A Texas delegate was robbed at gunpoint by two masked men in Chicago following the Democratic National Convention (DNC) early on Wednesday.
The delegate was walking downtown in Chicago with a friend at around 2 a.m. when the masked gunmen pulled up alongside the victims in a dark blue Range Rover. They demanded that the two give up their belongings, or risk being shot and killed.
Following the initial robbery, the thieves then crossed the street to rob two more victims before taking off in their vehicle.

That is correct. I retired at 69. Before that worked 65 – 70 hours a week. Free time was usually family time.

I won’t go into my work experience other than I know all about long hours and family time (I have 8 kids). I wasn’t trying to insinuate anything, just thought it sounded funny about being here all day when that happens anyway.

I understand that corporations will always find a way to fuck over the working class, but in IT, outsourcing has been criminal. Limiting the # of imported tech types immediately increased my pay. Under Joe/Kamala, my pay is now lower than in 2015.
I am talking bill rate as a contractor for Senior Software Engineer/DBA roles.
I have a full time job, so now the issue is how long I am content with annual raises that do not keep up with inflation….
Personally, for me, Republicans have been better for my income over the last 30 years. Whenever the dems are in charge, I see a huge influx of outsourced IT types, and a large drop in pay scale.

I hate all politicians, and would call myself a libertarian if I had to choose.
Selfishly, I see that the republican “agenda” has always improved my pay, and the opposite happens when the dems are in charge.

I am only basing this on my IT experience. It is MUCH easier for me to find a contract or job, with good pay, when I am not competing with third world “talent” working fully remote at 1/5 the pay.
Limiting H1B visas is good for local talent, but forces companies to pay more to fill those rolls.

i would bet that the Trump tax cuts actually hurt him personally. As a NY resident with all his many properties, getiing 2% paled in comparison to giving up all the SALT deductions.
I would bet it didn’t. He has passed things with little details that protect him specifically. Like promoting off shore drilling… except he made sure it’s not allowed in areas he owns shoreline property. Drilling is good for America but first and always foremost he makes sure he’s taken care of.
My point was personal income taxes. He signed that and it personally hurt him on his taxes.

The Trump tax cuts actually raised my taxes.
It had to do with the “exemptions” part of the tax return. While the rates weren’t increased, my deductions from the “exemptions” were eliminated.
I had 3 kids at home. That was almost $15,000 in deductions. That plus my itemized/standard deduction of around $13,000 was more than the new standard deduction that replaced the “exemptions”.
Bottomline, it wasn’t a big increase in taxes.
It was the bad loop hole where parents with kids older than 17 but not yet graduated from college got hit.
Overall though, the SALT was golden.
People in Blue states with high taxes got shafted !!

I do tax returns for people who live in NY/PA/NJ/MD…….
Property taxes in NY and NJ were $15,000. Doesn’t even include their 10%+ state income tax.

Given aways paid for by new tax methods may get you elected, but are doomed and will fail.
That plan is only for people with wealth of $100 million or more.

It’s been about 5-7 years since I’ve gone but if you’re a fan of Mac and cheese, I would recommend the walleye Mac and cheese. If they still offer it.

There are a few now. I see Cafe Caribe(I have had their Jerk chicken wings, pretty good) and Harry Singhs, and West Indies soul food.

Yep. Last Saturday in the rain, I shot a 42 on 9 holes. Next day the weather was perfect. shot at least 50 (stopped keeping score after hitting two into the water on #6).

Thank you. It’s been a while since I have golfed regularly but that was my definition of “topping” the ball. I thought perhaps the verbiage had evolved.
