I hear the Vikings cut Myles Gaskin to make room for Will Reichard and Anrew Depaola as they return from IR. No word on when those two will hit the field again
Vikings News
From Vikings.com, the Vikings are holding strong in the power rankings after their fifth-straight victory.
Jordan Addison has pled not guilty to DUI charges, according to the Brainerd Dispatch. Addison was charges with DUI in July. Whenever I hear Brainerd, I think of the movie Fargo.

NFL News
At NFL.com, Dak Prescott backs HC Mike McCarthy as HC in 2025 saying that the coach ‘deserves another contract’. That’s funny, a guy who got a contract he didn’t deserve saying that another guy deserves a contract.
The Texans Al-Shaair has been suspended for 3 games for the hit that knocked Trevor Lawrence out of Sunday’s game, per ESPN.

This made me chuckle.

That where you lost your wallet? Seeing a musical?
File this under “Let’s all feel sorry for Nodak”
Lost my wallet yesterday….I will never see it again…too much cash in it, whoever found it likely took the cash and through the wallet.
What a hassle! For now I have frozen all of the credit cards, had to go get a new drivers license, got a new HSA debit card from the bank, got some new debit cards from our credit union for our big Minneapolis Trip this weekend (luckly we never had debit cards so no worries there)…It’s just been a real fun day.
Oh well, 1st world problem – lost my wallet with $500 cash in it…life goes on, no one is dying.
That blows. Wallets can sometimes up and walk away.
True story, Thanksgiving day I was driving down a gravel road, going to my brother’s house. About a half mile from his place, I see something on the road.
That looked like a wallet…
No, no way.
Still, it nagged on me, so I stopped the car, put it in reverse and backed up until I was next to what was, indeed, a wallet, just sitting there in the middle of a gravel road in the middle of nowhere.
I pick it up and open it.
It is my brother’s wallet.
What the heck?
I get to his house.
Did you lose your wallet?
No.
I then pull his wallet out of my pocket and give it to him.
Where did you get that?
It was lying in the middle of the road about half a mile from here…
Oh yeah, I did set it on the side of pickup bed the other day…
did you have the cash for your trip to minnesota? otherwise WHY DID YOU HAVE SO MUCH CASH ON YOU, YOU DRUG DEALER YOU
Maybe he was just donating to Charity. Single moms need to eat too.
I had so much cash because I thought I might need it during the Arizona vacation we went on during thanksgiving…I thought I might need about 200 dollars to pay for golf since I thought the Host might have put it all on his credit card, but he did not..so I used my card for that.
We were supposed to go to the Casino with my one of the family but that never materialized, I had brought 200 dollars along for that…
I don’t usually carry 500 in my wallet – this was unfortunate.
That sucks.
$500 cash in your wallet??
Lost my wallet at a theatre once, had my Work ID in it as well. Prison required reporting lost IDs ASAP, it was a mess.
Didn’t notice until we got home that evening.
The next day the theatre manager found it wedged between two seats once we told her where we were sitting.
She said that is happened fairly regularly there as the space between the seats was good at hiding things.
Since then I have been very careful about keeping my wallet in my front pocket so I always know where it is.
I feel for you, losing a wallet sucks.
If looks could kill, I would be dead 100 times, one for each of the times I’ve asked my wife “have you seen my wallet”?
Only time I have actually lost my wallet was during the summer while I was in college…my parents had given my $100 spending cash (two $50’s) for the week while they headed to the Okanagan for vacation. I was starting back at the U the following Wednesday, so had planned to fly out the end of my last week of summer work and then ride back with them, get dropped off in Edmonton on the way back through, etc…
First evening of freedom I go down to the rec centre, change into shorts and a shirt, put my stuff in an open locker just like every day that summer. Difference was that was the only time I ever had any cash in my wallet. Came back in, changed into swim trunks, did a four mile swim, come back and the locker is wide open, wallet gone.
The hassle of getting my driver’s license was profound. Thank goodness I had no credit cards. Also I can only imagine trying to board a plane for the flight from Edmonton to Kelowna these days with just a temporary paper ID.
I still fantasize of catching the dick that stole my wallet (least he could have done was leave the wallet behind or tossed it in the trash at the centre) and slowly burning him alive.
How many gummies could I have purchased for 500 dollars?
