Man, I might be buying a small car, currently looking at a Camry or something similar. With my new gig, I’m putting on about 4,000 miles in 2 weeks from the 2nd-16th of each month. With my pickup at 15 mpg, I’m burning 250 gallons at $4.50 a gallon (premium), which is a cost of $1,125. A Camry gets 38 mpg, so the same 4,000 miles would only require 105 gallons, which is around $475. A savings of $650 a month. That’s just the gas savings. Too bad domestic cars are garbage, or I’d look at one. I’m thinking either Toyota or Honda. We’ll see.

Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Why would you threaten everyone just before going to bed?
Lol. This is becoming a pattern. Thereโs a fight. Youโre Switzerland. Thereโs another fight. Youโre still Switzerland.
I still like your chocolate though.
I’ve got to get my comment count up somehow.
In that case, youโre doing great!
Twins win!
I was ridiculously worried in the 9th.
I usually don’t worry much at all about the Twins
The streak is over! They suck but they suck no more!!!
When they brought in Jax and he immediately gave up double…I was fucking livid. Then he proceeds to destroy the next two batters. Pressure was on the Jays the moment Royce hit his first home run. You could see it on their faces. Its a new day yall. Felt good.
Challenge!
My nephew, age 11, is on his way – heโs laid down a Madden challenge. Heโs a Chiefs fan, but rolls with Jalen Hurts and Philly. Heโs said heโll beat me by 2 touchdowns. I say he wonโt score on me.
Iโve got to air this place out and get ready.
No mercy.
I donโt understand. Are you saying he thinks the Chiefs will beat the Vikings by 14? If so, Iโd take that bet.
Lolโฆ. No. Madden Football – video game. Heโs a KC fan, but plays with Philly on the game and said heโll beat me by two touchdowns. He wonโt, but I like his spirit.
Ohโฆgot itโฆโMadden challengeโ (missed that, Iโm not a gamer). In that case, heโll probably destroy you.
When they talk smack, you gotta put the foot on the gas and dont let up. Humble them early.
TWINS WILL FUCK THIS UP. LOSERS. STRIKEOUT MORE.
What are you talking about? They’re winning 3-1 and coming up to bat in the bottom of the 8th.
Bases load, another strikeout. Don’t watch much Twins do you. Stick to what you know, whatever you that is.
Laughing… no I don’t watch much Twins… but I think they have a pretty good chance of winning this one.
Up voting for NLNVF smack talk. But you wrong!
Twins win!
Lewis won game. We had 5 hits and 11 K’s. Sad.
Well, a win is a win. Celebrate!!!
Thats par for the course this year. Jays have the best pitching in the majors. If we get out of this series….good things can happen
YOU”RE A DOOMER! GET FUCKED!!!! <3 <3
Home plate guy is blind as a bat. My God.
For any conservatives who may be here.
Believe Will Rogers once said I’m not a member of any organized political party, I’m a Democrat.
Today, I know exactly what he meant.
Polanco is doing his best Beaker impression.
Agreed….I dont want to see him at 3rd ever again. Today was the first day he played there since 2016…wtf
It was also his at bats. Hopefully better things to come.
Here come the strikeouts. FFS.
ROYCE LEWIS! THE ANTI MAUER!!!! LFG!!!
Royce fucking Lewis
Cut him.
๐๐
Boooooom!
You just stole 2/3 of my earlier trademarked comment. When can I expect the royalty payment?
Woooohoooo!
And we almost did it on 4:20 CST too
I was on top of that oneโฆ.
6 inches is a strike now.
No shit! What a call..idk how Julien didnt freak out…I would have
Itโs also a lie most of us tell ourselves.
Unless you’ve actually measured…..
Correa and Brokston t biggest overpaid jerks.
Not sure how Correa is a jerk? Or Buxton ? lol. Correa had one down year offensively and played great defensively, up for debate. Buston is 100% over paid and the extension was a massive mistake.
Just saying vastly over paid, got it?
Yes I understand that lol, but not sure how that makes them “jerks” lol
No, not referencing them just contracts.
Royce Lewis
Kids a stud. And glows when the pressure is the most, I hope its infectious.
Can he play QB?
I feel like Iโm at the Thanksgiving table and my uncles are fightingโฆ
carry onโฆ..
Drunk uncles are the best
OK, after further review I now understand why our O-line is being graded so highly. KOC is running a number of passing plays with only two or three receivers and holding seven and even eight guys back to block.
At what percentage of snaps? Id wager its less than 30%
Oh I don’t know, I counted 8 out 19 passes for this past game though.
Deff wanted to shut down Carolina’s pass rush. If what you say is true then thats about 42%. Sounds like it was used in key situations more than the overall “gameplan” imo.
So yes, it was used more than I would say is average by a long way. My take on that is KOC had to do something. His QB was taking more hits than any other QB in the league. Have to actually address that if you’re the head coach. Our 5 guys clearly can’t protect the QB adequately alone.
I’m interested to see if he employs the same strategy against the Chiefs. Clearly it’s on tape now.
Will Ed be used more is another question. I mean, if what your doing isnt working you gotta mix it up. That type of blocking package makes your offense less than one dimensional so they are going to have to get it done 1 on 1s. Maybe more chip blocks?
Certainly the run game benefits if you have seven guys blocking up front versus five, so there’s merit there. Play action could work well, but with two guys in the pattern versus five or six defenders, that’s gonna be tough. The long throw to Addison was a two man route. Even then the throw was short armed because a rusher crashed in from Cousins right (throwing arm) and he had to fall sideways to get it off. Addison was surrounded by three defenders, but I think with a clean pocket Cousins makes that throw.
I would agree with that.
You know what – I’m a little under the weather and should keep my mouth shut – but fuck it.
I’m getting done right pissed coming here and trying to talk football with others and one ass hole jumps in and starts calling me names. Read below.
I was talking about a formation with BSF which had nothing to do with the QB, and one of the local haters comes in and feels free to personally insult.
I’m sorry – I’m just not going to be insulted by any asshole – here or anyway else.
Have to agree, but we’re the bad apples here apparently.
If you are insulted by the word “Buffoon” than the internet is not for you. There’s a magical phrase thats been in place since the DN and a decade ago and now here “assume its sarcasm and keep scrolling”. This isn’t a city all meeting. If you take things personally and have thin skin thats on you. You threw this cry baby fit before the season started and you’re doing it again. If you and NLNVF want your own echo chamber page with just you two in there im sure that could be provided.
Buffoon is not a compliment… look it up.
Ahh man. The guys I work with told me it was a term of endearment. What else have they lied to me about?
Laughing… nice Bow.
It wasnt meant to be a compliment, but if thats enough to get you heated on an online forum, theres nothing I can do for you. Did I go crying to the general form or admins when Lifer and I got into it? No. We settled it in another setting like men and all is well. Jrob just compared me to wife abuser. Thats an insult. You’re both out of your element here, and you are barking up the wrong tree.
Nothing you say heats me up KFEY. That’s what you don’t understand. You’re emotionally charged about me, I feel absolutely nothing about you.
This discussion didnt involve you, until you butted in and added your 2 cents, of which was not needed, thats why im on you. This is in relation to your buddy, who just called me a wife abuser because he has a thin skin. He complains when I say things about him when hes not online, so I did it online and he gets more upset. If he wants to cry he should do it somewhere else…after all, crying is unbecoming in Men, you said that yourself the other day right?
It’s a blog…
CORRECT! Thats my point the whole time, and something he lacks the core concept of. If you dont like what someone said, dont interact, and keep scrolling. I would have followed my own advice but calling someone a wife abuser, well, that got me a little hot. Carry on.
