Vikings news
Nothing new of note, though JJ McCarthy weighed in at 219 lbs at the combine and showed plenty of arm strength.
QOTD
I got nothing.

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Might be my new late round draft crush if we need a Defensive Anchor. 6-7th rounder currently.
Omar Speights
LB
LSU
Height: 6 – 1 |
Weight: 235 lbs |
RAS: N/A
Omar Speights logged over 300 total tackles in his career at Oregon State, before transferring to LSU. He’s been underrated across that entire span, and he’s one of the 2024 NFL Draft’s biggest sleepers. At 6’1″, 237 pounds, Speights is a rocked-up second-level defender with impressive mass. That mass amounts to great play strength both as a block destructor and a tackler. But Speights also brings quality burst, range, and short-area agility as a coverage defender, and he’s very instinctive when managing the middle of the field. -Ian Cummings
NFL linebackers have to be able to fill the run gaps, and stuff the runner even if they’re being blocked. They also have to be able to rush the passer effectively, on blitz packages. Finally they have to cover RB’s out of the backfield, and also TE’s running crossers and outs.
It would be nice to know if this guy can do these things, and also have the football acumen to decipher plays.
All I know is what it says. I am like KAM that way, I need input from knowledgeable people like scouts and coaches.
‘But Speights also brings quality burst, range, and short-area agility as a coverage defender, and he’s very instinctive when managing the middle of the field’
OK, if Flores brings him in, it means he thinks he can run his defense. Because that’s what the middle linebacker does.
We shall see…
As a rookie late rounder I suspect he would on special teams, then once he got ahold of the mental aspects then he would play Defense.
It might take more Pace Jr time but hopefully not Cine time.
Re-watching the original RoboCop, hoping watching the movie again will help me decide if I should get the video game or not.
Since the game got good reviews and the movie still is fun I might go for it.
Also, go Bruins.
They made a video game? I actually rewatched in the last year, still an entertaining, not great film
They did, and it appears to be decent. Think I’m going to shell out the € 29,99 they charge for it on sale.
Rattler finished last in QB testing.
Slowest 40
Slowest broad jump
Slowest 3 cone
Slowest shuttle
Guessing KAM drafts him.
Probably be a HOF’er
Slowest 40
Slowest broad jump
Slowest 3 cone
Slowest shuttle
Not sure how vital any of those are to being a successful NFL QB.
I watched all of his combine throws. When he wasn’t late he was wide or high. Can drive the ball downfield but was inconsistent. Underwhelming deep ball. Wasn’t impressed.
Correct, as I have said many times, he sucks
Benjammin is a negative nelly.
Knows college pretty good. I didn’t watch a minute of combine so i don’t know jack shit.
Oh, Ben knows much more than I about college football prospects, and we both agree that JJ is the way to go.
BUT if not JJ, I kind of think Rattler might be worth a 5th round flier…he disagrees.
If you’re looking for a developmental backup, yes he’d be fine day three, but that’s his ceiling.
Lots of people say lots of things.
Many times those things and those people are wrong.
I’ve seen Rattler play well at OU. Saw him get benched and then transfer. Played well at times for the Gamecocks. His main issue is consistency.
Despite the underwhelming performance at the combine I’d still take a late round flier on him – if they don’t go QB in the first 2 rounds.
I am never wrong when I say a player will sucks, like 99% of the time, I also don’t give an opinion is I’ve not seen a fair amount of said player.
But his is a slinger!!!
5th round diamond in the rough….HE’S A SLINGER!!!
Which means Kwesi drafts him.
Russell Wilson cut by Denver
Let the games begin.
Russ to Minny.
The issue is what would he want in year 2 or 3.
Maybe he agrees to play somewhere for one year.
Think he will be cheap. 2 years $20m fully guaranteed.
Hmmm… my prophecies are humming…
When you think about it, Kirk to Atlanta really really makes sense, especially for the off field personal reasons. But also on the field, last time he played the Falcons he threw the ball to them more than he did to Vikings WRs.
