I understand that he has to say what he has to say to try to somehow revive Watson’s career, because that team is in REALLY bad shape with a washed up, apathetic QB who is on a deal worth nearly a quarter of a billion dollars.

Good morning. I slept in till almost 8 a.m. today. Tired from the long trip home yesterday. Big game this Sunday against the Lions. Fingers crossed we see a very strong showing on both sides of the ball, and of course a victory!

Got home about an hour ago. The house is fine, but when the power went out, pretty much everything in the fridge spoiled. Freezer stuff looks fine though. Cats are fed and watered, bags are unpacked, and we’re watching the Ravens/Redskins game. Ordered Popeyes, and that’s supposed to be here in 45 minutes. Tired, after a 9 hour drive home (with stops) but happy and safe. All is well.

Thanks NoDak… tomorrow we start cleaning up the debris in the yard. Water came all the way up to the doorstep, literally inches from getting into the house. Totally blessed that we’re all good.

Yeah, have a downed tree is all. Lots of debris. Neighbor across the street has lived in this neighborhood since 1998 and said he’s never seen anything like it. Golf course was flooded, streets flooded, homes flooded. We’re about 9 miles inland. I’m glad we left. First time I ever evacuated for a hurricane.

Sitting in my living room this morning with the cat, drinking coffee, and just relaxing. Good to be home, and everything is fine. The lake is still up in my backyard, and we saw the alligator swimming this morning. Neighbors say he’s been in everyone’s yard. Golf course is still underwater. Looks like rain today too. How are things there?

Hey SoCal, yes, we’re happy to be home. Everything is fine, but we still have flooding issues in places, and the lake is still in my backyard. The cart path is completely underwater (at least 3 feet). Gonna be awhile before things return to normal. Gas is scarce, as are some other things but help is on the way today I hear.

Chandler isn’t the guy, Cam is more versatile. We saw that when Jones went out for a half + in London, the Jest adjusted to it.
So it is a plus IMHO if Jones is playing or not. I have hope that he playing since he was on the field practicing.

Long term run planning. If Jones is out for any extended period of time, chandler isn’t good enough to shoulder the load. He’s a good rotational piece.
Akers didn’t do much as the lead dog after Mixon/Pierce went down – I spot started him in FF and didn’t get much. He played well before he went down last year. Does know our system. Thought he looked solid in preseason. Has me thinking Jones needs another week or two.

My brother is a Cowboy fan. He hasn’t liked Jerry for a long time. It may not be because he is a dinosaur, it could be for other reasons, like the fact he has produced a mediocre product for years.
The way in which he operates the team is old school dip shittery. Step aside and be the owner and let the team operate and get a GM like every other team. The times have passed him by.

I was born in Texas but my parents moved before I turned 1. When I was a kid I was a Vikings, Cowboys and Oilers fan. I haven’t followed the Texas teams closely for a long time.

Looks great, good job.
It was actually a little touch and go there for a few secs. It’s not a sooper expensive drone by any means but it operates fairly autonomously DURING THE DAY when all of its little sensors can detect potential obstacles, safe landing zone, etc.
I didn’t have any freshly charged batteries in the kit, so flew with 50% battery. Stupid of me. All sorts of notices popping up about how it is too dark for it to orient itself, use manual control, etc…
I flew from our pasture about 1/8 mile away so that it would have a large area to land in. Took a few snaps and then set up that hyperlapse shot above. At 50/100 images dropped below 20%, had to override auto rth. As it finished it went below 10% and immediately went into auto landing mode – I had to hold manual pitch up to prevent it from descending as it was somewhere over the creek. Running through the field watching the screen and trying not to trip myself until I could spot the lights of it, flew it manually over towards me avoiding trees and power lines, released pitch and as it came down a spotlight lit on the underside, so I could at least see it wasn’t going to land in sage brush or something. 1% battery at landing.

Lions have a better offense overall, so that’s strength-vs-strength.