No you lack decorum… he does not.
are you POTUS? That would explain your need for decorum and as well as most of your taeksโฆand also why Europe and Africa are calling.
if so, Iโll chill because even if I donโt respect the man, Iโll respect the office.
While my station in life is quite high, I don’t look down on anyone. To me, everyone has the same level of value, regardless of level of responsibility or authority. I don’t care if you’re a General Officer, Enlisted guy, Civilian, or contractor. I don’t care if you’re in charge of 8,000 people or come into my office to dump the trash. Everyone has value, and I treat people with respect. That is how I operate and have operated for over 45 years.
Hmmmmโฆmaybe I need to rethink my position because I like Mjolnir and heโs also reportedly quite high.
Can confirmโฆ.
I dont have to be courteous to rondos on the internet. Youre a profile picture and a made up name to me. Thats the thing. And its why nothing thats said here should be taken personally.
That speaks a lot of someone’s character.
Damn right i did. Go to scholl. The insulter gets to decide what’s appropriate.
*schoolโฆ
You need a nap and rest my old dude. The vid and ME got to you today. Come back recharged and rehydrated and try again.
Look slick – I understand you hate Cousins. I wasn’t even talking about Cousins. Was trying to talk football formation. But, you seem compelled to jump into any discussion and use it as a means to shit on Cousins.
Yes, I take all insults personally.
And you get to decide what’s appropriate behavior. Y0u remind me of the guy who beats his wife and then goes on about how she deserves it.
echo chamber – believe I was talking with BSF.
cry baby fit – when I called you out for insulting others.
I’ll tell you what – we can meet anytime you want and you can call me cry baby then.
I am terrified of a geriatric who happens to have COVID and cries to mods about how he’s being spoken to. The entitlement is rich.
My money is on JR… he’s a winner.
Sure war dog.
Thanks!
Amazing what a guy who hasn’t served one minute in the service would say to a veteran.
This is just empty commentary, which does not affect me. His opinion of me is inconsequential, and his words have no effect.
I personally think people who make fun of or belittle veterans are lower than whale shit.
For sure, but commentary from a position of ignorance is just blather.
So, you want us to call you โblatherโ?
I think people who call others domestic abusers are lower than whale shit. Unless you were actually deployed and saw active combat, kiss my ass on your service. I know plenty of people in the military who are worthless piles of shit and im not going to kiss ass because you got drunk on base or within 5 miles of it for most of your time in the military. Not that im saying NLNVF did that but respect is earned and I know nothing about him. But I will say people that flaunt their service are just as bad.
This comment makes no sense, I said absolutely nothing disrespectful about military service.
Fkey did and then you addressed him and now you say me
You’re correct and I deleted the comment. Not sure how I got cross-eyed on that one but I apologize for the unintended misread. I’m usually on my computer when I’m on here but I was on my phone last night. No excuse…just old eyes + small screen.
I said you act like one – abuse and then blame blame the abusee.
As far as your comment about service people, combat or not, I’ll let others judge that.
Iโm a veteran. I appreciate honest feedback. And I donโt expect special treatment.
Didn’t say that. But the way that term was used certainly wasn’t meant in a flattering way – and you know it.
No call for special treatment, but no need for disrespect either.
You and I recently talked about BS detectors. You respect yours, I believe in mine.
Oh, and I must admit, I like decorum – who doesn’t
I didnโt see any veteran specific insults. But feel free to copy/paste if Iโm wrong.
As far as decorum, I learned a long time ago blogs are more like โlocker roomโ than a professional office. Most of whatโs said is sarcasm or in jest.
If youโre on a mission to clean up the Internet, youโve already lost. Iโm not saying I donโt get your POV, Iโm simply acknowledging Iโve been where you are. Iโm an optimist/idealist by nature. But youโve got to adjust if you want to โsurviveโ this type of environment.
Itโs not an indictment of this siteโฆit is what it is.
Thatโs why, at times, I just take a break and stop commenting. Iโll admit I havenโt always been my best self but youโll have to decide for yourself what you can tolerate.
For my part, I donโt think youโre a โbad guyโ, you just chose the wrong anchor. I wonโt name names but believe me, some commenters are more FOS than others. As you said, we may differ there and thatโs fine. But you reap what you sow. Iโve been doing this a long time (both blogs and life), and some people are just FOS.
“Sure war dog” thought that was military specific – esp given NLV’s service.
Because you’re the real deal, thank you
Intelligent conversation is so rare on this site….keep doing it.
If this asshole gets to come here everyday and personally insult others, then no.
And somehow it doesn’t seem right that the “guy” hurling the insults get’s to decide what’s appropriate.
Talk about entitlement. I got called plenty before you ever know this place existed. I didnt bitch about it nearly as much as you are.
Are you simply unable to follow rules. Believe at the top it says something to the effect attack the subject not the person. Yet, just about daily you are here personally insulting others. Why?
I don’t give a shit what moderators or whatever do here. If people here like your behavior fine. I personally think you’re a sawed off piss ant who probably hasn’t accomplished jack in his life so comes here and feels like a big man by insulting others.
again. I’m not calling out to meds, I’m simply calling you out for what you are.
Now, my geriatic self. What were you 5′ 9, run about 9.30 mile and do bout 5 pullups My old body is still 6’2 at 205, same as HS, same as college, same as Army, same as when retired. Now I have been a little off lately, since you make fun of that, but can still run a 7.20 mile, bench 220 10 times or so and at least 15 pullups. So you let me know when you want to challenge this old man body.
Maybe you 2 not respond to each other, just a thought.
Absolutely not! I want to see KFEYโs gym stats! Lol (but your right).
This format can get contentious,
Lol those are the last things id post
I know. And I think you know, that was the joke.
I won’t say more but I read rules at top.
I respect you, but don’t people who personally insult others. We talked once with the decay in our society. The fires and the burning are more the result, it starts with basic common behavior that is shot to hell.
but I’ll shut up.
Its the internet. Not reality. Separate the two.
Justin Herbert fractured the middle finger on his left hand, the team confirmed Monday.
Herbert would be listed as probable and would play this Sunday if the Chargers weren’t on a bye this week, a team spokesperson said.
The injury, on Herbert’s non-throwing hand, came in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
He also tore a nail on the same hand. Tough SOB. Its his non throwing hand, not an issue. Also nice copy and paste.
Thanks!
Weird fact: In a room with 23 people, there is a 50 percent chance that two people share a birthday. It’s called “the birthday problem.”
Odd…but I think I cracked the code on this one. There must be certain days of the year that everyone is having sex (like Valentine’s Day), so of those 23 people, it is likely their parents all (or most) had sex on that day, so nine months later they could have kids and you would get similar birthday timeframes.
Yeah, V Day, Superbowl , WS, Parents Bdays, anniversary’s etc. If you worked on the math, I bet a lot of Bdays correspond do 9 months of these give or take a week or two.
If I recall correctly from some sociology studies I’ve read, lots of sex happens in the city of the winning SB team. Is Minnesota’s birth rate declining.
Bahhaha no doubt
Wait…..people are supposed to have sex on Valentine’s Day?
Not “people” so much. “Perverts” mostly…
Just actually read the words of the thread up top lol. Get a Subaru if you are looking for something smallish. Great gas mileage, biggest midsized sedan room wise interior, very safe, very good in the snow. I love my Legacy. Is it as much fun as my Cadillac DTS I had before it? No. But trading over 10 mpg more is a huge plus lol.
