Welcome to a new work week, and welcome to Skolohlics. Our beloved Vikings have finally found out how it feels to taste defeat. Unfortunately, it was a very winnable game, had our offense found a way to get a couple more first downs. Time of Possession doesn’t mean anything if you have an offense that can score at will. We however, do not have that type of offense. We need to have sustained drives, even if we do not score. Our defense showed that they can stop the top offenses, but it can not do it without getting a little bit more rest between possessions.
The defense did everything it could to slow down the very talented Lions offense. But, as I stated they got gassed in the second half. Many will say it is because they blitz at an outrages rate, but I say it is because they were on the field for most of the second half.
Our offense needs to figure it out. We have shown that we do not need to score a lot to win games. We just need to be able to give the defense enough rest, so they can continue to do what they do. Three and outs are not enough time for the defense to catch their breath. Especially when the offense has several in a row. Like I said we don’t have to score on every drive, but a couple of first downs goes a long way.
There were reports of the Vikings having a meeting set up with the San Francisco 49ers, to discuss a possible Jennings trade, but Jennings did not get on the call, saying he wants to be a Viking. Could we have been trying to get Mac Jones?
QOTD:
Should the Vikings be looking at more than just running back before trade deadline?
Let us know in the comments.

QOTD:No big trades. This team has too many gaps to fill.
OL – need to improve RG at the very least
QB – THE weakest link. good thing they got that 5th rounder for JJ. Who else would have been clamoring for JJ if he was still here? That is EXACTLY why they dumped him. They knew that the players and fanbase would have been pounding the table for the other QB, and that is a distraction. KOC effed up big time.
RB – room is average with no game breaker. You are not going to fix 2 of those three things, so roll with what you have.
9-11 wins, if you squeak into the playoff you are one and done again anyways. Fire everyone and rebuid.
I would honestly trade Jefferson now to a contender and get two firsts.
At least I made it into November before giving up on this team. Yes, I know, 6-1 and in first place. Shitty Kyler Murray just proved the pundits correct. HE sucks and this team is going nowhere.
Still are
There are a lot of fundamental issues with this offense. It’s not just one player or area it’s the entire combination of talent on offense and how it fits together to play off its strengths.
WR Room ✔️ solid group more than enough talent.
TE Room ✔️ solid pass catching group could use some blocking prowess but can get by.
RB Room ❌ Mid level talent no threat to a defense for a long run rally and tackle easily gets it done.
QB Room ❌ Simply do not have a starting level QB. Have two back ups at best. No fixing it is what is have to work around it with using other parts of the offense to hopefully give QB something to play off of because they’re not creating many opportunities on their own.
OL Room ✔️ Not great, Not terrible but serviceable with help from hbacks and te’s to get the job done. Any more injuries they become the final straw that will permanently break the offenses back.
So what does Tinsley and KOC do?? After watching our offense lose the game and wear our defense completely out by having 18 less offensive plays and getting lapped in time of possession what can you do to fix this offense? Not going to get another QB anywhere that does not exist. What’s options are there??
Well you can fix one of the ❌ above and if you can’t fix the QB then the running back is your only option. If you can get a RB that helps put the offense ahead of the sticks, picks up 1st downs, keep the ball win the time of possession then suddenly your entire team benefits from it. The QB can play off the run, the skill players have more space separation and less double teams, defense is off the field more.
This is the only answer I see because Wentz or Murray are not fixing anything on their own. Trade for Taylor, fix the running game and hope it is enough to put the rest of the offense in a better position to succeed.
Don’t do anything play out the year, draft a QB and then sit back and see if your star WR wants to keep doing this shit over and over and over again. I wouldn’t.
I’d trade for Taylor and put in Wentz, he at least looked competent when he played
QOTD: Gotta change out the QB. Go to Wentz or bring in a trade.
What do I think of our offense?
QOTD- Vikings need a QB more than anything else, play the big ginger, trade for Mac Jones or Kirk, hell Jimmy garropolo could probably run this offense better than Murray
Amen! Fix the damn offense and it starts with the QB. We are blowing a great opportunity.
How much money do we pay Jefferson and Addison, and Hock for that matter?
Too much if you don’t have a QB who can deliver accurate throws
Niners aren’t trading Jones.
Grapp is horribly inaccurate and washed worse than Wentz or Murray.
There are no good QB options out there plus you have to go through the entire get them up to speed blah, blah, blah…
You’ve got Murray, you’ve got Wentz. Take you pick and try and make it work.
I’d go with the ginger then
i do think SF would be open to trading Jones though, otherwise he’s going to walk in FA for at best a low 3rd comp pick
there really aren’t many options, they’ve backed themselves into the Murray corner and are stuck
That game seemed pretty winnable. I wouldn’t have minded to see Wentz in the second half. What the heck, give it a shot.
Do teams even bench QBs anymore? It seemed like it happened regularly in the 1980s-1990s. If the starter was really sucking it up, they’d throw QB2 in there to see if he could spark anything.
I remember the Vikings doing it. I remember the Bears doing it. I remember one game against the Bears where they put Jim McMahon in, and he promptly threw an 80 yard bomb to Willy Gault and proceeded to kill us.
It seems like that sort of thing never happens anymore…
I remember back in the day the Vikings going between Wilson and Gannon back and forth, same with TK and Wilson
Here’s the story, of a man named Murray
he sucks. The end