Skoloholics Pick ‘Em League Week #6
I did incredible with my picks this week. I only got three wrong. I only lost a total of 16 points. That should put me at the top of the weekly standings, right?
WRONG!
It still put me in the bottom half. That’s because we had two players who had a perfect week: Little Fishin’ and NoDakRube. Congratulations to them! Plus, I’d rather be fishing and Kirk is still good both only got one wrong.
Welcome to my world. I give my best, and it’s not nearly enough. Once again, I am reminded me of life’s great truth: why try?
Here is a breakdown of the overall standings:
Little Fishin has impressively crept back into the mix despite missing a week of picks…or was it two? I don’t know. What do you want from me? I’m just a guy who can only get three picks wrong and still have it amount to nothing…not that I’m bitter.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Mr. Consistency himself, Freezy, tumbles all the way down from his lake house in second place to tenth place, and I love him for it. Freezy is my pal. A couple weeks ago, I asked everyone to take a week off from their picks to give me a chance to get back into things. Freezy is the only one who was a real friend and actually did it. He refrained from setting his confidence points this week, surely just for me. Freezy is a hero, in my book.
I’m in ninth place.
JacksonVike is camped out in eight place. Hopefully, he is not camping in the Loon Lake area of his whereabouts or the Mary Jane witch might get him.
NoDakRube’s perfect week enabled him to climb into seventh place. He’s a mover and a shaker. Everyone has their eye on him now. With peak performance comes higher expectations.
BowBunch, I’d rather be fishing, DE Viking and Kirk is still good are clumped together in third through sixth place. Only seven points separate them from top to bottom. That is a heated battle on par with Randall Cobb vs. Larry Holmes.
Surly Viking slipped a notch but is comfortably in second place. He likely finds Freezy’s lake home a nice place to stretch his legs and do some grilling.
Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold moves back into the top spot. He is the first player to crack the 500-point barrier. Don’t be jealous. Okay, be a little jealous…
We got a whopping FIVE Iconoclast Picks this week. JacksonVike was the only one to take the Saints over the Buccaneers. Surly Viking was the only one to take Washington over Baltimore. Bowbunch was the only one to take the Raiders over the Steelers. DE Viking was the only one to take the Panthers over the Falcons (never doubt, Kirk!). And Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold was the only one to take the Jets over the Bills.
We had to Genius Picks this week. Everyone did pretty well, actually.
Meanwhile, everyone got the Houston/NE, Philly/Browns and the Bengals/Giants games right. There were also no dog teams that burned everyone this week.
Overall, if we were betting men, Vegas would ban us for our win-picking prowess.

The only one I got wrong was Seattle & 49ers, I had one confidence point on it. I changed my pick to the Seahawks because they were at home. I’m a dumbass.
We use to camp there a lot. One summer our group, my brother and family, his wife’s uncle and family, and her uncle’s brother in law and family, camped there for the entire summer. We decided, since the gas prices were so high, we would just keep our campers at Loon Lake instead of going somewhere for a vacation. Every time one of the kids in the group would bring a friend with them, we would take them out to the cemetery. There would always be a group of adults that would say they were running to the store, and would go hide, and scare the kids.
My niece, who was older than the rest, one time got to be part of the group that went ahead. I was already up there before the early group arrived and was hiding in the tall grass. Once the main group scared all of the new kids, everyone was walking back, and I jumped out of the grass, and my niece ended up wetting herself. Good times.
Another time my daughter brought a friend, she ended up having nightmares for a month. I got yelled at by her mom. Still worth it.
I was only out there once, I think. I don’t really remember much because it was dark.
I should walk out there again this year before winter sets in. It would be fun. Maybe take the wife out to see the place that inspired a Megadeth song. She won’t care, but we could run down to Boji and get carrot cake from Goodies. Then she will go.
I’m going to put it on my itinerary.
I have had a lot of weird experiences with the place. Possibly coincidental, but a little to often to not be something.
The legend has it, if you jump over Mary Jane’s grave three times, you will die within a year. My BIL, his brother and a friend went out there in high school. His brother and friend jumped over the grave, but my BIL did not. Within a year his friend died of cancer, was not diagnosed before going out there, and his brother hung himself, which was weird because he basically had the world in his hands.
Reminds me of Candyman.
Another time, I was with a group of friends, going out there to meet up with my cousins, who were camping out there. I was in the back seat of my friends Camaro, and we were driving through the campground. I said “hey, did you see those three girls hiding behind that tree.” Obviously I could not see anything, since it was night and I’m in the backseat of a Camaro.
We pull up next to the tree and there were 3 girls standing behind it. I got a shiver down my spine.
There is a group, that is working on the restoration of the cemetery. I guess it is pretty nice, I haven’t been out there in years.
I had to look up the Loon Lake Cemetry legend….interesting.
Some dude came to the area and made a little movie a few years ago. I didn’t know about any of that, though. Pretty low budget, I guess.
Loon Lake (2019) was the name of the film. Looks like the whole thing is on YouTube now.
David Ellefson formerly from Megadeath was there for it as well.
Jackson also has another supernatural claim to fame. One of the priests, Walter Halloran, that was present for the exorcism that The Exorcist film was based on was from Jackson originally.
It’s sad that if it weren’t for Rick Vice dropping out, Freezy doing Freezy things, and Lil Fishing missing his picks, we would be in 9th and 10th place.

Watching the Jets the last two weeks, they sure get their share of penalties. Not like the NFL has their chose ones. There was a PI and the ball was 10 yards out of bounds.
Haha that is hilarious. He has been the beneficiary of hundreds (yes, literally hundreds) of bad or fake calls (and hundreds more missed offensive line holds) over his career, and he complains about a game. Guy has nothing to stand on. One so-called “bad” game and he loses it. Imagine if he was not babied his entire career.
He’s gotta learn – he ain’t no Packer anymore.
