Another good college football game last night. I thought Texas had all the momentum when they tied the game at 14. I am not, nor have I ever been, and Ohio State football fan, but they played well last night. I expect a good championship game. This also shows why the playoff change was needed. Neither team in the championship was in the top 4, and would not have been in the running last season. This year in the NFL, the Vikings are going on the road on the quest for their first Super Bowl win. It could happen, dammit!

Two games today, and three tomorrow. I see the home team losing a few of these games. The Vikings get the Rams in AZ, and I hope that there is some purple in the stands. I will watch the Manning-cast vs the normal broadcast. It gives me some perspective I sometimes would not see, and also something to listen to vs me just yelling at the TV. For some reason, watching two good QBs watch football is a lot more fun than listening to whomever the network has doing commentary.

Redskins win with a field goal kicker who almost missed from 37 yards!
Knew he was scared when he played with his hair a dozen times before he put his helmet on, but he managed to get it thru.

Redskins made a good stop, and held the Bucs to a field goal. 20 – 20 with 4:41 to go. Need a nice 4 and half minute scoring drive here.

3rd time’s a charm. 4th and goal again, and the Redskins go for it, and finally score. Take the lead 20 – 17 after Baker Mayfield fumbled deep in Redskins territory.
Bucs take the lead 17 – 13 with a TD. That 4th down decision on the first drive to pass up a field goal, looming larger now. Always take the points in the playoffs.
So if the Redskins get to fourth and goal late in the game they should take the FG.

I hope folks watching these playoff games start to see that even the best QB’s can have bad games. We saw Herbert have maybe THE worst game of his career, because the Houston defense just pulverized him, and his receivers dropped many passes. Both QB’s in this game are struggling too. Just because a QB has a bad outing, doesn’t mean he sucks. Sometimes the defense wins.
I’m not worried about Darnold. He’ll bounce back.
Have to say, the Packers are getting outplayed, but still only down 10 points.
