Conference Championships
Well, we all probably knew, or at least expected, the outcomes of the Conference Championship games. The Eagles will face the Chiefs in what will be one of the most unwatchable Super Bowls in history. I’m sure it will set all kinds of viewership records, but I suspect that the core base NFL fans will likely watch at the lowest rate ever. For myself, I WILL be ice fishing that day. All day.

Minnesota Vikings Discussion
I see Sam Darnold was selected as comeback player of the year, which is a much deserved award, regardless of the last two games of the season. Dude proved to the world that he isn’t a bust, and has earned that coveted big second contract. That contract will not be with the Vikings, but he will get a big contract after his amazing performance for the Vikings in the 2024 season. Hey, many thanks to Sam for making the 2024 season worth watching, because let’s be honest, none of us expected 14-3. Many of us, and most of the experts, were expecting the Vikings to finish below .500, and many expected us to compete for the cellar of the NFC North. I’m more optimistic than a happy drunk on New Year’s Eve, and even I didn’t expect the Vikings to have the season they had. Congrats to Sam Darnold for winning this much deserved award that he didn’t even technically qualify for. I hope all the best for him in the future, unless he’s playing the Vikings.
Vikings Offseason Discussion
Since the season is over, I think the thing we should most watch for prior to the draft will be the moves that the Vikings will make to procure more draft picks. I don’t think the Vikings will enter the draft with only three picks, and that’s all they have right now. They have a first round pick, and two fifth round picks. I expect the front office will do some wheeling and dealing, so that will be what I am eagerly anticipating to see as draft day nears.
Vikings News
From Vikings.com, Sam Darnold has been selected as comeback player of the year by the PWFA.
Also, they look at how Dallas Turner developed behind the amazing talent of Van Ginkel and Greenard. I think many fans over-react to Turner not starting, but when you look at the two Pro Bowl players who played every game this season, it makes sense. You don’t draft for immediate need, you draft for the future, and I believe that Dallas Turner is going to be an elite talent in the NFL in the coming years.
NFL News
CBS Sports looks at the timeline of how the Jaguars hired Liam Coen as their new head coach. I get why Bucs fans are a bit irked about this one, they have a bit of a legit gripe, unlike Lions fans who are mad that a guy took an offer for a “better” job elsewhere.
Final score and highlights from yesterday, courtesy of CBS Sports. Blech.

I was trying to show my son why you can’t trust everything you see on the internet, and I found this, which we both laughed at hysterically. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

This news gives me a genuine existential crisis….
Maybe we are meaningless specks of dust in an indifferent universe…
How about cut him ???
Is he below average, or average?
Ingram lost his starting job to Dalton Risner ahead of the Week 10 matchup with the Colts, and didn’t play a single offensive snap the rest of the year.
Think he’s expendable, and maybe trade bait.
Was he part of that horrible 2022 draft? If so he’s only got one more year left on his contract and probably not much money. I’d keep him as a backup and say goodbye after this season.
If he has trade value (dunno) trade him while you can get something for him. If you hold on to him all season, he walks away and you get nothing in return.
Just my opinion, of course.
McCarthy not progressing.
This is a very good read, explaining the 14th Amendment, and how (and why) it came to be.
https://townhall.com/columnists/allenwest/2025/01/27/an-american-black-mans-interpretation-of-the-14th-amendment-n2651175
It is interesting. I hadn’t realized this was done as a path to citizenship for freed slaves. Hadn’t realized this was the amendment (law) that allowed a baby born to a foreigner visiting the country to be a citizen.
That’s hilarious. They leave California, get to the next place and realize it’s not California, and they hate it.
That’s why we make sure everybody knows that our weather sucks, then they never bother moving here
Weather sucks, no trees, wind, why would anybody choose to live there?
That’s basically what we tell everyone. Our governor seems to think it’s a good idea to attract people here, we the people disagree.