Hard to say – edibles don’t touch an everyday smoker like myself. $500 is about 2.5 ounces of some really good smoke though.
in regards to POINTS….the Wild are the best team in the NHL….
can’t wait for their impending collapse.
You know it.
MN sports at it’s finest.
I assume the Vikings will as well.
I will start following if/when they are still ‘up there’ near playoff time.
Caveat, I don’t expect to have a reason to follow the Wild.
They’ve looked pretty good and seem to have more grit and fight than previous years. The younguns are looking good too. Kaprizov is obvious but Boldy and Faber have really grown.
Rossi as well, dude has matured into a valuable player. Wild look really good so far, Kaprisov is playing MVP level right now.
Didn’t think about him. I’m impressed with the young talent they’ve brought together. A Stanley Cup to follow a Lombardi would be pretty sweet.
I have still mostly avoided the NHL since the North Stars abandoned me.
I have been social engineered by the Internet.
Some of you may have remembered how I posted a YouTube video of a Chinese girl who did a killer robot dance a few months ago.
The Internet has now decided I am obsessed with dancing Asian girls. Both YouTube and Facebook now recommend such videos to me with great frequency.
Of course, I clicked on a couple. You know, for science.
And now my YouTube and Facebook algorithms are deluging me with such things with the apparently notion that I have a dancing Asian girl fetish…
I mean, yeah, sort of, but the Internet doesn’t need to rub my nose in it. Yeesh.
‘dancing Asian girls’
Not the worst thing to be obsessed with.
I accidentally clicked on a ‘gay novel’ on Amazon, the preview gave no indication that it was central to the story, or any part of the story actually.
It looks months after that before Amazon moved on and stopped ‘recommending’ those to me.
I am very careful before clicking on any new recommendation now.
The Internet is always watching.
I had a coworker come in one day and talk about Alien Gear brand pistol holsters.
Then I started getting ads for them on my feeds almost immediately.
I have to be careful with going down any rabbit holes like that. I stick to war games and flying sims. Since my microsoft accounts are linked across multiple devices the last thing I want is my grandkids surfing apps on one of our smart TVs and coming across YT links to dancing Asian girls. Russian vs American naval fleet simulation = OK.
Use Rumble instead of CommieTube
That sounds suspiciously like Grindr
War games and flying sims…
You are probably on an FBI list!
Then again, we all probably are…
Yes you are.
Survived the meeting.
Now I can get back to being unproductive like an American!
Welcome back!
Now I can follow up on the chemical warfare conversation.
Your response is interesting. I was wondering if chemical weapons have much tactical value anymore. Have not heard anything about them in a long time.
If I can chime in….
Since everything is a chemical, it’s all technically chemical weapons.
Nuclear, chemical, biological…..
They are all part of the Periodic Table of Elements.
Heh heh
I recently read a novel about the outbreak of nuclear war based on escalating tensions between North and South Korea during an attempted coup in the North leading to the deployment of chemical weapons against Seoul. I see it as having little tactical usage but definitely would have impact against civilian population.
The key is something you could get into the water supply (Batman). An airborne attack is typically going to dissipate rather rapidly unless it spreads through respiratory methods, hmmmm.
I think you could do as much or more damage through cyber warfare though too. Imagine getting access to a refinery (like somebody not too long ago got control of a water treatment plant) and disabling certain systems. A small refinery could have a 5-10 mile kill radius if you killed the right systems. No idea what the impact of a large refinery like those in Houston, Louisiana, etc would have.
Against civilians, unprepared, unequipped it could cause massive casualties. But then again the international backlash would be server. Of course some bad actors wouldn’t care.
It could definitely panic people, I reckon.
I read a novel about the outbreak of World War III in junior high. For whatever reason, my junior high library in podunk Minnesota had an absolutely INCREDIBLE library.
Found so many hidden gems in that place that should not have been in a junior high library. No idea how they got there. A librarian must have got them donated from some wacky donor.
That book haunted me for years. Finally was able to track it down once the Internet was invented and obtain a copy.
I’d have to look at it to remember the author, though. It was really hard to Google because there were so many other books with similar titles. Took a lot of page sifting to locate the right one.
I think that they are more effective in a static, traditional war setting. Since we don’t have much of those anymore (Ukraine) it has reduced their use.
I used to know a lot about Mustard Gas in World War I from story research but I have since forgotten all of it it.
I do remember guys urinating on a handkerchief to use as a mask against mustard gas in an emergency, though.