Chevy Trax
So I went out for an early morning run the other day โ early, as in it was still dark. I had an LED headlamp on. I turned down a gravel road and saw two pairs of beady eyes reflecting back at me. I thought nothing of it. There is DNR ground on this road full of critters, and I see deer on this road basically every time I go down it.
The eyes stay in position as I get closer to them. I’m still not thinking much of it. I have gotten pretty close to said deer before. One let me get within about 10 feet before.
Low and behold, I finally get to a point where my headlamp reaches the owners of the beady eyes. It was two coyotes.
I ordered a jogging holster immediately. I doubt anything would happen, but I’ve read about coyotes killing folk. If it is dark, and I am on that road, I am bringing a gun. Better to be safe than trying to fight out rangy mutts snapping at my junk.
Shoot them even if they don’t attack you, we have plenty of coyotes around.
I was thinking that, too. At least scare them a bit. They are getting too bold. We used to never have coyotes around here. They moved in in the last twenty years or so. Deer population has exploded here, too. When I was a kid, seeing a deer was a rare thing. Now I could pretty much see one every day if I looked.
Solid call. If there were two you could see, likely more you couldnโt.
I never thought of that. Yep, definitely bringing a gun now!
Iโve hunted lots of coyotes in SE Nebraska. Lots of them down here. Growing up in the country weโd hear โem howling at night. On Halloween night in โ92 our family dog, a 75# chocolate lab named Norton, had a dust up with a couple of them and fended them off long enough for my dad to fire a shot in the air – we were in the garage watching Nebraska kick the shit out of Colorado (probably why I remember it so well – Iโve tied it to football) We werenโt exactly quiet, and they were brave enough to get within about 25-30 yards of the garage. Norton was fine, a few scratches, but you could see in the distance there were another 6-8 standing back as the two that were in the yard ran toward them. Iโll never forget it. They travel in packs, usually at night/early morning. The last few years there have been several Mountain Lion sightings in SE Nebraska – Iโm mindful of that when I walk Goose at the dog run on the edge of Lincoln – runs right along side Salt Creek.
There had been some cougar sightings in our area, too. Rare, but they happen. One guy actually shot one and got in trouble for it.
look like this?
lol
I pack almost 100% of the time. Titanium 41 mag in the hills, 9mm or 40 smith in town.
That’s the way to do it.
Wren! No Hitman gifs this week?
I gave him props yesterday, alluding to the fact that all the ladies in the old folks home were impressed by the fact he is on pace for 12 sacks this season!
I think the record for a safety is like 8, so that’s pretty good.
He’s still good, maybe lost a step but smarts can make it up. Krause like.
Dying from a coyote would be embarrassing, id choke that thing out first. Now if theres like 10 of em…thats a different story. But agreed, bring the rootie tootie aim and shootie.
I consider taking my .40 cal Glock with me in Minny, not for fear of coyotes however.
Correct, the decay of western society is much more dangerous than nature.
There was a Canadian folk singer lady that got killed by coyotes in daylight while going for a walk. Seems nuts that actually happened.
“…Canadian folk singer lady…..”
Sounds like an easy meal for a coyote.
Sounds like it would be a bit gamey
And I’ll bet the yote would still have hairy scat afterwards…..
That is the only confirmed fatal coyote kill of an adult. Absolutely shocking.
HEADLINE:
“Local man shoots two cocker spaniels, mistaken for coyotes”
I’m teasing, but I’ve found with my thermal scope that critters look alike through a thermal and have occasionally flashed them with a tight beam flashlight to confirm a raccoon is not a cat, for example.
Raccoon/cat, meh. Fling lead and conduct a post assessment or just go with it was a raccoon and move on. Cats are one of the hardest animals on wildlife.
Yup, that’s what Matt Dillon would do.
That would just so suck. “got that little bastard, I’ll skin him in the morning”
Golden doodle with a collar, FB post “our kids are missing little Dunkel”
.
That bottom one’s photo shopped but still funny
Nope. I’m pretty sure it was a dog that had run off a week or two prior and she posted that on Facebook with a caption about how proud her husband was going to be of her for taking out a wolf.
Woman who killed, skinned husky puppy she thought was a wolf is charged with animal abuse

True story:
When my kid was younger he used to run a trap line around my place, mostly bobcats back when they were $1000-$1500 for an XL super prime. Anyhow he hooked up a lady’s dog that lived about 2 miles away and was missing about 24 hrs. Takes dog out of trap, dog is fine and brings to lady, never says how he “found” dog. Lady starts crying and gives him 100 bucks.
Oh now that’s a happy ending for both parties.
It was them or me, officer!
In WI there are so many yotes the season never closes. You need to eliminate those 2 – they typically run from humans.
They are on my hit list. I should tell one of my coworkers. He is a big coyote hunter. He’s shot a lot of them over the last decade.
If you wait for winter when their coats get thicker, you can get about $15-25 per pelt. Aim for the eyes, though – price goes down a bit with bullet holes in the body.
Prices were better a few years back, but Covid and Canada Goose quit using natural fur to trim their coats.
Here’s the TD that got called back. JJ was single covered. Was over 3 seconds for JJ to reverse his route.
IMO: a play that takes about 3.25 seconds to develop is way too long from with 5 yards of the end zone.
Agreed but Kirk had PLENTY of time. O line and blockers did their jobs.
In that package would expect better protection and more time.
Your joking….Kirk had 4 seconds there. Get real man.
What am I joking about – read much – I said in that package would expect better protection. Absolutely no mention of actual time.
The time reflects the protection. 4 seconds in a clean pocket is more than enough regardless of package.
You aren’t factoring in the fact that you’re in a compressed area of the field, and you have 2 receivers being covered by 6 defenders.
Oh its factored in. Is it a dumb RZ play with that short of field…yes. Was the blocking more than sufficient…also yes.
Well, except for the holding call…
BSF and I were discussing this vary formation for use near the goal line – the pluses for both protection and power running. Also, the availability of JJ in man coverage. Thus, my comment back to BSF.
We were talking football – not pro/con Cousins as some seem to want to make every issue.
Go back and read the comments
Well, I don’t think in this alignment JJ was in single coverage, since there were 6 defenders he had to run through to get open.
I am looking at the all 22 again, and seeing that KOC held 6 and 7 guys back in protection for Cousins yesterday a lot though, which is why he had so many clean pockets, and probably why our O-linemen are getting such high grades from PFF.
In general, it’s a great formation for him to get single. And if he gets doubled, some great advantages available.
There are only two receivers on that play. The rest of the offense is in protection. That is why Cousins had time to throw. That’s what JR is saying. 8 guys in protection.
And they did just fine. Or does Kirk need 8 seconds in order for it to be sufficient for you two buffoons?
Why are you insulting us? The fact is, the only way you can give Cousins the protection needed is to use almost all your offensive players. THAT’s how good your O-line is.
Too bad a good football issue gets drug down into the pro/con Cousins issue. Actually enjoy football talk.
Me too. Unfortunately folks on an internet blog are more interested in insulting people than exchanging football perspectives in an adult manner.
You and I disagree on certain things, but we are always civil, and don’t get into personal pissing contests. We can be fine with disagreeing.
Had enough of this one single asshole. He’s ruining this site for me. Tired of personal insults.
I like 13p on the goal line too, if you have the personal to run it. With Oliver we do. It works nicely since most teams run out of it, and it leaves the WR in single coverage.
I just wish we had something dialed up for a faster release. That’s me nitpicking it. Closer to the goal line I like the ball coming out fairly quick to lower the odds of a sack. Although I agree with your take that in that package, you should have plenty of blockers and give you the extra time to get the play done.
