Yep. DEI queen said that building, the one with the clearest shot to the President, was not the Secret Service’s responsibility. It was the local cops’. I’ve always been told that the Secret Service has control to 1000 yards, which is still a makeable shot for a trained/experienced shooter. 130 yards is stupid close. I could just about hit a human size target with a handgun at that range.
I have shot several whitetail does with 44 mag 8 3/8″ barrel at 100 yds. Granted it is scoped but 130 yds is stupid close.
I have 2 separate rifles that I have shot 4″ and 6″ 5 shot groups at 1000 yds. No wind and range finder dopes the shot and turret changes.
I also missed a bull at 70 yds broadside last year shooting off a bipod. Go figure
That handgun would do it. I was thinking more like my 40 caliber Glock. I missed an antelope last year at a hair under 300, prone and on a bipod. Still don’t know how cuz the shot felt good. The next day I shot one in the back of the neck from a little over 250. I used to be pretty proficient at shooting prairie dogs at 300 plus (with the same rifle, I hit a thumb tack at 200 when I used to shoot a lot). 130 yards is absolutely astonishing. If the Secret Service didn’t have a fully clear view of the guy, they should know enough to shoot through the tin. They, of all people, should know the difference between cover and concealment. At the very least, it would have rattled the guy and got Trump off the stage.

Does it really matter? Who is responsible for Trump’s security? I believe it is the Secret Service. And it really doesn’t matter if it was their agent, local or even a private rent a cop. This was a major failure and they then the Secret Service own it.

Yep. And they are now reporting that the Secret Service had reliable information that Iran is trying or is going to try to assassinate Trump. If true then security should have been ramped up. If it was, then that makes the fact that this happened even more appalling.

How goes the job search?
Search has been a bit slow, had hernia surgery so I’ve been a bit laid up for the past three weeks but starting to feel better now. Have had a bit of a complication, something called a seroma, which is apparently a fluid build up, causing a little more pain and discomfort, at least that’s what physicians assistant hopes it is.

This has been the biggest issue with legalizing marijuana, there isn’t a good way to determine if a person is too high to drive. You can only tell that they have THC in their system.
You can still perform SFSTs, especially the eye test and determine if somebody is impaired, but I agree with your point. There is no PBT for THC (or other drugs for that matter).
