my grocery budget has almost tripled in the last 4 years.
my wife cuts coupons. goes to 3 or 4 different grocery stores (walmart, aldi, cub, etc) and with the coupons and finding cheaper options at different stores, saves maybe $15 a week. and that’s hard work.
it’s only going to get worse.

On a different note. For all of you degenerate hippies on here, I ran across a book called, “Marihuana, the First Twelve Thousand Years” by Ernest Abel. Apparently it’s an informative book as the going price for it is around $90 even though it was published in 1980. Because Edge would want me to do this, I may need to organize a book burning party.
Because I am interested in the topic, I downloaded the PDF version and will read it without paying $90
So it’s available as PDF? Thanks, off to look for the book.

we had a WAYYYYY worse team last year both offensively and defensively and we only lost 30-24 and 30-20. we didnt get boat raced. and the Lions faced a Vikings defense that was a SHELL of the defense it is now..

Just a reminder that life is precious and we are not promised tomorrow. I have a cousin-in-law that is about my age (60ish). We see him and my cousin probably 5 to 10 times per year, depending on what family events are going on. He owns his own business and is in fit shape and we have never heard of him having any serious medical issues other than having his leg in a cast once because he had an accident. I haven’t heard all of the details, but on Monday he was in the hospital under observation for high blood sugar and he had a stroke. They have moved him to Rochester, but as of this morning they have placed him on comfort measures. My understanding as of Tuesday, they couldn’t stop the bleeding in the brain. My cousin’s sister is with her at the hospital, but in her own word’s to me my cousin said, “I’m a wreck.” Probably the understatement of the year.

For some reason this is hitting close to home for me. It’s not like we were super close, but we are the same age and he was healthier than I am and out of the clear blue, Bam! His step daughter said that if he survives, which isn’t looking likely, he won’t be himself anymore because of the brain damage.
Again, so sad. Feel for you.
Thanks VP this is a timely reminder for me…we are going through some difficult times at work….but in the end work doesn’t really matter much.
