Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
The NFL has released the schedule for the 2026 season. Unreal that they turn that into an event. https://www.vikings.com/news/2026-schedule-opponents-minnesota-nfl I see no losses.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
Once in Vegas, I lost half of my life savings in 30 minutes, still hurts thinking about it…
To this day when I’m in Vegas, I won’t drive anywhere near that wedding chapel.
We got married at that Chapel in Vegas that Elvis got married in, for the movie, not in real life..
We didn’t pay for the whole ‘Elvis Experience’ but we got to see ‘him’ when he finished with the previous couple.
Very cool…
Bunker tip…
Yeah but he didn’t get out of bed till 2 p.m.
I wonder what he does on Tuesdays?
Someone named Julie?
Heavily involved in picking his boss???
It is not unusual in the privatee sector, to be involved in picking your boss. In fact, i always thought it was a good move in order to enhance chances of success.
“Heavily” is a vague term, and i would interpret it with a fair amount of wiggle room.
What could possibly go wrong? cough you scratch my back cough I scratch yours cough cough
Kevin’s seat better be hot AF this year
Won’t be his boss, more and more NFL teams are going with a model where both GM and HC report to the owners or some sort of President of the organization, he didn’t report to KAM, I doubt he’d report to someone new.
For all of you non-golfers out there. Swedish study shows that golfers live an average of 5 years longer than non golfers. That includes the raising blood pressure and rage inducing bad rounds I frequently have….
Because your worst day on the golf course is still better than a good day at the office.
Amen
But your best day on course is still boring AF! Band practice, writing music, working out, basically anything… Better use of time lol.
Band practice, writing music…… oh boy, right up there with watching paint dry for me.
Rocking, riffing, have a drink with the boys, working on new material or practicing the set list. Way better than old man “sport”
Well I am an old man!
But any sport that involves wacking a ball is pretty good.
Used to play in a band. Was a blast. Still work out.
Golf is walking and engages the mind. I am 62 years old and my wife and I wanted a hobby we both enjoy and can continue to enjoy as we age.
She loves golf. It’s something I like. So we golf.
I am 65, wifey is 61. I got her clubs 3 years ago for her bday. First time out she parred a par 3, she has been hooked since
Yeesh, not worth it.
Translation? I don’t care who it is… just get me the damn ball.
Love his attitude and SO many journalists have tried bating him into a sound bite they could dramatize and he’s done a great job of avoiding that.
Agree with that. They do try to bait him every time, and he manages the media well.
Not Tuesday, but whatever.
Gotta hand it to him. Kirko embraces the nerd and has a lot of fun with it.
I thought this was funny.
Laughing… must have been funny to those guys trying to make that. Probably had to do a lot of takes because they were cracking up.
That was funny as shit.
Patriots: “It was a fumble”….dying.
Has this been discussed at all around here? There’s nothing in place to limit what they can or can’t monitor and what they can or can’t do with the data. This is next level Big Brother stuff. smh.

That is really scary.
My F-150 has autonomous driving which I like on the barren interstates I travel on in this region, but it has a camera which alerts if you’re not looking at the road. I have a certain pair of sunglasses that the camera can’t see through, if I forget I get three hours of intermittent “watch the road” alerts.
What happens when you are fleeing a terrible situation and need to haul ass? Someone attacking you, tornado, need to get a pregnant wife to the hospital etc… and your car goes, “Your pupils are dilatated, try breathing exercises and try again in an hour.” lol
Honestly, you are property of the federal government from the moment you get branded with the first number they give you. For most, that is the social security number in the hospital.
Good luck having any freedom at all, if you wanna play the game on their field. They own the land, you cannot (property taxes and eminent domain). Soon you will be taxed for fresh air.
Bottom line, all governments, banks, and politicians could all go away and we would be better off, except for the fact that in that vacuum of control and power, something even worse could rise from the chaos and take over.
People suck.
The end.
MOAR wrongs don’t make a right! Three lefts do!
Currently favored in 8 games, before teams even have a starting roster finalized.
It is too early for Odds to have any real meaning.
The caption of that photo should read “Jefferson admires a tight spiral while assistant coach yells ‘that’s how it’s done, McFragile™'”.
I would bet the over…but I always bet the over.
This article seems to think we did a decent job of fixing the holes in our roster this offseason.

I think there is reason for optimism this year.
Of course, I am both a fan and an idiot, so I feel this way every spring/summer.