Keep it crappy there. You’re our moat to the Minnesotans and cheeseheads. They get half way across ND and give up and go home.
I wish they’d flee Montana.
My in-laws feel the same way
Isn’t Austin the most liberal city in Texas.
Austin and Houston are competing for that title.
We considered Texas.
Heat/Humidity were too much.
Too close to the southern border.
Houston/Austin trying to drag Texas toward ‘Purple State’ status.
But there is also a lot to like about Texas as well.
At the conference, one of the presenters had mentioned that there was an ED physician in the crowd. Notable, as I do not recall ever encountering an emergency medicine physician at a radiology conference.
I try and make a point of sitting at different tables every morning as we enjoy our included breakfast of Hawaiian dishes at 6:30 am as the sun rises and we gaze upon the breaking surf and breaching humpbacks only a couple of hundred yards away (such hardships I endure for my patients). You can guess where this is going, I am sitting next to a young chatty cathy who is going on about her chain mail and suits of armor collection and all the beautiful places she and her recently married husband have been. She mentioned that she was having trouble finding work which is odd considering that the market is wide open in rads ATM. She then mentioned that she lived in the East Bay region of Cali which was even odder as the UCSF faculty had mentioned they are working harder and harder and having difficulty recruiting as so many grads are doing teleradiology. So, of course, she was the ED physician. It is notable that residency training wraps up in late June of every calendar year. Travelling the world, can’t find work, living in East Bay (so much more affordable than West Bay), making chain mail. Good grief.
Isn’t that weird how our highest paid players go to another team and then either can’t secure a starting job or lose their starting job?
Delvin was one of the highest paid running back here, he left and never could secure the starting gig at the Jets, now he’s selling popcorn in the instructional league, same with Kirk.
Dalvin was featured by Zimmer, a Head Coach who wanted to run the ball, and play great defense. He was paid handsomely by the Vikings, and contributed to the community, as well as the team. The offense was built around him, and he was the featured back. Unfortunately he thought he could garner a large contract with another team, when the Vikings decided he wasn’t worth what they were paying him. He became a free agent, and found out RB’s are a dime a dozen in the NFL, and lots of RB’s were just as good as he was. Also teams had moved on from the “run the ball and play good defense” strategy for the most part. He found the market far thinner than he expected. He was never a featured back after leaving the Vikings, and likely he is never going to be. Part of the business.

First date I had with my wife, I established that she was a Viking fan (I think my actual question was “you’re not a packer fan, are you?“) and that we aligned politically.
Political commentator Elie Mystal blames White Americans for the surge in egg prices. Why? Because they voted for President Donald Trump.
That’s odd, I thought Trump picked up record numbers on the non-white vote? Also, it was that other white guy, Joe Biden, that YOU voted for as a black person, who caused everything to go up in cost.
I hate when people get all racial and idiotic in their arguments.
‘I hate when people get all racial and idiotic in their arguments’
You must have hated the last couple of decades’.
Personally I find it better to treat it as a joke as we discussed yesterday.
I have been very angered by the lefts insistence that our country is ruled by institutional racism that last 15 years or so.
Last 15? How about 250 or so.
I went to an integrated elementary school, growing up in Fairfax, Va. I was blessed to never really consider race as a difference in people growing up. That wasn’t the case all over the country though, and indeed it has taken a while for racial divides to be addressed fully. By the 90’s though, 30 years after the civil rights movement, the country had course corrected, and many people felt those days were gone, and we were moving forward. Then in the early 2000’s the Dem’s started beating the racial drum to garner votes, and it grew louder and stronger every year. This, even though in schools and the workplace, people were getting along fine. The race baiters fanned the flames of racial divide and insisted the country was racist, for two reasons. Money and power.
I was kidding some.
Believe the month before Obama was elected people were asked how they about race relations in the country – 70% felt good and that great progress had been made. After eight years of Obama, the 70 had slipped to just 30%.
