The Vikings lost to the Packers at home last night in a blowout, effectively ending their season. Jaren Hall looked every bit like the late round flier of a draft pick he is. He does not belong on a football field and its questionable if he even belongs on an active NFL roster. His final stat line was this: 5/10 67 yards and 1 pick, he also lost a fumble. The entire time he played he stared down his first read while his second read was wide open. I guess its good he played so now everyone knows he absolutely sucks and is in no way shape or form a viable option at the position. Mullens played the second half but it really didn’t matter by that point, the game was already over.
The defense was also atrocious. They got zero pass rush, CBs looked like they were looking for waldo all night with how wide open Packer WRs were all game long. Not only that, but they looked entirely disinterested in tackling and appeared to be just going through the motions after the early pick by Hall.
Minnesota Vikings Discussion Topic of the Day
Where do the Vikings go from here? Aside from QB what is the most important position to address this offseason?

Minnesota Vikings News:
The Vikings sucked last night. The end.

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
It’s Tuesday, and things are back to normal at work. Europe meeting went at 4:30 and next meeting is at 7 a.m. Busy day ahead, as folks return from the Holidays and we are spinning back up. Already had my first two cups of coffee.
Same here, back in the office. Busy week ahead.
The Undefeated Underdogs both win.
Wash-Mich in the Championship Game.
Watched the end of the Michigan-Alabama game… but then went to sleep. Missed Texas and Washington.
Penix looks good in purple….
But we have been told that he is ‘merely a system QB’.
Whatever that means.
Down goes Bama.
Go B10!!
Oh and Saban is sucks!!
Put up or shut up time for Mich.
Down 20 – 13 with less than 5m left.
20 all, 90s left in regulation.
Bama fumble, short field for Mich.
NVM, missed FG.
I have a new strategy to guarantee the Vikings win.
Put my money on the other team to win.
After 4 SBs I have learned never to bet on them.
I have not quite got up the gumption to bet against them as yet.
Might have to give it a try.
Purple lose, Mild lose, Wolves lose. I love Minny sports.
At least they’re consistent…
This game is pretty boring…
Expect it to heat up as things get desperate near the end.
I’m waiting with bated breath…
Went back to Twilight Zone.
Alabama center with the bad snap.
Man. That Michigan defense is rough
Seems like lots of good college kickers, do we need Joseph? Save more money.
He doesn’t cost us much money… he costs us games.
Not sure what he signed for, not a lot but bring in some kickers. They always do but we’ll see. Looks like a bunch of turnover going forward.
It definitely looks like a big roster transition year. The question is, does KAM have the ability to actually build a Championship team?
Not sold on him or KOC.
Michigan scores, Saban still sucks.
Lets draft Mich D-line.
More likely KAM drafts Bama’s O-line, cheaper.
Mich scores. I think either of these teams would give Purple trouble.
You may just be right here.
Tide score! Harbaugh sucks.
Michigan scores, Saban sucks.
LOL
Mich fumbles punt, they suck.
Rose Bowl starting.
Bama-Michigan seems like a decent distraction.
1st play McCarthy intercepted.
Yeah let’s get him, he fits right in here.
NVM ruled incomplete.
There was a post-game fight last night??
No one on the Vikings seemed to care enough to fight.

Not a college guy but suppose Bama/Mich worth a look.
So while I’m not a big draft prediction guy, I do think this year the Vikings need to do some things to improve the defense with some real talent as JR has pointed out a few times. I would start in the trenches, by trading down in the first round (if we can) to garner an additional second round pick, and take a big, strong, physically brutal, nose tackle. My pick for that would probably be T’Vondre Sweat from Texas. Sweat is 6-foot-4 and weighs over 350 pounds. He’s like big ass boulder in the middle of the line AND he can pressure the passer.
In the second round I’d probably go QB, because, well we’re gonna need a guy. Also in the second round, I think we need a CB. Again, I’m no draft whiz, so no idea who best fits the bill. I prefer bigger corners personally, but who’s out there that has size, speed, and a great football acumen? Dunno.
Next, we need a linebacker who isn’t tiny. All our inside linebackers are small and they get get moved out of the way on running plays pretty easily (IMO). We need a thumper.
I think we could use a big RB too. A guy that defensive backs don’t want to see coming their way.