The 9-0 Supreme Court decision today is an important one, and in a way telling. Clearly the judges are not going to stray too far from legal limits. It is clear liberals want judges to legislate from the bench, and and even violate the Constitution if they can. However, in the Constitution, Article three makes it quite clear that judges must be held accountable. That said though, it’s hard to do so. There is language about “holding offices during good behaviour” which has been interpreted to mean that the only way federal judges can be removed from office is if the House of Representatives impeaches them, and the Senate convicts them, of “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Only fifteen judges have ever been impeached (that is, formally accused by the House of Representatives) and only eight have been convicted and removed from office.
It is also fun to watch the Fake News/Woke heads explode.
Well those fake news, woke people are not good for the country, or our society in my opinion. We shouldn’t be telling 5 year olds in our schools it’s time for them to begin their “gender journey” for instance. That makes me very mad.
You see this story about 60 Minutes trying to tear down Moms for Liberty including post interview voiceovers.
And to think they used to be the Standard for news coverage.
Yea – that section was a complete hit job. But then, guess most all on there are like that.
Those Moms probably thought that they were dealing with the ‘old 60 Minutes’ not the new Woke one.
oops, meant to post the link.

Really into this new metal core band out of Germany. Kids are young but have a big sound for a 3 piece. All their releases so far are on my gym play list. Get pumped!
The Liberal talking heads from CNN and MSNBC after today’s 9 to 0 ruling. They had previously said the only way Trump gets on the Colorado ballot was a by 5-4 vote along ideological lines.
That is because those ‘talking heads’ are empty due to TDS.
Is that akin to KDS? Grin.
Almost as bad but similar.
This just means they will be full on board with states not certifying the election.
Or assassination.
I leave for an hour and the blog descends into madness.
Are you surprised?
That is what happens when there is no adult supervision.

I’ve seen Robin Hood do that all the time.
That Arrow is being violated.
You can’t post that here this is a family Blog after all.
*well except when we discussing Racoons*
Does he get credit for hitting a bullseye even though it didn’t?
based on the trick i do with a pencil making it look rubber…
my kids would think this arrow is also rubber
Goooooose Morning!
Ever feel like you’re being watched?
Merry Monday everyone!
Skol!
No work today?
Moved my MIL into her new apartment this morning.
Did Goose get his morning run in?
Yup. 6 am. Then he scared the bejeezus out of the poor girl at the coffee drive-thru when he howled at her.
Did. you get him a ‘pupachino’
Hey, I was back on the weekend thread late last night. I appreciated the TL;DR MT style post, read every word of it.
Can’t remember if you are a cribbage player. 11 year old Granddaughter came over Saturday and Sunday to
solidify her inheritancevisit with her dear old granddad and we played five rounds. Skunked me first game, beat me by 10 points or more the next three, then the last game I thought I had it in the bag but didn’t verbalize it, last hand my crib, she is 27 points shy of the 121 and I am 8 points out. I deal myself A-2-4-5-5-6, toss the A-2 in the crib. A 3 is cut and she gets that telltale grin that she has a nice hand. We end up having very similar hands cards wise which means we get a couple of runs. I end up one point shy of winning and she is 21 points back. Her hand 3-3-4-5. Aaugh! She had a good laugh. She is a pretty sharp pre-teen.
Wonder where she got that??
Cribbage is the one card game I’ve not played much of. Dad is a huge fan – he and his girlfriend play several times a week. I haven’t attempted to play since I was a teenager. Almost 30 years ago.
It’s fun when you can see the young learn a game and how they learn to accept defeat and then the joy when victory comes. Had this experience recently playing Madden with my nephew – he finally beat me (and ran around the house like he won the lottery) I couldn’t help but laugh as popped the griddy and flexed his little toothpick arms.
did you see my contributions to getting the thread to over 420 on friday?
I did. And I laughed my ass off scrolling the thread and reading. Then I missed the 420 comment altogether. But I did read it – so your efforts weren’t in vain.
Ill take laughably biased and delusional weekend posts for $500 Alex!
Happy Monday everyone!
-FromThePorch
The biggest issue is that Cousins wouldn’t agree to it.
The guy who claimed he wanted to retire a Viking with only a fully guaranteed contract, will all of a sudden accept a non fully guaranteed contract with the Falcons?
Yup, only Two Years Guaranteed?
Get out of here with that nonsense!!
LOL.
That has been his MO.
