VIKINGS NEWS – Someone named Bobby McCain was signed. Also, our old friend Xavier Rhodes(No thanks) tweeted that he would be in purple soon. Maybe he means Baltimore? I am sure someone will go to what used to be Twitter and copy some links of the defense looking good in the first practice with pads yesterday.

If this report is correct, they wasted 10 mil on Darnold. 7 on 7 no pressure, goes 2 for 6. Either he’s that poor, or there’s more to the story here.

True about center. But when QB i under center, back gets better angle and a bit of a running start before he gets ball. This also allows for a quicker play and lineman don’t have to hold blocks quite as long.
If center still can’t block that’s on the front office.

there’s a good and a bad to that play. WR was wide open, so much so slight pause for receiver – still good throw and catch. The bad – first team defense – how did a WR get behind you that much.
Defense counts too.

You can’t go in the locker room and tell the players, “hey, I agree with you that JJ is better, but we don’t want to risk damaging his ego because we are worried the rest of the team sucks too much.” That’s how you lose the locker room and eventually your job. If JJ doesn’t seem overwhelmed and is playing better than Darnold, he needs to play.

Back on Mother’s Day I had shared with y’all that my stepdaughter and granddaughter had received a creepy text from a cousin invoking the “c” word. Ultimately my stepdaughter chose to ignore it and I was asked not to make a scene at HS graduation the next weekend if the cousin happened to show up (he did not).

Subsequently the son of the cousin (the son is the same age as granddaughter) got into the act with a bunch of snapchats, etc. The wife of the cousin sent a vitriolic text that my grand had “ruined” the coming out basketball and track seasons of their 8th grader, said my granddaughter would get hers eventually.

Stepd continued to ignore, other than talking to the coaches who said there were no issues with the granddaughter as a teammate or sportsmanship.

We were sitting with stepdaughter and son in law (stepdad to my granddaughter) at the rodeo. All was well. Granddaughter was at the nearby Legion baseball final, as her friend’s boyfriend is on that team.

Granddaughter was confronted by her 51 year old cousin, who loudly asked when she would be going to college and it won’t be soon enough that he never has to see her again, you “son of a bitch” [sic]. A bystander asked what was going on, he said she is a little b etc etc. Granddaughter backed away sobbing, and my stepdaughter’s phone blew up from multiple mothers who witnessed the altercation.

Our role was to calm the situation down (dad was going to come down from Billings and confront him at 2 am) and convince them to go to the police.

The 18 year old went through the day long process of filing an order of protection yesterday and the 51 year old cousin was charged with disorderly conduct.

Next couple of days should be fun, small town gossip.

Yeah, some people’s kids I tell ya.

The dad (who had been drinking) was in his driveway in Billings wanting to drive straight over and confront on the doorstep. I told him that best case scenario that would end up playing into their hands by justifying their actions, worst case scenario he would get shot. It’s one thing to confront someone on neutral ground and have a verbal altercation, it’s another thing to have a physical altercation on someone’s curtilage.

I learned that one in CCW classes. In Montana at least, castle doctrine applies to your curtilage, so if someone enters my yard inclusive of the inner barbed wire fence and signed as no trespassing, I have every right to confront them and tell them to leave as soon as they cross the cattle guard. Now that has never actually happened, although I have had randos drive up to the cattle guard and stop when they see the signs.

His wife works at the hospital, she is also a loudmouth but I think she is smarter than to ever mention anything to me. In the hierarchy of a hospital she would be committing career suicide coming at me aggressively.

Best advice I got from my father in law was that you shouldn’t care what people think about you – if you say and do things that are your true thoughts and feelings in a respectful manner some people will like you and some people will hate you – so don’t try and be something you’re not.

That’s why in our professional group I was always the tip of the spear fighting policy changes, etc…

Yes, I try to do that. It still tastes like garbage in my mouth, though.

If you’ve got memory like a steel trap, I previously mentioned working “security” at a party in dorms where I tried to stop two guys from leaving the party with open containers, a girl got in their face, we ended up on an elevator where all hell broke loose, I got sprayed in the face with deodorant and kicked in the head a couple of times, then got in a nice uppercut to one of the doods.

I was 18 and got to figure out more or less on my own how the legal system works and how those two got away without criminal charges, but at least the university banned them from campus.

The Teacher has her ‘smooth’ peanut butter while I have ‘chunky’.
She seldom finishes her jar and I often have to ‘step up’ so it doesn’t go to waste.
I have learned to wipe the BB off of the knife onto the bread before adding the jelly, so that helps.

Sometimes I just let the dogs lick the knife. Food prep is done in the corner of the kitchen, hence we do little voice skits with the dogs – master is in the corner, full stop, all dogs report to the corner.

I especially like when the grandkids are over and eat with us, I let the dogs clean our plates and then put them back up in the cupboard. I suppose the joke has gotten old since they don’t say anything anymore.

It’s an excellent training opportunity. Bubba, the adopted one, had food aggression issues and I would make him sit (Tuck the older that we’ve had since he was 7 weeks old has always been trained this way). Set a plate down, if he bolted I would lift the plate up. Set it back down, if steady I would get down on all fours, push around them, between them, climb over the back, shove them back, etc. Had a lot of evil sounding growls and strings of drool at first but now I can point to one side or another of a plate and say, this is Tuck’s side and that is Bubba’s side, they mind the line.

While jam uses the whole fruit, jelly calls for just the essence — the fruit juice. Jelly has no seeds or fruit pulp in it, and is completely smooth in texture. When jelly is made, the fruit is crushed to extract the juice, which is then strained to keep all the pulp and seeds out’

I prefer Jam or Preserves myself.

They aren’t afraid to take a QB in the first round or trade a first round pick for a QB, even if they have a HOF QB already, meanwhile the Vikings very rarely take first round QBs. They seem to understand you need a franchise QB and you’re not getting one unless you draft one, whereas the Vikings and a fair amount of their fans would rather pass on drafting QBs early because they might be a bust and are instead content with middling to slightly above average QB play and zero SBs.

I remember when the Packers picked Love. I defended it on DN. I thought it was ballsy. If you think you got a chance at a QB who can be the guy, you have to take him. It is such a HUGE position these days.

Plus, Rodgers was getting long in the tooth at that point. I could still see helping him out with a WR, too. That wasn’t completely unrealistic.

I was about 65 percent for the Love pick and 35 percent against it.

We will not see if it pays off.
