KIRKTOBER has arrived for the ATL Falcons. Kirk has a history of slowish starts, and amazing Octobers. He played about as good as possible and had a couple great throws (and 1 stinker) in the second half last night. It was a very fun game.

The Green Bay Packers have suspended Romeo Doubs, one of their young and promising wide receivers, for Sunday’s game versus the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. This comes after he reportedly skipped practice because he is unsatisfied with his role on the team. The Packers brass is addressing this big disciplinary decision.
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” general manager Brian Gutekunst said, per Pelissero. “His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
He’s the 2nd most targeted on team, maybe he’s pissed about this weeks scheme. I swear, some of these players have the maturity of a 2 yr old.

I’m not very technical, so I hate it when my computer does stuff and I don’t know why. The last few days I have been coming onto Skoloholics and at times there are new comments, but they are not showing purple. I have a website where I do jigsaw puzzles and when I complete one, it marks it as completed so I can see which ones I have done or not done. Yesterday I completed one and when I checked this morning, it is not marked as completed, while the older ones I have are still marked as completed. I have this feeling that my antivirus software is trying to “protecting” me and I don’t know how to stop it from doing this. Or it could be something entirely different that is happening and it makes me frustrated. There are times I would like to put all software engineers in a room without any computers and see how long they go before they go into withdrawal symptoms and start weeping in a corner and asking God why they can’t mess up anyone’s life anymore.

I retired on two paychecks, and filing now for Social Security. I am gonna be OK, even though I’m going from about $250K a year, to about $125K a year now (before taxes). I’m officially poor. grin.

Plus having very few debts help, no house payment, no car payment, pay off credit cards every month.

I’m thankful for all I have, and feel blessed. When you work long and hard all your life, you hopefully end up in a place where you will be financially secure. We’ve accomplished this. So many folks never get there these days.

Kirk played outstanding last night, he dropped a bunch of dimes while getting hit or under duress and had a number of receivers drop passes, the late Mooney one really stuck out. That being said, I’d still take darnold at 10 mil cap hit over Kirk at 45 or whatever he is.

Earlier in the week, I wasn’t here but read later, there was an interesting Kirk/Sam debate. Now, I have predicted Sam would have a great year. But, I want to see one more thing from him, and this gets back to the debate stuff.
Kirk has played a lot of football from behind. Look back over the last few years. Sam in his past, playing from behind ( different circumstances for sure) and had his problems. And most all of this year he’s been playing with a lead.
Just want to see Sam shine 10 behind in fourth quarter.

I’m stating my opinion, and mine alone. I don’t think the election will be close. The fact that polls show that the difference between the two sides is within margin of error in the battleground states despite the many debacles of the current administration tells me that people are voting with their feelings, not their heads.
We will see who is right on November 5.
I could definitely see Harris winning, but I don’t think in any way it will be “legitimate” if she does. Most actual polls that I’ve seen show Trump winning in most (if not all) battleground states and with a huge lead in electoral college.
Not to mention what happens between now and then. I think most people can reasonably assume there will be more dirty tactics, probably all from one side.
I guess if you believe the 2020 results, which included several statistical impossibilities in 4 states, then I don’t know what to tell you. I would say that sort of stuff is likely to happen again, since the courts wouldn’t hear any evidence and the country generally didn’t change anything for this election.
Not to mention Trump leading at 10 pm on election night, only to have Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, PA, GA and NC all stop counting votes and then declare Biden the winner at 7am on Wednesday.
That’s part of the statistical impossibility of over 95% (some cases 98%) of the remaining votes coming in for one candidate.

QB WINZ. Do you think Caleb Williams is the deserving party of the wins they have this year? I’d say a resounding “No”. But just looking at win/loss, you might be thinking he’s doing fine. He’s not.
The QB matters in wins and losses.

Correct DE, and Cousins has done his job better than most QB’s in the league ever since he became a starter in 2015. He has almost always been the only part of the team that was not only good, but exceptional. Unfortunately the rest of the team has been a total nothing burger. One guy who does his job exceptionally well, cannot make up for the total lack of excellence on the rest of the team.
I think last night they said he has 30 in his career. Make that 31 now.
He’s not perfect, but he certainly doesn’t deserve some (or most) of the criticism he gets, IMO.

The only thing you would be missing out on is rapport with Sammy D, but they’re not going to build that even in the next 2 weeks with the limited practices. Activate him late and then activate him for the game and the Jets haven’t planned or prepared at all? Is he traveling with the team? Has he been traveling with the team?

My main point was that I was surprised they didn’t leave like on Tuesday to get them used to the time difference.
They are paid millions. They can handle it.

I was just confused as KOC stated differently on Monday. My issue was with that not with the idea that they should go earlier.
I listened to the KoC / Paul Allen interview on Tues, and KoC mentioned that he has someone in charge of this type of thing, and based on acclimating to the time change, leaving when they did is optimal. So the team knew the full schedule before this week started.

I’ve been sending lots of money to Samaritan’s Purse and the Red Cross. I’ve seen some trucks loading supplies for relief efforts. I’ll try to get something to them, as well. What a horrible situation. Prayers for all the people affected.
Awesome job. Our neighborhood created a Hurricane Helene relief drive, and there were hundreds of people donating clothes, shoes, food, toys, pots and pans, etc. Every single home participated. I was very pleased to see the community rise up in this way to help others.

We have 100’s of billions of dollars to send to crooked Ukraine but can only afford $750 to those affected by this flooding.
