VIKINGS NEWS – The Vikings downed the Packers which officially makes next week’s Lions game for the NFC North and the NFC #1 seed.

The NFL has announced the week 18 schedule and the Vikings vs Lions will be the Sunday night game.

I know all the techie people are probably gone for the day, but when I left on vacation, Chrome was working fine. Today I logged on and web pages are coming up with parts missing or completely unformatted. If I refresh the page, it fixes the issue, however, that is not a great solution because if I refresh this page, I lose all of the purple for the comments that I have not read. Ideas? Chrome is up-to-date and Windows is up-to-date.
Clear all of your cache and cookies/browsing data in chrome. Adjust the range to All time and choose to keep your saved passwords. Should fix it. Also get an an ad blocker.
I use AdGuard for the ad blocker. It worked well on my old computer. Earlier today I cleared the cache. I did not clear cookies/browsing data.
When I looked again, I only cleared cache for the last hour. I tried again using all time.

Played 9 holes of golf today. Almost eagled the par four 350 yard fourth hole. Hit my drive to about a foot from the 150 marker, then hit a hybrid to about 2 inches. Over a marsh.
Birdied the 9th with an approach to about 8 feet too!
That was one of the purest shots I’ve ever hit. Never left the flag, high and straight. Got some applause from the gallery too. Grin.
Loved golf when i played. early it was 2 good shots out 5, then 2 out of ten, then 2 out of 30, then…well you know.
I do know. This was an “on” day for me. Shot 35 on a par 32 (4 par threes and no par 5’s).
I tapered off on a long par 3. Irons, couldn’t hit a driver to save my ass.

We spent Christmas in St Charles (a suburb of St Louis) with family and then spent a couple of days in Kentucky. It was cloudy and gloomy the whole time, but at least it was warmer. One of they days in Kentucky it hit 60 degrees.
I got out pheasant hunting four days last week. My chocos were very sad to see me leaving for work this morning.
14-2 seems like a dream. I will take it. We were driving home yesterday so I was listening to the game on SiriusXM. PA was having a great time. Pete B was melting down about how bad the refs were.

I’ve been doing a thought experiment with some vike’s games this year. I am trying to guess or predict how many points the vikes need to score to win the game. Not necessarily predicting the score. I am not very good this year. Anyhow how many points will the vikes have to score to beat Detroit? 35? 40? Average NFL game has about 11 OFF possessions. Can D hold lions to 28 and O puts up 31?

Their Defense is banged up badly so we should be able to get there if we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot too often.
Nothing much wrong with their offense and since they are home 40+ feels about right.
I’ll guess 28. I think we let the Loins have 5 coring drives (3TD 2FG) assuming no turnovers from the offense.
This might be a bit conservative. It’ll be interesting to see the over/under. Will it be 55.5 or higher? Probably. with their banged up defense we could score a lot.

Great win yesterday to get the sweep of FTP – that alone is a successful season in my book. But this squad is meant for more. So much more.
KOC is Coach Of The Year – Nobody else gets this out of a top 5 pick on his 4th team. This doesn’t happen.
Addison/Jets, Jets/Addison – no matter how you say it, it’s the best WR duo in the league. Nice to see Nailor make good on his major fuck-up in the first FTP game.
Hockenson healthy and it shows. He’s sneaky smooth and been great with contested catches/catches in traffic. Expecting a monster game from him Sunday night – I think he’ll be more than motivated. The man that looks like The Logo eats on Sunday.
I think the whole offense does. It’s on the road, sure. Hostile environment. Been there, done that. No tougher place to play than in Seattle – that ghost has been exorcised. Detroit does not have a good defense. Beat up, can’t cover ‘happy birthday’ with a backup band.
Can we stop them? I think so. No 1-2 punch with Montgomery out. B-Flo played a lot of tight-man coverage against FTP that left Love with nowhere to throw the ball several times, allowing us to get home and force incompletions and saaaaaacks! I think we see more of this. Let Detroit block up – with Van Ginkel & Greenard’s motors as well as the way Jalen Redmond is playing I like our chances of getting home the same way we did against FTP.
Still waiting on the signature Hitman game – there’s one every year where he fills up the box score (Carolina last year). Be a great way to end what’s likely his last regular season game as a Viking.