Finally, a Guard, and an Edge guy.
We can fill some holes with free agaents of course, but they come with price tags, so have to be careful, and DON’T bring guys in who have injury histories.
I’m no GM have little knowledge of the college ranks. But football is football.
Imagine you took the team we started this season with.
Add two players and you would see dramatic improvement.
One – a stud guard or center. How many times in last two years have you seen us get stuffed on 3rd and short. We need some muscle.
Two – someone in our front seven that scares the hell out of the OC’s on the other team. You play the Rams, you better double Donald every play. You play the Cowboys, you better account for Parsons. We need a big time stud like this.
Just my 2 cents.
Like it.
Fair assessment on positional needs but i don’t know jack about players other than qb’s. Like day 1 of draft, afterwards i’m lost.
Don’t think we need to draft all of these guys.
KAM might be better to get FA/Trades for players that can plug the holes.
Maybe he won’t have to go ‘bargain basement shopping’ this year.
At least no quakes and tsunami alerts this morning. How does that volcanic rock not sink?
Porous? Full of air bubbles so it floats??
*yes I had to look up how to spell Porous.
Cheer up boys, we still the clear favorite to land Wilson at 5 to 1.
How do you show up this unprepared for a really important home game?
Add D-line, non-existent.
Run blocking? quarterbacking? Is there anything we did well?
If we had a good play i missed it, maybe went fridge to grab a beer.
Nope – you missed nothing. And we might as well add “coaching” to the list too.
I checked out somewhere in 2nd qtr, went back at times to look at score.
That’s a great question. especially after Steelers gave us a gift and go out there put on a show like that. WTH?
‘How do you show up this unprepared’
They have been practicing for the last six weeks.
They should have ‘perfectly unprepared’ ready to roll out by next week.
Here is the list of Vikings set to hit free agency in March, per Spotrac:

@We need to find a way to keep Couch!!@
5 yr, guaranteed, $100 mil.
‘How likely is it most of these 24 players will not be on the team next year?’
It will take me awhile to parse that sentence.
Just go with “who do you think the Vikings should retain off that list”?
Dependent on Cost/Length/etc I would go with:
KC (bridge QB)*
Hunter
Powell
Mundt
Wonnum
Cam
Risner
Quessenberry
*If someone is going to get beat up while we improve KC has proven he can take a beating and keep on ticking.
I think that’s a decent list.
Accidental I assure you.
Nice job – probably a better list than we end up with.
Just damn glad we still have unCine under contract.
Unseen… clever…
Lots of those i say don’t let the door hit you in the ass on way out. Notably and not a FA, i think Hitman gets cut. Like Hunter back and need to keep Darrisaw.
Got to resign Davenport.
Slow day. One would think that their favorite club just got their asses handed to them. Naa, prob hungover.
Not hungover – still trying to figure out why our favorite team did get their asses handed to them. Not much good happened.
And can you imagine the score if Love was an accurate passer.
Got Family here, DIL/SIL and three boys, 7 and under.
Have to take breaks for ‘family time’/games/meals/etc.
Having something else to think/do helps after last night.
My wife has a girlfriend in from Baltimore. She is going through a divorce, and needed some rest and relaxation. They are in the kitchen making dinner and drinking…
@Sounds like fun@
Seems like a ‘better to be seen and not heard’ situation.
The house smells great. Both of them love to cook, and they’re laughing and talking. I think this is just what the doctor ordered for her.
And you? LOL
Her talking about her ex will make NLNVF sound much better to his wife.
True. I picture NVF in a recliner with his laptop.
I think the occasional helpful chore would confirm that he is not in the same category as ‘that bastard’ of an ex.
The Teachers Ex continues to make me look good so NLNVF could syphon some of that vibe for himself.
I see Cali wants to push a health care bill for illegals costing billions. Cal deficit not big enuf? Grab teacher and get out of Dodge.
‘Cali wants to push a health care bill for illegals costing billions’
They already have one, they just want to expand it to include all illegals cause you don’t want to be racist to half the illegals.
You can bust your nuts for 45 years but we have politicians that will threaten Medicare. The New World. You can have it.
‘Virtue Signaling is better/easier/cheaper than being Virtuous’
Got a fave on bama/mich?
Normally a B10 guy so I usually go with that.
