justices, and who appoints them, or the Supreme Court in general that is the real problem.
Congress, and legislative bodies, should write law and if they can’t reach enough consensus to create law, then so be it. We should not then expect the Court to do it. All sides should not want this.
Similarly, under very divided conditions, we do not want the President issuing Executive Orders and Federal Agencies creating defacto laws thru regulation. Both sides should not want that either.
This is on the other two branches of government.
Bingo. Congress needs to stop righting laws that simply say, such and such government body, with no oversight by the American people, shall write rules governing blah, blah.
The Supreme Court ruled against the EPA in a pretty big case recently on this issue. Need Elon in there to clean house. Government agencies could probably be cut by at least 50%. A ridiculously his percentage of the “job growth” in the Biden/Harris administration has been government employees. The recent jobs report was almost all growth due to government jobs while manufacturing lost almost 50,000 jobs. Those numbers need to be reversed

Throughout the Hebrew Bible, breath is the essence of human life (ruah & nefesh mean “breath” & are used to refer to “life”) & fetuses are treated as property, not persons. Because of influence from Greek philosophy, Hellenistic Jewish folks adopted the Aristotelian notion of the soul entering the body at the quickening. Early Christians debated Greek concepts of ensoulment, ultimately agreeing with the Aristotelian concept (until 19th century).
Jeremiah 1: 4-5 would be another good one.
Jeremiah 1:5, which indicates God knew Jeremiah before his conception. In addition to the fact that this was an exceptional claim, it doesn’t remotely indicate they thought of fetuses as having personhood.

In my mind people should be sane enough to realize there will never be consensus but at least most people should agree that abortion up to and past birth is wrong. I can separate my personal beliefs with what is politically possible. I believe abortion is wrong no matter what, but I also realize that a 36 week ban with exceptions is going to save more babies than trying to ban it outright and getting nowhere.

My believes and religion aside, doesn’t science now say at X weeks a fetus can feel pain, hear music, understand it’s mother’s voice etc.

Please give this a view. Because you are reading and adding your own thoughts into things that aren’t actually said. That passage says nothing about contraception, you are having to add that. You have this very literally approach to the constitution but then add read into the Bible a lot. Again, I am not some crazy all out abortion advocate. This guy does a very good job covering the actual history and actual translations of this topic.
I’m just saying that passage literally is one that churches will use to say contraception is bad. I never said I agree with that stance by the church either, but if God knows you before you are born then using contraception is working against the will of God. It all comes back to the same point in my mind though. Somewhere there is a line. Where is that line? It is different for everybody. Somewhere between semen and eggs to breathing. I think fetal vitality is somewhere most people could agree on. If you don’t believe in contraception, don’t use it. If you want to sleep around or an accident happens and have an abortion, then use Plan B or do it early.
Just like this one. The line is different for everybody. As intended with the construction of our government, compromise could be reached, but you can’t run on an issue if it isn’t an issue.

Oh, politicians have most definitely high jacked it. If they, both sides, didn’t want to keep running on it, a middle ground could be reached yesterday. Like 70% of the country agrees with some level of restriction with medical exemptions. Ok, had to get some 9v batteries to change the smoke alarms out.
Went to local Bi-Mart and got batteries and looked at ladders.
12′ (minimum required) is $124 there, up to $250 at Lowe’s/Home Depot.
Since we expect to only need it for one day we will check rentals of 14’s.
Then we can do everything we need a taller ladder for, some cleaning/decorating.
Came home and changed the first battery and now sweet silence.
We will change other other 6 lower ones and then plan for that sucker up about 18 ft.
You should have just bought the taller ladder.
You could decorate your cathedral ceilings for Christmas.
All options are being debated at this point.
We know it has to be done, don’t want to be awoken early in the morning like that again.

I saw an add in SD where their angle on the add was a teacher saying she wasn’t comfortable talking to students about weather or not they should get an abortion so say No on this bill… I mean… You could just say, “Hey kid, sorry what you’re going through but I don’t feel comfortable talking about this with you.” The way in which both sides are attacking right now sincerely worries me. IF the adds I have seen from either are an indication of what works and people think make a good argument for why they should vote it doesn’t matter who wins, we’re in trouble. One of the thing that really makes me not want Trump to win is the Supreme Court. It shouldn’t be full of one party or the other. That is a problem, like a huge problem. Especially when 3 of the justices Trump has already put all ruled last summer in favor or supporting political corruption and pro-politician bribery. We can’t have this and expect anything to get better, hell we can expect the corruption to get even worse. Trump and his right wing justices are here for it.
They can only rule based on the constitution and not what they think is simply right or wrong. At least if they’re honest judges. At least the conservatives on the court can tell you the difference between a man and a woman.

