- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Twinkies win 7-0.
Seems odd.
Yeah, 200 comments.
LOL. Looks like about 20 people at Twins game. Wonder why?
People are embarrassed by brilliance?
White Sox. Combined 10-31. Tough clubs.
Scrappy, lunch pail types no doubt.
Some kind of dog night. Think more dogs than people.
Three Dog Night?

Good spot for him IMO.
PukeFace can probably make him better.
Yeah, I would not have minded if the Vikings had traded for him as a developmental guy, especially if its just swapping 6th/7th picks.
In terms of cost, I would have preferred Wilson over Darnold.
I think Darnold is slightly better than Wilson though.
Yeah, trading back like 40 spots in round 7 and a salary of less than 4 mil, I’d probably be ok with Wilson over Darnold as well.
Why not both?
I was thinking having a former #2 and #3 competing for our QB job for small money combined would not be terri-bad for a year.
Who knows, only need one to live up to the hype.
If I were wilson I’d try to wear #3 so all the fans that bought russell wilson jerseys could still wear them and then pretend its for zach
I like it!
May take Denver out of the Draft a QB Sweepstakes this year.
Lots of holes to fill and strapped with that Wilson Cap Hit.
Trading back now might make as much sense as trading up for them.
Matt Ryan retires a Falcon.

Careful, Kwerk might feel threatened by another QB being in the room.
Just make sure the 1 day contract is on a Tuesday and he’ll never know.
Bahahha..you win today sir.
Perfect!
I have been thinking about orange Jell-O, with bananas and homemade whipped cream all day. I am going to make that tonight for dessert.
why would you ruin the jello with bananas? I do like jello though, I buy the generic sugar free, cut the amount of water in half so I can eat it with a hand. Now I’m thinking I’ll teach my 5 y/o how to make jigglers.
You pregnant?
Now I am worried. Men can get pregnant now, after all.
Crap.
I better pick up a pregnancy test at the supermarket, as well.
Correct.
In order to fully comply with the non discrimination polices of the Biden administration, you are required to send your pregnancy test to the CDC.
Good luck!
Someone mentioned Josh Freeman earlier…
Thank YOU!
Rumor out there that JJ’s deal is done.
But, was he there to see watch the T’wolves or the Suns? Maybe his deal is to be traded to Arizona.
Sound advice.
The anniversary odd Pat Tillman’s death makes me think about the differences between he and kaepernick, idk why. One voluntarily left a lucrative career to fight for his country, the other engaged in demonstrations of a sort in an attempt to bring light to a societal issue he believed in ands also did some inflammatory things that irritated his employers fan base and ultimately his career also ended early, but was because he wasn’t a starting caliber QB and as such, not worth the distraction he was. I wonder who will be remembered longer and more intensely? It reminds me of that quote from A Bronx Tale about fear lasting longer than love.
Kaep was trying to impress his GF who was an activist.
Guys will do anything to get a little…..He is forgiven.
You think a Pro Athlete would be picking and choosing not having to work for it.
I’ll definitely never forget Pat Tillman in my lifetime.
Also, great movie.
I won’t, I likely won’t ever forget Kaepernick either. Agreed, love Chazz Palminteri, he was great in that role
‘Now yous can’t leave…’
Lilo Brancata, the actor that played ‘C’, had a solid role on The Sopranos as Matt Bevilaqua – the guy Tony & Pussy murdered for trying to kill Chris.
Then he shot and killed an off-duty NYPD officer in a botched robbery and went to prison.
Yeah, I remember him in the sopranos, I think the first movie I saw him in after Bronx Tale was Crimson Tide, which always makes me laugh because my grandma, who had a very intense lisp, went to it and when I asked how it was she said “very suspenseful” and now anytime I think of that movie I think of Sylvester and my grandma, LOL. Also, RIP Grandma.
I also miss my grandmother. Even though she cheated at Battleship
LOL, my grandma and I always played upwords or scrabble, I don’t think she cheated, though grandpa would always take my points if I missed counting in cribbage
great way to teach the youngsters to pay attention.
