Question of the Day – Does Justin Jefferson break 2000 yards receiving this season?
Twinkies split with the Chi Sox today. 3-2 and 1-3 for another 3-2 away series win.
Pablo pitched decent but didn’t get the win, Ober pitched decent and got the loss.
Such is baseball.
Off to the lake. Behave yourselves and go JJ!!!
Have a good time.
Vote two or three timed before you leave.
I was at trauma conference this morning. They were reviewing cases and I missed a doozy while I was off in late June. Someone pulled a Thelma and Louise way back at Artist’s Vista back side of Makoshika state park, late at night during a rainstorm (intentionally). Took fire and ambulance 4 hours to get them out of there.
Boy hauling a basket with 200 pounds of human in it up the Makoshika buttes and cliffs in a rainstorm with gumbo like walking on greased ball bearings would be a chore I would not enjoy.
My old FIL was an old country Dr (and ex Canadian) and was on the rotation for Coroner, lots of stories about the dinner table.
He pulled his 3 HS kids to the morgue when some students had a fatal crash so that they could ‘SEE’ the consequences of drinking and driving.
Good Man, I miss him. Too bad his daughter was/is not more like him.
EMS guys and gals earned there pay that night. Man. Last time I paddle fish on the Missouri I fished several hours in a light but steady rain. When returning to camp from the river, I started the 400 yd trip at 5′ 11″ by the time I got to camp I was 6′ 10″ from gumbo. Thighs burning from lifting 15-20 # with each step. I was on level ground and not carrying 200#.

Not quite Biden like but obviously getting there – what does this mean?
JJ going to win so many super bowls that even Brady looks small baby !!!
What are all the pictures of the other QB’s for?
Also, is this from Cam Newton?
Number of Super bowls won from all the top QB’s.
No clue who the Cam is.
OK thanks. Kind of strange or it stumped me as 8 of the guys have won zero.
Brady already said that JJ is the greatest QB to ever play at Michigan.
Today is my Friday! Heading back to the home town for an extended visit, do some fishing with the old man. Cousin from Texas is also up visiting. Currently in a network closet at the moment waiting for the state IT to fix their shit.
accurate
Come out of the closet.
After the catcher/pitcher thing I was going to say that but let it go.
Clearly you haven’t lol
AND I GOT THEM MIXED AROUND IN THAT ORIGINAL COMMENT LET IT GO! 😀
As one baseball player to another it’s OK.
Hahahahaha
That was low hanging fruit lol
More Jets on Rich Eisen:
The true leader of the team the past 3 seasons, and the future leader of the team. From JJ to JJ.
For the Montanna folks, I see Tester is behind in the polls by 5 points. Is he finally going to lose?
#nojinx
Let’s hope so!
Gonna be close. Tester has boat loads of money, running a bunch of attack ads. Just like bow often says, label him a rich out of stater and it seems to stick. The only issues that Tester has not voted with the D’s in his career is 2A stuff, in this state it would be political suicide. He voted with Obama/Biden > 95% of the time. Also some blatant lies in his ads.
Isn’t Montana a very red state and Trump carried by over 16 points. Would seem the Republicans can spend enough and put up enough of Tester’s voting record to win this.
And his opponent is a former Navy Seal – the real deal.
Plus FJBs numbers are only going to get worse which will hurt Tester every step of the way.
And the Senatorial Campaign Reelection Committee is chaired by the other Senator from Montana. He needs to spend whatever it takes.
It is red but many voters have no problem voting candidate over party lines. Also, the “rich out of stater” tag seems pretty effective. Not sure why people fault others for working hard, starting a successful business, and making money from the business. Envy I guess.
True. The out of stater label seemed to work against Dr Oz well in PA last time. Don’t know the Repub here but if he is a former Seal he’s no Dr Oz type. And for ‘red voters’ Tester’s voting record is about as blue as it gets.
It’s hard to explain the ingrained hatred Montanans have for out of staters and they lie that he is closing hunting access so the uninformed will hate him, which is most of the voting public. My favorite is their ad that says Sheehy is shady because he hired lobbyists while ignoring the fact that Tester takes more money from lobbyists for doing nothing than anybody in DC.
Well will just say. For all of us, even outside of Montana, The Republicans need to win this seat and the RNC should break the bank if they have to to win it. No matter what it costs.
Hell most people that have lived in a state very long don’t like out of staters. But sometimes there’s bigger issues at stake. For example, little old Montana could decide the fate of who controls the US Senate. Pretty damn big deal.
I don’t disagree but the RNC always takes it for granted and has put little to no effort into it so I would not be surprised at all to see Tester win again.
The Chairman of the Senatorial Reelection Committee ( and the money) is your other Senator from Montana. Maybe someone should light a fire under him.
In the past, you are correct.
Hopefully that changes with Lara Trump running the show. I feel better with a Trump involved in the whole thing.
Well if I’m on Pandora, YouTube, Rumble, Hulu, you name it, I see nonstop Shady Sheehy ads and nothing contradicting it so I don’t think they’re taking it seriously. If I was forced to put 100 bucks on it, I’d put it on Tester winning.