I think it was about a month after he got elected that everybody forgot where they were supposed to pee. that blew me away. All of a sudden, men’s and women’s restrooms became a source of mass confusion.
Trump is the president now. He should have lowered prices by now.
Wrong.
Prices were fine until Trump took office.
Yeah, lets bring Zimmer back as an assistant to Flo, what could go wrong?
https://fansided.com/vikings-mike-zimmer-controversial-free-agency-decision-sam-darnold
Not happening. Zimmer would never come back to minny.
Doubt his ego would allow him to leave as the HC to come back as an assistant to the DC.
If Flo said he could work with him as an ‘advisor’ that is the most I could see.
Holy crap, some folks would lose their minds
Agreed on your take Brad. I will not be watching the game. Just like the last time they played each other and agreed on the viewership numbers. Wanting the Cheifs to get a 3peat isn’t fun either because of a lot of the trash human beings some of their plays are. Its different then the Pats dynasty. Throw in the MSM knob gobbing of the Cheifs yeah, no thank you.
I guess it’s more of a tradition thing. It’s the last nfl game until August. It’s entertainment, nothing more unless the vikes are in it. Then it would be much more than just entertainment. I will always watch. FTE!
We have an annual get together at our house for the draft, that helps break the monotony of the off-season, and it also gives me another reason to fire up the smoker and cook for a large-ish group.
Hey GF, I get your stance on the SB, but I personally will always watch. It’s not so much about who’s in it, but more about the show itself. My adult sons will come over and I will have a spread of food. I wanted the bills to be in it, but I now hope the chiefs make history with a three peat because FTE!
I understand, and I used to watch it every year. I no longer do, because I don’t feel it’s a true competition anymore. I believe that the NFL mettles in one way or another, and has a say in who participates, because they are concerned about promoting the brand. I also was very turned off by the kneeling and all that shit years ago.
For those reasons, once the Vikings are out of it, I basically lose all interest in the season. I choose to go ice fishing with my son that day. I understand that people want to watch, I’m just not one of them.
‘I don’t feel it’s a true competition anymore’
The NFL is officially ‘Entertainment’.
Yessir
It’s funny watching the NFL scramble. They tell you it’s entertainment so that they can be exempt from the Sherman antitrust act, but then they want to tell fans that it’s still a competitive sport so that we’ll keep gobbling up their bullshit.
I was explaining all this to my son last night, I’ll bet he has some great conversations with his friends at school.
I hate it when they say it can’t be fake, think about all the people that would have to be in on it, for it to be fake. Basically the same argument they gave before it was revealed that professional wrestling is fake.
It may not be choreographed, but I know that the NFL exerts some sort of influence.
I can’t decide if it’s the NFL or Vegas.
Both are about money and it’s always about the money.
As soon as the Vikings are out, football is done for me until preseason. I have so much more time to do projects on Sundays without football viewing encroaching on my time.
Amen, brother.
I think I’m sort of the opposite. I get pretty excited watching the Vikings and get all caught up – too much probably.
But when playoff football comes around, and even without vikings, I sort of just enjoy watching high level football.
Almost to Williston, I can’t wait to get the hell out and I’m not even there yet.
Three inspections then I’m back on the road, hopefully I can be home by the time kiddo gets out of school.
AS one great mind would say “drive fast and take chances.”
Sound advice.
Die young and make a better looking corpse.
Only the good die young.
I go with “set the cruise at the speed limit and arrive alive.”
I set it for 10 to 20 above the speed limit and still arrive alive. Only earlier.
Until you get stopped and waste half an hour talking to ND’s finest.
That’s why God created radar detectors
Never use it. Down here limit is 70 and most drive 85 or faster. So you sort of just go with it,.
Yep, I love driving in Florida
When I left the airport the other day, the speed limit is 50 and I was behind somebody going 35. Going the speed limit is pretty normal though and even at the speed limit or only 1 or 2 over I’ll pass people.