But he may have to give in some. I’m still not convinced any team gives him $40 million+ per year fully guaranteed.
I believe you will soon find out I have been right about the Cousins contract situation since before last season began.
You think Cousins will take a 3 year non guaranteed contract from Atlanta?
When he realizes they’re the only team willing to do business at all he’s gonna have to.
That’s been my point.
Some team might cave though.
Somebody probably will and it will likely be Atlanta. I gave Kirk more credit than he obviously deserved when he said he didn’t care about the money, but after KOC’s comments this weekend, Kirk has no intention of staying. He cares about getting the biggest bag. Fine, good for him, but don’t walk around pretending to be holier than thou and claiming money doesn’t matter while looking for the dough. Best of luck trying to win the crummy NFC South so you can get spanked in the playoffs again.
I;m a believer a man should stand by his word – but sometimes events can be challenging and require rethinking.
suppose Atlanta offers Cousins two years guaranteed at 45, and the Vikings offer two years not guaranteed at 35. Guess Cousins would be an ass for even considering the Atlanta offer.
Well Atlanta isn’t supposed to offer him anything at this point but the Vikings can. There should not be competing offers unless Kirk and his team are illegally talking to Atlanta already.
Except the Vikings haven’t really offered anything, while rejecting Cousins’ offer last year.
But you said Cousins was surprised that Kwesi didn’t accept his take it or leave it offer?
So the Vikings did offer Cousins a contract.
No they just rejected his offer…
So the Vikings have not offered ANYTHING to Cousins?
Obviously not or King Kohls would have accepted their offer so he could retire a Viking like he claims he wants to.
Your sardonic comments aside Bow, if there had been any offer made, we would know it. KAM only said he had talked to Cousins, and it was a “great call”.
Should he tske a shit offer?
Would you?
False equivalency. I have not made enough money to ensure my grandkids will not have to work.
That’s not really a false equivalency.
Signing a shit deal, is signing a shit deal
Really – false? I wworked for a company I loved, and had a deputy (I mentored him). We both loved our company and both planned to reiire. from it. Bu at the 25 year mark he got a sensational offeer from another company. I, as his boss and men tor, advised him to take the offer and we both loved our company.
Reasonable and rational, does not work here JR. Emotion fueled negative narratives rule the day.
It’s just the He-man Cousins haters club going off today, as usual JR.
They are compelled to attack me personally because I’m right. It’s a blog though… folks are going to be unreasonable.
Any animosity I have towards Kirk is from you at this point and I’m just ready to see them move on and try to be better. Kirk is good. He’s just not good enough.
You have animosity towards Cousins because of me? Wow.
I actually have zero animosity towards him but your constant love affair with him is nauseating.
I only speak the truth…
That’s what Joe thinks too.
That is a very low blow Bow…not to mention ridiculous in the extreme.
I think you are confusing “truth” for your own opinionated verbal Felicio of number 8
stay on the porch son. Personal attacks on me are just a waste of your time, and everyone else’s.
I just consider the source.
Its not an attack its an observation, if you would quit doing it, I wouldn’t point it out. You were hiding your prime crazy posts on the weekend form that most folks dont see because they have a life and dont spend their time posting to themselves about PGA updates.
We’ll find out soon enough if Kirk will be a Viking for the foreseeable future. Don’t see much of a chance for that, unfortunately.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate. The Vikings are making business decisions though. It’s not personal.
unfortunatelyThankfully*Reading all the “material” you and DE seem to offer up for consumption, doesn’t seem like there would be much of ‘debate’ without NLV’s comments.
I wouldn’t give a crap either way and only respond to his lunacy.
As do I. Seems like there’s a fair amount of lunacy around.
Nothing to date. They have said they want him back, but the team needs flexibility. That’s about it.
Well, you better call the Star & Tribune.
Again, they didn’t make an offer, they rejected his, and explained why.
It was a hypo question, But that aside, how could he care about ‘ just the money’ if there’s no ‘money’ offer out there?
I would beg him to take the Atlanta offer
Yep
I took a lot of hate from some for pointing this out last offseason.
You misstate reality here Bow… it’s not so much about the money but the guarantees that would ensure Cousins could retire a Viking. The Vikings would not commit to that.