I love that they claim he is closing access by buying a ranch that didn’t allow access and ignoring the fact that you can still access the forest land behind the ranch and still further ignoring the fact that Tester doesn’t allow access to his farm.
The Republicans continue to think it’s a layup because of that and don’t put any effort into it and as Skol says, the “rich out of stater” thing sticks. Even my 7 year old shakes his head when one of the ads comes on and says Oh Shady Sheehy.
See what I wrote below.
Just me personally, I’d rather have a ‘new’ instater Republican than a live long instater that votes “blue’ all the time.
Yeah, that’s not the way Montanans think. Out of staters are bad and their is a hierarchy to them as well. The worst is obviously Californians followed very closely by Minnesotans. Somewhere after that is Cheeseheads and people from Oregon/Washington. After CA and MN it starts to depend on what part of the state you are in.
See below again.
Because of posting order it seems below should be ‘above,’
Regardless, Republicans need to win this seat!
What did MN do to you?
Oh, Blue State. Never mind.
Lots of Minnesota hunters out here, they don’t seem to know how to archery hunt elk or prairie hunt deer.
@Point and shoot, how hard can it be?@
And that is a large part of the problem. In a previous life I was in a profession where I had to deal with the outfall of that crap and flock shooters infuriate the absolute hell out of me.
This…they are ding dongs when it comes to hunting.
Quick anecdote: Daughter working for Montana Fish wildlife and parks (FWP she finally finished her BS) this summer doing a lot of driving, surveys of fisherman etc. FWP gave her a rental car with California plates. She got flipped off several times the first day just driving. Guys wouldn’t talk to her when she would drive up to the raft take out sites. Had to tell a few college kids hassling her at a fish access site that she was born and bred in Anaconda and we kicked your ass in high school softball (Dillon kids). Boss finally got her a new car. She also carries a 9mm in her waist band under her uniform.
Well I guess that wasn’t really quick.
Thank you. Understand your point.
If I didn’t know better I would think one of the local FWP wardens has the hots for me…we’re on a first name basis and I swear she stalks the boat ramps to inspect my G3 every single time.
G3? I’ve never heard IT called that before.
Haha!
MT Viking is a tall man.
Everyone else is a G2 or a G1 by comparison.
There’s one running around with my last name. As of a year or two ago she was down on the Bighorn. When one of my coworkers got a ticket from her he was convinced she was my sister.
I’d say Tester wins.
MT has around 760,000 registered voters.
5% is about 38,000 votes.
I think they will find the 50,000 ballots necessary to win.
I hope I’m wrong.
Anyone going to watch the Fever vs the Mystics at 11 a.m. this morning? Its on NBA Tv.
I might turn it on at work.
11am start time in the middle of the week?
The WNBA have some marketing geniuses running their shit.
Almost as good as their Referees from what I have seen.
Nobody watches anyway.
The who against the what?
Movers delivered the household goods yesterday, we now have rooms full of boxes. I joked with The Teacher saying it looked like that warehouse scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Guys were working hard, running back to the truck to pick up the next box in 105 degree temps. We gave them access to all the drinks in the fridge. I worked the garage and directed stuff to different rooms, The Teacher worked inside and got stuff set where she wanted/needed it go.
Garage looks semi-organized, shelves all along the walls and enough room to park the CRV inside. Lots of work still to do but we can take all the time we need to do said work.
Oh and semi obligatory
Great job, SoCal! Enjoy your freedom!
Escrow closes tomorrow so getting Drivers Licenses and Car Registrations switched over will be the next step.
Then you will be officially be ex SoCalers.
One last CA tax return to file, unless you still have a business interest or real estate in Commiefornia.
We are going to look for a Pro Tax Preparer this year for sure.
Both part time residents, The Teacher retiring this year, selling the house, both of us getting retirement income from Calif.
Going to be way to complicated for me to figure out, and probably two expensive if I get it wrong.
Call CA Retirement folks ASAP and make sure you tell them you no longer live in CA. Correct ID address, etc….
Since you are no longer a CA resident, anything you now collect should not be subject to CA income tax, but ID income tax. Unless there’s some CA commie tax plan to keep taking your ID money. Not 100% sure on that.
We did that last week.
I have no doubt that they are working on a plan to tax as much of our retirement income as possible if they haven’t already.
They have a budget crisis after all.
@I was told that California has the best economy out of all the states and the USA would not exist if it were to secede from the union@
Greasy Gavin is good at telling big lies with a straight face.
Excellent skill for him to have.
I wish they would test that theory.
Did you tip the movers? I never know what to do there…
We did, 4 workers yesterday and two others that helped with loading and packing previously.
One Team Leader for the crew all 3 days so we gave him a $200 to share with the crew as he saw fit.
The Teacher and I discussed tipping them previously and I left the amount up to her as I, like you, struggle with what is fair. The worked hard for us each step and we wanted to show our appreciation.
Good show. People who work hard should be appreciated.
You’re free – enjoy!
Made cold drinks available to them, pitched when I could while not getting in their way.
The company hires ‘student athletes’ from collages and is actually the largest independent Moving Co in Calif. Guys said that they get a lot of goodnatured grief about the Co name.

