VIKINGS NEWS – The latest injury report has Addison and Smith listed as DNP on Thursday. For the Niners, McCaffrey was limited but they are expected to take it cautiously with him.
NFL News – Tua got another concussion in last night’s game against the Bills. Hopefully he’s alright, but that’s getting to be a lot of blows to the noggin.
The Bills beat the Dolphins 31-10 in a very lopsided Thursday night affair.

I used to be decent at ‘foosball’, not pro level but beat a guy who used to make the tables, he was quite surprised.

My wife is an Aggie, and we live in Florida, so I’ll give you three tries to guess which game we’re gonna watch.
When I worked Nuke Security we had a table in each guard reaction shack. So lot of time to practice, especially during the night shifts.
Got good at Pinocle the same way, double deck both that silly single deck stuff.
Oregon at Oregon St should be a decent game.
Texas vs UTSA will be a snoozer with UT favored by 36.5.
My buddy lived in Oregon for quite some time and as a college football fan I would routinely watch the Civil War – usually the night or day after the traditional Nebraska Black Friday game. I’ll keep an eye on that one too.
Oregon favored by 17 but at St + the rivalry should make it close.
This is why whenever people start quoting college player stats for the draft, I roll my eyes. Some of these guys are playing against guys who are basically total underlings, with zero chance.
Manziel had good college stats, didn’t work out quite so well in the Pros.
From my old pitching days, much easier time going against a group of 200 hitters versus a team stacked with 300 guys.
Indeed… when you can be up by 52 to 7 at halftime, it’s a certainty that you’re gonna have some great stats.
Yep the quality of the competition is a pretty big factor.
Down in Palm Beach area this weekend visiting daughter. Went out to lunch with SIL and drove right by Palm Beach Airport where Trump parks his plane. Had done so few months back, and you could have used a shotgun from the road and hit that plane.
Now, a huge horse shoe of school buses surrounds the plane’s parking spot. Not ideal, but much better.
And, it is really hot down here.

Errands done. Goose to the dog park, Goose to the old folk’s home. Goose gets a pup-cup. Goose gets a second pup-cup after excitedly knocking the first one out of dad’s hand and onto the center console. In reality, Goose got two pup-cups – and then tried to eat the Armor All wipe I used to clean the console.
Laundry done. Work calendar prepped – I’m a big deal, I have a calendar. Trainings all next week. Safe Space training (I’ve been deemed an ally) Suicide Prevention/Awareness training, Sexual Harassment/Sexual Assault Prevention/Awareness Training, and of course….. DEI training (UNL Chancellor just recently announced the scuttling of the DEI office, causing a sizable uproar, but the training is still in use)
College foosballs all day. I’ve got Bama/Wisconsin, Memphis/FSU, LSU/South Carolina and Mizzou/BC on the multi-view right now.
Be watching A&M/Florida and West Virginia/Pitt this afternoon.
Get to watch my beloved Huskers kick the snot out of Kurt Warner’s alma mater this evening.
Got homemade meatballs in the croc pot and a tray of ham & swiss cheese sliders (on King’s Hawaiian pretzel buns) waiting for the oven. Red pepper hummus and HyVee deli pita chips to snack on.

Freshly back from the golf course. Just played 9 holes, and had a nice round. Haven’t hit a ball in months, so I didn’t hit a driver all day. Just played steady Eddie golf, keeping it in play. Shot a nice 41, with 4 pars and 5 bogeys. Missed a 5 footer on the first hole for par, so could have been that much better.
That’s really good golf. Congratulations. Guess that running around the house all day after the wife really helps.
Laughing. I played with an older guy and his son who I had played with last year. Great guys and had fun with them. We had a fourth who was an older guy too, and he was also fun. The course wasn’t crowded and we were one of the first groups out, so we played fast. I prefer that. Four guys who don’t hit foul balls can get around pretty quickly.

There is nothing boring about working in prison.