I too am a fan and I feel some optimism.
Of course as a Viking Fan I also feel dread that it will all come crashing down at some point.
I will continue the Mantra of ‘Hope for the best but expect the worst’ as it has gotten me thru to this point.
I tend to think all teams have “holes” – very few teams have it all.
But the acquisition of Murray, and he if plays to his talent level, will cure a lot of ills for this team.
“If” is of course a big word here.
Fire Brzizinsky!!
Hi Mom !
How’s it going in heaven?
Miss you!
It’s going to be another 9-8 or 8-9 year
no opportunity at a top 3 draft pick
meh
I’m aiming for “historically bad”. Dante Moore, baby!
Pretty sure the Dolphins have that locked up already
You been hanging out with Kodiak?
His whole bit was calling every season a failure because the Vikings didn’t win a Super Bowl
I don’t see this team as particularly good or bad, just meh
probably a third or fourth place finish
Heh…them’s fighting words with Rob!
8-8-1
The Filbert 33 special
Eh….
Same old same old.
9-8 ish.
Can’t see the Vikings winning the division.
Possible. Just don’t see it.
Since it is so slow a question – a football one, and a Viking one.
I’ve always liked KOC but wonder about something.
Does KOC have what it takes to coach a Super Bowl winning team?
Unknowable until it happens or he retires and it hasn’t happened.
Way to many variables to hazard a guess IMHO.
He can’t seem to coach a playoff game.
So……
That’s what prompted my question.
He has coached two playoff games and I thought both times our teams seemed not prepared and he was out coached.
‘Past Performance Is Not A Gurantee Of Future Results’.
Losing to the Giants was a total debacle, and while losing to the Rams (considering we had lost to them in the regular season) was not horrific, but losing 27-9 in a flat effort was poor coaching.
That is exactly the reason for the question.
Yep.
Kumbaya Kev turns into Klunker Kev in the post season.
It takes a championship caliber roster, talent wise, to win a super bowl.
I am not sure he has that. Not a knock on coaching ability.
First requirement is the talented roster. Second, is adjusting the playstyle and offense around the talent you have.
It’s not about the Xs and the Os but the Jimmies and Joes.
Anyone who has spent enough time coaching realizes that of course a coach can elevate players and a team BUT that only goes so far. It’s crazy how a HS team who has historically been bad all the sudden is a state competitor with a great senior class and then the next year, same coaching staff, they are garbage again lol. And the teams that are always good, their roster is always good.
I think KOC can get the job done if we get to a Super Bowl. So much has to go right in a season to get there though, and number one is health. Injuries can derail your aspirations quickly. The Giants won a Super Bowl with Eli by starting the same five guys on the O-line every game for 3 straight years. That was crazy.
But you have to coach well in playoff games to get to the SB.
Coaching well in the playoffs is kind of a strange thought. You coach all through OTA’s, training camp, and the regular season, but suddenly you’re a different coach in the playoffs? I suppose that’s possible, but I think players themselves play differently. Belichick was famous for telling his players to just do their jobs. There’s usually an inclination to try to make that great play, and end up making a mistake. Coaches need to adhere to that advice too I suppose.
There is at least one huge difference. In the regular season there is always next week. In the playoffs, no tomorrow.
I know it’s hard being patient with this team, but KOC is a heck of a coach that I believe will keep getting better. It’s been 4 years and he’ll only be 41 years old in 10 days. His record with us is 43-27, pretty decent imo. I think it took Bill Cohwer 10 plus years before he won the superbowl in Pittsburgh, but the Rooneys stuck with him. I’m hoping to see a championship sooner than later, but I believe KOC will get it done. Skol!
That is so rare in todays NFL thought, the pressure from the public is multiplied by online communication. Fans are plugged into the team and the front office way more then back then. If you aren’t getting to and winning play off games with in 3-5 years of being a coach, you are usually gone. Regular season wins and stats ring hollow if there’s nothing meaningful (play off/SB wins) that come with them. KOCs seat will be a ball of fire if they dont get to and win a play off game this year.
If this dipshit can…
Was thinking some of him.
Very much believe he is an exception with a roster so stacked he couldn’t even fuck it up – and he tried.
Happy Friday.
FTP!!
GM SoCal. Rec for FTP and first! Looks like we have to step up in the first two games this year and take control of the Division right off the bat. Don’t care for the early bye. I guess if you’re gonna have to play an International game, Mexico is the closest, so not too bad there.