Nice!
Enjoy your new home.
Thank you, we already are but it gets more like ‘home’ every hour of work we put in.
Good to hear that everything went well and you finally escaped from Commiefornia. Enjoy your new home!
That is the plan. So far so good.
#nojinx
Your accomplishment and freedom is almost palpable.
It felt like we are getting out just in time.
Local trash company just got approval to add service to tax bill in order to pay for ‘recycling’ required by the state. At a significant increase of course.
Then the first of two large gas tax increases starts in Sep, like Calif doesn’t tax gas enough already.
Every day the news for Calf is worse and worse. Seemed like the only options are put your head down and give them control of your wallet/willpower or to get out of the state.
We opted for the later.
Great to hear!
Justice is now about picking winners and losers.
Yep.
seems reasonable
Jets on Rich Eisen:
It’s what the money represents.
I thought today was Wednesday?
It’s a quote from Jets.
I can’t control what he says.
DE seems to have found a loophole.
Since the QOTD was about Jets, I posted what Jets said.
He also seems to be fine with whatever QB is throwing him the ball.
Also
Puts a nail in the coffin of the stupid fans over the past 3 years saying that JJ would want out if they ever got rid of Kirk. That narrative was false and down right stupid the moment it leaked into the Universe.
QotD: Yes.
QOTD – not sure. If we continue to run the ball poorly he has a shot – even Mullens had no problem getting him the ball last year.
Now if we develop a running game, he has less of a chance for obvious reasons.
Correct. Jets had similar numbers with a good QB and with a not so good QB.
Jets will not reach 2,000 yards.
agree
Happy Hump Day!
For Freezy
Funny how the Soda Sluts hips are synced up perfectly in the two GIs above.
Hun has excellent timing
JJ will not earn his big contract.
Not that paying him was wrong. Might as well at this stage. But he has peaked and will start trending downward going forward.
That is my negative nilly take for the season. He will still be okay, but not $35-million-a-year okay. For that money, he better lead the league in all WR categories. I don’t care who the QB is; that is the expectation.
I think this is a rational expectation. It’s fair to expect defenses are going to focus on taking JJ away, and whoever the QB is, they will have to work hard to get him the ball. Since none of the QB’s on the roster have ever shown to be anything special in the NFL, this could be a down year for JJ.

F State Farm Insurance!
Happy Hump Day!
SKOL!
Sorry about your insurance company issues. That sucks. Back in the day, there was a storm that rolled through our area and there was a house that we drove by every week that had some severe damage. Months and months went by and the damage was not repaired. The person that owned the house finally bought one of those big moveable signs and started blasting State Farm on the sign over and over. I don’t know how or when it was resolved or if it was resolved at all, but eventually (probably a year later) the house was finally repaired.
On the other side of things, I’ve had State Farm for over 40 years and have never had a major problem with them. When our shed collapsed a few years ago, we had it resolved within a few weeks.
The more I think about it, it was more than a year, possibly 2 years before the house was repaired. It went on for a long time.
The company has paid quickly and with no issues with the two car claims we had. My motorcycle was also stolen and they covered that.
Every single home claim has been a struggle.
Wife is finally willing to change companies. We are probably just paying for a new roof ourselves, but will wait until next spring.
Both of my children are adults and will never use State Farm insurance. That is really all I can do. Try to cost them more in lost premiums than what the roof costs. I will do that. My younger coworkers hear all about this as well.
Last thought on this. Believe State Farm policies are issued thru locsl agents and not nationally. As such, a local agent receives a commission for each of your yearly renewals. If you haven’t already done so, might be worth lighting a fire under his ass over this.
Agent told us that he has been instructed to not get involved in claims. This is specifically the reason we will be going with a broker that can sell us policies from several companies vs a State Farm employee. I want someone that works for me, and knows it.
There is nobody at State Farm that is working for me at all. No reason to keep sending him money.
Seems like a cop out by agent. Oh well, if he doesn’t mind the loss of income, seems prudent to find someone who does.
We went with a ‘broker’ here in Idaho, they found the company (SafeCo) that gave us best deal.
Have yet to make a claim so don’t know how well that part will work out.
State Farm agents used to be much more involved, however State Farm has started to really centralize. It kind of makes the agents kind of pointless.
Insurance is Calif is so bad many people can’t get any.
Allstate is pulling out of the state, State Farm is not renewing policies.
https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-03-23/state-farm-wont-renew-72-000-insurance-policies-in-california-worsening-the-states-insurance-crisis#:~:text=The%20companies%20have%20cited%20high,back%20policies%20in%20the%20state.
I wouldn’t pay off the mortgage since my insurance was thru CalVet, the lien holder and if I paid it off I would have to find my own.
21st Century started a new company just for Calif Drivers called ‘Toggle’ you actually have to go thru 21st Century to get to it.. Luckily I only had to deal with them for 1 month before we qualified for insurance in Idaho.
I hear it is almost as bad in Florida.
Meanwhile our premiums go up to help cover the lost income even as they lessen claims…
Yup,
They said that they have to ‘spread the risk’ over the entire state. That means the safe and sane people have to prop up the idiots.
Sounds fair.
