Good morning everyone, and welcome to Skoloholics, your home for Minnesota Vikings discussion!
It’s game day, and it’s an early game day, as the teams are across the pond in London. The game counts as a home game for the Vikings, which makes sense, as the Vikings have loved playing in London and overseas in general. The Vikings are 3-0 in London and 4-0 in overseas games.
The Jets are a tough team, especially with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Rodgers is a very good QB, which we Vikings fans know all-too-well. Flores will not be able to confuse him as easily as other quarterbacks, and blitzing Rodgers often ends in disaster.
The real QB story to watch for me is Sam Darnold returning to play against the team who drafted him, gave up on him (far too early), and shipped him to one of the worst organizations in football (Panthers), like a double slap to the face. He’s now playing at an MVP level and on one of the best teams in football. I’d love to see him light up his old team today.

Crazy. And hasn’t come close to living up to the salary. He’s not played well since forcing his way out of Houston/the allegations against him. He plays like a man with a heavy, heavy burden on his soul.
I think he’s guilty as shit of the allegations against him. I think there’s more coming and the walls are closing in.

KOC said that they were going deep so often because NY was playing it so tight up close to the line that he wanted to ‘take advantage of that’.
He did admit that they didn’t execute as well as he would have liked. I suspect the rain played a part in that.
Well, he had his reasons, but there are so many plays you can run that gives a QB a nice easy throw for 5 yards.

No different than the Vikings game today. Warner tried saying our Oline was one of our strongest weapons of our offense. It’s been this way all year. The announcers don’t take the time to learn anything about the Vikings, so when we’re playing good , they just drone on and on about nothing. Notice how excited they got when Rogers started playing good?
Man, look at player stats on offense i have no idea how we won. Game ball to Flores i guess. KOC and Sam sucked.

Defense was really great all game. Sealed the deal with an interception to end the Jets last drive, trying to win the game. This defense is for real.
Both Offenses sucked,
They sucked early and we sucked later.
I blame good defenses, rain, and the travel.
Losing Adams began our reign of suckage to be honest, made us one dimensional.

Hey JR (in case you’re on) we’re going to evacuate to my brothers place in Alabama (right near Mobile). Gotta transport 3 cats. Looks like about 7 and a half hours with a pit stop, maybe a little longer. We’re rolling out at noon tomorrow. Mandatory evacuation order is imminent. Gotta try and beat the crowds a little, but expect very heavy traffic going Northwest.
What a pain in the butt.

We struggled similarly in Santa Barbara only with wildfires and earthquakes instead of Hurricanes.

Offense was off today, both Sam and Jets I thought, defense won this one, largely.

What? Darnold completed over 71% of his passes for 275 yards, 3 TD’s and 123.4 passer rating last game. I wouldn’t call that subpar, I’d call that excellent.
Indeed, Sam seemed to be off today, but played well at lameblow.
Josh Allen is 6 of 18 for 56 yards in the first half against Houston. Stroud is 10 of 11 for 177 yards and a TD, with the ball and 30 seconds left in the half.

Didn’t hurt that we seemed to be playing an offense that liked like. it came out of the 80’s – no movement and Rogers looks way past his prime.
Rodgers is still dangerous, but he was clearly off today. The defense might have been in his head a little (or a lot).
Defense plus rain plus travel.
Not a good day for QBs.

Sam only completed 45% of his passes, and his passer rating today was 50.3, but seriously, KOC called a really bad game in my opinion. Set Sam up to fail.
Agreed. Take a few things underneath every now and then. Lots of catches and YAC left on the field….
Not taking underneath toes isn’t on koc. That’s on sam. I think somebody wanted to beat his old team more than he let on and was pressing.
Certainly possible, but not possible unless KOC is giving him play calls that enable him to chuck the ball deep over and over. I think it was KOC hoping Darnold could be the hero for the team, and trying to give him the opportunity to do it.
Both QBs played like crap, QBRs in the 50s.

For the Vikings it was play calling in my opinion.
100%. That and losing Jones. Chandler is a good change of pace he is NOT a lead back. If Jones is out for a while we are screwed
