Wow, it was a busy day here yesterday. I understand there were some issues with the site yesterday, I’ve let the devs know so they can hopefully help avoid anyghing like that happening again in future.
Another day removed from the Vikings slipping to 0-3 on the season, and I haven’t heard many valid reasons for some of the mistakes & mental errors we saw the Vikings players/coaches make on Sunday. That final series, actually the final two series, was a perfect impersonation of the Bad News Bears. Only difference is that it was the Bad News Vikings.
Sigh. At least the Vikings play the Panthers next weekend, so they should get their first win. They could also crap the bed…..again…..and really cause a nuclear explosion within the Vikings fan base. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I had forgotten, thankfully, about the loss we had to the Cowboys on Halloween night in 2021 when the Cowboys came to US Bank with Cooper Rush and Kellen Moore as the OC.
Dallas scored late to take a lead, It was eerily reminiscent Sunday to that Oct game when Cousins was running a two-minute drill in that loss to the Cowboys.
With time winding down and a timeout in his back pocket, Cousins let 20 seconds elapse before running his next play. When asked about the situation, Cousins deferred to Zimmer.
“I just let Zim handle the timeouts because I never know what the coaches want to do with what they’re thinking, a play ahead or what that may be,” Cousins said. “So I was just going to let them handle that and call the next play.”

I remember that as well. Zimmer also was penalized himself for trying to call a timeout when the team had none left. After that instead of Dallas kicking a fg to tie, Barr whiffed on a tackle of Elliot fora first down and then rush threw a TD to win. Kirk did not play well in that game.

True, but after all the ridicule levied on KOC for not putting a running game of note together during the off-season, I think he was bound and determined to run the ball Sunday.
That said, we still have zero rushing TD’s.
Running the 1st quarter may have set up the pass for success the other three.
But passing against a weakened/injured defensive backfield would have set up the run just as well and given Maddison that many less chances to put the ball on the ground.
Running game was working for a change…I’m glad they tried to establish it even though I thought they should throw to JJ early and often as well.

This is true. It will be interesting to see how long this run of 340+ passing yard games goes. Brees has the NFL record for consecutive 300 yard passing games (9) and he did that twice I think. I doubt seriously that Cousins will approach that, but right now he’s on a good run.

Actually there was a comment by Cousins in his presser Sunday about finding the right combination on the oline to provide better protection so there it is, he’s been with those same guys for two seasons and now he’s casting blame that he is taking too many shots, which he is, but the point is he’s not blaming himself.
The point with KOC is last year there were a few frustrating moments between coach and cousins, normal stuff but it indicates a rub can exist. The Chinese fire drill at the end of the game Sunday does not point to anything but a certain level of dysfunction between the two. I was wary of the Covid jab as well but considering my health I’m glad I listened to my Doc and got it – I’ve had very little side effects from it (exhausted for about 48 hours) it’s polarizing for sure and I’m not trying to kick off a debate on it. But for me and my health history it made sense. As does the flu shot. Just my take. Not trying to sway anyone one way or the other – in regard to the Corona stab.

Nope. And for you it doesn’t make sense. Runner, active, can’t see what’s on the fridge, non-smoker. For me, I was far north of 400 lbs, former smoker, and at the time very sedentary. Things have changed but I’m still overweight by all standards (fucking hovering around 3 bills, can’t seem to break into the 290’s) I’m far more active now and I quit smoking cigarettes over 2 years ago – but I’ll probably get the updated Corona jab here soon. I get the skepticism, as I’m a born skeptic. But I trust my doctor. Been with her for over 15 years and I’d have been dead long ago if it weren’t for her.

If you wait until closer to the game they will get cheaper as the Vikings record gets worse. I got fairly cheap tickets a couple of years ago to take my wife to the Rams game by waiting until almost Christmas when they were basically eliminated.

Yeah the site doesn’t have a working “go to new comments” button. The one on the bottom left does nothing but take you to the next comment or to the top to make a new comment. The DN had a good function button that would take you to the new comments which were highlighted purple in chronological order until you were caught up. Old comments would turn white like Brad’s cod belly. Seems like the developers tried to mimic that but failed as it does not work that way.

We have gotten virtually no rain all summer. From last Thursday afternoon until yesterday morning we go 2.5 inches. From yesterday afternoon until this morning we have gotten another 1.7 inches and it is still raining. I think it would have been nice if we could have spread that out over the last couple of months.
It’s rained like crazy here this year, we needed it after a 3 year drought. All last weekend it sounded like a cow pissing on a flat rock.
Was like that here on Saturday. Wife and the outlaws were downtown for the game. I babysat with my mother in law and prepped the house for a get-together after. Planned on a fire pit – and was prepping the wood when the sky opened up.

I love mowing, it helps me find peace, this will be me next year after I buy a riding mower, which will of course be a used John Deere and in true midwest fashion when the neighbors compliment the new mower I will immediately mention how it was a bargain and I talked the guy down from his original price
No kidding, it is really weird but I love riding my 1-series Deere SCUT, just a few pegs up the ladder from that one. Sunday morning before the game I got out for two hours, had rained the day before and the gravel road was the consistency of icing/frosting, putting along pulling the box blade and smoothing the gravel made me quite mellow for the game.
My CFO is suggesting I move up to a 3 series cuz that poor 1025R gets put through the paces when I work it. Really debating whether to get a cab cuz I enjoy the open air experience.
I will say I would advocate for a zero turn mower for a yard on a typical city lot. I use my ZT far more than the belly mower on the 1025R or my 60 inch trail mower within the confines of the compound fence.
