I know the TV show that is the NFL draft is silly, but I will still watch it. I am curious to see who makes the worst moves this year. Always some entertaining takes, and none of it matters until the players hit the field and you really find out what you have.
Speaking of finding out what you have, the Vikings have either Fragile McPonder or JJ McGoat as a QB on a rookie deal. He could also be JJ McAverage like Kirko. God I hope that is not the case. He needs more playing time in order to either praise or condemn that draft pick. 10 starts is not a career. I fully expect he will play more in the preseason unless he gets hurt again. I expect Murray to start the season as QB 1 if he is able to read and understand the playbook. I am not convinced he will put in the effort, but maybe getting paid over 30 million dollars to go away will motivate him. It should be an interesting off season for certain.

I’m interested in seeing if Harbaugh can actually turn the Giants into contenders. In Baltimore his front office was pretty good at maintaining a pretty talented roster, year in and year out. My expectation is he’ll be the same guy, building a team that can run the ball effectively and play good defense. Same as his brother Jim. If they beat the Cowboys twice a year I’ll be happy.
I think losing/trading away Dexter sends a huge message. How much of it has to do with Harbaugh is debatable but it has to shake up the team.
He seemed unhappy, and wanted to be traded. When a guy wants out, it’s best to let him go IMO.

But he moved after Harbaugh arrived. So either it was too broken for Harbaugh to fix or his arrival made it worse.
Imagine being unhappy as a NYG to learn you are being traded to Cincinnati. One of the cheapest paying franchises in the league.

It could have been worse I think I suppose (Cleveland, Jets, Vegas?).
He got paid I hear, but Burrow is showing signs of unhappiness.

Dexter will make the team better but the $$ left for pay worse.

I’d look for Harbaugh to build O line and add a defensive piece – losing Lawrence isn’t great, but they still have some pretty good players on Defense: Burns, Okereke, Abdul Carter…..
Hopeful they DON’T add Love – I have Cam Skattebo in dynasty and need him to be the bell cow in New York.

Their base does not care about facts just feeding their TDS.
They are using ‘Strategic Ignorance’ to muddy the waters, play dumb about how the world works in order to further their narrative. Just like they say ‘DJT is not going after the worst of the worst’ while failing to mention that they are shielding the criminals with Blue City policies and sending agitators and ‘useful idiots’ to block ICE. Then they claim it is all Trumps fault for trying to deport Rapist/Killers/Drug Dealers/Pedophiles. All in the pursuit of votes, pretty sickening.
They are insidious liars, working hard to get themselves elected into positions of power. They are a true threat to this country. They are very, very dangerous people. Same with the Muslims. The country is under attack from two very evil forces.
Agree that the Vikings need to get a WR in the draft and they have met with several already, reportedly up to 12 of them. But the highest rated one is WR Ted Hurst (#77) (Top 30 & Pro Day). So mocking the 28th rated WR Denzel Boston at #18 seems a bit of a stretch. Now if he managed to hold on until #49 it would make more sense.

Now I do mocks for entertainment and to learn a bit about the players, but I do realize that while I can speculate I know nothing about what KOC and FLO consider the best player for their schemes, and the team needs. But at least I will go into draft weekend being not quite as clueless as I am in most things.
Why do we need a WR?
As stated in the article. ‘With Jalen Nailor now in Las Vegas, they’re currently planning to give Tai Felton and his three rookie receptions a starting role. That’s a problem.‘
Not saying it is a NEED, it is unlikely anyone we draft this year will be a day one starter. We need depth at multiple positions including WR.
That I agree with. Taking a WR in 5th or 6th round is great, but BUILD THE TRENCHES!!°
I agree DT needs help with the loss of two starters.
OC needs help since they plan to start a converted OG that never played that position until last year.
But even the top prospects at those two positions don’t show up until very late in the 1st or early 2nd (DT) or late 2nd/early 3rd (OC).
I think Minny might be looking to go BPA at 18.
RB isn’t happening at 18 – Love won’t fall that far. There are RB’s to go after on Day 2.
I don’t see a WR worth it at 18 imo. Maybe Lemon, but I think he’s gone by then.
My draft crush, Sonny Styles, also isn’t falling to 18 – if he did, Brez should be sprinting to get the card in. I love that kid and think he would be great in BFlo’s defense. Pace on a tender, Wilson and Cash north of 30 – the justification is there. But he won’t be. (I also thought Dallas Turner would go top 8…)
I think they like Redmond, LDR & TID a lot – still could use a game wrecker (I’d be on board to ship 18 to NY for Lawrence) so I could see them grabbing a DT at 18 – if that’s BPA. I’ve seen both Woods/Banks mocked that high.
The majority of the mocks I’ve seen have them addressing Hitman’s impending retirement and taking Thieneman or EMW – both would be quality picks imo.
If an OL falls that far – don’t care if it’s OT or OG – I’m on board. Darrisaw elite when healthy (but there’s a concern there) and O’Neill also not young. Obviously concerns at C and IOL.

Also wouldn’t be surprised to see them take another QB at some point as well as a project Edge guy – Bflo loves his edge rushers and Greenard’s future is uncertain

Always see a need for OL. Uncertainty/questions at C and at least 1 IOL spot imo.
Think IDL is solid. Think Edge is as well – but both could use upgrades/reloads (Greenard may be gone, Van Gink north of 30 as well)
SS/CB needs addressed – Rodgers and Murphy contracts run out or get super expensive in the next few years.
Also need RB and a legit WR3 – though that could be addressed before camp by bringing in an established Vet short-term.

Agreed. BPA for depth and future starters.
Some positions in this draft are deeper than others. We might pass a first tier player who plays a position that is deep to grab another knowing we can come back and still get quality at that position.
It will be interesting no doubt.

The mock drafts are fun to do, but I agree with you that it really helps getting to know the names and a little bit about the players. I’ll watch the vikes first 4 picks anyway and should at least recognize the names when they’re called.
While I watch college football, it is mostly just background noise for me, so I will probably not recognize any of the names.
I don’t watch much college football, but I do fiddle around with the mock draft simulator on profootballnetwork. That’s mostly how I get to know the names and a bit of information about them.

30 years ago today Nebraska quarterback Brook Berringer died in a plane crash – 2 days before he was expected to be drafted into the NFL.
Size, speed, accuracy and a strong arm – I’m convinced he would’ve had a 10+ year career. On top he was a world class dude. There’s a book by Arthur Lindsay – ‘One Final Pass’ that details Brook’s life. Worth the read.