If this is truly the case, and if I were Kwesi, I would offer a 2 year $30 million contract fully guaranteed. Put it out that this is what the contract was and if Cousins doesn’t sign it, everyone knows it is about the money.
I think you’re taking significant license here…
Not just that – must be the weather today – in the HR world believe they call it the ‘cone of reasonability’. This number is too low.
Now, if it were two years in the 38-40 range, then it might have legs.
Well again, it’s not reasonable, or rational, it’s just contrarian.
OK, so offer him $40 mil 2 years fully guaranteed, $10 mil this year and $30 mil next year. Sign him after the end of the league year, so his cap hit will be roughly $30 mil per year.
The Vikings aren’t going to offer him anything. They already passed on a below market offer. On the 11th of March, another team will make Cousins an offer, and the Vikings won’t attempt to keep him.
Bow, I don’t know what the “numbers” will be, but they will be decent, and Cousins will get the guarantees and no trade clause the Vikings refuse to commit to. That’s really the point here, and I’ve said this since June of last year.
Good for him then, but that just proves it is all about the money and not winning. Atlanta isn’t winning anything any time soon, no matter who the QB is.
No, it proves that the Vikings were not committed to retaining Cousins so he could retire a Viking.
As Cousins said plainly, it’s about the structure. And the Vikings were never going to commit to Cousins. The end.
Cousins said it was about the structure but is chasing the dollars. Don’t piss on my back and tell me it’s raining.
It’s about structure.
And that structure is about fully guaranteed dollars. Which puts the most money in his bank account.
Ummm and gurantees Cousins can retire a Viking… why do you ignore reality?
To retire with the most money possible.
Yep. It’s about the money.
You are just being narrow minded, and that’s it.
You are clearly in denial here Bow… sorry. You deny the whole issue is about being able to remain a Viking.
I can’t tell if people are just trying to be funny or just saying stuff . Can you imagine, in our society, someone works for money and job security.
Conservatism is lost.
I think most of the commentary is just people being contrarian, and excessively unreasonable at times.
Nice of you to admit it.
Laughing… I wasn’t referring to me Bow…
Wouldn’t think 3 years is required at all at this point – it’s. not last year and times change,
Didn’t Cousins say just last week. that he wanted to play two more years – his goal – and then depending on how he feels, year by year after that.
JR, I think that’s splitting hairs at this point. Regardless of the final numbers, I have made my case since June last year that KAM was not going to re-sign Cousins. Everyone is about to find out I knew whereof I spoke.
You might be right on the contract, but you’ve always been wrong about the player and what he is capable of doing at the NFL level for the money he wants. Everything you typed after the monetary values in that paragraph is eye rolling personal drooling over a player and its really cringy.
Stay on the porch son.
Still mildly racist.
Not at all…
Posted this on the weekend thread before this one was up…
7 days until legal tampering, 8 days till Cousins is either signed, or the Vikings eat $28.5M in cap. I think it’s the latter.
Vikings still have around 25 free agents to either sign or release in the next 8 days as well. Decisions, decisions. Think KAM waits for the free agent dust to settle (see who signs elsewhere) then starts negotiating contracts with the remnants.
Then we can see who/what the priorities are in the draft.
After QBofTF of course.
No they don’t.
They have 54 players under contract for 2024.
3 of which are likely gone. (Cousins, Hunter and the Couch)
So that leaves 51 players under contract for 2024.
While they can elect to keep other free agents, they are not in any pressing mode to sign anybody.
Don’t forget Harry, he still has a significant salary cap hit.
Not crazy KC lvl hit but not pocket change either.
I’m not saying there won’t be any moves.
There will be.
But Harry is under contract.
Smith will not be on the roster come April. Unless he decides to restructure to vet minimum. That or he retires.
Mattison is gone.
There will be moves.
Every team has them.
DE, why you are compelled to challenge me on facts I do not know. The fact is the Vikings have around 25 players “under contract” who will be free agents on 13 March.
Your facts are wrong.
Got to over the cap and look at the number of players with a base salary in 2024.
There are currently 54 players on the active roster.
3 have no base salary for 2024 because they will be gone.
51 players have a base salary for 2024.
there will be moves, but they don’t need to sign 25 players.
