Other news – Stock Market had a rough week. Monkeys in DC are throwing poop at each other instead of working together. Most people seem to hate their neighbors. In other words, this was a normal week in the world. I am ready for the distraction of the College Basketball tourney, then the Masters, then the NFL draft so I can complain about those things. After that it is golf season here, and that keeps me moderately focused and annoyed until the NFL Pre season fun begins. This is the start of the JJ era, and I am fired up. Bread and Circus for me.

Many media outlets have claimed that President Trump’s trade policies will drive costs up. But the data indicates the exact opposite.
Recent economic reports corroborate Trump’s claim. The monthly Consumer Price Index report was negative for the first time since May 2020 (which was in Trump’s first term). The report revealed that energy prices were the big driver for the decline. Energy prices dropped 2.4%, and gasoline prices decreased by 6.1%.
U.S. wholesale prices dropped in March by the biggest margin since October 2023. The Producer Price Index for March 2025 fell 0.4% from the previous month. Specifically, energy costs declined 4% and food prices dropped by 2.1%.
Additionally, March import prices went down as well. This was the first time that happened since September 2024. Trump even destroyed the short-lived Democrat talking point regarding high egg prices.
The key constant? Energy prices and costs are down. Energy prices directly affect the cost of producing and transporting goods.
The data is clear. Trump’s economic plan is working, and prices are undeniably down this Easter weekend thanks to him.
Economy under Trump is gonna be great again.

Interestingly enough, Ovechkin scored his record breaking goal in his 1,487th game. The same as Gretzky’s career total.

Looks like Asante Samuel Jr has shoulder and neck injury issues which are affecting his market, and why he hasn’t been signed.
Rumor is he has a ‘handshake agreement’ to sign with the Vikings after the draft when he won’t count against the 2026 Comp Pick calculations.

The DBs could use some depth and the rumors of us adding a FA after the draft would help there quite a bit. Seems TE needs some shoring up since Hock and Oliver are the only 2 we have on the roster.

The Struggle Is Real!!
Stayed up late to watch the Duke collapse.
Houston defense is amazing.
The poor officiating reminded me of why I stopped watching basketball.
You never need to watch a full game of basketball. Tune in to the last minute of game time, and spend 15 minutes (real time) watching officials unravel a game and way too many commercials.
It is no longer the game I loved growing up. Sometimes you can still see that game in college but not the major teams. Those players are getting ready for the NBA where the game is circling the toilet bowl.
That was a fun game last night. Of course I was really happy, because I have Houston winning it all in one of my brackets for our family bracket challenge. I am in first place and I need Houston to win the championship because my daughter in law has Florida picked to win. If Florida wins, my daughter in law will beat me by 4 points.

Had fun at the Seafood festival. The bands were surprisingly good. Lots of different kinds of food booths, some games, lots of booths with knick-knacks, clothing, custom made jewelry, hats, etc. We met several folks and made a few fast friends. All in all a fun day.

We are just back from the rec center, 8 mile power walk w/2ea 5 lb weights, 2 hr 10 m, 119 avg heart rate (bpm).

Unfortunately I have a heart condition that limits me physically. Good on you for doing the work. My wife does 2 to 3 hours in the gym almost daily.
We do 2-2.5 hours 4x a week.
Plus I do stuff around the house, bow, crunches, arm workout with iron bar, occasionally pushups, etc.
My hearts numbers are good, that is what I am trying to maintain.
You did enough in your life, take it easy and enjoy. ‘A good walk spoiled’ is fine. #grin

Remember this game fondly. He also had a huge kick return to set up Longwell for the game winner.
He just scored his 3rd TD to put them up 31-17. He and Chester Taylor were a great 1-2 punch. They had to drag Troy Williamson (although he did have a TD catch in this game) and T. Jackson, who was 9-23 passing.
It’s going to be my final Saturday of work on tax returns.
Im taking next weekend off to watch the masters I think.

Hey JR, Rickie is teeing off in about 16 minutes. We’re heading out, so I’ll miss his round today. Hoping he emulates his second round performance yesterday, and somehow gets in reach of the lead. Harmon was playing lights out yesterday too though, and if he can put another round like that together, the tournament will basically be over. Must watch!