In 2009, I believed. Team crashed and it hurt (FTS!). Same with the 98 team (
In 2017 I never believed, and I hated being correct about Case Keenum. Gave us some fun games, but I really believed the bottom would drop, and it did.
I bought in at the start of 2018 since it felt we were a QB away, but the Dork ruined my faith in this team until they finally let him walk this season.
This season feels different. I expect the team to win. Even this Sunday, on the road, against a very good team with a great offense, I still expect the Vikings to find a way to win.
I feel the team is “playing with house money” and they are good enough to beat anyone, either home or on the road.
I really hope they get the #1 seed, since the bye and hosting playoff games are both huge benefits. Either way, this has been the most fun for me since 2009/1998.

Yeah, they invested a lot into this team and deserve a lot of credit. They have also been smart enough to stay back and let football people make football decisions. Owners that get themselves too involved are why certain teams are perpetual trash.

Perhaps this is obvious but our offensive line deserves five stars for their effort yesterday. Comparing the time Sam had to throw versus Love was like night and day. Can’t recall our pass blocking ever being better.
Sam also did a very good job of feeling pressure and moving away from it.
Seems he was constantly moving and extending the play, it almost got routine.

Looks like the Vikings win yesterday dropped the Packers to the 7 seed. FTP!!!

Well sure. As it sits now the Packers will have to go to Philly for the first round of the playoffs. The only way they will travel to Tampa or LA is if they beat the Bears and the Commies lose to the Cowgirls.
It will be nice to have one of those teams eliminated before we even have to play a game.

My takeaways…
Reichard is picking the wrong time of year to miss not one not two but three FGs. But for a phantom defensive offsides penalty we almost had another disastrous last two minutes of the first half.
Right when you are thinking Vikings just need to ice this game with a TD to make it 27-3, just don’t give up the ball…
I think KOC and Flores get off on these nail biter single score victories.
First time I have heard Brady doing color. I thought he did a good job, kept me engaged in the broadcast/announcers. It helps that I have Brady’s likeness tattooed on my torso
They got a little too caught up on certain players at times. I think they went on and on for like 10 minutes about how great Josh Jacobs is. Other than that not terrible.
Had a blast watching football yesterday with some buddies. One was even a Packers fan but he was chill. Between Wills misses and the BS holding call on a JJ TD Vikes shoulda won by 25+. KOC Outcoached LaFlower all game. Period. This team will beat Detroit and get the 1 seed. And we will see what happens from there.
Also, was projected to win all 3 of my Fantasy chips, now I will be losing one of them for sure and unless Gibbs gets 30 pts tonight, will be losing a second. I hope Dan the Low IQ King Campbell plays his starters all game and feeds Gibbs the rock.
I was projected to win. I have Chase Brown and the guy I’m playing has Burrow. Brown going down on purpose and getting hurt on the 1 just so Burrow could sneak in the TD was a 12 point swing. Now I need Gibbs to outscore St. Brown by 25 tonight. I won’t be too mad if I lose though because the Vikings shutting Love down was a big reason for it and I’ll accept that.
Yeah I want real life Football Ws over Fantasy for sure. Just sucks, winning potentially $1200 in fantasy this year and now only winning like..maybe $500?

NFCS could have a 9-8 divisional and host. How this league rewards mediocrity boggles my mind.
I got a feeling this year is going to pressure the league to change it up. Maybe not next year, but a few years.
I disagree. I think the winner of the division deserves to host a playoff game. Winning the division is the first goal of each team each season. It does suck for the NFC North when you have 3 very good teams, and then you have the NFC South, where that is obviously not the case.
Still need to reward the division champs, even in a shit division.
I’m fine giving the division winners a playoff spot, but then the bracket should be seeded on record. You still reward the division winner by giving them a playoff spot potentially over somebody with a better record, but give the home games to the team with the better record.
The flip side of this, is when teams like the Brady Patriots get to play in a shit division year after year, and get rewarded for having 4 or more games that could be considered a bye week since the competition was shit for so long.
You can only play the teams on your schedule and if the team is not actually good and only propped up by a shitty division, then they will lose non-division games like the NFCS this year and therefore they should not be rewarded a home playoff game.
The Buccaneers have won 5 non-division games this year. Commies week 1, Lions week 2, Philly week 4, Giants week 12, Raiders week 14.