I think, you are mixing things up… again. The Vikings have around 25 players (maybe 24 now) who will be free agents as of 13 March.
Nope.
All players listed currently on the 54 active roster.
3 are the only FA.
51 will be on the active Roster before any cuts are made by Kwesi.
Kirk Cousins – FA

Justins Jeffferson

You can post whatever you want DE. You’re wrong. On 13 March the Vikings have around 25 players who will be free agents.
So are you denying that there are 54 people on the active roster?
Please list all of the “Free agents”
If I’m wrong I will admit it.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/minnesota-vikings/
They have Mattison listed as an UFA.
he is not a UFA.
Kwesi just said he was going to be cut last week.
The point is, is that the Vikings don’t have to sign 25 free agents to replace expiring contracts.
Wow… there are 27 names on the list, I said the number is around 25. Stop being a pillock with me.
Why are you being so dense and ignoring the active roster?
You do realize the vikings don’t need to replace 27 players right?
Well if you ignore the draft and UDFAs and the fact that the season roster is only 54 and ignore that some of the players that will be free agents were on IR so they didn’t count towards the roster then they need to replace them all, duh. Is Anthony Barr or Greg Joseph really a loss?
The Vikings have around 25 free agents coming up in 2024 they need to make decisions on.
No they don’t.
they have an active roster of 51 and do NOT need to worry about replacing those 25 free agents.
They will make moves, but they are under no pressure to do so.
Yes, they do… most of the 25 were starters last year.
If they have 51 currently on the active roster, they can only sign 2 to the active roster.
Not counting any draft picks yet.
Laughing…
Math and facts are pretty funny.
Well figures don’t lie, but liars can figure…
This guy is out of his mind, imagine having to live with him for any extender period of time.
Doctor appointments for wife all day.
Lovesickness is a terrible thing to suffer from. I am doing my best to be unattractive, but it is not easy…
Doctor is prescribing me to stop brushing my teeth and showering. Also, eat more donuts, like A LOT more donuts…
Sounds like a very wise doctor.
Do what you have to do Wrenage, I am pleased you are doing what you can to help your wife.
Five and Lifer at the balloon factory picnic.
Its not as fun when they arent here to see it and respond.
I am trying to lure them out of retirement. (I know Five was banned)
Is lifer even…Alive? He raged in the fantasy group chat and then just bailed everywhere at once lol. I bet his wife was sick of him stressing over us fools and she made him quit, it was a good move for him honestly. I bet he will be back by August.
I’ve heard one of the Admins reached out to him via email and he said he may be back. I would assume he is lurking occasionally, so every once in a while I throw something like this out.
Supreme Court slaps down insurrection claims.
9-0
I don’t think Brandon and Jill will be applauding the decision.
that has to be a biden body double, no way in heck he could stand up AND clap at the same time
CGI. He’s not sniffing anybody so it can’t be real.
It is an older clip? Or maybe Jill just told him he could have Ice Cream after his diaper change?
That’s from an Obama speech.
MaBelle Obama is also in it.
At least one portion of the Government doesn’t work for Brandon.
I wouldn’t latch my wagon counting on Justice Roberts come crunch time.
He’s a politician.
Not gonna matter. The dems will do whatever they want anyway. Look at Brandon’s student debt email the other day. “The Supreme Court said I couldn’t, but I’m doing it anyway.”
But he’s ‘saving democracy’ from the tyrant Trump.
Yes, the old save democracy by ignoring the constitution.
I don’t disagree.
Dem members of congress have already said they will not certify Trump if he were to win.
Trump will not be allowed to be President, one way or the other.
Can’t be – that would mean dems would be ‘election deniers’ .
Dems have been denying elections since Reagan.
They are way past being embarrassed for denying elections.
I’m a little shocked someone like sotomoyer or the one that can’t define woman didn’t dissent
Same.
I figured Sotomayer and Jackson would dissent.
They couldn’t really though. Colorado overstepped its bounds legally. While the liberals on the Supreme Court wish they could suppress Trump, they must still uphold the law.
The law has never stopped the left or the CO SC wouldn’t have upheld the action in the first place.