My wife and I are very happy together, and it is very evident. Her girlfriend loves that about us. We kiss and say “I love you” a lot. My wife treats me like gold, and I reciprocate. Her friend gets sort of “charged up” with being around us.
Definitely… they are both fun, and together they’re hilarious. Especially with some wine in them. Laughter is good for the soul.
Divorce is ugly, been there. Hope you all have fun. Happy New Year!
I’ve been there too, and my wife has never had the pleasure. She tells everyone she got it right the first time. Her friend’s soon to be ex, is a bit of a low-life. He doesn’t care about her, or their kids. He goes out drinking, and is usually in a foul mood. She is well educated, warm and friendly, and overall, just very cool. She has a good job with a large international firm, and he is usually in between jobs. We love it when she comes down and spends a few days with us. She refers to our house as her “fortress of solitude”.
Glad you can offer her help. Yes, toss in kids and it’s uglier. Have her back, she’ll need it for awhile.
Our house rules are, eat when you want, drink when you want, and sleep when you want. Plenty of hugs and good conversation available too.
Unfortunately all family has left. slow day, so left just thinking why our team put on that level of shit show. Even Darrisaw got his ass beat off.
Draft position
If we do draft a rookie and don’t re-sign Kirk, this line needs to play a hell of a lot better than this.
Doesn’t matter. I read here, wins and losses were a QB stat, and everything else was just excuses.
Well, Bradbury really went out of his way to have a shit game.
Check this out. Ironically, his next closest really bad game was in GB.
You’re just now noticing Bradbury sucks in protecting the passer?
My point was last night he out sucked his previous best effort at sucking.
That takes a lot of effort since we have all seen some very bad games from him over the years.
To be fair to Bradbury, he was playing a lot better in pass pro this year.
His pressure rate is around 2% this year.
Thats not bad.
The only Vikings player who looked interested in playing last night was Thompson on special teams.
Pace was good
To be honest, i didn’t notice any good defensive plays since the Pukers moved at will on them.
Was like Weinstein putting the moves on a hopeful actress on the casting couch.
Ouch…
Ex Husker/Griz Toure gave us a mercy muff
This is so bad it’s funny.
How do you get three guys sacking you?
A question for you guys that know defense that I wonder about.
First, we have a lot of secondary guys aren’t good coverage guys.
Also, see a lot of our guys running up the the line and then running back to various positions.
Wonder this, if you aren’t really good at man coverage, running backwards at various angles, gives receivers big advantage running routes at a DB doing this. Simply, just cut to the opposite angle – really easy to get open.
And this is besides having guys running all over and not covering people – we seem to confuse ourselves as much as the QB.
Is this really a good way to play defense?
Apparently, it’s genius level defense.
The problem is, first grade level offense can beat it easily.
Genius level – would have never guessed that
Totally understand what you’re saying but he’s trying to win with confusion and aggressive calling because we don’t have the dudes to win outright. Put it this way, if you want them to just sit back and play coverage without threatening the blitz then that’s more of what we did last year… Which was much worse. It’s like being behind in a fight, which our secondary is behind at the start of every game. You better swing for the fences and risk being out of position.
I have no problem blitzing and pressure defense – especially with less than stellar DB’s. But if your going to blitz, do so. All this running back and forwards puts a “bad” coverage DB at an even worse position for coverage of good receivers.
And it might fool some of the young QB’s, but not so much the experienced ones. Also. it seems to fool our own guys quite a bit.
Now, I guess this did work against the Panthers, Bears, Raiders, but not so much against Bengals, Lions and Packers.
I get it but I agree, create and cause hell. They are going to get beat if they don’t drop back, so might as well try this crazy shit and maybe something good will happen.
I see what you are saying, but I don’t think it is too big of an issue.
At lot of teams play cover 3. Which usually has a corner or safety bail out.
Tampa 2 is also a common coverage and that’s with the Mike dropping.
It’s a pretty common thing.
We just did everything poorly this game.
I remember this discussion years ago with five fingers, apparently you must be a MENSA member to decode Zimmer’s defensive playbook. It must all look good on paper but lacks in execution. All I know is our DB’s looked like Frosh while the similarly depleted Pack secondary looked like playoff caliber.
So the Packers secondary looked pretty bad on replay.
