Phew. Team Canada was down to Czechia late in the 3rd period 3-2 in the quarterfinal. Nice tip in goal to tie the game, then Mitch Marner scored in OT to push them through to the semis.
Whole country had to be holding its breath there. Give Czechia credit for a solid game. Was starting to look like another Miracle on Ice for Czechia in this case.

I got a brainstorm (or maybe a brain fart) to build a purple martin house. I have a rough design, but since it is a bird house, i can wing a lot of it (see what i did there). I think we’ve got more going for us than most if not all other teams needing a vet QB who might end up starting.

The chiefs restructured Mahomes contract that gives them 43 million more in cap space. Patrick knows that this will help the team to add pieces to get better. Kirky would’ve never done this.

He never would have signed a contract that allowed for that level of restructuring in the first place.
Based on what I’ve read, the total cash payout to Mahomes is the same.
He just took it upfront I think.
He now has an $85 million cap hit in 2027.
And that is team friendly – 85 mil cap hit in 27!

Seems more like mortgaging the future to me – but to each his own.
When they extend him they’ll spread that cap hit over the length of the new deal and possibly a couple void years.

The fact that he is willing to help in any year, is worth giving accolades imo.
I’m pretty aware of the capabilities of the “Dude.” And I think he’s worth a fortune to any team.
But thought this was moving money from this year to next.
Yeah it is not costing him any money.
Plus I understood that most restructuring was just a paperwork function and the player usually had no say in the matter.
Maybe Mahomes contract is different but I don’t see that there is any reason for ‘accolades’.
Where he should be applauded is in the structure of the deal. Josh Allen did something similar. They have lots of salary built into the contract that the team can then change to signing bonus. The player ends up with the same amount of cash, but they didn’t demand a massive amount of guaranteed cash at initial signing. They had the confidence to know they would play well enough to not need fully guaranteed, non-moveable money and were willing to give the team flexibility.

I disagree. I’m not a fan of Kyler, but a kirko signing would be meh at best. At least with Kyler there would be some intrigue/excitement to what KOC could do with him.
I mean, I wouldn’t be excited if Kirko came back, but he’s not terrible.

Had him once, I just don’t want him back, nothing against him. Kirky, Rodgers, and Flacco are 3 guys that I hope the purple stays away from. Go younger. Like I said, I’m not pounding the table for KM, I just think it would make for a very interesting off-season. I would expect that he’d beat out JJ for starter and having is elusiveness as well as our weapons for him could be a fun watch.

I don’t mind a Kirko reunion, as long as it is on a cheap deal and the understanding that he is more than likely going to be the backup.
I think Kirk would be the starter and mentor for this season, then next year would be JJ or a newer rookie failure.
I would expect a 2 year deal with playing time incentives for Kirk. Have to throw enough money to make his HOF agent happy, while realizing Kirk is on the tail end of his career and the 40+ mil per season is not gonna happen.

Maybe KOC can play the game that Kirko plays.