Get on the toll roads and major interstates. You’ll get run over at 82.
I guess part of living in God’s country is just being happy with life and not in a hurry all the time.
I’m generally not in a hurry, I just hate driving slow
I guess the speed limits here help. 80 on the interstate and 70 on 2 lanes seems sufficient.
I only do about 85 in Montana, I like their speed limit
I hate going to Minnesota and getting on the county roads to my parents’ house. I’m gonna get a ticket there someday. No posted speed limit but it’s 55 and that’s a touch slow when you’re used to 70.
If I’m in traffic, I don’t drive fast, but when I’m out on the open road, pedal to the metal
God’s country – but doesn’t it cost a fortune to heat your swimming pools in the winter?
Hot tubs are far more common than swimming pools up here.
So true.
Federal agents busted dozens of Tren de Aragua gang members in an overnight raid in Denver, Colorado.
The round-up of 49 members of the violent Venezuelan gang took place in a “makeshift nightclub” where federal agents also seized weapons, drugs, and cash.
I just don’t understand why the Biden administration abjectly refused to make this country more safe and secure, when they were in office. Trump is doing exactly what a President is responsible for. Protecting the country and its citizens.
Because they considered these types of groups and activities as merely collateral damage in the pursuit of the major objective of ‘browning’ American. The white majority has ruled far too long.
Except, all those old white people like Biden, Schumer, and Pelosi, are ruling all those “brown” people.
Those “oldsters” are almost gone.
Thank God…
‘I just don’t understand why the Biden administration abjectly refused’
Because illegals shipped into blue cities/states will count in the next census and therefore give those places more Reps for House of Representatives.
Yep
Just got back from the long awaited ( 30 years coming) out of town complete family vacation. Tired, broke, but had a great time with all family together. As time goes on getting everyone together gets tougher and tougher.
Must say airline travel is complete crap and gets worse every year. And Elon needs to do some serious work on the TSA experience.
Good for you! and shame on you for waiting 30 years.
We made a decision early on all vacations would be “in town” and we would save the money and pay the full. bill for our childrens’ complete education. We have two kids with MBA’s and the other is a Doctor and we paid the full freight. Still think it was a good call. Only so much money to go around.
Yes, only so much money to go around. We kind of told our sone is post graduate education was on him. We will see if we hold firm to that.
But FJB can’t forgive your kids Education Loans if you pay for it all.
You get a big fat F in ‘Gaming the System’ Mister!
Now you can live the easy life off your kids’ repayment of your generosity!
Can’t wait for that to happen. Notice when we all go out to dinner, all the kids have deep pockets but alligator arms.
I worry some times about the current college generation, worries perhaps intensified by prevalent social media posts.
I’m definitely starting to “age out”. While my parents worked hard at good jobs (military/healthcare) and I wanted for nothing, an awesome family vacation was a camping trip to the Rockies in Alberta. While it wasn’t called “spring break” in college (Canadians call it “reading week”, I took the time to catch up on reading textbooks and completing projects as I had neither the time nor the funds to travel anywhere. Also, my classes and labs always started at 8 am and ran until at least 3 pm every weekday.
My almost 19 year old granddaughter (freshman) stopped by yesterday. She gets good grades, runs track. Asked how school is going – “I hate it”. What’s your schedule like – “I have two classes on Tuesday and Thursday, noon and 1 pm (accounting and psychology), otherwise three classes online only”. Any plans for Spring Break, “Oh, (female friend) and I are going to Hawaii for the week. It turns out that we could travel really cheap on a (stepdad) buddy pass and we can stay in the hotel with my mom cuz she (randomly haha) happens to be there for work”.
Hate the grind of four hours of in person learning a week, and looking forward to a ho hum week in Hawaii. Uh huh.
I’m just jealous, if my parents had offered to fly me to Hawaii as a freshman where I could stay in their hotel room for a week…scratch that.