Hall was either shitting his pants as pressure came, or just shitting his pants.
Lots of pants shitting.
Who the hell here even mentioned giving Hall a chance? Haha, hope everyone had a good Holiday season. Driving back from the Vikings “game”. I was head to toe in Vikings gear (hat and socks) with a Kraft jersey on haha. His parents invited my wife and I to Cancun with them… fuckin jobs and passports though. I need to post some of the BBQ and grub I had in Austin. Absolutely awesome! Also went to the Comedy Mothership and saw Tim Dillon headline. Ruled.
I wanted hall to play to confirm that he sucks, which he indeed does
Jrob, this is very funny and sad. Take look at the pics in the Tweet. Crossers. Wide open right in front of Hall. The type of throws he made a name on in college delivering. Hall was completely rattled. Mentally not even remotely ready for this game.
If you look at the pics, there’s pressure coming but he has time to throw. Can’t replicate that in practice. Look at the last pick. He’s got like 3 or 4 guys open.
Sort of what I said below. those crossers are really easy throws and reads for a QB. On the first pass play when he took off running, was concerned.
I don’t need pics, I noticed it live watching the game
Well, it’s even worse than the TV looked.
Classic rookie stuff. Pressure+ rookie = disaster.
I think the NFL has lost its mind.
Justin Jefferson was fined $13,659 by the NFL for making a “violent gesture” during his touchdown celebration against the Lions last weekend. Jefferson very briefly made a gun sign towards a camera (at the 28-second mark of the video in the link below) with his right hand after catching a touchdown pass in the second quarter.
https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/vikings-justin-jefferson-fined-touchdown-celebration-vs-lions
They have gone woke,
Not quite as bad as the NBA has but enough to suck a lot of the joy/fun out of the game.
NFL = No Fun League
It’s most likely a proactive response to the nba player who got suspended for pulling a gun on a kid then when he got back he celebrated a play with finger guns
If you watch the video, and didn’t know that there was a gesture there he got fined for, you wouldn’t even notice it. It’s like he points at the camera for a millisecond, then salutes. Very “over the top” reaction by the NFL here. Ridiculous in the extreme.
Jaren Hall had a QBR of 1.1 on ESPN’s QB metric.
That’s pretty funny. Or sad.
I really don’t blame Hall at all. He clearly wasn’t ready and KOC shouldn’t have put him out there.
Yeah, and how in the world does KOC miss wide right on that? All we ever hear is “he’s a former NFL QB so he knows what he’s doing there”.
Clearly Zimmer was more in tune, and knew when his rookie QB had no business taking snaps.
My guess – from what I read on this site during the week. KOC wanted to stick with Mullens and got some “input” from front office.
Wes Phillips made a long, fairly rambling statement about Hall last week. Basically said that Hall was doing what you wanted to see in practice, but that doesn’t always mean they can perform on game day.
He looked really rattled back there.
I do find it funny that even with a young QB back there, and a O-line that is not blocking well, we stick with the long pass routes.
You don’t have to completely change your game plan, but maybe just come out with a few easy, high percentage throws to build some confidence?
Then work into the deep routes?
They did have short routes, especially the first two series on third down, first one Osborn was open for a first down in a shallow crosser, hall locked onto Mundt for an incompletion, second one JJ was wide ass open about 6 yards downfield but again hall locked into Mundt and made a terrible inaccurate throw that got picked.
You are right. I just went and looked at the pics of the first two plays. Easy throws.
Hall sucks. Cut him
I’m not sure why he locked onto Mundt, especially that first one, KOC said the first read was Osborn
Some of the easiest throws for a QB is the 12 -15 yard crossers right in front of his face – easy read and throw.
Pretty sure. all our schemes/routes have short, intermediate and long options. But the QB has to be able to read the defense and throw to the right guy.
Just think Hall wasn’t ready to do this at game speed, and no doubt he was nervous.
And practice versus game. There’s a lot of HOF pitchers in the bull pen!
I don’t get that.
He didn’t look that bad during his previous start.
They had a week to prepare for him then as well.
That GB Defense wasn’t any better than the Atlanta one he faced in week 12.
One series in Atlanta -first read open WR. easy throw. Hardly much to build on.
Last night, one read, not open take off.
