I am a bit sad that the Bears fired their coach. It was fun to watch. Now we have to worry about a suddenly motivated team next time we play them. Thanksgiving is over, and I am still in a bit of a sugar coma. Too many desserts the last two days. Pecan pie is amazing and I just cannot say no. I normally ignore college football until the bowl games, but I had to watch the goofers since WI, and fortunately that one turned out well. The Vikings got no help on Thursday with FTP and the Lions both winning. Lions tried to Lion, but the Bears really wanted that loss.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another
Game in Buffalo should be fun with weather.

Duly noted, sir.
Pronghorn are gonna beat the Aggies, it looks like.
Yeah, all over but the cry’in.
Well if they can’t punch it in from the 1 with multiple attempts then it is not their day I guess.
Lookin grim for the Aggies.
Maybe there will pull a Bares and almost come back at the end and make it exciting for you?
One can only hope
My wife went to Texas A&M for her Bachelors, and the University of Texas for her Masters. She is an Aggie though, so tonight we’ll see if they can beat UT at Kyle Field.
I take it ya’ll be rooting for A&M.
Absolutely
Good luck, I am rooting for chaos and UT losing helps with that.

Live shot of my TV stand at the moment…
Michigan wins?
I sure didn’t see that coming.
The 3 teams I was keeping an eye on all won, South Carolina, Army and Texas Tech.
I better stop before I use up all my good Karma.
That was a surprise. I wonder how far Ohio State falls?
I figure there will be between #5-#10.
Enough to stay in the playoff picture.
Won’t be surprised if Ohio State has a new HC next year. Losing four in a row to Michigan is. not acceptable there.
With Harbaugh and JJ gone I figured the Buckeyes were a shoe-in this year.
So there was a big fight at the end of the Michigan-Ohio St game with pepper spray used?

I LOVED seeing OSU lose, and the announcer was ripping the Michigan players for trying to plant a flag midfield. OSU does that all the time. Between running up the score when they have a win locked up, and planting flags in other stadiums, the double standard is lame. Want them to not plant a flag? Win.
“THE, Ohio State University”. Buncha effing wimps when they lose.
😆
I lean Michigan for sure.
Place is dead. No need for a game thread.
Yep,
Always nice to have you scoff at the low number of posts with your first post of the day.
Turkey weekend, not surprising. I usually check in later in day. Hope we beat the Cards. Home game, need a W.
Midget wrestling on Sunday.
Can’t wait!
It was really late last night when the the GA/GA Tech game got over. That was the game that would never end. Eight overtimes.
Was hoping for the upset but it really was a pretty epic game.
Yeah, I was pulling for GT also but it was a fun watch. I like how college does their overtime. It was an exciting finish.
This is a fun weekend with all the rivalry games
Yup, couple of good ones right now. #8 Tennessee is tied and #2 Ohio state is down. Upsets are always fun when you don’t care about the outcome.
I’m pulling for Michigan, kinda kept an eye on their team last year because of JJ. Damn, buckeyes just tied it.
Tennessee just went ahead
Merry Post Thanksgiving Saturday everyone.
The Teacher put up the tree yesterday, or at least she started, got it set up and the lights on at least. It is a new tree to go with the new house, don’t know if she is doing ornaments this year or not. She wants it done her way so she is the one who does it.
Of the early collage games I am most interested in Army-UTSA but I will also keep my eye on South Carolina-Clemson and Texas Tech-West Virginia. Ohio St-Michigan should be a snoozer this year.
Oh and Pecan Pie is kind of gross, but you all do you. No Kink Shaming.
Amen, brother.
Proof positive that anything can be made editable with enough sugar.
Everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion.
Pecan Pie is completely addictive. Great sugar high.
It was bourbon pecan pie. I stood no chance at resisting.
Thankfully it is now gone, so I can get back to eating a bit healthier until Christmas.
Yes me too – just pumpkin pie for a few days now.
And you are correct, with the bourbon even more delightful.
Actually I had Pumpkin pie for breakfast this morning.
The Teacher won’t eat it, something about the texture, so it is on me to finish it before it gets too old. I have learned to be creative.
Well slice of pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream atop and a hot cup of fresh coffee would be hard to beat.
My wife made a maple brown butter cheesecake yesterday. MF’er stood 4 inches tall and was restaurant quality. We took it to my dad’s and I refused to bring home leftovers.
Arguably the biggest regret of my life.
That was a brutal game last night for Husker fans.
Huskers had that game but effed it up at the end.
That they did.
Yup. And yup.
The last 2 decades have been brutal. Would’ve been nice to beat Iowa, vanquish a rival and guarantee a winning season regardless of bowl outcome.
Saying we have a winning football team again, regardless of how far above mediocre it is, would really mean something to an incredibly loyal fan base
Team has a future provided the transfer portal doesn’t hit too hard. Good nucleus to build around.
Huskers problem all year has been closing out games. Bit them again. We had opportunities. Let them slip away.
We still beat Wisconsin – I’ll make that last all year long.
Before your time, but remember when Nebraska ruled the world.
I was born in ‘78 – and they ruled the world in the 90’s. Bowl loss after bowl loss in the 80’s (and early 90’s) by faster, meaner State of Florida teams. Then Osborne started recruiting speed, emphasizing it on defense. Ditched the 5/2 Monster for a 4/3 (originally Monte Kiffin’s baby and the prequel to the Tampa 2 – Kiffin wanted to run it under Devaney and Bourbon Bob favored the 5/2 as he felt it was better to stand up against the Wishbone, the predominant offense of that era)
Osborne went 60-3 his last 5 years at NU – with 3 national championships.
Remember 94 or 95 Nebraska went up against highly ranked Florida team (orange bowl maybe) and just destroyed them.
95…. 94 we beat Miami 24-17. That defense had Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis and a young Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on it. Huskers won on the strength of 2 FB option traps out of the I formation. Canes weren’t ready for our conditioning and were sucking wind.
The 95 championship we beat the Steve Spurrier Fun n Gun offense with Danny Wuerfel. 62-24. Tommie Frazier (who should’ve won the Heisman that year) busted a legendary 75 yard TD run down the sideline where 8 of 9 Gators on the field put a hand him.
‘8 of 9 Gators on the field put a hand him’
Well I guess since there were not 11 Gators on the field it explains why he could pull off that long run.
Yep. Love Pecan Pie with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