The ammonia helped a bit, I think…
Mustard is nasty. It is very persistent and if you breath it in you get blisters in/on your lungs.
A very bad way to go.
Freaking genius right here.
Well in the sense, neither of them can be reversed, it’s right. Oh wait, never mind.
Prime example of Woke Logic right there.
Now she did say in her confirmation hearings that she could not define the difference between a man and a women.
Well, this person is not a biologist.
It does make you wonder that if she can’t define a man or a woman how a sex change is even possible. Which sex to which sex??
A DEI hire – what do you expect.
File this under ‘Most Stupid Trade Proposals’.
Vikings ‘trade’ KOC to the Bares for draft picks.
https://thevikingage.com/franchise-altering-minnesota-vikings-trade-idea-suggested-help-nfc-north-rival
I seen that earlier too, and laughed. Like we would trade our coach to a division rival. Kwesi would never make a trade to a division rival.
NFL Hall Of Fame snub Chuck Foreman and Jim Marshall, again.
https://thevikingage.com/multiple-minnesota-vikings-legends-snubbed–pro-football-hall-of-fame-once-again
Damn it…
Agree.
Couple of bums, never heard of them.
Had a good box full of Apples that I had from my two trees I was saving in my garage, started the process of making Apple wine with them in my buddies garage last night. Should turn out well, I sampled the juice when we were pressing, and holy shit that was delicious.
You could call it Porch Apple since you live on the Porch, according to some.
If we go big and brand our own wine, I will call it that for sure. With a picture of happy Vikings fans on the porch drinking the wine and a couple dark silhouettes in the house watching a TV with a game on a #8 being sacked.
I’m not sure that’s what it would be…..
Awesome!! I corked up 40 bottles last night from my little grape patch. I have 3 different batches of apple clearing out, plus a strawberry-rhubarb, and some plum.
Ooo sounds fantastic. Got a bottle of Strawberry Rhubarb schnapps in my fridge. Its pretty sweet but good mixed with a vodka and some soda.
How long you been making your own? Made anything you’re super proud of?
I made a batch of red raspberry last year that I would have put a $20 sticker on if it were in stores. I’m finally making some decent wines after 10 years
First try actually. My buddy is a bigger garage and the equipment since he brews his own beer (or use to before 2 kids) so I just brought my Apples over and he broke down the process to me and I helped out and took notes. Wine is way easier than beer which iv helped him with before. Iv made home made aged egg nog thats about it haha.
Last night
Vikings clinch a playoff birth with a win and losses by the Cardinals and Rams.
berth
LOL….
Good catch!
Had lots of fun last night.
Old computer (almost 11 years) now struggles to display YouTube videos. So I have switched to watching them on the new computer. The videos on the new one are interrupted by ads multiple times, the old one only has 1 at the beginning.
So I started a journey to find out how to block ads from inside the video. Lots of google searches on ad blocking, tutorials on ‘extensions’, searching both the new and old computers ‘settings’ to see the difference.
After 2.5 hours of exploring the ‘rabbit hole’ of Apple/Safari/iMac underbelly I can now claim success, The new computer is ad free even from those imbedded in video’s.
#nojinx
What sort of ad blocker did you settle on?
AdGuard for Safari.
Found this tutorial that made it almost idiot proof.
Ublock origin should be used if you use Chrome/Firefox. Unsure if they have it for Safari but im not an Apple guy
I just bought a SP11 during Black Friday deals on the cheap, to replace my old reliable SP3. It is truly remarkable how quickly it powers up. Like one second to go time. The old SP3 after turning on the power gave me time to drink a cup of coffee, find a cure for gout, comb my pubic hair, dust the baseboards, etc…
I got a ‘off brand’ keyboard for the new computer as the one that came with it is tiny. An upgraded keyboard from Apple was too pricy.
But the computer every 4 days or so will not pair with the keyboard even with a wired connection and have have to reboot the computer. And since the keyboard is no longer paired I have to do it the old fashioned way, with the power button.
Frustrating First World Problem.
The problem is very simple to diagnose. You should not have purchased an Apple computer
Considering that Apple is the only brand of computer I have ever owned (due to discount/IT help since brother worked there) then I would have had to learn how to speak and work with a PC.
Buying Apple seemed much easier.
That is what I was going to say!!!