KOC is a former QB. We run a complicated offense that requires a lot more than one read throw. KOC should have known it.
Told you he sucks
Meh.
The whole team looked unprepared.
But he did look bad out there. Probably didn’t help his confidence that for some reason our O-line decided to completely shit the bed.
Yeah and he decided to stare down his first read every play and even when guys were open he airmailed it like fucking Josh freeman
That was the funny/sad part.
He wasn’t reading or progressing through the routes.
Wasn’t accurate when he did throw the ball.
He basically looked completely unprepared to be on the field.
Looked incompetent, that’s for sure
Well, now that has been confirmed. Hall sucks. Dobbs sucks. Mullens sucks.
And, if there is pressure, #8 also sucks.
Correct, so trade up and draft maye
Well Surly, Cousins has had a ton of pressure on him every game of his career. He’s always amongst the most hit, sacked, and knocked down QB’s in the league, but somehow every year, he’s way up there in TD production, completion percentage, yards, and passer rating. So even under such relentless pressure, Cousins seems to still produce at a higher level than most of the other QB’s in the league.
Here is part of KOC’s opening statement to the media after the game:
“I didn’t think it was an effort thing. I think our guys came out with a lot of energy. Just was a combination of a lot of things. Early on the execution offensively could have been much better, and defensively, we put them on the field far too much. Green Bay had success on offense to maintain possession of the football. This is going to be one that we’ve really got to take a long look at. Starts with me, like I said. You know, I’m going to be the first one out in front of this thing, fighting to make sure we don’t have any more performances like that. Have to get right back to work this week. Going to find out kind of with everything being tested within our organization of culture and what we’ve tried to build here. In the end, we have to go back to work and try to improve with the opportunity that we have left.”
We’ve had OTA’s, training camp, pre-season games, and now 17 weeks of regular season games. Now we’re going to “go back to work and try to improve”.
Forgive me if I sound unconvinced Kevin. If you’re this bad after all the past weeks of work, 6 more days isn’t gonna change much.
Sounds like he is desperately trying to find some lipstick to put on that pig.
KOC spent the entire offseason working on our running game. The result of all that work? Only 5 teams have rushed for fewer yards per game than the Vikings (so far) this year.
I do like the “not an effort thing”. Sure looked like we weren’t trying too hard to cover or tackle.
Also, blocking was an issue again.
Looked a lot like effort to me.
Well if that was their best effort a lot of folks and coaches need to find a new line of employment.
It was 100% an effort thing, but what’s he supposed to say
“Unfortunately, we didn’t give it the effort we should have. We needed to come out guns blazing, and we didn’t”.
Looked to me like they came out with effort for the first two possessions for each team, then the defense seemed to pack it in
There’s an old saying in business, sports, whatever – we don’t evaluate effort, we evaluate performance.
FFS KOC don’t go out and win this next meaningless game to make a point.
Frankly KOC has no chance winning this next game IMO.
Not paying attention (wonder why). Are the locked into a seed? It would be so stupid winning and lowering draft status.
I’m sorry, but losing to improve draft position doesn’t work for me. Especially since KAM is absolutely incapable of executing a competent draft strategy.
Well, true on KAM. I’m just in a i don’t give a shit mindset today.
Pretty much where I am.
That may change by the season final but I can’t see my ‘give a damn’ meter being fully reset by then.
If the team played with the same heart/energy/’kumbaya’ as the showed last night I agree, no chance.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Happy New Year!
Vikings Twitter is wild. There is still a subset of hard core Dobbs guys out there and want to see him next week.
At this point we are just playing for draft position, and I fine with losing to the Lions.
Well truthfully I’m never good with losing… but I’m getting a little resigned to it. I want the team to finish on a high note with a solid win next week. I’m not counting on it though.
I get the same way too. I say I want them to lose and get the better pick, but then I usually get happy if they win.
I’m really burnt out on the Vikings.
Similar to where I am today.
Can’t say I want them to lose but after last night (month?) I really don’t care one way or other.
At least losing helps with the draft order but I have little faith at the moment that KAM will get the pick right.
I can’t listen to KOC word salad press conferences, am not interested in debating those with KDS one way or another.
Might start taking a closer look at Mocks, don’t know a QB 1st rounder would be for the best until we get a decent o-line to protect them.