Welcome to the new reality.
In my college days, my chances of going to Hawaii were about the same as going to Mars.
The only time I have been to Hawaii was when a military plane I was on stopped there on the way to Korea.
Growing up in Santa Barbara I don’t see a whole lot that Hawaii has to offer that is worth the plane ticket.
Agree. Maui reminds me a lot of SoCal and if not for our kids wishes to go there, California would have been just fine for me and wife.
Awesome, glad you enjoyed your time!
TSA sucks.
Kindred spirits. Just got back from my annual CME conference in Hawaii. I got “randomly” selected for secondary screening (just me, not my luggage) in both Billings and Kailua-Kona. I love getting my pockets patted. Other than that, I have to say the whole trip went off without a hitch. That is unlike our now defunct previously annual trips to Kissimmee via MSP and MCO where I developed a deep hatred of the TSA, and I think the last two years every single flight was delayed. Flying east from flyover country just sucks ass.
Also, our first time visiting SkyClubs (ponied up $$$ for the Delta Reserve card), made the 4 hour layover in Seattle outbound and Honolulu inbound much nicer.
We had great flight attendants, of course we are up in the rarefied air of first class/Delta one.
The guy doing the body cavity search is surprisingly gentle
Laughing… so hard. Nice one GF.
‘I got “randomly” selected for secondary screening’
You obviously looked guilty.
My wife says I look like a terrorist. She’s always standing at the end of the screening area with a big ol’ smile on her face while I get patted down. I start to get stomach pains from suppressing the urge to laugh out loud.
A ‘guilty terrorist’ then.
Neat. We were on Maui all week and the hotel was full of Dermatologists there for a conference – tough duty. The Delta club is great but there ‘economy plus’ is not very good and TSA on Maui makes MCO seem efficient.
Flying first class to Hawaii on Delta is beyond expensive.
The flight and lodging consume the majority of my allocated CME dollars but I am of a “use it or lose it” mindset.
Some times the derm conferences are at the Orchid over on the Kohala coast (big island) and I have fantasized of breezing through the reps tables picking up awesome lotions and creams but know I would get busted when they asked me to explain the appearance of a skin lesion using at least 26 adjectives. Radiologists are just too nerdy to fit in with the derm types
Oh, yopu can tell the derms live large, very large.
Interesting discussion.
There’s actually a federal agency, the CFPB, that was created during the Obama years, that “teaches” people how to NOT pay their bills and get relief. That same agency also regulates the banks and comes down hard on them for actually trying to collect delinguent accounts.
The banks are crooked as hell too
Credit Unions are better.
Here is mine, Pentagon Federal Credit Union.
https://www.penfed.org
A great financial institution.
Just wish they had a branch closer than Ft Hood Texas.
You forgot to add your account number and tracking number.
Oh yeah, my bad.
I will fax that right over to you.
8675309
That’s always been a catchy tune, that I liked.
Some are some not. But they are all painted with the same brush.
When the CFPB Regulators walk into any financial institution the first and ofter the only question they ask is – PROVE to us you aren’t discriminating!
Look back at the bailout. These assholes took billions from the taxpayers, then turned around and gave their CEOs gigantic bonuses. Crooked as hell. It’s much bigger than politics.
Like most things, there’s more to it.
In the first place, federal regulators ‘made’ many financial institutions make very questionable loans and were also following the quidelines directed by Fanny and Freddie, which were directed by Congress (Barney Frank).
Then there’s the TARP money. Many if not most fi’s did not need the money, but were again directed by fed regulators to take it so people couldn’t tell which institutions actually needed it and which didn’t.
CEO salaries are another matter, but so are movie stars and professional athletes.
They shouldn’t have given them a penny. Nobody is too big to fail.
I’m OK with that and believe it actually worked have worked out fine.
But, and I feel strongly here, the government should not be in the business of telling fi’s to approve and make loans for people who more than likely can’t repay them.
