Welcome to the weekend folks! Fall is in the air, beautiful weather and a lot of sports to be watched. Our favorite team is in my backyard this weekend. I will probably stay home and not attend as the experience on Sunday Ticket outweighs the crowds and expense of driving down to see the game. We have a docket of good college football games on today, Ryder Cup is unfortunately a beatdown for the US Team who may actually play so poorly the European team may wrap up the victory today which would cancel the need for a third day tomorrow which would be about the most embarrassing result in Ryder Cup history. Thanks Zach Johnson you are the worst captain in US history and need to disappear in to obscurity forever.

Tonga has disappeared this year. Big, strong guy. Had a decent season last year, and has not seen the field much or at all IIRC.

That is really cool. There’s a bit of NFL history in Windom where I’m from – Larry Buhler, 1939 Round 1, Pick 9 (for FTP – 🤮) Played fullback/halfback at Windom High and then at Minnesota. Went on to manage the municipal liquor store in town. Has a statue in the courthouse square – I still flip it off when I go back because FTP!

As usual…I wouldn’t of picked him if he didn’t auto qualify he’s too inconsistent. Morakowi played like crap he should be ashamed. JT who shouldn’t have been there actually did ok. Speith was meh and all the rest of the Americans except Brooks shrunk like pansies. Zach was a horrible captain and this team with more talent failed yet again to retain the cup on European soil. I picked Europe to win 18-10, wasn’t far off.

You and I talk about course management sometimes. Here’s one of the best players in the world, in a critical situation, playing a hole with water deep on the right – so where’s he hit it. Tiger or Jack would never have done that.

JJ McCarthy’s arm talent is really, really good. Made a couple of tight window throws today that have been impressive.

True. Although if there is a strength for NU, it’s the D. Offense has been terrible protecting the ball. Husker run D in particular has been pretty stout. Regardless of the competition level, a tight window throw is a tight window throw. He’s made several with both velocity and touch.
What does arm strength have to do with who he is playing against?
Bad defenses can make a QB look awesome.
Would these throws be catches against Georgia, OH St, USC, Wash, etc…
I like McCarthy. If he makes these kinds of throws against the big boys, I will be on the draft McCarthy hype train.

My buddies cabin up in Northern MN has a couple of pilots on it. They are really fun to drink with. One night we were all out at the bars for way longer than we should have been. Like we went in at lunch, and didn’t leave until 9ish.
After the bar we got a ride over to one of the pilots houses. His “cabin” was about 3000 sq ft, and was not cabinish at all. Anyways, We kept drinking. I ended up walking back to my buddies cabin at around 11. It was about half a mile down the shoreline and doesn’t seem like much, until you are shit housed and everyone’s dogs are barking at you. So I made it back to the cabin and went straight to bed.
I got up the next morning at 7 am feeling like I got hit by a truck but we were supposed to be out fishing, so we all drug our asses out of bed.
When were out on the water I noticed one of the pilots had taken his pontoon home. He had parked it with one pontoon on top of his dock, and had wedged the front end into his jet ski lift. I was impressed. His pontoon lift was on the other side of the dock. Plus, those aluminum docks are really expensive to fuck up. Best part is he had dropped the back and front anchor. Front was just laying on the dock.
So we went up to his front door, and knocked. No answer. Banged a few times. still no answer. We went up onto his deck, and looked through his sliding glass doors. We saw him laying butt naked on his couch. Guy was breathing. So
We just put hit pontoon on his lift, and went fishing.
We saw him later around 3 O’clock. He was casually drinking a beer and didn’t look hung over at all. He didn’t say anything about his pontoon or dock getting all banged up. We brought it up, and he got really quite, and just said thanks.
So we went out fishing with him later that day. The guy new where the walleyes were at, and we had a pretty good trip.
Lmao thats wild. Thats what we call, a functioning black out. The right idea, but not always in the right spot, and ready to go the next morning lol.
I just assume all pilots are coked up – aren’t they pretty underpaid and overworked? I’d be coked up too. If it’s good enough for the White House….
I had some family who were American Airlines pilots back in the 90’s and 00’s. They made decent money, $120 / $130 a year. Lived in a nice home on a private golf course in Naperville, IL last time I visited them so they were doing alright.

This was his year with AT out to really step up into the WR2 roll. Addison is looking good. Young and needs to learn how to come back to the ball. I can think of a couple of tight throws where he stops and wait for the ball to come to him and the defender knocks it down. AT was great at having an awareness of where the defender was, and adjusting accordingly.
I always think back to a few years ago when I was watching a game with my brother in law. He played TE in college, and was pretty good at what he did. I casually said something about how Cousins passes to AT were consistently hitting him between the numbers, while the balls to KJ were a little between or just in general off a little bit. He said that if you watched 10 passes to KJ and 10 to AT, you would see Kirk would place the ball in about the same place for both. Just one of them was better at adjusting and anticipating where they needed to be.
If you watch enough film on KJ, I think he’s right.

Rory McIlroy has been seen screaming and arguing with caddie Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay in a heated exchange while leaving Marco Simone on day two of the Ryder Cup in Rome.
Footage has gone viral of McIlroy pointing at a person out of frame while yelling at Justin Thomas’ caddie, Joe LaCava. McIlroy appeared to scream, “That is a f–ing disgrace,” at someone out of the shot.
European captain Luke Donald confirmed McIlroy was “upset” at Patrick Cantlay’s caddie, Joe LaCava, who was seen waving his hat close to the Northern Irishman has he prepared for a putt on the 18th green Saturday night at Marco Simone.
I talked to Rory, [who said he] politely asked Joe to move aside [because he] was in his line of vision. [LaCava] stood there and didn’t move for a while, and continued to wave the hat, so i think Rory was upset about it.”
A tweet earlier on Saturday from Sky Sports reporter Jamie Weir read that Patrick Cantlay had led a protest within the American team over players not getting paid to play the Ryder Cup, which they never have been in the biennial teams spectacle.
When fans at Marco Simone caught wind of the report on social media, they taunted Cantlay by waving their own hats from the galleries. US players, once Cantlay and Clark had defeated McIlroy and Fitzpatrick, all waved their hats to sledge the Europeans.

Head to the back was over early with a double, triple, double and 7 over through 3 then went 9 over through 6. Ugly shoot a 52.

Quite a change in nines – what happened?
Combination breakdown, bad chip, couple 3 putts, couple bad wedge shots, couple tee shots really a little of everything would get behind or in bad position and not be able to make it up on the hole. Funny thing had like 5 or 6 fantastic shots, drives, wedges and chips on that side also. Actually better quality pure shots than the front where I shot 42. I think where he played like shit on the front I slipped in to his game and he in turn switched in to my great front nine mode

As much golf as I’ve played, but I have no idea how the Captain is selected.
It’s a good question. He won the Masters of course and a few other tournaments, but no idea how he ended up as the Captain.

I didn’t read that post about Cantlay yet. I’ve gotten much better the last few weeks. Still working a ton of hours though, which my wife is starting to get on me about a bit. I haven’t played any golf lately, other than going to the range with my son. He was doing all these stretches, and warm up things, and I dropped a ball down and pured a 9 iron right at a flag on my first swing. My son said “I hate you dad”.