I’m not even sure how that happened. Cousins had the time and delivered the strike. Oliver got called on a hold. That is also a product of a longer developing play. Guys need to maintain the blocks longer.
But the more plays I’ve watched this game, the more I have been impressed with KOC’s play calling. Especially in the run game.
Thatโs the longest comment Iโve seen from you that doesnโt include crackheads, cocks or both. Well done.
Although, you did mention sacks.
I hate the idea of a long developing play call that close as well – but the route by JJ was nassssssty. Broke that DB off.
Playing Pickle Ball for the first time ever tonight with the wife.
Church league.
Do I need to where a cup?
Definitely, wear one that protrudes for maximum protection.
say goodbye to your knees.
Thanks for the warning.
We will see how long I last.
Just take it easy. I thought about taking up that sport, since I used to play a lot of tennis and racketball. Lots of lateral stress on the knees. I do not need to do things like that anymore.
The Vikings Apparently Have a Great Offensive Line
I actually agree with this. The line looks pretty decent. Krauser grab some facts.
Top 5 by Pass block win rate and PFF.
We have a decent line.
Impossible, that goes against the narrative. Shut up with your numbers and mathematically backed facts.
Kirk only gets hit because the line and WRs aren’t doing their jobs.
Don’t know how all these numbers work out, but line passed the test against the Eagles. No run game, pass every down, and the passing attack was very effective.
PFF grades are subjective so you might slow your roll a bit on their “grades”. Cousins was the most hit QB in the league through the first 3 games, despite all this subjective data. That said, in this last game against the Panthers, the O-line performed better than they have in the last 5 seasons. We’ll see if that continues. Definitely hope it does.
Yeah.
I’m just pushing back some on the “OL sucks all the time” excuse.
They arent great but they are far from the worst in the league as many here claim simply beacuse thats been the case from many years in a row.
Now we know why Kirk didn’t play well – he’s not used to being pressured so little.
Safe to say Daboll / Jones relationship is ๐ฉ
Totally false narrative.
$82 Million guaranteed through 2026.
Divide by 4 years and that’s $21 million guaranteed per year.
They will be able to move off of Jones relatively easily if they want to.
Don’t know how that works, but are you thinking they can easily move off him via a trade, or cut him and just eat $21M a year?
Well, they can’t really move off of him in 2024. It’s like a $60 million cap hit or something. But 2025 it’s easy to cut or trade if someone really want’s him.
Do Giants fans hate the Vikings more than the Cowboys and Eagles now?
22.2 million cap hit in 2025 is not even remotely easy.
If you pull up a 2023 chart of dead money, only 10 teams have dead money over 25 million.
Median is 21.82 million.
Bottom 19 teams are all under 13 million.
Thats you average teams total dead money wrapped up in one guy.
Should say bottom 10 teams
Vikings have $42 million in dead money for 2023.
Not really.
69.3 million dead cap in 2024
22.2 million dead cap in 2025.
Those are massive cap hits to take.
The Vikings are going to take a $28 million hit for Kwirk next year. 22 sounds pretty good.
There’s a huge difference between accounting gimmicks like void years which put that money into the future without the player and just cutting a guy.
The average team has less that 21 million dead cap money in 2023.
That’s basically 10% of the payroll.
Accounting gimmick or not, it’s still going to be a dead hit. I still think they could extend him if he doesn’t retire and is willing to take a 2 year deal. I laid out a rough starting point the other day that I could see happening. I don’t remember what I had come up with and don’t feel like going back and finding it.
Yeah, I think the sticking point is KAM wants control of the player. He wants to be able to cut him or trade him as he wishes. Cousins isn’t going to sign a contract that gives that kind of control over him to a GM. Just not in the cards.
He’s going to be hard pressed at 36 to find a team willing to give him what he wants. Unless he wants to go the route of Phillip Rivers/Matt Ryan to end his career, his best bets are to retire or sign a deal 2-3 year deal without a no trade clause. I don’t see any team in the league that is going to give out a fully guaranteed 3-4 year deal at this point to a 36 year old QB who hasn’t won anything in his career. The teams that are short a QB are not contenders and will just go the rookie route.
Maybe LAR if Stafford retires.
Patriots? Belichek isn’t giving the sort of deal that Kirk is going to want.
Atlanta? Maybe but they’re not really a contender. If Ridder doesn’t cut it they’ll draft another one.
Chicago maybe, but I don’t see them being willing to sign the contract Kirk is going to want looking at their history of cutting QBs.
The 2 that would make the most sense and might give him the contract in my mind are Vegas because McDaniel is going to be desperate if he isn’t fired. They’re not a contender with or without Kirk though. Option 2 is GB if they aren’t satisfied with Love. They actually have some talent on the team. I just don’t know if they would do the deal.
If Cousins truly wants to fill the trophy niche he had built his best bet is to stay in MN and sign a deal that gives the team some room to work and build for the future. I laid out how you can make it work and add big incentives to get him plenty high in cash, if he performs. Drafting a QB and re-signing Cousins are not mutually exclusive options. I think doing both could be extremely beneficial.
Correct.
I actually listed the teams that were possible, and it isn’t a very big list.
Kirks choices are going to be pretty limited.
That said, some GM could be dumb enough to do it though.
After how the few guaranteed contracts have worked out I just don’t see a GM/team that is in a situation where it would make any sense. I guess we’ll see if Kirk wants to play and win or make money.
I didn’t read all this Bow, but Cousins will choose his own path in the end. No GM will ever sign him to a contract without a no trade clause and a lot of guaranteed money, because that’s the only way a player can control his own destiny.
If that isn’t possible (as I think you intone) he’ll just retire.
I highly doubt Cousins retires in 2024. He will take the deal with the most guaranteed dollars, wherever that takes him.
He better be pretty confident there’s a team out there willing to give him what he wants before free agency. If he hits free agency, he isn’t coming back to MN. Once free agency starts I believe the void years accelerate and the cap hit for him goes to 28 mill.
OTC is already showing a $28.5 million cap hit for 2024.
So how do the void years work? I see that $28.5M hit in 2024, but I also see $10.25M in 2025, and the $4M hit in 2026 and 2027. How much money has actually been pushed out into later years by the Vikings front office?
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings/kirk-cousins-9915/
If they sign him to an extension before the end of the league year, his cap hits, before the new hits are:
2024 – $10.25
2025 – $10.25
2026 – $4
2027 – $4
If they don’t extend him, all of that cap hit becomes due so $28.5 in 2024 if this is his last year. A one year extension would be a cap hit of $10.25 plus new hit in 2024 and a hit in 2025 of $18.25.
A 2 year extension would be the same as above in 2024. 2025 hit would then be $10.25 plus new hit. There would be a hit of $8 in 2026 then.
With the $8 mill hit in 2026 with a 2 year extension, that’s why I think they try for a 2 year extension, hopefully with little or no void years. That doesn’t preclude them from extending him again should he continue to play at a high level and they don’t draft a rookie that they feel confident in.
Thanks. I honestly was puzzled about all the different amounts and how that was all really working.
They add void years because a signing bonus is spread out over the life of the contract, up to 5 years. But like a credit card, that “debt” must be paid. The money has been paid to the player, but the NFL needs it’s “hit” in the form of cap hit and since it’s a hard cap they can’t pull MLB type stuff and pay players for decades after they are out of the league.
Incentives could be built into a contract as well that would not hit. Say for example they gave Kirk an extension and in 2024 he has an incentive to win the SB. That would be deemed a “not likely to be earned” incentive so that $10 million would not count against the 2024 cap. If he were to earn it, it would hit in 2025. The incentives can be about anything you want. If it was yardage based for example, I believe they look at his history and if it’s a number larger than anything he has done before, it’s not likely to be earned. If it was a number around or lower than where he normally ends up, then it is likely to be earned so it affects the cap that year. If he doesn’t hit those numbers, the team gets a cap credit the following year. That’s why every teams actual cap number is different.
