By who? The end goal is always the SB, being competitive should always be seen as having a chance at a SB. You have a chance if you are consistently getting to conference championships. Thats competitive. Winning a division should not be enough, because divisions strength vary greatly, conference not so much. Get to the NFCCG, then the year can be seen as competitive and a general positive. You had a chance.

In support of my philosophy of “the enemy of good is better” which I oft mumble to myself when positioning a needle for biopsy, the GC discovered yesterday that after he has done multiple revisions of a pebble floor solidified with epoxy in our new master shower, some epoxy got into the shower drain and has nearly occluded it.
Now if I had done that I would be stuck trying to figure out a fix and stressing about it, but in this case my conscience is clear!
So the GC is going to clean out the drain?

I was painting the Ground Round in Mankato, several years ago. The contractor they hired to do the poured epoxy on the bar top, poured the remaining epoxy into the floor drain. they had to cut a big section of the floor up to replace the pipe. This happened like 2 weeks before it was supposed to open.
They brought the guy in from Oklahoma or something like that.

I would trade to 5 and take all doubt out. Arizona will take Harrison if he’s there. NE could go either way. At 5 you are guaranteed one of Maye, Daniels, or JJ unless somebody else trades with Arizona. I don’t see AZ trading out of that spot if Harrison is available.

I think Addison is to young, has shown too much promise and you need to keep him if nothing else as insurance should JJ go the way of a lot of receivers and you end up moving on from him in a year or two. You don’t give up talent on the second year of their rookie deal.
Way easier to find a good WR than a franchise QB
But the Vikings shown the ability to draft great QBs on not very good WRs, I mean Treadwell and Troy were awful, even more awful than Ponder and Jackson so by this cherry picking of data you are wrong… lol
I don’t think they have to go all the way to #3 to get Maye or JJ. They will likely be able to sit tight and take one. Worst case, maybe 8 or so. There’s too many other good players and if the last couple of drafts are any indication, the QBs will fall. Nix probably won’t go until round 3 or 4. Don’t give up a known commodity over an unknown. If they think the only way to get their guy is to get to 3, then go for it but give up next year’s 1, not a proven talent on a rookie deal.
I think this as well – unless the FO LOVES one of the top 3 and sells the farm to move up (not worth it) I think they can stay at 11 and give up less to move to 6-9 to snag JJ. I’m concerned with Denver being right behind us. They’re obviously in the QB market and I fear the ScabQB will jump ahead of us to grab JJ.

I would do our #11 and Addison just for NEs #3 pick, which I think is more plausible.
To move from #11 to number #3 would likely take a future #1 and more, so if we could get it done for just Addison I would be all in.
So you’d rather give up a proven talent than next year’s pick that on average is a 50/50 shot at being successful? Keep the cheap talent you have and trade the future pick you have no idea about. Let them screw it up. Don’t give them a sure thing.

Pretty solid. Lots of much needed help in the trenches. And in the long run, looking at drafting QB’s, Nix might well turn out as good if not better than of the others.
I don’t see it with Nix. If you can’t get JJ or Maye then just focus on the trenches and worry about the QB next year.
There is some logic in this point of view.
I just don’t think Penix or Nix are going to ever be top of the line starters so why waste a pick? I’m fine doing whatever it takes if there is somebody you think is “the guy”, but don’t draft somebody you think is mediocre just to hope they become a little better than mediocre. But Minnesota being Minnesota they will likely go the mediocre route again. Maybe in 5-10 years they will finally draft a good one.

Jordan Jefferson tested as one of, if not the strongest DT’s at the combine. Good project player if he develops.
I likely would’ve went RB at 86 – Braelon Allen is the kid I like most, but you can never have too much interior help.
I wanted to squeeze a RB in but they weren’t there and I don’t know enough and didn’t care enough to try and trade up for one.
RBs are available in FA. So many that the price should be reasonable. Not sure they are worth a decent Draft Pick, late round flyer? Maybe.
That’s why I didn’t worry too much about it unless one fell to me that I knew and liked.

Fun Fact: When I was in college my roommate and I had a banana costume and a gorilla costume. Hey freezey, it’s my turn. On Thursday evening I will be taking my wife and granddaughter to the MPLS airport and then I will have 9 days of spring break bachelorhood. When I make food, I will be able to add onions without listening to someone complain. Instead of sitting at the kitchen table, I can sit in my recliner and watch tv while I eat. I won’t have to have 10 boxes of facial tissue spread throughout the house and then still clean buggers off from my chair. I can read Jack Finney instead of Doctor Seuss. I won’t have to turn my fan on high in the bedroom early in the morning to block out I-don’t-want-to-get-up screams or banging pots and pans. I will probably end up missing them a little.