Maybe later this week I will be over it enough to care about that stuff.
It’s a sorry state of affairs when you want your team to not do well for a better draft pick and easier schedule the following years.
You are right about the sorry state of affairs.
I’m not actively cheering for them to lose.
I just don’t care now if they do.
Won’t even remotely bother me.
Oh I know what you mean. It’s just sorry we all have to say fuck it maybe next year. So many “loser” teams in the NFL are always playing for next year.
It’s all we have now. I lived through the decade of darkness with the Oilers. How the F does a hockey team miss playoffs for a decade straight when 80% of teams make it in. FFS the last thing we need is a Kumbaya moment in Detroit.
We have the 12th pick right now.
If the Falcons, Bears and Raiders win, we could get the 9th once we lose to the Lions.
We had games like this last year where the team just showed up completely unprepared.
Hall looked scared out there. Not just Completely unprepared, but like he legitimately didn’t belong out there.
O-line somehow forgot how to block.
I’ve no idea what to say about our run game.
Flores defense is completely exposed and looked fundamentally unsound.
Evans and Blackmon, who had some up and downs, both somehow have forgotten how to cover and tackle.
The run defense sucked.
The short passes were still wide open.
Now they added in the deep ball as well.
The entire team didn’t come ready to play.
Sloppy crap play.
Pretty much covers it. They had everything to play for, and completely failed.
I’m still amazed with what happened with out defense.
I’m pretty much a no body who just likes watching film on Twitter for fun.
If I can spot a huge weak spot in your defense, that’s bad.
Also, I think Byron was the only CB that could play man. Blackmon and Evans get burned damn near every time. They have somehow gotten worse.
Yeah it’s almost like the defense was playing better than they actually were most of the season and eventually lost enough players to injury that they couldn’t overcome CBs who can’t cover, 3rd string pass rushers who can’t get pressure, and a dline with incredibly limited talent. This defense has one impact player in Hunter, Metellus has made a few big plays too but not consistently. Pace has been a nice surprise and solid but he doesn’t do anything special, nor does anyone else on that side of the ball. Flores did exactly what everyone said he needed to do prior to the season, get the defense into the 15-20 range. The fact he did that despite playing shitbags like Evans and Blackmon at CB and talentless dlinemen is surprising.
Philips has a little talent. Otherwise pretty much agree. You follow Evans on Twitter? Guy has lost it and was arguing with rando fans a couple of weeks ago.
Its too bad. He looked promising for a while.
Sadly, the last couple of weeks Booth looks better than Evans and Blackmon.
And its not because Booth is good.
Phillips is very good in the run game, offers nothing as a pass rusher and that’s the problem with all 3 DTs, they can’t get push in the pass rush.
I get what you’re saying.
We use him like a nose tackle though, and those guys are usually fat and slow, but stuff the run. He’s like the fat part of the Williams wall. Good at stuffing the run.
Yeah, they need another Kevin Williams
Yep.
Yeah I don’t follow Evans but saw a couple screenshots, Murphy is no lock down corner, but I was shocked how much they missed him, I can’t remember the last time I saw so many wide ass open WRs running free with no CB in site, I’m sure it was Flores scheme though and had nothing to do with players sucking.
No. The WRs running free was a poor effort thing.
His scheme is exposed though. You just need to keep working the flats. Both can be true.
Cousins cannot even be a proper cheerleader. As soon as I saw Kirko Chainz leading the Skol chant, I looked at my wife and said “this is bad”
Always #Kirk’sFault
Can’t even inspire his team.
LOL
A very cold (and short) handshake between KOC and LaFleur after the game last night. Not much respect there?
Well it was Frosh vs Varsity out there. LaFleur probably offered some tips and KOC grabbed his ball and went home.
Nice to see Booth Jr sweeping the monopoly board off the table in the post game. Classy. Hope he’s benched next weekend. Get raped at home and you can sulk when you’re not nationally broadcast.
What a difference a half season makes.
First game when we had our QB we beat them soundly at their place. Injuries killed us, but that showing yesterday was pathetic. No heart, no soul, no fight.
Well, if you just curb stomped your Division rival in front of their home crowd, you probably don’t want to rub it in, and if you just got curb stomped, you probably don’t want to talk about it.
Re Ben’s question.