We’ll see. No trade clause, guaranteed money AND a team he believes in. That’s a tall order to fill. I’m leaning towards retirement and a singing career.
If he agrees with your assessment that he can play effectively for another 5 or so years and he wants to win a championship like he has said, why would he retire? To retire if those are true would just be an unbelievable level of stubbornness. If at the end of the year he decides he’s tired of the grind and getting hit that’s one thing, but to retire because no GM will meet his demands at the age of 36 doesn’t advance anything. His first guaranteed contract got a couple of other guys paid and none of those guaranteed contracts has worked out. GMs are not going to do it again. Most especially for a 36 year old.
Bow, seriously, Cousins will either play for a team he believes in with a contract to his liking, or he won’t play anymore. This is simple.
So due to stubbornness he will not be playing next year. The mythical team you are describing does not currently exist. Either that or a “team he believes in” will simply boil down to money and he’ll get the contract he wants while playing out the final years of his career with no real chance of winning a playoff game, much less a championship.
You characterize it any way you wish Bow.
I’d like him tosign for a couple years while they try and find a qb. My God, he must have enuf money. Lake front in Michigan. Maybe he wants not to move.
Julie has expensive tastes…I hear she shops a lot at Big Lots.
Like I said.
Jones isn’t going anywhere for 2024.
But if the Giants want to cut him in 2025, it could happen easy.
Kirk has $28.5 million cap hit in 2024 and isn’t even under contract.
So, you do realize the Cousins cap hit in 2024 has nothing to do with him, right??? You seem to be villainizing him because next year the Vikings front office will have pay the cap debt they deliberately built up over the years. Or maybe I’m wrong and you’re not blaming Cousins for how the front office has managed his contracts?
2025 … nothing guaranteed.
$22 million dead cap hit if cut.
Kirk Cousins has a $18 million dead cap hit in 2025 and isn’t even under contract.
So basically, coach is pissed because he has a younger version of Kirk Cousins at QB, except his version of Kirk can actually run for a first down.
Cousins has thrown for 11 TD’s in the first 4 games. Jones has 2.
Yeah, they’re almost identical.
Has his worst game statistically and we win. Go figure.
Drew Locke has more 1st half TDs than Daniel Jones this year
Checks the records…..
Both teams are 1-3.
QB stats don’t mean jack.
Laughing… checks on blowout losses… TD’s make a difference.
so a loss by 25 points and and loss by 1 point are treated differently?
Never heard of that before.
With lots of TD’s, one team is in the game, and has a chance to win. Without lots of TD’s, the other team is sunk. That’s the reality here.
We’re talking about QB play. If you have a QB who is putting up the most TD’s in the league, you have a better chance to win, than if you don’t.
Are you counting the TDs to the other team?
Certainly the QB’s overall performance is in the equation, but I think we started this discussion when someone compared Jones to Cousins, and Jones has thrown pick 6’s too. So let’s not go wandering too far off the discussion path here. Jones has 2 TD’s and 6 interceptions in four games.
And with all of that terrible QB play they have the same record as the Vikings, who have an awesome QB, allegedly.
And with all that terrible QB play they are getting squashed in front of their fans and not competitive in the least, all for $160M.
Like the Dallas game last year?
I was thinking more like the 11 one score games we won and 8 game winning drives, but you focus on whatever you want.
I am actually very excited / nervous for the Twins. Ill admit that I gave up on them before the All Star Break and stopped watching all together when they got walked off by a grand slam in KC in late July. However, I started paying attention again late August and there was a very clear transformation happening. This will be a long post so if you dont care at this stage, keep scrolling then. (MT you need this disclaimer on your posts on the daily).
The Twins pitching has been tops in the league overall all season and looks to keep that on track. This is the best lineup they have had since 2006 (the last time I actually believed in the team). And their offense, with hurt stars out and playing bench players on the daily has been top 5 in the majors and top 2 or 3 in the AL post ASG. They have been impressive. I seriously believe this team is a sleeping giant that no one wants to face and can go the distance, much like when that Nats or Philly did in years past. I was not around for the ’87 or ’91 runs so I dont have that to compare to other than the Twins were massive underdogs in those years as well and came out of no where with top pitching and clutch hitting, they have that this year again and for once dont play the Yankmees.
The stars are aliened and this is the first MN Team I have legit hope and confidence in since the 2017 Vikings. No doubt about it Im ready to be hurt again.
#FuckCanada #FuckTheBraves
No expectations. They flirted around .500 most of season in the worst division in MLB. Not sure what to expect from Lopez. I know one thing, curtail strikeouts and advance runners.
Correct, however the MLB changed they way the schedule plays out this season. Its totally different. Less games against division opponents and you play every team in the league at least once. And they hung in and tied or even won series against all the big dogs this season except Atlanta and TB I think? So being in a bad division does not mean nearly as much as it did. And they are hot to end the year. They have the best record post ASG. Appears you are sleeping on them too ๐
Iโm with you. Iโve listened to about 80 or so Twins games this year on the MLB app – not having the Yankees in the way is nice for a change. I think they can make a deep run too.
โ91 World Series was the greatest of all time.
Puckettโs walk off homer in Game 6 is still my favorite Minnesota sports moment.
Jack Morris going the distance and beyond the next night was the grittiest pitching performance Iโve ever seen – Curt Schillingโs bloody sock can suck it.
Joe Carter’s walk off World Series winning homer over the Phillies is the greatest all time baseball moment…no contest.
What about Kirk Gibson’s when he could hardly walk.
Great game call by Vin Scully
I don’t know.
The Phil Nikro ball marking thing was pretty awesome.
Saw the tool fall out of his back pocket live on TV.
Heh that was hilarious.
Wowโฆ. So doctors get high too huh?
Obviously wasnโt alive for it but Iโd give the โgreatest baseball moment of all timeโ to Bobby Thompsonโs โShot Heard โRound The Worldโ
pfft I don’t count ancient history that happened long before we were born.
Interesting you didnโt refute the โdoctors get highโ comment.
I see you Sawbones!
I would love to see a run like 1987 or 1991.
I doubt it happens.
19th straight playoff loss incoming…..
Believe! This isnt the Vikes
Until they bring back Buxton and Gallo.
They arent that stupid lol. Neither will see the field this series and the only way they do in the future is off the bench.
I know, but that would be the Minnesota nice thing to do.
“You guys suck, doncha know. Awww, we can’t stay mad at you, get in there.”
This is a MN sports team.
I know! But someone somewhere has to break the curse! It can rain during a drought, if only for a day.
I know, and it would be great.
I was as shocked as anybody when the Twins won in 87.
Fun times to be bartending.
i agree with you.
i think we have the team to make a lot of noise.
to make it in the playoffs you need PITCHING PITCHING PITCHING and this is probably the first times the twins have ever had 3 top of the rotation pitchers. Besides when they had Santana, Liriano and…i guess radke maybe? This is by far the best rotation…
our bullpen is deep when you can add arms like Ober and Kenta.
This is probably one of the best lineups we have had as well, LOVE LOVE LOVE having guys like Farmer, Castro and Solano coming off the bench for us.
I’m leaving work at 3 and watching every second of the game.
Please don’t disappoint us, boys. please.
Ill have it streaming at work. Might finish at the bar after work depending where its at.
