Thread Guidelines

  • Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
  • Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
  • Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
  • All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.

Are the T’wolves better off taking 3rd rather than 2nd? If they take the second spot they will sit for 1 1/2 weeks while their opponent is playing and staying hot. If they take 3rd then the team they play will be sitting the same amount of time.

This stupid play in tournament makes 1st and 2nd place a tougher spot than 3rd in my opinion.

The 9 year old girl with the short sleeve purple shirt and skirt is my eldest grand (NOT the girl with the bunny ears), Emma, with her presentation of her gifted & talented passion project. Can’t see her project in pic, hopefully her Mom took a pic, and those are not her parents talking to her. All the parents stopped at each project.

Speaking of wayyyy better than it used to be, Oil spanked the Knights 5-1 with McJeesus taking the game off for a lower body injury. If they manage to win out (including beating the Canucks in a couple of days on Hockey Night in Canada) they’ll take the Pacific division crown. They’re playing strong defense, the key to post season progress in the modern NHL.

since the discussions so far have revolved alot around golf…

my absolute favorite golf “viewing” memory is the 1997 masters when Tiger won.

I remember is very specifically and vividly. we were in my grandma’s den, and my grandma was LOVING watching him play. it was me, my dad and my grandma. She loved watching golf and figure skating, so my dad would take us kids over to watch those types of events with her. and in 1997 it happened to be watching tiger blow it up.

i miss her and i’m thankful my dad loved spending time with his mom and wanting us to spend time with her too

This is even a tad before my time but is still pretty exciting and one of the unique things golf has to offer – the 1960 Open.
At that time, you had Palmer the reigning King, Ncklaus is 18 year old Kid future King, and Ben Hogan the aging former King, And all three had a chance to win on the back nine the last day.
Kind of neat to see three generations of greatest golfers ever competing for a title.

For a late Rd Flyer. I prefer a high speed/RAS WR like Means. Pittsburg, Height: 6 – 1, Weight: 212 lbs, RAS: 9.35 plus 4.43 40 time.

There are others ranked similarly like Gould Oregon St who are actually faster 4.39 but smaller 5-8, 174.

Those guys can take the top off the defense and help out JJ/JA which I think is worthy of pick #230 or #232.

40 times are not listed on Pro Football Mock Draft but can be found here.

Good Drafting,

I also often trade back, get more picks, a Defensive Stud, Penix/Nix, and then pick up as many Trench/Defensive types as I can if the top 4 QBs are all off the board at #11.

I suspect it is just as valid a plan as sending 3 #1s for a QB.

Bo Nix added to Minnesota Vikings list of 3-Day QB workouts
You’ve heard all the reports about their various visits or attempted meetings with prospects such as Jayden DanielsDrake MayeJ.J. McCarthy, and Michael Penix Jr. Now, according to Breer, we can add Bo Nix to that list.
Oh, and there have been questions about how long the Minnesota Vikings have spent with these quarterbacks, during these private workouts. Breer answered that too. Three days, which is a lot of time to get to know someone.
“Rather than go to the cattle calls that pro days often become, Minnesota dispatched quarterbacks coaches Josh McCown and Grant Udinski to [pro days], and then rolled out a larger group for a three-day whirlwind tour to work out quarterbacks privately. The itinerary included stops in Chapel Hill to meet Drake Maye, Ann Arbor to get with J.J. McCarthy, Seattle to put Penix through the paces and Eugene to see Bo Nix.”

Really? I know he could be a liability and make choices chasing sacks but I never thought we lost games because of it. I think he like any other player made some mistakes and he made selfish mistakes playing for the sack than the run. I guess the point being I just don’t feel hunter was a big splash player to get those numbers. Almost feels Kirk-ish doesn’t it? Great stats and all that and we all know he’s excellent at his job but just don’t remember him as a game changer worth that much scratch.

The only game I remember him changing the game was the Detroit game where he had something like 50 sacks (hyperbole). Other than that one he had a few where he and Griffin got to the QB a lot. I also remember a few games where he got beat by the run looking for sacks, early on in his career.

True, that was a great move on Zim’s part.

Yep.
Hunter would sign a contract and then a year later complain about the contract.

Hunter is better than the guy we signed.
But Hunter is disgruntled a lot.

I would have been fine moving on from Hunter seasons ago. He is a physical beast, but he is always unhappy with his contracts and goes invisible as the season goes along.

Yesterday I got a new chair for my home office. I’m seeing my computer differently. Probably because there is actual cushioning on the seat of the chair. The last one’s cushion was suffering from a decade of my tush crushing the life out of it. RIP office chair.

A new office chair is a big moment.

I wheel mine out to the air compressor every month or so and blow out all of the dust and butt essence from it. All my coworkers look at me funny, and all I can think is…I have a clean chair. You all are wallowing in dust butt essence every day of your lives…

Nice turn of phrase. Dust butt essence. It makes you feel like buying a used chair is like buying used underwear.

Butt dust is a symptom of TP. I rejoice in my non TP super toilet. Long live the sweet warm water caress of my nether regions.

Fred Couples splashed his tee shot into Ike’s Pond at No. 8 yesterday, and Rickie Fowler’s 2-year-old daughter, Maya, celebrated by screaming, “Yay!”

Rickie Fowler won the par 3 contest yesterday at the Masters. Everyone knows no one has ever won the par three contest then gone on to win the Masters in the same year. Rickie says the jinx is made to be broken.

Hopefully he contends.

He won’t.
Never does. Always fails in the majors.

He hasn’t played well this year, but last year he was rounding into form and got his first win in a long time. Was hoping that would continue this year, but he gets going, then completely falls apart.

Just not sure he has the game for major championship golf, even playing his best.

Well to date he hasn’t. He has a lot of game though. Just always has a few holes where he loses it.

Reminds me more of Greg Norman.
Always got the media hype, but never won a major in the U.S.

Today’s PGA is much harder than 20 years ago.
Fowler is running out of time.
He is 36 I believe. Very uncommon for someone in their 40’s to win a major.

Norman won The Open twice.
He and Garcia won their majors in their mid 30’s. Norman was 31 & 38
Garcia was 37

So yeah, Fowler could win one. But his time is running out.

Norman was player of the year for several years just had some pretty bad luck in majors – and some people hit some sensational shots to beat him. Was a great, great driver of the ball.
and Norman was number 1 in the world for several years. Rickie just isn’t in that class. He’s a good tour player and very likable though.

Norman had terrible luck. He was my mom’s favorite player, so I followed him pretty closely for a number years.

There was even one instance where a course was offering a free car for a hole-in-one. Norman hit a hole in one and then found out another guy hit one just before him. Guy was jinxed in some ways.

Sergio as a teenager almost beat Tiger at Medinah. He has always been known as a great ball striker, In fact one of the best iron players. Just don’t see Rickie in that class. Both are kind of average putters and that becomes an issue in majors.