And government should not create policies like we want poor people to ‘own a home’ so come up with some crazy product – like alt a loans (negative amortization) – and then we all get stuck with the mess when the “real” payments come due.
I can’t remember who it was, but there was a liberal “news” person that was appalled that people were going to have to prove they can pay back a loan before it is granted to them. After the bail outs.
I know this is just anecdotal, but I’ve been flooded in recent weeks and months with additional homes to inspect, people that are behind on their mortgage where I have to do occupancy inspections. That’s in North Dakota where we’re fairly sheltered due to our oil economy, It’s much worse in other areas. I have a feeling that it’s going to get really bad.
Some is the system and some is the choices people make.
Listening to ‘advertising’ encourages one to make ‘The Easy Wrong’ choice over the ‘Difficult Right’ one.
I get annoyed by these SUVs with roof racks. They look like the police and then I slow down for no reason.
Police Explorers don’t have a luggage rack. That’s how you can pick em out from a distance.
I know, but the roof racks look like the police lights from a distance. My vision sucks, I need a new radar detector.
Maybe you should just always drive within 5 miles of the speed limit. Then you don’t have to worry about it. I know, it’s a crazy thought.
Gross.
Police recruits with ‘big racks’ have trouble meeting the fitness standards.
Unless they are DEI hires of course.
In my area it’s Ford Explorers. Every damn black Ford Explorer looks like it could be police. We have a newer black jeep grand cherokee and people always slow down when we come up behind them, so annoying.
Yep, same. Some of the city kitties & county mounties drive white or gray, smoky Bear usually drives black.
I see MN is taking well to the deportations.
They don’t call it programming for nothing Bow. How the media phrases things is carefully considered and constructed for the appropriate messaging angle. This is a perfect example.
That’s why people have checked out of listening to the mainstream media.
It appears they are on the wane, and rightly so. The mainstream media has lied, and lied, and lied, while attacking conservative values and positions for decades.
There’s a bit of irony to this and your point is spot on. But now they go to the internet for their “news” and who knows what they get feed.
Loved it when CNN had a truth bomb thrown at it.
Only 37s long but glorious.
Yeah… CNN… the most misinformed people on the planet, telling us we’re the ones who don’t know what’s going on.
CNN is losing viewers and money at a rapid pace. Yet, surprisingly they know why and still don’t change the messaging and general direction. Makes no sense. It is a business.
Don Jr. or Elon should buy CNN.
They should and could fix it – not really that tough..
CNN was once a great world wide and respected news organization.
They’re liberals and they are going down with the ship. No way will they ever admit they’re wrong.
Not sure if say “Face the Nation” with JD Vance on Sunday.
Reporter is just totally in the tank of the left.
Asks Vance what they are doing about high grocery prices.
Vance: Martha, we have been in office for 6 days. It takes time.
Heard one say something to the effect of ‘He didn’t sign one Executive Order to bring down prices’.
Makes you wonder are they so stupid to think that is how it works or do they just think their listeners are that stupid.
Exactly. The bleeding heart media has misrepresented the number of wolves in Wisconsin for nearly 20 years now, making it seem like there are so few of them that a hunting season is outrageous.
The DNR publishes a Minimum Verified Count of wolves, not an estimate of population. They take volunteers (a bunch of wolf lovers who don’t want them killed) and assign them chunks of land around WI, and they go there and count tracks crossing roads, and actual sightings of wolves. The media reports that number every time as the exact number of wolves.
The actual number of wolves in WI is much higher, because there is no way the counters can count them all if the wolves don’t cross a road to be counted while they’re out looking for them.
Activists are always going to sound the alarm, and skew data in their favor. The media consistently reported that the National crime rate was declining by over 2% a year under Biden, when it was actually increasing by over 4.5%. The FBI was fudging the numbers, to make Biden look good.
When the government is in charge of the stats the stats will reflect what the government wants them to say.