I’m a little empathetic for you guys, might even feel a little pity when the Jays eke it out.
There a line on KC game?
Last I saw KC -5.5
Think we’ll contest in this game, unless Mahomies gets a 3rd and 22. Game over then.
If Taylor is there KC by 24. If she’s not, KC by 12.
Temps 20 degrees above average, by Friday 15 below average. Minny at its finest.
Stupid work making me work and then I got to go home to do more work in the cornfields. October is my favorite month x100, and it goes by in about 10 seconds while each day takes roughly one year.
I could have told Einstein all about the relatively of time without any fancy maths!
I was the grunt and my wife’s ex the foreman for a quarter mile fencing project this last weekend. He worked me like a mule which is fine cuz he had and knew how to run all the fancy equipment. Saturday was far worse than Sunday as we were taking down the old POS fence and I walked that quarter mile back and forth at least 40 times. Sunday we got into a real teammate situation as with the ground being damp and soft we didn’t need to use the whap whap whap attachment, instead loaded up the bucket of the Bobcat with T-posts after stretching bottom wires and putting up gates. We were averaging about 90 seconds a post – I would pace off, place post, he would press it down with the bucket while I would grab another, pace off, etc…
Suffice to say he has forgotten more about fencing than I know but I now have some knowledge on the subject.
It is strangely satisfying busting your ass and now seeing a beautiful straight brand spanking new fence that will outlast my lifetime and probably the lifetime of my grandkids.
However, I am very very very happy I studied hard in school and don’t have to do that every day. My right hand was so crampy and painful Saturday night after using fence pliers and brute force to pry out all the crappy rusted staples and cut cobbled together wire. Was so sweet there was a fifth strand all silted in that I pulled up.
What are you fencing in, or out?
Well, I’m guessing you know MT is a fence out state but we set the t-posts such that they faced my pasture. Got another quarter mile to do on the north piece but hope to put that off until spring. The neighbor pasture is in bad shape, she lets us/them graze to keep grass down but her fence along the highway is in bad shape and there is no future in replacing that as I’m sure her son will take over the place and presumptively lease it out at that time, 5-10 years from now.
I even talked him into using his brush hog attachment to clear a path for my cross country skiing this winter.
Have a neighbor about 200 yds away, moved in from CA. Anyhow when we had pigs they got out and were rooting up his lawn. He was fairly respectful until I told him it was a fence out state. His jaw literally dropped and he became a little snarky. All good now as I throw his dog elk hocks most falls.
Nice! That kind of work is gratifying once it is done.
We finished soybeans last night, so that is crossed off at least. The corn is the real test. That is just go, go, go until done.
Week 4 Fantasy Recap:
Best Manager – BowBunch
Worst Manager – Lifer
Biggest Blowout – KFey (vs Stu)
Closest Victory – Mick (vs. Skolly)
High Score – Surly
Low Score – Lifer
I like to stay under the Radar…that being said, I have the highest scoring team so far, and have been scored the 2nd most against, and am still 3-1. I like how im setup.
Me tooโฆ.
Lol, poor lifer
If his team didn’t suck, he’d be in first place though.
Fuck you.
Ok mfโer.
Not appropriate language for a admin.
Never asked to be one soโฆ.
Just some shit Lifer. Carry on.
True, if he didn’t suck his team would be better?
My team sucks too
And that’s despite me being a cheating whoore
DE Viking – Team sucks in spades. The end.
I’m home with a sick 1 year old and just got a break from her coughing in my face for the last 4 hours.
Regarding the vehicle question I’d say this, test drive a few different models of the type of car you want. My was was 90% sure she wanted a subaru, but she wanted to drive a few forester size SUVs before she bought one. She ended up liking a Volkswagen best, it handled and rode better, makes sharper turns, is easier to see in blind spots, and had a third row of seating in the hatch/trunk area. Of course as soon as it gets w/in 500 miles of the warranty expiring we’ll be trading it in because repair costs are quite a bit higher for that brand.
Hope she gets well soon!
Lot on your plate lately ben, hang in there.
Week 4 updated Time to Throw (TT) vs. Intended Yards (IAY) chart. Tua still substantially quicker and his average intended yards dropped. Bryce Young dropped significantly on his average distance and time to throw. Kirk stayed about the same on distance and increased the TT. Prescott still appears to be the dink and dunk king thus far. If I get bored, maybe I’ll try to mash the 2 charts together and write up some interpretations.
Week 3 for reference.
I know it was previously discussed, I am starting to think this Swift/Kelce thing is a manufactured marketing ploy. Highest watched Sunday show since the last SB. How many teen girls will take a liking to the NFL for one reason or another and the NFL gets more lifetime fans? 3 of my 4 daughters are big NFL fans.
I don’t just think that’s the case, I believe that’s the case.
I thought your favorite show was the Bachelor? Why can’t you just believe in true love?
touchรฉ
Uber-rich people marry to consolidate power. What has love got to do with it.
Twinks go for 19 straight today.
Let’s go Blue Jays!
(they are also carrying a post season losing streak)
Let’s go Cubs
Oh … er…never mind.
F both of yall! F Canada! GO TWINS! MN sports fans need something to cheer for, im calling they end the streak, they win the series and make it to within a game of the WS.
Think MT better get on band wagon or we’ll expel him back to Canada.
I’ll never root for the Twins.
Traitor.
LOL
Then you’re dead to me.
It should be a close series. Gonna run into the Astros regardless.
Asstros. Cheaters.
Toronto scares me more than the Stros.
What time is the game?
Like 3:38 on ESPN, or something like that.
The Chiefs defense is playing really well this year, allowing just 294.5 yards a game in total offense (8th best) and just 15 points a game (5th best). Detroit, which has a pretty good offense, could only muster 21 points against the Chiefs. They won that game, but the Chiefs were without Kelce, which begs the question, what is Mahomes without his O-line and playmakers?
Anyway, KOC better figure out an offensive game plan that gets our receivers open in space quickly, and run the ball effectively to try and score enough points to keep up with the Chiefs explosive offense. Can he do it?
Believe Detroit’s offense only scored 14. Wan’t there pic 6
You might be right… didn’t watch the game.
Anyone catch after the KC/Jets game that Mahomes went right to Zach Wilson and was gassing him up? Hot mic caught him saying โyouโve got the fucking talentโฆโ or something to that effect. I like that. I like that Mahomes, the worlds greatest QB, wants his opponents to also be top-flight competitors. Makes the game better.
Still think the Vikings should have tried to trade for Wilson so he could sit behind Kirk. He could have potentially taken over or at least been the bridge QB while they get a rookie ready.
Wilson does have the talent and certainly has the arm dude can sling it. His fucking coaches suck and they have sucked at the Jets for a long long time. Heโs a fucking kid work with what youโve got. He should be put in much better positions to be successful. The offensive design sucks.
I agree. He showed his lack of maturity last year but appears to have really grown from that – got that impression on โHard Knocksโ he balled out Sunday night.
Wilson has good to elite physical skills, for him its maturity and understanding defenses. He looked as good as I’ve seen him in that game. That was nice to see regarding Mahomes, similar to what Chris Jones said after the game where Rodney Harrison was a classless douche and tried to bait Jones into saying Wilson is garbage.
i’m VERY jealous of my co-worker.
He told me he watched the first episode of Band of Brothers last night and that he hasn’t seen it before.
I WISH I COULD WATCH THAT SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN
lucky dude
I got youโฆ
just look hereโฆ.
now you canโฆ. And welcome to Skoloholics.
๐
Well played!
CURRAHEE!
watched Saving Private Ryan for about the 10th time the other night and it was still great.