Finish 7-10. Way too many holes on roster. I would not package up multiple picks to move to a #3 pick. I’d stay put and pick defense every round. Next season 1-16 we can go QB #1 or pick up more draft picks and go QB later. Rinse and repeat. 2028 looking good!
Well it sounds like I can just play golf on Sundays the next 3 years then. Grin.
Re Ben’s question: GM and head coach.
True that.
I want a leader demanding performance. Something like “ there’s no one on this team that wants it bad enough to win the SB”
we need 10 Ivan Pace Jrs
What an absolute shit show last night.
The only excitement was Kirk blowing the Galla horn.
It was a cool moment. Someone from the nosebleeds threw a paper airplane onto the field. That was fun. The fried cheese curds were awesome.
Team was lifeless.
Zero pressure by the vaunted Flores D.
Back to DE.
Feel bad for you. Go all that way to watch your team and they put on a shit show like that.
Hope you at least had a couple of good brews.
Safe travels..
Thanks.
My 90 year old mom came to DE for Christmas and I flew back with her to MN. We had a party for her, so that’s why I went to the game.
I would have really been pissed if I flew out just for the game.
Sorry DE, you should have been paid to watch that. Happy New year.
it was wild listening to crowd noise go from 130 dB first series to 10dB end of half, loudest noise was “Go P Go”
Sorry you had to sit through that. What the hell has happened to our D?
I think they were trying to get a NFL record. Unfortunately, the record they chose was “yards given up during a critical game for playoff spot at home against division rival with identical record”. I’ll definitely not shed a tear with Flores and Davenport leaving along with a couple of our DB’s.
we got suckered into positive thinking while we were playing some of the scrub offenses in the league.
I did warn you.
Only two times I watched a game in that fancy stadium, the pre game Skol chant was the highlight.
Yeah you did.
I doubt I will ever go to US Bank again, unless the team is actually good to great.
I have not been since 2018, and have zero desire to go back unless a LOT of things change.
Zero sacks, 3 “hits”. Dominating. We can make any qb look all world.
Indeed… this has been our “super power” for the last many years.
I just can’t believe how the defense has fallen apart the past few weeks. What the hell happened?
It does not matter who plays QB for us, with a defense playing that badly.
Lesser defenses look good playing the Panthers, Bears Broncos Raiders Saints like offenses. Playing against teams with an adult QB and a good play caller, makes a difference.
Teams now know that the vaunted Flores defense is susceptible to outside runs or quick outs.
Queens still on playoff bubble boys. Let’s do it!!
Maybe watch some college ball to get bad taste out of mouth.
Might work. I was thinking of just ignoring it completely for a while after last night’s performance.
That is my plan today. Watch the college playoff games.
Happy New Year everyone.
What a piss poor performance last night.
KOC knew Hall wasn’t ready – just look at his facial expressions in the 1st Qtr – and still put him out there in an important game.
As bad as offense has been, defense has become abysmal. Sorry Flores, those guys don’t look well coached.
Where do we go from here (may change my mind about this) – go out FA or draft and get ONE dependable stud for our defense. Someone to be counted on every single play..
Will say this, thank God Love misses a lot of easy passes or it could have been a lot worse!
Happy New Year JR. I think the word abysmal sums it up nicely.
Happy New Year to you. After Settle lost earlier, I still find it hard to believe we can out and put up an effort like that. I’m usually a KOC fan, but not today.
Honestly, I think you hit the nail on the head a while back when you highlighted the team’s lack of physicality. Clearly last night we were getting trucked on both sides of the ball. Our DB’s weren’t willing to make a tackle, all night long.
Well my step 1 solution for the GM – go out and get a stud guard or center and a stud front seven guy for the defense.
Until you do this, everything else is just whipped cream.
The DBs are obviously coached to play like pussies
Agreed.
Happy New Year, mate.
Entire organization is bad, from ownership on down.
Makes it easy to stop paying attention.
Imagine paying for season tix and watching the team go 2-6 at home.
Could try and look forward to the draft, but why? They will botch that yet again.
I expect another decade of losing football, so I will work on my golf game and video games instead of watching this shitty team.
Oh… Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Surly… kinda feel the same as you. I have no faith in KAM’s ability to pick the right guys in the draft, and I have little faith in KOC to prepare the team to win, game in and game out.