I’m not sure if the Vikings are lucky or unlucky. If we were a college team, we played the “Little Sisters of the Poor” week one, and then drew Georgia week two. Quite a contrast.
Well, it appears the Vikings got a “warm up” game to start the season. It was a totally dominant performance, that will have them feeling confident going into week two. This matchup is the real deal though, and a measuring stick for us. At least we “think” we’re pretty good, and we can compete with the 49ers right now. That mindset is important as opposed to the alternative, had we lost to the Giants by three scores.
Understand that – would have preferred a couple more weeks before we went this far up the food chain.

Yes they did. With all the weapons that Miami had, I was surprised they didn’t score more points.
It did. They crushed the Dolphins O-line in the passing game.
I was driving so listened to it, didn’t get to see it but it seemed like the Dolphins weren’t doing anything to adjust or help their OL out either. That’s on the Coaching.
I watched the game, and the Dolphins ran the ball very well. In fact they had as many rushing yards (139) as Allen had passing yards. Truly the difference in the game were the turnovers. Tua was getting creamed on one and as he was going to the ground, tried to throw it away out of bounds. Unfortunately, there was a defender there who picked it off and scored. He had a pass deflect off wide receiver Grant DuBose and be intercepted by cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram early on. That wasn’t a terrible throw. He threw it low and away to try and squeeze it into a heavily blanketed receiver, but the ball bounced up in the air, and was picked off.
His other interception in the second quarter, he threw a ball to Robbie Chosen that cornerback Christian Benford picked off. It looked to me like Chosen messed up on the route. He was looking sheepish on the sideline afterwards.
Doesn’t sound like Robbie picked the right new last name.

If you watch the replay, he doesn’t look like he knows the route and kind of stops, looks around, and sees the ball go to the defender.
Bit crazy Buffalo became a better team when they stopped passing the ball.

Tua threw 3 terrible interceptions that let to 17 points.
Might be able to blame the receivers if you want, but turning the ball over that much is almost an automatic loss.

The stretch from Fargo to St. Cloud is one of the worst stretches of highway I’ve driven.
But going into the Cities, I would think it’s better than the people leaving the Cities for the weekend, right?
Probably. I’ve never driven 94 south of St. Cloud actually. Part of my hatred of that stretch is probably the fact that I’ve already driven across Montana and North Dakota at that point and just want to be at my destination.
The worst stretch of highway though is from Casper to Shoshoni. It’s like 40 miles and I swear it somehow takes 3 hours at 70 mph.

He is an expert actually and is usually right. He is on NFL radio multiple times a week, was the team doctor for the Chargers and has started an entire business evaluating sports injuries based on video evidence. Quite frankly, he is the go to guy for sports injury information.

i think the rule of calling a qb down where he STARTS his slide, is to blame for tua’s concussion.
I think I know where you’re going and because of Rodgers, they made the rule the same for a QB going head first too so there is no benefit for them to go head first compared to feet first.
if he slid feet first on that play, he’d be fine.
he went head first, which i think qb’s do thinking they get more yardage, and he got jacked up.

If that’s what he thought then he’s an idiot because the rule has been that the ball is spotted where he begins his dive for a couple years now. He’s also an idiot just for going head first with a history of head injuries. He hit Hamlin. Hamlin let up knowing the play was over and Tua headbutted his chest. It’s time for him to hang em up before the only thing he can eat is mashed potatoes and apple sauce.
Many a young man has thought himself invincible, only to find out differently.
That is also a challenge with running qbs, they forget the other value they have to the team and try to act like a running back.
Yeah, but Tua has never been a “running qb”. He’s always been a pocket guy with the ability to escape more. Most of his injuries have taken place in the pocket. He is just not blessed with the anatomy to absorb hits like most players or he’s just really unlucky. Either way, this has got to lead to some serious retirement consideration. I would guess he comes back, but man that would be hard to do.
I’d retire. Just go fishing, hopefully there isno permanent damage.

It wouldn’t have made a difference if the refs properly spot the ball. He already had the first down so he should have just slid.

I guess the adrenaline of the situation overruled any good sense in that moment.
It appeared like he actually lowered his head and was using his head to drive into the defender to push him back, He’s not a running back.