Here’s the actual law for you to read. Be forewarned, there’s some big words. The law specifically says there needs to be corrupt intent. The case in question involved supposed after the fact tipping that they claimed was not agreed upon before the contract nor expected. The law specifically exempts certain payments as well from prosecution, of which tips are not one. The law needs to be amended to include tips. The guy shouldn’t have been convicted in the first place, even though he shouldn’t have taken the payment and quite frankly I’m sure there was a wink, wink, nod, nod beforehand, but to convict somebody in the United States, the prosecutors needed to show that corrupt intent since he is presumed innocent and therefore the presumption is that there was no corrupt intent unless proven otherwise.

I believe we all agree that what he did is unethical. But the law the prosecution used to sentence him to 21 months in jail said nothing about gratuities. Had they proven he knew he was going to get something in return, then it would be a bribe, and illegal.
One of the first differences between the left and the right was, and still is, the belief of how the constitution should be interpreted. Some are strictly word for word what it says. The left tends to want to imply things based on what the think the framers meant or wanted. There should be some interpretation of intent in the case of truly constitutional matters because the Constitution is quite old, but the Constitution is not supposed to cover specific, small issues. That’s why there is a line that specifically says that anything not addressed in the Constitution itself is left to the states to decide. That’s where the Roe V Wade thing came in. The Supreme Court decided that the Founding Father’s meant to include it in some part. The reversal was simply an acknowledgement that the Constitution does not address it, therefore it is a state issue unless there is a Constitutional amendment. This guy getting off on this is like a cop watching a drug dealer, who deep down you know is a drug dealer, but you can’t do anything because you don’t have real hard evidence. The prosecutor was lazy or just overreached. Everybody knows the guy was shady at best, but the alternative is government overreach that prosecutes people for other things that aren’t technically in the law. You don’t want to poke a hole in that dam so the alternative is to do your work as a law enforcement officer or prosecutor or where there are blatant loopholes in laws then the legislature needs to get involved and fix it.
I lean to the strict interpretations typically (and probably obviously), but that has been shaped through experience. It is also why I feel all gun restrictions are a violation of constitutional rights. The Constitution says “shall not be infringed” which is pretty clear to me. Considering that the 2nd Amendment was put right there at the top with the intent of people being able to overthrow the government if necessary, we quite literally should be allowed to own tanks and anything the government has. The government is supposed to be afraid of the people, not the other way around. Now, I’m not calling for anything, but as the Don says, peace through strength. If you’re afraid of an uprising, then don’t take people’s rights and freedoms away and sell your soul to the highest bidder. If fair rules are written and the government doesn’t overreach by enacting laws without the input of Congress, then there will be no issues or the issues will be so small they will be easily tamped down.
If you want gun control, there are ways to achieve that through a Constitutional Amendment. Anything less is unconstitutional. The Supreme Court has decided different, I accept it to a point, but I don’t have to agree with it.
I think it comes down to the individual on either side. Lumping everyone together doesn’t hold up. The Moral Majority was clearly a conservative movement and they wanted books band and wanted to tread all over free speech. Then of course you have Tipper Gore leading the charge in the 90s with the parental advisories. So I think as most things in life it comes down the individual. I think you can find folks on both side who take it literally and folks who infer.
There’s going to be some crossover, but the difference in interpretation is very common and was some of the founding tenants of different political parties. Most liberals have no problem and expect legislation from the bench. That’s why they write vague rules so they can just have one of their judges interpret it the way they want when the time comes.

It looks to me like it is possibly a situation where the law specifically defines what a bribe is and if there is no expectation of money and a tip happens after the fact that it is exempt because of the language of the law. If that is the case then the statute needs to be reworded and include gratuities or the definition of bribe should be reworded to include gratuities. Just because something is obviously wrong doesn’t mean the idiots in congress write a rule that makes sense. I could tell you about numerous ridiculous laws written by people who don’t know what they’re doing. At one point in Wyoming, there was a regulation that specifically said you could own an owl and a separate regulation that specifically forbade it.

Kindred spirits. I was awakened at 2:30 am on Monday morning when the alarm in the hallway started beeping. In my experience, they always beep in the middle of the night. Similarly, we have ten foot ceilings so I sleepily replaced the battery.
I should replace them all this weekend with the dreaded switch to MDT, dark af when I leave work, followed a month later by dark when I go to work as well. The tight ass in me hates to replace functioning batteries but the safety conscious person in me thinks climbing a stepstool at 2 am is not ideal.
