I thought we had the FDA. And part of their job is to go around food plants, and sample products to ensure the net weight on the can/package/rapper is within tolerance what it is suppose to be.
Yeah, but the companies slowly shrink packages because people won’t notice that as much as a price increase so instead a 12 oz in something, they put 11 oz. The package will say 11, but the average person is not going to notice the difference.
I assure you if it’s a bottle of beer, I’ll notice.
Same with a 5 oz large snicker.
Things like beer they just raise the price because people will pay it. Things like potato chips, if the price just increases a bunch people may start thinking twice. If you keep the price the same and remove an ounce or two per bag, people don’t notice or think about it as much because they are paying the same overall money.
With potato chips, they leave the price the same, keep the bag the same size. They just lower the clear portion of the bag down so you don’t see that 2/3 of the bag is just air.
We have noticed it with lots of items, pasta noodles, cookies, etc.
Smaller packages holding less for the same price.
It is either that or pay more for the ‘original size’.

Having the NFL on your side helps. They were already talking about the Chiefs winning back to back at half time. Not hypothetically, like it was already done. Gooddell was hanging out with Swift during the game and Taylor’s friend was throwing up demonic signs on the jumbotron. It was a forgone conclusion months ago that the Chiefs would win the SB. My wife and I even predicted how the game would finish when the 4th quarter started. It was painfully obvious and predictable.

Maybe outside of this place, Kirk was playing as a top 10 QB. JJ is easily a tope 10 WR. Hunter is a top 10 rusher.
Our secondary – crap.
Our LB’s below average.
Our DL – below average.
Our RB’s – poor
Our OL – better st pass blocking but runs not so good.
Our WR’s – top 10.
So looking at all of that, I find it “interesting” to get rid of our few talented players. I’d rather stsrt by getting rid of the dead wood. But I’m no GM.
I think the Vikings are experimenting every few years to see what position(s) you need to be great at, and which ones can be overcome in order to be successful.
We’ve had the Moss and JJ years – no SB.
We’ve had the Peterson years – no SB.
We’ve had many renditions of exceptional Dline – 4 appearances but no wins.
We had the mobile QB years – 3 appearances, no wins.
So, some really bad analysis of those facts tells us that we need a mobile QB, exceptional Dline, and at least one of the other positions to be great in order to maybe win one.
Didn’t we also have two HOF QB’s and didn’t get one either?

If every qb is Brady or Mahomes, then they wouldn’t be special.
The issue is that the few good players we have, are looking to get big contracts which will put a strangle hold on the rest of the team.
Seems some teams figure this out. Cap stuff is not my thing but look at Dallas. they will pay DAK 60 MIL, find a way to pay Lamb and Parsons, pay two all Pro lineman, an edge rusher and an all Pro CB. Rams pay Stafford, Darnold and all the rest. Seems it can be done.
Now, these teams are good at drafting too.
At some point, yoo gotta pay the piper.
If you have 2 or 3 franchise players on high salary, the rest need to be draft picks on low salaries.
Dallas is headed for the toilet soon.
The Saints are still over the 2024 cap by like $80 million plus. they have 13 players earning double digit millions. ($10 millon plus per year each)
The Vikings have 7, with 2 of them not even on the roster for 2024.
I guess you do – don’t know the cap stuff. But getting rid of JJ (because he’s expensive) for draft picks, and even Hunter, is just hard for me to swallow.
We won’t get anything for Cousins or Hunter this year, if we let them walk. However, we will get okay comp picks for next years draft.
It is yet to be seen if Dallas can keep all of the players you mention. Lamb still on rookie deal, Parsons on rookie deal. We’ll have to see who they are able to keep in the next couple years.
JJ commands more than that.
JJ for a swap of 2024 1st rounders with AZ seems better.
And AZ can throw in 2025 1st rounder.
Depending on “the chart”, maybe.

If the QB we want is available, it would be nice to keep our 11 pick and get a stud D-lineman as well.

Yeah, it was Floyd in 2015. There was a stretch from 99-05 where we were picking DL almost every year in the 1st.

I gave the 49ers up for dead when they did nothing with Mahomes’s interception. If you let Mahomes hang around, he’s going to win. Period. End of.
The 49ers did hang in there better than expected, but it’s tough to beat a unicorn QB. I hope Mahomes never passes, Brady, though, for the following reasons:
I thought the same about the Mahomes pick, but the kicker ended up being one of the biggest factor in missing a PAT.
Yep, a low PAT kick that was blocked. A very big play.
Also, the punt that hit a Niner’s player in the foot turned the game, as well.
If the 49ers made the PAT, I reckon Mahomes would have driven them in for a TD, and the game wouldn’t have even went to OT.
I think the 49ers could have been a bit more aggressive on D that last drive, too. It’s like they conceded the FG, but they should have been playing with the realization that if the game went to OT, they weren’t winning it.
Why did the Niners choose to take the ball first in OT knowing both teams get the ball?
I found that odd also. Wouldn’t you want to see what the other team does so you would know what you needed to do? Not that it would matter, because SF struggled to get into the end zone. They had several good drives that stalled out in the red zone.
They didn’t because the NFL wanted the drama of Mahomes throwing a walk off game winning TD. Can’t have that if the Chiefs score first. It would have been less dramatic for the Chiefs to score first and then the Niners drive stall out.
Can go a lot of ways. If you get ball second, and other team scores first, you have four downs. But if both teams get stops, team taking the ball first can then win with a FG.
And now we wait, until Mid-March to see if Kwesi does anything, and then we wait until the draft, and then we wait for preseason hype, and then I am pissed again by September because the Vikings will suck.
I enjoyed the ad for the Ghosts tv show. Thor said if he were alive, he would be at the big game, but then said Vikings rarely get invited.

49rs first TD should have been called back for illegal man downfield.
Chefs had a few calls go their way in the second half, and one bad spot that hurt them.
Overall the officiating was less of a factor than I expected.
Purdy played really well, got his team the lead in OT.
It was on the defense to stop Mahomes, and they could not.
Best QB is building his dynasty, but it is going to be rough to win #4. They have a very good defense, but will have to pay some people. I think Mahomes needs to restructure and just charge State Farm more for the stupid ads.
Mahomes is Mahomes, But this game was big boy football in he trenches on both sides of the ball by both teams. It all starts there.

49rs needed one stop, and could not get it.
Both calls were excellent from Reid. the 4th and 1 counter taking advantage of Bosa’a pursuing was special. And the misdirection for winning TD was a great play design – defender had no chance.
I did not know about the overtime rules changes. It would have been nice to see it extend into the 2nd quarter of OT.