Well, liberals are gonna liberal, and legislating from the bench is in their blood. Colorado and other States trying to do their level best to discredit Trump in any way they can isn’t new.
Or keep up the appearance of upholding the law. The left doesn’t care much about the law.
Indeed. What can be worse for a country that lives by the rule of law than to have some judges that do not follow or honor the law or the Constitution, but instead make law from the bench or twist laws to suit their personal or political preferences?
That is what liberal judges do, and this behavior has reached crisis proportions.
Yes, a 9-0 ruling is pretty much a bitch slapping of the Colorado Supreme court, and deservedly so.
They need to federalize the federal election process. The time and money spent adjudicating these state by state claims pisses me off.
As far as the Trump Issue goes it seems like only congress can enforce those issues not the states per the ruling.
“distinctive way Section 3 works and the fact that Section 5 vests in Congress the power to enforce it.”
So that should settle all of the States attempts at keeping him off the ballot.
Not that I know what I am talking about but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
So did Illinois put him back on the ballet yet?
I believe the actions were ‘stayed’ awaiting the SC decision.
Federalize the election process – do you want the Federal DOJ deciding how to run elections?
Not that it is perfect but Elections Canada is a darn sight better than our abortion of a 50 state process.
Per wiki:
Elections Canada is responsible for:[7][2]
Agency overview
Formed July 1, 1920[1]
CanadaHeadquarters30 Victoria Street
Employees 500 (Permanent) up to 235,000 (election period)[2]
Annual budget $628,864,260 (2021–22)[3]
Yep.
That helps the Ultra Lib government that they have stay in power.
BOOM!
Nah, it’s been funded by parliament, not the legislature, since 1920. Plenty of Conservative governments since then. I think this BS of no ID required, no central polling stations, etc as determined by individual states…is just another form of gerrymandering.
I’ve voted in both countries…the process seems much more solid in Canada and you have the added benefit of at least some limitations on lobbying.
I guess if you think the current state by state system in immune to politics you should support the system.
It is easier for the current gov to control a single entity.
No doubt past govs came and went but the current one is in power and using the system to maximize their control and stay in power.
Much like Brandon is weaponizing the current system in ways never see, or even thought of, before.
saw Dune part 2 this weekend.
it was pretty epic, and highly recommend seeing it (watch dune part 1 if you havent already)
What is Dune?
Ignorant young person……I have not the time nor the desire to educate you on things you should already know…
an epic book and movie if you are into scifi
Read the book, don’t need to see the movie….
But I probably will.
i read the book as well, the movie does a fantastic job of staying pretty true to is, as well as one can…
Going this weekend. Re-watched part 1 over the weekend. IMAX for me and they have a full bar. Have not seen a movie in the theater since Top Gun Maverick.
Book is amazing. Sequel is pretty good. Anything after book 2 is not worth imo,
yessss good! enjoy
and i’m 100% in the same camp as you, after book 2, they drop off SIGNIFICANTLY
Didn’t like how he developed the Paul storyline in the end, and book 3 goes down from the first 2 for sure. That said, I really enjoyed book 4. It was a very interesting and unique premise.
who is “he” are you talking the book or dune part 2 (movie)
Book, sorry. Herbert
Agree with you both here, read all of them.
Excited about part 2, first one wasn’t too bad, though no movie can do the book justice IMHO.
Thanks, I will do that.
‘watch dune part 1′
Does reading the books count?
if you read the books and have not seen the movie…
i’d say there is something wrong with you
I saw the 1984 version of the movie.
I have not yet recovered.
hahaha watch the new version!!!
Was/am waiting on The Teacher.
She has it on her book shelf based on my recommendation so I was going to watch it with her once she read it.
I have a nephew that loves Dune and highly recommended I watch the movie. I still haven’t done so. I read the book, but it has been decades ago when I did so. I enjoyed the book but wasn’t blown away by it.
Any Navigator sightings? I always wanted to be a Navigator, living in a big artificial womb, folding space time and in my spare time commenting on Vikings blogs.
‘Tis the season…..
At this cost I would think the Vikings would agree
https://x.com/spotrac/status/1764654447446069589?s=20
Mike Evans just got a 2 year $52 million contract with $35 million fully guaranteed.