When the media is in bed with the government then their narrative will be supported and reinforced.
That is how Cackles got as many votes as she did, those people only get info from those bias sources.
I watched Vance on CBS’s Deface the Nation on Sunday, I can’t remember the liberal witch’s name that was hosting but Vance did an excellent job.
I like Vance a lot. Reasonable, rational, and balanced. Handles the media well. Says what needs to be said, without getting overly emotional.
Hate me all you want, but I found myself cheering for the Chiefs last night. I like Mahomes despite his getting whinier (as all great QBs seem to do, sadly) and in my opinion the obvious favoring from the refs (which also happens to popular teams in every sport and in every decade). I don’t like Kelce and I get nauseated over Swift, but I do really like Chris Jones. I think a three-peat would be fun, too.
I’m also glad the Bills lost so they don’t go on to win and leave the Vikings as the losing-est team in Super Bowl history.
Rational.
i’m still not watching. ice fishing is far more appealing to me. I tend to check out of the football season once the Vikings are out. My focus is on the draft and waiting to see the front office accumulate more picks.
Yep, we have a wrestling tournament that day and I have zero desire to watch the game. Took the kids fishing yesterday and caught a handful of stud perch.
I hope you win.
The fishing any good right now by you? Been real slow here (for me, at least, and I’m far from a pro).
I heard they’re hitting on a couple lakes, I haven’t been out much myself. That’s about to change.
I assume with the warmer weather this week it’ll be a good week to get out there.
Son and I went out Saturday for a couple hours, landed on the Mother Lode of bluegill. Fished 2 hours, brought home 34 between 7-10″
We might have seen a new state record perch yesterday by the guys fishing next to us. It was about 4 inches longer than the width of a 5 gallon bucket and as round as a football.
I think I have had Bluegills maybe one time – they are the same as sunfish, right? They were O.K. for eating.
They are a type of sunfish.
FTFY
Bluegill are excellent for eating
His 2 best
10″ and 9.5″
Nice!
Awesome!
I was thinking there was a chance that Dalvins brother would be the one to get to the Super Bowl, last night. I like Dalvin, and I always thought he was a great player, and great person. So I always hoped he would get to play in a Super Bowl. Sadly, his time is past, and now maybe his brother will do it.
The Bills would have been destroyed by the Eagles if they had won. So they would have been the first 0-5 Super Bowl team.
I also rooted for the Chiefs, since I think Mahomes is one of the best QBs to play the game. I also think the Chiefs defense at least has a chance to slow down the Eagles.
Chris Jones is a beast.
Josh Allen played well, but he cannot do it all. I hate the Eagles, for obvious reasons(fans, coach), but like Saquon Barkley. That guy runs over, through, and around people. I will be rooting for the Threepeat and then I will hope the Chiefs fall off a cliff and become irrelevant.
JJ starting the next football dynasty next year.
I thought you supported the position that the QB was responsible for wins and losses, Bow. Maybe I’m mistaken.
Why you taking shots at me in a conversation I have not been involved in?
Laughing… sorry Bow, I thought this was your comment. My bad.
QB is responsible for Wins, unless his name is Kirk.
QB is responsible for losses if he throws short of the sticks on 4th and 8, or if
I thought you knew the rules…..
So according to you, Josh Allen played well, but the Bills didn’t win. Yet, QB’s are responsible for wins and losses. Sorry Surly, the logic here doesn’t add up to me.
And when you’re getting sacked on 4th and 8, you get the ball out to whoever you can.
The ‘butthurt’ seldom respond well to logic.
On 4th down, Josh Allen did NOT throw short of the sticks at the end of the game. The receiver did not catch the ball, and the game was essentially over. Josh was getting sacked, but at least he threw up a prayer beyond the sticks vs throwing 4 yards short of the line to gain.
Josh > Kirko, and it is not even close.
