I thought that with Pederson and Lawrence they would be good. Won’t shock me if Peterson is fired before the end of the year.

Goddamn I cannot describe how good it is to be 3-0….

I want more – I want to roll into that dump on Lombardi avenue and kick FTP’s ass up and down the field next Sunday.

I want to see Aaron Jones go off against the Puker defense – gashing his way at will.

I want Jets to pop the ‘Cheese Griddy’ after burning Jaire Alexander early and often.

And I want BFlo and the boys to harass Jordan Love all day long and make him regret coming back from injury… or ever picking up a football.

I see the oppotunistic Kfey wondered about my wear abouts. First my children and now Fkey. I’m back in SoFL working on a deal, small stuff just to keep old guy busy.
And Fkey wondered about my football and no comments. I’m pretty sure I was the guy on this site that predicted Sam would be playback player of the year ( although he hasn’t been injured).
And I believe I also said with a balanced offense and a stout defense – which we have – we are as good as anyone and could go to the SB.
Thus, the future is now. And I believe right now, we are the best team in the NFL. Best roster or not, I don’t care, we are playing the best football.
So, Fkey, I’m getting old – refresh me on your prediction(s) for the team this year. Certainly the latest one will be better than the previous couple.

Its not opportunistic, you call me out, I call you out. You werent here, I wasnt here. Pot meet kettle. The names Kfey, not FKey, its not play back player of the year is come back player of the year and I dont recall you making an actual win loss prediction so you are leaving things open ended. I had a prediction of 7 wins before the season started liable to change upon seeing games. We look like the best team in the NFC for sure. If we man handle GB, 11-12 wins is not out of the realm of possibility. There’s going to be come clunkers, and I need to see how we play against good teams on the road.

P.S. Kirks sucks and is overpaid and I take massive Joy in watching Atlanta deal with his garbage instead of us. SKOL

I believe I asked you a question about a post where you refenced something. I merely asked for the reference. I can recall you doing that to to others many times. I was not like days later, maybe a couple of hours.
Sorry, if I mis typed your call name. Given the way you trash others, it seems rather small, but if it’s that big to you I apologize.
True, I didn’t post an actual number of games won and I don’t care if it’s 11. 12. 0r whatever – just enough to get to SB
I won’t even address your usual Cousins crap. I simply find Joy in bigger things.
I don’t really argue much with you about football anymore. I’ve come to believe if the gulf of what you think you know versus what actually is were water, you could float the fleets of every navy that has existed since the beginning of time.
Give it to you for knowledge of liguors and IT stuff.

Another season on the couch?

We had a big kid at the prison, was an athlete but had let himself go and lost a lot of muscle tone. Still thought he could do ‘athletic things’.
Went to grab a full laundry cart and move it with one arm. His muscle popped out right by his elbow. Kind of gross to see.
Seems like all that down time The Couch has the last few years isn’t doing him any favors, other than his pocketbook that is.

Amazon has transformed our Glendive lives in just the two decades we were gone. We used to make a dawn run to Billings every 3-4 weeks, hit every major store, back to Glendive with china food in the cooler for supper. Don’t miss those 440 mile round trips.

Just in the last week I ordered a featherboard for my table saw, a peel for the pizza oven, a new grass deflector for my riding mower, and an adaptor for a pol fitting on a 100 pound propane tank. That’d take me three hours to track down in Billings.

That is a nice drive. Much nicer now since it is a 4 lane highway. Way back in the day we used to travel that way when it was 2 lane and we had to go through every tiny town along the way. Our church camp is outside of Shawano and back when my dad was pastoring, we made that trip at least twice a year. I’m starting to go down memory lane again. When we had to drive through Wausau we would stop at Little Black Sambos to eat. If we go that way we still stop in Abbottsford at the Hawkeye Dairy store for ice cream cones. And of course the memory of being yelled at for making out in the church van.

Starter was throwing a 1 hitter, then gave up a double with two outs.
Baldeli pulled him, reliever gave up a walk and a homer, twins down 3-2.
Next inning bullpen gave up 6, so I stopped following it at that point.

Many of his pitching decisions are head scratchers.
Is that hindsight on my part?
I know he is working with a patchwork pitching staff.
Sometimes it works well and the bats go to sleep.

Not a big fan of him, but I think most of the blame goes to ownership this year. They had a team that was ready, imo, but instead of adding payroll, they actually cut payroll. Don’t kid yourself, ownership has the money to do this, but decided not to.