Kaep kind of struck me as Mickey Mouse from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. I don’t know how serious he was initially, but once he started all of the broom’s up, it’s like he just rolled with it.
It will depend on who you ask.
Given today’s society it’s not even close.
Kapernick by a mile.
Yeah, that’s kinda my though, these days hate in en vogue
Expecting the punishment for the Falcons to be decided by Wednesday. Will see who was right and who was wrong and he’s man enough to admit it.
Was it the lead athletic trainer? Forgot already.
Along those lines. Either way the punishment wont impact this years draft. It will more than likely be futures. Hell, it might not even involve the Vikings, Atlanta just might lose picks.
Yep, there will be a punishment for sure, but it won’t affect this year’s draft and the Vikings may or may not benefit from it.
Per previous situations punishment by the league will not benefit the Vikings.
Agreement between clubs to ‘settle the dispute’ has equaled the exchange of draft choices. NFL just accepts the settlement.
Athletic Training and PR head were mentioned by KCs during his introductory press. No telling what the investigation found.
Prob a fine and a pick or two, my guess.
If they can agree to settle then Atlanta would lose less and Minn would actually get something.
So motivation on both sides to ‘get ur done’. If the investigation actual found enough to label it tampering.
if the league imposes punishment the Vikings won’t get anything
Unless they do something unprecedented?
The teams could agree to something if the league approves it
I got a feeling whatever the Vikings would like..Atlanta would shoot it down. But you never know
Yeah, it also depends on how punitive the league wants to be.
Maybe the league says they are going to take their #9 pick, and Atlanta comes back with, we’ll give up our #9 pick for Vikings #23 pick.
Ultimately its up to the league, if they want to make an example of ATL, they can just flat out take their picks away
Of course. Because Vikings.
I doubt the Vikings get anything.
It would be the Falcons getting a pick taken away.
Maybe not even in 2024.
Does a pick just being taken and not given back to the Vikings hurt the possible last draftee? Seems punitive possible to an innocent party.
Fair point.
Sounds like a Mike Florio rant if I ever heard of one.
His latest rant is complaining about draft prospects not being flown first class by NFL teams.
It’s that modern day slavery AP talked about right? lol.
Too Much?? Or if you really think Maye is the guy do you spend 4 first rounders on him?
Yikes that’s a lot.
F THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way too much.
No.
That’s not even close to realistic, there’s never been a trade up for a QB involving that much draft capital, even for the #1 overall, complete nonsense
Way too much. Don’t do it.
too much
That’s kind of the line for me. If you give this years and next years first round then that’s the cap for me, you give another year’s first round and the player isn’t an absolute home run then GTFO you are done. Unless we got some draft capital back in the trade too.
Agree, according to the draft chart I was looking at, in a deal like this the Vikings would be overpaying by the approximate value of this year’s second round draft pick (which we don’t have).
Even if we give both #1’s from this year and next year’s number one we would still be overpaying a bit…
In a negotiation you ask for more and settle for what you can get.
It is still way to rich for me.
Hopefully KAM thinks so as well.
Way too much.
I would rather just select Penix or Nix at #11.
Agreed.
Hoping Maye does #2 so we don’t have a chance to trade up for him.
Rumor is that they Daniels/Wash meetings have not gone well and they have both started looking at other options.
One can hope.
Yeah.
And NE doesn’t want Maye, apparently.
I’d rather roll the dice and wait and see who is available at #11.
I’d be willing to give up a mid rounder and both #1’s, but not much more than that.
So Maye to Wash and Daniels to NE leaves either a smaller trade up for JJ or wait for Nix/Penix to drop to 11.
FTFY
With Denver picking up Zack that is probably more possible than it was.
Hell no. This is way too much.
That’s the “I don’t really want to trade it, but if you’re dumb enough to offer that much, I’m smart enough to take it” price.
I think that is exactly what it is.
Think the Purple will win more games than Twins.
Sad but true. Little bummed they are out of it before May…AGAIN. Hopefully Wolves can go the distance and entertain us until June
So you think the Twins will only win 18 games this year?
Can’t watch them, all i know.
