Vikings Conversation and Random Thoughts
My yesterday did an about face first thing in the morning (those of you who were in the military will know what an “about face” is. I planned to go east to Jamestown, do a couple inspections and head home. Instead, I got a call from the Sheriff in Dickinson, and they needed me there to complete an eviction. The actual foreclosure was completed a couple months ago, but the occupant did not leave, so it’s been in the courts, and I’d all but forgotten about it. So, instead of heading east, I headed west.
Everything went smoothly, and I actually helped the gal find a storage unit. She owned a F-150 King Ranch that looked brand new, which I found odd for someone who just went through foreclosure and eviction, but whatever. The sheriff said he had another one coming up in a couple weeks, and the occupant is so unhinged that he’ll have to call in the SWAT team to help them complete the eviction. I wish I could be there to see that. The more of these types of processes I see, the more I’m convinced that our legal system was put together by an insane person.
As far as the Vikings go, I’ve seen no actual news………again.

Potential #1 pick Abdul Carter will NOT be participating in the NFL Scouting Combine due to injury, but will perform at Penn State’s Pro Day, per Fox News.
\At NFL.com, Stephen Jones says the Cowboys will be selectively aggressive in their offseason approach. It’ll be hard for them to be aggressive at all with 46% of their 2025 salary cap allocated to two players. Maybe they should check the Salvation Army & see if they have any NFL players hanging on the rack.
From CBS Sports, Matthew Stafford would like an 85% raise, and several teams are interested in trading for the 37 year old QB. Stafford is set to make $27 million in 2025, but wants around $50 million.

My fellow skoloholics, since things are slow I am going to take this opportunity to inform you all that I have more or less been semi-“DOGED”. The federal contracts my company depends on to keep the doors open haven’t been canceled, but as they expire it does not look like they will be renewed.

I will be reduced to 60 percent time effective March 1st, and we will likely shutter our doors altogether by next February.
People ask me if I am angry. I am not. My staff will have no trouble finding work outside of government contracts, none will starve. I understand with a 37 trillion dollar debt we need to cut government down to the bones – this means some useful and helpful programs will be cut – but as long as we get rid of all of the shit it is worth it.

I assume you do work for Minot AFB? Or is there other Gov Agencies that your company has contracts for?
Others….primarily CMS, CDC, AHRQ…..health care related agencies.
There is just not a lot of demand for DEI training right now

A lot of things come to mind, but perhaps will just say you have a remarkable and outstanding attitude. Not many people could get to where you are mentally.

Sorry to hear, lots of good, hardworking people losing their jobs right now. I understand that there is a lot of government waste, but you can’t convince me that everyone of these firings are of merit.
Sometimes you have to tear down and build from the ground up. Regardless, for the people who do actual work and are legitimately hardworking people, it is sad. But so much rampant waste, there is bound to be some collateral damage unfortunately.
This is where I am at. And although I believe that my company has likely saved thousands of lives in the 30 years I have been here – we have to tear it all down, and we are just caught in the middle of it.
How many lives will be lost if the US goes tits up financially, and boys and girls we aren’t that far from that.

I am pretty sure nobody here believes that Bradbury and Ingram have no trade value, but if we were to trade them, what could we get? Could we get a late second or third for one or the other?
Maybe a late 5th or 6th, maybe.
Although I am not sure why, but Bradbury was an alternate in the probowl. So someone out there thinks somewhat highly of him. Maybe a 3rd round for him and 5th round for Ingram.
I guess it depends on the replacements and the cost.

I’d go with Mason Graham, DT, Michigan. Dude is an absolute beast against the run and the pass and fills an obvious position of need.

I think that way with his son, the qb. I would not want to have to coach him do to all the bs that might come with that decision. Hunter on the other hand is different imo. I’ve watched many of his games and I’m impressed. Obviously has to translate to the NFL, but I think he has the tools and physical ability to do so. I would definitely play him at corner with some offense in mind, because he’s that good, imo.

I’d bet he will push for one more year of guarantees in 2026 before signing a one year rental with a team.