I get it. It’s far too early for speculation season but the fact remains that JJ will not have taken a snap in a “real” football game when the season starts in 2025, and there is a significant risk of meniscal re-tear. Easy for me to make the call of starting JJ game 1 with Mullens the backup…or pick up a journeyman to take the reins until JJ can take over…but I think Darnold is more than just a product of the system. Glad I don’t have to make the call cuz if we catch fire in a bottle and let him walk while our “rookie” has a season ending injury there will be some sportswriters scratching their heads and second guessing the front office and O’Connell.

‘sportswriters scratching their heads and second guessing the front office and O’Connell’

We care about ‘Sportswriters’ all of a sudden??

If Sam does very well all season he will want a large, multiyear contract. So we will have to choose, big money vs roll with JJ.
Unless we get s Superb Owl with Sam I am willing him walk ala Keenum, get the comp pick and let JJ be JJ.
We will have to have a decent vet as back up in case of injury no doubt.

I dont think the risk is significant for reinjury, thats why they did the type of surgery they did, so its right and good for the long run. He’s going to have to play eventually and take his lumps, just like Joey Burr did. And thats fine, the roster around him will be amazing.

I’m loving how Sam is playing, but I’m also confident it’s the system that makes the greatest impact. Sam has made a couple of really dumb decisions trying to do too much instead of just playing the system (almost cost us at the beginning of yesterday’s game).

I’m still excited for JJ Mac. I think the kid’s going to be special, not just in talent but also as a leader. Sam will get a good opportunity elsewhere I’m sure.

Last time I was in Door County, June of 2002, it rained almost the whole time. This time we had perfect weather, full sun. It was actually a little too hot and with the humidity it didn’t cool off much at night. We stayed at a great VRBO, was a nice time.

Even made it through the Twin Cities with minimal hassle thanks to my assistant Googlable Maps.

Punched out 800 miles from Ephraim to Bismarck on Thursday, was my call…but the days I could shrug off a 13 hour slog are behind me, my eyes felt like twin pissholes in the snow. Fell asleep in the RV by 8:30 pm, slept through to 6:30.

We stayed in a VRBO on the north end of Ephraim, about 3/4 mile from Wilson’s ice cream, up the hill. Very secluded. Three suites. Since we drove the RV, made my buddy’s wife do all the driving in their Honda minivan (she won’t let him drive). I felt like a king!

Did a lot of biking in Peninsula state park, seeking out sunsets on the bay, eating fish, etc…

Since I am a big nerd, I have an affinity for attracting other nerds. The owner of the property lives there in the winters, spends summers in Sister Bay. He had a big “instruction book” for the place with a couple of optional “pay it forward” items (load and start the dishwasher and strip the sheets and toss them in the washer) on the list. I personally love that but the wives ya know they’re all like that’s dumb we are paying a $300 cleaning fee. Not a big deal for me – now if he insisted we wash the sheets and remake the beds I would balk.

When I talked to him on the phone, he mentioned that he would stop by every day to do light yard work and feed the critters, water the plants. I love early morning chores so I told him I would take care of the yard. I was out there feeding the birds and chipmunks when he rolled up, we visited for about half an hour, bonded in our nerdly fashion. My wife was LOL’ing.

Any word on injuries? I hear Sam is getting an MRI but it is just being careful.
Didn’t get the game but in the thread it sounded like both OTs went out for a bit.
If they both came back in I would hope that is a good sign.
Injuries are my biggest fear with this team at this point although we have dealt with them well so far i.e. Addison, Turner, Pace, not to mention Hock and Risner.

Sam appeared to be fine, every team has and goes through injuries. This is where depth and coaching come in to play and sperate the meh teams from the great teams. Addison is going to be week by week for the rest of the season imo, high ankle shit can linger and easily get re aggrivated. Hock may or may not be back by the London game based on some things iv read. The two tackles going out is worrisome a bit but they both did get back out there. Bradberrys knee is messed up and he was playing through it but having a center with a bum knee is no good. We shall see.

I drank the kool-aid preseason and bet the over when it was 7.5 wins.
Feeling pretty smart so far. I was basing that on an improved defense, and hoping for limited drop off in QB production. Looking like 10 mil for Sam I Am was a very good pickup. I really hope for good news on his MRI today. Mullens at QB, even for 1 play, was so very depressing.

KFEY is right, this is a fairly complete team and very very well coached, which is nice.

Our concerns coming into the season 1. QB 2. Interior Oline 3. Corner Back 4. Interior Dline.

QB is playing at an all pro level.
Interior Oline is not sucking as badly as expected.
Corner Backs seem to be holding their own.
Interior Dline has been fine.

So our expected weaknesses haven’t been very weak..what a pleasant surprise.
