Vikings @ Jaguars game stats, courtesy of Vikings.com.
I’ll provide a post-game wrap-up below, and feel free to use this as your Sunday game thread for the rest of the day. Around the rest of the league this morning, the Panthers pulled off a surprise win, the Bears looked horrible, the Swifters almost lost their first game, and the Falcons fell to the lowly *aints. The rest of the day should be a blast, hope to see you in the comments!
‘Round Here
A couple pictures from the deer hunt yesterday, we had a blast. Kiddo got to go on his first hunt (didn’t hunt, & we met a 14-year old who got a monster buck on his first hunt. Really cool.

Vikings @ Jaguars
We went into this game hoping that the Vikings defense wouldn’t drop the ball against backup QB Mac Jones, and there were concerns aplenty about the Vikings’ new long snapper and kicker. Well, the defense was lights-out along with the kicking unit, but Darnold looked like absolute dog doo-doo for much of the game.
Offense
LOL. Yeah, Sam Darnold was really off today. He threw some horrific interceptions, 2 or 3 of them in the red zone (I can’t remember if the first one was in the red zone. If not, it was close). He missed some wide open throws, made some poor decisions (an INT in the end zone on first down for one), and only seemed to be able to connect on short throws. This was against a defense that ranked 31st in the league in passing yards allowed.
It wasn’t all bad for the offense. The offense moved the ball, and did put together some nice drives that ate up the clock. Darnold made some nice throws to extend drives, and made some nice plays on the ground in order to help the team. However, they were unable to score points, and Sam Darnold kept giving the ball to the opposing team. The play calling was questionable at times as well.
Defense
The defense gave up a TD drive on the second drive of the game. After that, they stifled the Jaguars offense and did not allow another point for the rest of the game. The defense and the kicker won this game. Sam Darnold should buy a steak dinner for the entire defense and the FG kicking unit.
Summary
The Vikings defense were the stars on the field today, with a nod to the kicker as well, as he came in and was perfect on the day. I wonder if Sam Darnold is injured, because he did not look good out there. In the end, the team did enough to win, and they escaped with a 12-7 win (sounds like the score to a Twins game). The Vikings are now 7-2 on the year and are sitting pretty in the NFC. SKOL!!!!!!!!
Boo!,
Texans shut out in the 2nd half.
Just proves that the more I want it the less the chance it happens.
#sad
Texans up 23-7 at the half.
Goff is taking a beating, no sacks but has pressured and hit a ton,
3 Interceptions but one was last play of the half hail mary.
Halfway thru the 3rd and Goff just threw his 5th Int.
Stroud has two of his own.
I’m not sure the Texans are playing tonight. Since I’ve turned on the game, all I’ve heard is the announcers slobbering all over the Lions.
No doubt
That is why I have the game on but sounds off.
On a positive note I got a doe to add to the freezer this weekend and my buddy got a little whitey buck because his boy set his gun down thinking it was a doe. Didn’t find the elk though. They were further in than we could convince the kids to go
Me more Jelly.
That reminds me I need to buy my deer license
I hope the Texans punch the Lions in the mouth tonight.
Looking good early.
Texans up 10-0 after 1 qtr.

Zimmer’s defense getting their ass kicked, McCarthy’s offense getting its ass kicked too.
It’s ugly in Dallas.
Horrific. They had something like 140 total yards.
Whomever took the Vikings at 6.5 wins for the season is officially a winner.
Yet it sure seems like if they only win 7 games this year it will feel like a horrible thing.
That would be me.
Also have J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets!!!
under 9.5 and they are 3-7.
Good Gif is good.
It’s nice to play a really bad game and still squeeze out a win. 7-2 looks really nice to me and not at all what I expected before the season.
Skol Vikes!
Sometimes you play well – really well – and lose. Sometimes not so well, and you win.
We won. we’re 7 and 2 and still right in the thick of things.
We are. Our defense came through, and so did the kicker. We got the W. All that matters in the end.
Denver had a 35 yard field goal at the end of the game against the Chiefs for the win, but it was blocked. Chiefs win.
Poor ButtHoleFace.
Congrats on the bucks!
Woooo boy. Darnold better get it together. We won’t be playing bad teams forever.
Defense is good.
One silver lining: we’ve been the obvious better team in the last two games.
Darnold looked atrocious today when it mattered, hope he can get his act together. Won’t win many more games when our QB keeps playing like today.
Going to be a Texan fan now.
Maybe even the Cow Pies if I can keep my stomach under control.
Only got to see the last half of the 4th quarter but listened to it driving back from the mountains. Did it look as ugly as it sounded?
Pretty much
Had to go for a walk after inception #3.
Cleared my head and came back in time to watch the defense get multiple takeaways for the win.
I missed most of the first quarter, the rest of the game was painful to watch, despite the W in the end. A really ugly game from the Vikes, Darnold especially, and the refs.
Uglier
It was hideous and darnold was just awful
Kicker missed 3 field goals, and they lost by three… so… yeah. Tough day at the office for the Falcons.
Lol. What was he thinking? 4 seconds when the RB got it.
4th and 4, throws for 1 yard.
Where have I seen that before.
Still, as bad as that play was, Kirko is playing much better than Sam the last few weeks.
I still take Darnold at 10 mil, but even that seems like too much money lately.
On that play the clock was running out with just a few seconds left in the game. Cousins had just completed a pass with no timeouts left on 3rd and 22 for 18 yards, to get them to that spot on the field. He had to snap the ball and immediately fire it to the receiver near the sideline, and hope he could get the 4 yards and get out of bounds before time expired.
Just so you have some context to the narrative.
The narrative/ joke is way more fun. Stop trying to ruin it with your context.
Lol