I struggle watching baseball in general, let alone the Twins.
They are boring as hell.
Golf and baseball are boring as hell!
Agree about Golf.
Loved playing BB well into my 30s but the crap they play today is painful to watch, well, was last time I tried to watch it.
I played basketball well into my forties and not as well after that…
Still play some, mostly with my boys
I played until I retired from the Army at 40, did not have much chance to after that.
Same with Racquetball, miss that sport.
Still like the Majors but this LIV shit has screwed golf up.
I’m not even sure what you’re talking about. Is that the competing league owned by rich foreign entities?
They have bought PGA players with lots of money. PGA is fighting back by not allowing to compete. The perceived role of Saudis offend lots of people.
In 911.
Might be due to the fact that 15/19 hijackers were Saudi.
Wrong, Bush 2.0 was the hijacker.
I dont make record predictions until post draft. That being said, gun to my head and looking at the schedule, id also say between 6-7 wins. One of those for sure being the Falcons.
NOYST
???
Made me laugh
Noyst
Im so confused
NOYST
WTF IS NOYST SHORT FOR?!
Name of your sex tape
Oh, okay lol
I’m sorry Kfey – I thought you knew that…..
reading that exchange will make me laugh all day
To be honest I should have known that from when it was being said a lot around on here, so that on me lol. Glad you I helped you laugh today
Hey thats my line
I don’t understand what’s happening around here. There are a lot of thumbs up and literally no thumbs down as of this posting. Everyone feeling OK?
So you are saying that we need more street cred?
I voted this a thumbs down and then voted it a thumbs up just so I could vote it a thumbs down again…
Can you do this?
I have mistakenly hit the wrong one awhile back and tried to unvote or revote and it wouldn’t let me fix or redo it.
Maybe it is just my browser.
Safari occasionally interacts with sites strangely.
Yep, I did it to your post.
I actually voted yours a thumbs down three times, and it felt GREAT!
Then I voted you back to a neutral state to demonstrate my benevolence…
No wonder my ‘street cred’ has been all over the place today.
Ha!
I just did the same thing to your comment lol
Out for some street cred today, eh? 😄
Starship Troopers auto rec
We win the division and all the Debbie Downers will call it a fluke!
And give credit to Jobu.
As we should,
all praise to Jobu.
So Kirk has lost Jobu’s protection right?
If he had any protection personally previously I expect he lost it with the injury last year.
He probably said Jobu couldn’t hit a curve ball is my guess lol.
Maybe stole his rum?
Probably, but what would Kirk do with rum? Guess he never had a Cuba Libre, or any other alcoholic beverage.
Use it to marinate his meat before grilling it?
Wrong. They will say something like….”if kirko were the QB we would have been way better….”
QotD: Really depends on what KOC can get out of Darnold. If he is able to turn him into the 3rd over all pick, we go 11-6. If it turns out Darnold is who we thought he was, we go 7-10.
I think our defense will be equal to better and our offense may take a step up, again depending on Darnold. If we can get a decent to good kicker we may win a couple of games on his leg.
Good analyst.
If Nix is the most pro ready of the draft QBs he might be able to start earlier to save us from ‘bad Darnold’ but I doubt it is wise to count on and rookie QB until at least late in the season.
QotD: My take on the team at the moment is I think the defense will be decent to good, the offense the same, and the kicking game a question mark.
The name of the game is to score more points than your opponents. I honestly think both the Packers and the Lions will do that to us this year. Bears could be better than last year on offense too. Thus, right now I think we finish 3rd in the Division, with an 8-9 record.
I hope for better than that but being a longtime Viking Fan I expect about that or probably worse.
I certainly hope for better. Just trying to be honest and realistic.
‘honest and realistic’
Wouldn’t expect anything less from you.
QotD.
All of them.
QOTD. To many unknowns. Have no clue.
Seems as though the league/teams change quite a bit year to year.
Best teams are usually good but the rest fluctuate between good/decent/bad.
‘Past performance is no guarantee of future results’.
0-17
Love the optimism
0-16-1?
QotD
10 wins. Team overall has improved since December.