JJ has been hanging with Kirko too much and wants it all fully guaranteed.
Nobody knows what JJ wants, surely he wants as much guaranteed money as possible, but everything out there right now is just rumors.
JJ said he wants to break the bank for wide receivers.
Tyreek Hill signed 4 years @ $120 million. Only $52million was fully guaranteed.
So the starting point appears to be $30 million per year so the 4 year $128 million is in line.
I bet JJ wants most of it guaranteed.
I would like all of my salary guaranteed also. Of course in my case, it is not going to happen.
Correct.
We work for peanuts.
And like it.
Well played.
Good salt miners are hard to find…Go in and renegotiate.
Good point.
Amen.
Noooooooo
I learned something new today. Michelle Phillips (the skinny female lead) went into acting after the Mama’s and the Papa’s broke up. As I looked at her IMDB listing of credits, I realized why I did not know she was an actress. I had not even heard of the majority of the movies/shows that she was in.
That’s cause you don’t watch THOSE kind of movies, VP….
Also a good point. You are on a role today.
or a ‘roll’.
The actual reason is that she started acting in the early 70s when I was just a kid. I am not very familiar with 70s cinema or tv as we did not have a tv in our house growing up and we never went to the movies. On occasion I went to a buddy’s house to watch tv, but that was mostly re-runs of Gilligan’s Island, Leave it to Beaver or something like that. And that didn’t happen often because his mom would usually tell us to go play outside.
We are kindred spirits. I had no TV exposure through the 70’s, so a lot of sitcoms gen xers talk about from that era are unfamiliar to me.
And I believe Mackenzie Phillips is also related.
She was in One Day At a Time.
Also major family problems.

Michelle was married to John Phillips so I believe she was Mackenzie’s step-mom. I believe they were only married while the Mama’s and the Papa’s were together, which was only a few years.
That lead singer for the Bangles = Hot!
She has that hot, crazy look….do the deed and kick her out cause she might knife you in your sleep.
Heh heh that 80’s hair, looks like she stuck her finger in a light socket. I think about going in for a neck smooch and coming away with the taste of hair spray and strands of hair in my mouth. Ack!
What if she was preggers?
Would she still be ‘yuck’ then??
Pregnancy automatically adds 3 points to the 1-10 scale.
I just speak from experience with “necking” with ladies in the 80’s that had hair like that.
‘Pregnancy automatically adds 3 points to the 1-10 scale.’
Interesting.
So she can go to from an ‘Average-ish 6′ to a ‘Crazy hot 9’?

It’s scientifically proven.
‘It’s scientifically proven.’
That end the discussion, have to follow the science.
*Political Science is still science*
Heard a horrible rumor that to get JJ the Vikes will have to move up to 5.
According to the draft value chart (could be BS), the Vikes could get that done by trading this years 1st and 2nd round pick.
Would that be worth it? Or should we just sign KC for three years at 120?
Yes it would be worth it, and a much, much better option than that alternative
might as well. we aren’t competing this year if we do that, so retool and use next years draft to BUILD BUILD BUILD
LOL.
We haven’t been competing for 4 of the last 6 years.
I’m not sure one and done is “competing”
agreed, but this would be finally admitting we are rebuilding and REBUILD
True
So basically swap firsts this year and give up our 2nd?
I’d do it.
I would never sign Kirko at those prices.
I heard JJ threw the 2nd fasted/hardest pass at the combine at 61 MPH…if that is true, that would be the 2nd highest velocity in the last 15 years, behind Allen’s 62 mph.
For comparison purposes, Cousins was 59 mph, Dobbs and Brock Purdy were 51 mph.
Not saying you need to have a cannon to be successful, BUT in the Vikings offense, I kind of think you do.
I want JJ.
Jeff George threw the ball so hard it went backward in time.
He did throw 61, 2nd highest at the combine. His hand size is slightly below average though at 9″
There ain’t a snowball’s chance in hell the Vikings are taking a QB in the first round.
Lots of good players will be available at 11, even more if we trade back with some (even more) QB needy team.
Who could possibly be a more QB needy teem than us if we don’t sign Kirk?
We have Mullins and Hall so we can ‘make do’ if we needed to.
We will know more about our QB situation by the time we get to the draft.