Great movie – saw it in the theaters when it came out and was struck at how powerful it was to war veterans. Had to have been cathartic for many of our battle-weathered vets. Grown men openly weeping at the first scene (greatest opening scene in any movie, IMO) is something Iโll never forget. Thatโs a movie I rewatch every year.
Every time I see it, it’s gut wrenching watching guys willingly go to die as the doors of the boats opened up.
You had to ignore your fellow soldiers dying in order to get up the cliff.
Yeah. The opening scene is breathtaking. Raw, scary and as close as Iโll ever come to combat. I donโt know how someone can watch SPR and then a Marvel or DC movie and call the latter a โsuper heroโ movieโฆ.
Correct.
I prefer fake violence. Saving Private Ryan I have only seen bits and pieces of. Too realistic and honestly sad. Someday I will sit and watch it.
Saw the opening 5 mn once on HBO before everything was streaming. Another time I saw the scene with the big Nazi with a Knife. Ugh.
Cartoon violence is more my speed.
I get it. Fair take. I think I appreciate it because I know itโs based on very real, very world-altering violence. Born in โ78, 80โs kid that saw so many movies/cartoons where the bad guy gets shot – but the sacrifice/loss of life wasnโt magnified. SVP put in perspective the very real violence and sacrifice of WW2 and Vets in general. As did โBlack Hawk Downโ – which Iโve read a few times but seen only once – important, but hard movie to watch. But I totally understand the preference for cartoon violence vs real.
Haven’t seen that one in a while. Another great one is We Were Soldiers.
My wife had never seen Vikings, Sons of Anarchy, or Breaking Bad. Rewatched Vikings, 2 seasons left of Sons. Sure I remember a few major things but a lot of it I have forgotten. Fun to rewatch because I don’t remember a lot of the little sub plot items and it’s like rewatching a movie where you’re like… oh man I didn’t catch that hint the first time through.
Never watched a single episode of Sons of Anarchy or Breaking Bad. I’ve seen every episode of How I Met Your Mother and The Office at least twice though and every episode of Home Improvement probably 4 or 5 times.
I bet youโd like both. BB is fantastic. I also love โThe Officeโ and HIMYMโฆ.
How I Met Your Mother never really did it for me. I tried. It wasn’t bad, just never clicked that well with me. LOVED the Office, I have watched through that many times. The shows I watched on Repeat were The Office, Parks and Rec, and Trailer Park Boys
Same to all three. I liked HIMYM because of Jason Segel – who played Marshall, a character from St. Cloud, Minnesota and a huge Vikings fan.
I laugh all the time and the jokes they take at Minnesotans and how sadly accurate they are. My wife (from Wyoming) didn’t get the mayonnaise jokes for example, until I took her to Minnesota for the first time. Then she was like, you’re kidding, this isn’t just a joke?
It is disturbingly spot on in its depiction of Minnesotansโฆ
Yep. Mayonnaise, too nice to people, know everybody, Viking lamps, “salads”, and then they had to have the Gary Anderson episode. Damn.

Based on the accuracy of the stereotypes, Minnesotans are basically Canadians with extra mayo hold the donuts and ehs.
Cobie Smulders recโฆ.
I just started Shrinking on AppleTV, starring Jason Segel.
you see that one?
Nope. Heard of it. AppleTV is like the one streaming service we donโt have. Currently we have:
NFL+ Premium – $15/month
Netflix – this is awesome and wonโt last, but somehow my wife is locked into the original $7.99/month price – we have no idea how and expect the other shoe to drop any day.
Peacock – $5.99/month
Hulu/Spotify/Disney – $15/month
Free w/in lawโs passwords
HBO Max
Paramount+
Amazon Prime
Watch a lot of Pluto/Tubi for free content.
Soon you’ll need a effing subscription to watch commercials.
Thatโs a selling point of ALL streaming services (or the upper tiers of streaming services). No commercials.
It is for now.
In theory, if everybody went with the “no commercials” subscription, streaming services would still find a way to get commercials in front of you. They aren’t going to lose that revenue stream.
They already do – many streaming service have adds on the cheapest tier of the platform. โAd-freeโ content is often the selling point to upgrading a tier. Pluto/Tubi both have lots of unedited content, with ads. Doesnโt bother me as I grew up watching commercials. Drives my wife nuts.
I like watching shows like Dateline. My God they break for 6 mins. In a 2 hour episode might be 40 mins. I love it when i fall asleep 5 mins before it’s over and i don’t know the end.
Watched a lot of โDatelineโ over the years. That and โLock Upโ interesting stuff.
I have seen many of the episodes with him and the 98 Vikings bar scene was epic no doubt about it. Ever watched him in SLC Punk? I have watched a lot of HIMYM but just never got all the way through it. Just here and there.
SLC Punk is great! Segel also played Mark Paul Gosselarโs roommate in โDead Man On Campusโ
Jason Segal plays basically the same character in everything he’s in.
Checks out.
If she liked SOA you should have her watch โThe Shieldโ – my favorite non-comedy show of all time. WWVMD?
I have never seen the Shield either. Might do that but I am going to go back through Breaking Bad with her.
Youโll love it – Kurt Sutter (who created SOA and played Otto) was a writer/director/actor on โThe Shieldโ heโs married to Katey Sagal (Gemma, Peg Buddy) highly recommend watching the series.
I knew all the info except that he had any part on the Shield lol. I also liked South Paw by him.
Sorry. Pop culture nerd and the info (all of it useless) just comes spewing out.
Iโve never seen Southpaw
Yeah it’s Sutter. If you like his style, gotta check it out.
Take mushrooms and you’ll see a lot of shit for the first time.
(btw I have never seen B o B and have started watching it a bit during my spare time now that it’s on NF)
I recently watched it, its very good.
Did you tell him he’s about 20 years late?
Have not watched that series at all. It is on my list for once the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs.
So…. I should be watching that soon.
YES! surly, check in when you start.
i’m really excited for you
Geno Smithโs TD to DK Metcalf last night was a thing of beauty. Perfect throw. Great effort on the catch. Fun to watch.
It was. But what was that DB doing standing there scratching his ass.
Freezey, do you still want downvotes to up your manhood or something?
my manhood is fine. i mean not anything to write home about or anything
but more just my street cred. wanna get that bumping
Is that the cool way to be a pansy?

Brad getting all sorts of car advice, but I think we are all in agreement that the Toyota or Honda he is looking at is way better than driving an electric car and getting stranded 20 miles outside of Jamestown.
Eagerly awaiting the stories GA will have to tell about his new fancy electric ride…
He ran out of charge and had to get towed…..
I talked to GA on twitter and got the downloadโฆso on the way up had enough charge to get from wherever in the hell Georgia to Charlotte. Got up there to the parking garage charger but it was slow and he didnโt get a full charge. He said they have a couple different types of chargers on the market, best type is a quick charge get you half way charged in about 30 min, hour will naturally give you a full charge. His home unit same at the one that was in the parking garage takes 6 to 8 hrs to charge so he had to stop half way home from Charlotte to get some more juice. Fuck that, if the vehicle canโt get me 400 miles minimum on a charge and I canโt quick charge it say in 15 min to at least 3/4 full then Iโm not interested. Not sitting at refueling stations for an hour on a trip Iโm just not wired for that I have to get back on the road and get to where the fuck Iโm going. For around your local area thatโs fine, rent a car for long trips so you donโt have to deal with that bullshit.
Thanks for the info Lifer, pretty much what I expected.
I nailed it.
EV sucks.
Thanks.