About to enter a company meeting where I actually have to talk instead of sitting in the background and daydreaming about climbing into the vents and battling terrorist/bank robbers…
Yippi-kay-yah, Mister Falcon!
Worst TV over dub ever.
Nope. Poltergeist.
The original line:
’Your mother sucks c*** for a living….’
The dubbed line:
’Your mother sells socks for a living….’
The SNL version:
‘Your mother sews socks that smell……’
Richard Pryor was the guest – 1975
I have one that I have to talk in front of all of my companies plant managers in North America, tomorrow.
Picture then all in their underwear to keep from being intimidated.
It should be easy with any decent looking ladies as that should be second nature to any red-blooded male.
*sorry/not sorry for assuming gender*
I’ll come and crash it and mingle with them afterward and say, “Damn…that is the best speaker I have ever heard. That guy really knows his stuff!”
Luckily it is over Teams, so that takes some pressure off, but it is for a competition where the winner has a chance to be in the global competition. Unfortunately, due to the Biden booming economy, we are not able to travel to the locations. Otherwise it would be a paid trip to Kansas, and if we win a trip to Europe.
Missing out on a free trip to Kansas has to be disappointing.
Yeah, it would be a shame to win and miss out on the trip to Germany though.
You must work at AGCO, I assume?
It’s possible.
Haha fair enough. I know about a dozen people that work there. Now I’ve narrowed you down to like 1,000 people! 😉
You can do it!
I have faith in you.
I am actually the expert in the room today, so even if I make stuff up, no one will know. They will just nod along to avoid looking dumb.
When I taught Chemical Defense in the Army it was like that for me.
Once gave a class to a Battalions Officers on the Soviet Chemical Threat and one guy came up after the class and handed me a list of what he believed to be ‘logical fallacies’ in my presentation.
At first I was upset/insulted but after perusing his list I realized he had several points so I adjusted my class for the group. If was mostly about phrasing on conclusions, easy to fix.
One doesn’t hear a lot about chemical warfare these days. Seems one mostly hears about drones and hi-tech aircraft and nuclear.
What is the latest scuttlebutt on chemical warfare? Has it been advancing too or has it stagnated?
It has died down since the gulf war.
Bashar Al-Assad has used them on his rebels but not a lot of news about it coming out of the region.
Most counties have reduced/stopped it’s use and now it is about saber rattling about nukes, Iran/Russia. Don’t imagine either country can think they will win a war involving those despite how much damage it would cause worldwide.
I tend to think/hope it is more about threat/negotiations.
It pretty much shut the entire world down a couple of years ago.
Are you referring to Covid?
That would fall under Biological.
The B of NBC, Nuke Biological, Chemical.
Touche, but yes, that is what I was referring to.
Biologicals are hard to control hence their limited use,
But we all experienced the damage that they can cause.
One of the best NBC classes I went to the instructor looked at us said I see you all figured out how to put your shirt and pants on today so maybe we can just skip ahead to the mask. Love it when common sense takes over
Gave a class to my HQs company on how to exchange MOPP in a Chemical Environment. I tried to make it entertaining and educational (no easy task with NBC). I think I succeeded when the soldiers got upset when the Bn Cdr wanted to end the 4hr exercise early. He said that had never happened to him before.
They gave me a ‘Attaboy’ award for it which made little sense since training is what NCOs should be doing as a matter of routine.
My take on the upcoming game can be summed up in a very simple quiz.
Does Kurt spaz out in high-pressure games? Y N
Is this going to be a high-pressure game for Kurt? Y N
Should we expect anything different from Kurt? Y N
I am afraid this is a Kirk proves the naysayers wrong kind of game. Hopefully he does his usual of putting up big numbers, but the rest of the team loses it for him.
He’s never proved the Naysayers wrong. He has a fluke month of hand holding that works out and thats in October. This is December. Kirks cooked. No more negative vibes!
YOU LIKE THAT!?!
No one likes that.
Unfortunately KC throws in outliers occasionally and the Vikings are often the recipient of ‘outlier’ games to their detriment.
“I want to retire a Falcon…..”
Looks like DePaolo will be back this weekend.
McQuaid did a decent job filling in, but I noticed a lot of his snaps were high. I was giving Wright a lot of credit for getting those snaps down in time to get the kicks off.
I need to know about Will the Kill. My fantasy team needs to know.
Who’s your favorite Wednesday?

That is the one I grew up watching and a happy, heathy child aways makes me smile.
