VIKINGS NEWS – The Vikings gave Harrison Phillips a contract extension yesterday, keeping him under contract with Minnesota through the 2026 season.
The Vikings moved up some of the Power Rankings, but are still viewed around 20ish. A solid game against the 9ers this weekend will likely garner a little more attention than beating the Giants.
NFL News – It sounds like there’s a good chance McCaffrey will not play this weekend.

I have tomorrow’s thread scheduled. Been a crazy few days, trying to finish up a contracting job whilst also doing my normal inspection route. Also coaching football & other stuff, been a bit hectic.
Took the Twinkies 6 pitchers but they managed to hang on for a 6-4 win.
Ump even took a grand slam away from Royce but they managed.
2 good starting pitchers and 3 scrubs, they are trying to limp to the playoffs.
If they can get there and get Ryan back they might make some noise.
Hope for the best but expect the worst, again.

This ^ if you have most of the pieces you want in your defense you scheme each offense you face differently. Attack their weaknesses, and dont ignore their strengths. We need to score first, and put the pressure on Brock, dont let them get the run game going.

Didn’t know the Purple installed new turf this spring. Some speculation JJ’s injury might have something to do with it. Real grass would be nice but prob not possible for other events.

Have not heard of that. Sprinklers have to be installed. They have a sun roof, doubt it will ever happen.
Typically what they do with that is install temporary real grass over the top of the artificial turf and then remove it.
Arizona has a retractable roof.
Can’t have that in Minnesota when it doesn’t get much above 50 from October onward.
Yeah, AZ also has the whole field on tracks and they roll it outside for watering and sunlight.
Personally, I don’t buy the “turf” excuse when a player gets hurt.
Plenty of players get hurt when playing on real grass.
Our society is so into “blaming” something.
Football is a physical contact sport.
True, guessing the most dangerous thing with turf a cleat is planted and gets hit akwardly. With grass it has a chance to give.
Yep. I remember in the 80’s artificial turf was called dangerous until the new and improved turf. That was good until about 2015, and now the turf is causing all of these injuries.
They just move the goalposts IMO.

Reminds me of my senior year of HS wrestling.
A former teammate came back from collage and wanted to work with us.
He got me in a headlock but I was turned so my face was in his sweaty armpit.
I was quite motivated to get out of the hold but it took a minute as he was a college wrestler while I was still in HS.
Yuk, now I have PTSD over it.
This was a consideration when I got to the prison.
There was a group of guys who played racquetball and wanted me to join them.
It had been years since I played, my weight/fitness was no where near the same level, not to mention my flexability.
Scheduling was also an issue as I lived almost an hour from the prison and they lived and played an hour on the other side.
Glad he’s not playing but his backup, Mason, is no slouch.

I was surprised when he came to MN so quickly, I thought it had to be revenge with our suspect interior, no way does he think this OL will help him succeed. I didn’t realize just how important bouncing plays was apart of his game and with our two bookend very good tackles… makes sense. Hope all 3 can stay healthy!

In Korea families would have dog for their ‘thanksgiving’ meal, next day get a new dog, raise it for a year, rinse and repeat.

I was stationed at Osan. There was a dog farm just outside the fence.
Ran a 20k around that airfield once.
We had a transportation company stationed there so we visited (aka inspected) there occasionally.

Where has the pride in our country gone? It feels like if something like this were to happen again, half of the country would say we deserved it.

They were telling stories on the news this morning while I drove to work and they seemed to hit a little harder than usual. We really need to get back to the country of September 12, 2001. How did we get so far from it?
I was thinking of how hard it would be to be the CIC. Imagine after the first plane hit you have fairly credible source that Saudi pilots are commandeering commercial flights with the aim of suicide attacks on US landmarks. Now you have to decide whether any of the 100’s of planes in the air need to be shot down if they are not responding to the tower…knowing you might take down a plane that might just have a bad radio or a plane that has been successfully taken back by the passengers who have no idea how to work the radio.
Yeah, no wonder presidents age 5X as fast as a normal person during those 4 years.