Still, my post was dripping with sarcasm. While I hate kirk’s agent, and Rick for overpaying him, I do not hate Kirk.
I am, still, very happy he is no longer a Viking, and I will feel the same about Sam when he leaves.
Wouldn’t have mattered if he caught the ball. The refs had already thrown a flag to call it back and picked it up when they saw he didn’t catch it.
Two very different plays. Josh was heavily rushed right off the snap, and basically just chucked it up. He threw the ball to a player with no chance to make a play. You assert that’s better than getting the ball to a guy who can maybe make the catch, and break one tackle and run for 30 yards?
In that same scenario, Kirk would have just been sacked and never thrown it.
Not so. Totally false narrative here. Cousins made many throws in his career when under immediate pressure. I remember a throw to Thielen he made while getting clubbed in the head in his own end zone, that went for 63 yards for instance.
Yes. I do. Because anything Kirk does in a loss, is obviously wrong. Anything Josh Allen does, it is the team’s fault if they lose.
Laughing… alrighty then.
This one’s for you Edge, in case you missed it.
Trump is a misogynist and a bigot. He just probably didn’t know she was a woman, and he was black.
According to Edge, she is motivated to keep our Cornfields safe for American use.
Yeah…
Holy crap, it’s windy up here by Minot.
I remember about 10 years ago, my Exec came into my office, letting me know that “we” were looking at a trip to Minot, and “we” needed to look at my calendar. I said “son, it’s December… “we” aren’t going to Minot before April”.
But just think of all the ‘street cred’ you would have gotten with you ‘war stories’ of surviving the -80 degree weather.
Laughing… I have plenty of street cred, and war stories.
There is no such thing as too much ‘street cred’ and war stories.
They are the ‘coin of the realm’ as we age.
My daughter bought me a book for my Birthday, titled “Dad, I want to hear your story”. It’s a journal she wants me to fill out about my entire life. It covers everything from the family tree, to everywhere I’ve been, and everything I’ve done. Gonna take me awhile to accomplish for her.
Going to put in the ‘real juicy’ parts for her?
Laughing… there are things I’ve done I’m not particularly proud of. Also, lots of stuff that is classified, so how I address those things is still a problem. I think she wants more of a deep dive on my side of the story for the divorce too, but why bother? I will focus on the positives.
‘I will focus on the positives’
So more His Story than History?
Well put.
Why not Minot?
Because it’s too damn cold
That’s not the Official NFL/AP comeback player of the year.
It’s just some random group coming up with their own awards.
I doubt Sam I Am wins the official award.
He is surprisingly a finalist though for the award he is not supposed to be eligible for.
I thought that PFWA used the same parameters?
No idea, but I’m sure it’s a different group of people.
Yeah, it’s not the official AP vote, it’s just the writers/journalists. They come out with theirs first, i’m not sure when the official awards come out.
I’m guessing at the NFL Honors show next weekend.
I hope I win something.
Most bestest football blog.
PWFA is the pro football writer’s of America. Hardly a “random group”, IMO.
That is the same group that voted KOC Coach of the Year.
Vikings didn’t even care enough to get the headline right.

It’s hard to drive over Lake Audubon. Makes me wanna stop and go ice fishing. Lucky I’m in my car and have none of my gear.
I tried. I changed both of my predictions in the pick ‘em league. I screwed up, I should have picked the Chiefs and Eagles, that way they would lose. My bad.
I typically don’t go into ref-blaming too much, but Josh Allen had that first down.
Chief’s short yardage defense was on fire, though. No doubt.
Regardless, I shut the game off after that play.
What a weird season. The first 18 games were pretty fun. Then the Vikings turned into…themselves, basically, and we get a Chiefs/Eagles Super Bowl.
I didn’t watch much of the game, I was at the shop and watched it on my phone for a while. I knew those bastards were gonna win.
How long have you been waiting to use this Gif? Could also have been used as a graphic example of Kackle’s word salad…