Hydrogen cars. Exhaust is water vapor, no lithium mines destroying the earth (I know they’re in China so they don’t count), no batteries to dispose of, no stress on a power grid that can’t handle it. The only problem is the politicians and those in power are invested in electric.
EV will bad eventually.
After the world is on EV, they will say electricity is bad environmental policy. Electricity used to be bad before it was good.
That actually doesn’t seem too bad, half hour break while your car charges somewhere in South Carolina.
I’ve waited a half hour for gas at the Costco pumps in Bellingham WA and at Kailua-Kona.
gum’s gotten mintier lately, have you guys noticed?
like…some of it’s just TOO minty
artificial sweeteners? Guessing.
Gum is for children
I’m an evil selfish bastard.
100% physical. Nothing wrong. almost 62.
No vaccines for me.
Not correlating the evil/selfish partโฆ.
Sounds like youโre healthy and have a lot of sand left in the hourglass.
I am. I’ve been very blessed.
*No vaccines……
We were told that if you don’t get vaccinated you are a bad person.
I’m happy to oblige.
I got the Vax and one booster since I had to or I would lose my job.
Have not gotten a flu shot since 2018 and I blame Kirk for that shot giving me the flu.
No boosters, no flu shot. 60 and on no meds.
I did get the shingles vax, since that seems to be worth it.
On the vaccine issue, I cannot complain about possibly poisoning myself with a vax, if I continue to drink booze, a known poison.
Great take. Glad youโre healthy. Hope the shingles vax pays off.
DE right now:
Good for you DE!
Thanks.
I mean I have minor annoying aches or pains but nothing major going on.
Brad-
Toyota all the way baby.
I am loving my Rav4, i get 30-32 MPG and i’m not a conservative driver.
But, how is the battery life cycle?
GF, I had a Camry for years and years. Great car. Then a bought a Subaru…I definitely prefer the Camry.
I also had a Camry – was a 2000 that I bought in 2015 for $1500 – had 280,000 miles on it and when I donated it to my high school last year it had 360,000 miles on it and still fired up and ran great – I drove that car all over the Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, etc – in all types of weather. Would highly recommend. Keep good rubber on them and fresh oil in them and theyโre road warriors..
Had a 2009 Camry.
Awesome car until it got totalled.
Also had 2000 Honda Accord and got 200,000 miles on it.
I had a 2007 Camry. That was a sweet ride. Traded it for our 2011 F-150 after my first winter in Billings and the realization they do not plow residential streets.
Kind of surprising they don’t plow often.
I lived in the snowbelts of Michigan, and almost every morning from Nov to Mar at 5am, the snowplow comes by to trap you in your driveway.
They started a couple of years ago, but they only plow if there’s a certain amount of snow since they contract it out. It then takes 3-4 days so by the time they get around to it they end up making it worse. The roads will either be hard pack and driveable and then they scrape that off causing mounds on the should and ruts or the snow will melt by the time the finish it so the contractor is just dragging a blade down a mostly melted road because they were paid for it. Usually if it snows here it gets back into the 40s within a couple of days.
Yeah I transported my heavy old 2 stage snowblower from Rochester to Billings and heard this tale of “it’ll melt soon” that first winter of 2010-2011. What a crock. Snow didn’t melt for months. I ended up buying and using a single stage Toro as those are much quicker and easy to maneuver but I cursed every winter in Billings with my corner lot and acre of sidewalks and driveway.
Yeah, that was a bad winter. Also the winter I left for a stint. Talked my wife into moving to Montana the winter of ’13-’14 and told her how the snow melts and the winter isn’t bad. We rented a place in Shepherd and it never stopped snowing. I think that winter holds the record for most consecutive days with snow cover (like 105 or so). She thought I lied to her to get her to move up here for a long time.
Yep that was the winter my basketball court had snow piled six feet deep from my snowblower and my neighbor had to come push it into higher piles with his side by side.
Also coincidentally was the first winter after we bought our MFing cabin on the top on a 6000 foot hill on the way to the Red Lodge ski resort and racked up a bazillion dollars in snow plowing bills.
I think we all saw the value of a good O-line last night for a QB. Jones got demolished. Felt bad for him, and eventually turned it off and went to sleep. The Vikings have invested many draft picks, and brought in many free agents over the last 10 years trying to build a competent O-line. To date, it’s still a work in progress, but I’ll say this. I re-watched the game and Cousins actually had a lot of clean pockets and wasn’t hit nearly as much as he has been. Also, there were a lot of actual holes for the RB’s.
Hope that continues.
Yes, our O-line has been better this year.
Line just needs to be good enough. Last year against big boys (Cowboys) we couldn’t compete. This year, against Eagles, we could. Progress With our offense, the QB is going to get hit some regardless,
Iโve got to start reading the top section as I usually just scroll straight to the commentsโฆ
In regard to GF searching for a more economical vehicle, Iโd recommend the CRV – love mine so much I bought one for my wife. Great mileage – on our trip to Vermont we averaged 35 miles a gallon. In town I get almost 26. Itโs not going to win any drag races, but for comfort and economy, you could do a lot worse.
you suggest CRV i suggest Rav4
we shall see who is right and who is wrong..
It’s ON
That’s fine.
Just stay out of the effing left lane going 50 mph please !!!!
Thank you.
Lmaoโฆ. Iโm definitely not one of those drivers. I rarely speed, as Iโm rarely in a hurry and usually riding dirty. But I always keep right on the interstate/4 lane highwayโฆ.
I like the CRV. I have ridden in a few. Never drove one yet.
I am just kinda sold on the Subaru AWD. So good in shit weather.
My mind will change a lot before I get something, since I love having no car payment.
AWD is cool and all, but in reality, the key is good tires.
i have never driven an AWD vehicle in minnesota winters and have never had an issue with slipping and sliding.
TIRES are the real key, IMO
You are correct.
I had a Grand marquis (RWD) and drove that for years, and never once got stuck. Decent tires is key.
I just got new tires on my shitty Kia, and the difference in ride is amazing.
i used to roll around in a little toyota corolla for a good number of years, handled the snow really well with good tires…
i would sell that corolla to brad if i still had it. good little car.
100%
Ditto, siped and studded on my truck.
Same. I paid cash for both – Iโll never have a car payment again. Ever. Almost bought a Subaru as well. Just liked the CRV a bit better.
It’s best to not have a car payment if possible.
It’s probably been 10 years since I’ve had one.
Hopefully that will continue.
Ws thinking about the Chiefs game. Does Jones lineup across from Ingram?
Most likely. But I bet they move him around some. He rushed off the edge a few times against NYJ.
If I’m the Chiefs I’d probably leave him over Ingram all day.
I would too. Strength of our OLine is our tackles. If Iโm K.C. Iโd bring Jones and a blitzer right over the top of Ingram all day – or at least show the look pre-snap.
If I were KOC, I would develop quick pass plays. Hopefully Kirk would just get rid of it before 2 seconds….
I would too. But don’t know exactly how to do it with our personnel. Running the ball well would help.
Even I can get rid of the ball in under two seconds. The problem is having someone available in under two seconds to get the ball to.
Our passing game isn’t built on quick throws. The route combinations we run are complex, and slow developing for the most part. We rarely throw timing routes, and I haven’t ever seen KOC run a slant or a TE crosser over the middle.
In watching the all 22 of Sundays game, the Panthers did a very good job of covering our receivers. They were all over them.
KOC must adjust the route combinations to get the ball into space quickly.
jones will lineup across Risner
I think he will move around, and I also think he could get 4 sacks this week
If you are wondering….
Nicely done VP..
exactly what i take your comments as….
Smart
Reminds me of this:
Thats funny.