Darnold is way better than Mullins/Dobbs/Hall, and the defense will be better.
2027 Champs!
SKOL!
Darnold and Mullens have basically been the same QB for their careers
Somewhat the same; Mullen’s brain says throw the ball here, but his arm cannot make the throw. Darnold’s brain says IDK, but his arm is able to pull off the play.
Most of Mullen’s turnovers are due to weak arm and no understanding of how weak his arm is.
Most of Darnold’s interceptions are due to him not knowing where to go with the ball or weeing something that’s not really there.
‘weeing something’ does not sound good.

Perfect gif response

Nice catch
But ultimately, end result is the same, an INT:TD ratio that is like 1.2:1
But, KOC may be able to fix Darnold’s issues, arm strength is arm strength.
This is also true. Darnold has arm talent. Had more than a few ‘wow’ throws with the Jets and Carolina – problem was they were often in garbage time or he’d immediately follow it up with a bad decision.
Someone queue the Josh Freeman GiPH
I remember the first time the Vikings played Freeman. He beat us fairly handily.
So I was kind of excited to see how he would do on the Vikings.
He beat us fairly handily again even on our team…
They are remarkably similar in passing stats.
FWIW Darnold has significantly more rushing yards and 13 career TD’s – Mullens has zero career rushing TD’s.
Darnold has also been sacked significantly more (obviously due to more overall career starts, 56-20)
Aside from the difference in mobility they’re pretty much the same guy statistically.
One other difference is accuracy, mullens is at like 66% completion percentage, darnold is like 60%, that is a pretty big difference
This is an excellent summary of the differences by JacksonVike….
You get an A!
Agreed.
‘Weeing’ jokes aside.
QOTD: 8-8-1
I reviewed Abigail and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare this weekend. I did a double feature Saturday. Went to one and right into the other while the wife shopped. I haven’t done a double-feature in the theater since 1999 with The World is Not Enough and Sleepy Hollow. It was kind of fun. Man, they had the volume turned up on those movies though. It was right on the cusp of pain.
Are either worth watching?
They are both moderately entertaining, but you will never rewatch either of them. Distractions but not classics.
Ok, so based on that I’ll go read the review and then based on the review I might go watch one
I don’t expect the Vikings to have a winning season, and I am fine with that. We must go through bitter waters to taste the sweet.
19-0.
That was the final score after 2x defending national champion and top ranked Nebraska went into Sun Devil Stadium on September 21, 1996.
The crowd was rabid and angry and you could feel the tension in the desert all the way from tiny Waco, Nebraska. ASU came to play. NU was unprepared and clearly had overlooked the Sun Devils.
The best player on the field that day was a long haired safety from ASU. Dude was everywhere. Breaking up passes, tackles for loss, stringing option runs to the boundary for no gain. All. Over. The. Field. That dude was Pat Tillman. And that night I became a fan.
I followed Pat to the NFL, hoping he’d end up in purple after his first stint in AZ. I’ll never forget the AZ/MIN preseason game on August 18, 2000 – Culpepper’s 1st year as a starter. Vikes lit up AZ in that game but once again Tillman was all over the field. One memorable play from that game: Tillman having a free run at Culpepper and getting stiff-armed to the ground while Daunte dumped the ball off to Moe Williams. Tillman got up and ran Williams down 15 yards down field. 1st down Vikings. What I remember most is Tillman furiously slapping his helmet in frustration for not bringing Culpepper down.
Then 9/11 happened and you all know the rest of the story.
Pat Tillman died 20 years ago today.
RIP
A great recap. Thank you!
RIP 77. I remember the first time I saw him at training camp. He was a mountain of a man.
Yup. Same. I was at the Vikes/Giants preseason game in 1999 when I first saw him in person. I’m a big guy and felt insignificant as he strolled by me. Huge.
Without knowing the official schedule, I’d guess 7 wins.
Superbowl bound baby!!! You play to win the games…otherwise what’s the point?
QotD: I expect they will have a poor season, as they rebuild the team. 6 – 7 wins.
Good morning, SKOL!
