Vikings Discussion and Random Thoughts
For those of you regular tax filers, today is the final day to get those returns filed. Self-employed folks are on a different schedule, we got screwed a while ago. We watched Bench Warmers last night, or started to, anyway. It’s a pretty good show, I’d never seen it before. 1,000,000 times better than that crappy Minecraft movie I subjected myself to the other day.

Derek Carr announced that he has a shoulder injury that may need surgery. Odd timing for the announcement, kinda reminds me of when Sidney Rice waited until right before the 2010 season to have surgery. The great thing is (great if you’re not a Saints fan, and I’m not) that the Saints just reworked Carr’s deal, so they’re SCREWED if he can’t play this year. Link to Carr’s contract on Spotrac. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving team. #NEVERFORGET

Vikings.com looks at cornerback prospects for the Vikings in the 2025 NFL draft.
NFL News
The Giants are hosting Shadeur Sanders for a private workout on Thursday, per NFL.com. The Giants hold the number 3 pick in the draft.
CBS Sports mocks the Saints as trading into the top 5 now that they may be looking for a QB.
CBS Sports looks at what’s next for Kirk Cousins. I predict the Browns or Saints. The *aints could POSSIBLY swing a trade IF the Falcons are willing to eat most of his 2025 salary, which they’d likely be willing to do.
Another potential day two draft pick is having issues. Former Texas WR Isaiah Bond surrendered on a sexual assault warrant and was released after posting bond, per NBC Sports. Sheesh.
From NFL.com, Patrick Peterson has ‘no regrets’ after 13 seasons, and says “I can still play, but I do not want to play”. Good for him, going out on his own terms.

A couple takes on the Derek Carr injury announcement.

Went and played 9 holes and shot 41. Played with two older guys, and a kid in his 20’s. I think he plays college golf. He played from the tips, and on one par three that was playing 195 yards for him, he hit a 7 iron. We normal golfers played from the Whites, and that hole played 170 yards for us. I hit a 7 wood that flew about 155 yards to the front of the green, and rolled out another 10 yards. The other guys both hit their balls into the water, and then dropped their balls on the other side of the lake, and played from there. We had a good time, but the kid was very meticulous and slow, and took forever to hit a shot. He walked all over the entire green a couple times before hitting a putt, took deep breaths before moving into his address position, etc. We just walked up and hit our balls.
He shot 2 under par. We just wanted the round to be over.
Golf club lofts are getting steeper (to help appear as club improvement)
I only use a putter.
Putt putt. Easy on back. Cheaper green fees.
More holes in one, too. Feel like a real champion.
I don’t know, when I practice putt a lot the bending over alwauys gives me a sore back.
My back has some miles on it, don’t take much.
I watched a Bobby Jones video on putting years ago, and he said to stand up straighter, and be more leisurely with your putting. Be relaxed. I stand very close to the ball and use a longer putter to take the strain off my back. I still don’t practice putting anymore though. Gave up practice years ago.
That’s a good idea – I bend over too much.
I stretch A LOT, it helps
That is a very strange comparison. I used to play that model of Pings and it’s day it was considered super game improvement. The TM’s he is playing are Pro Models and quite hard to hit well – small sweet spot compared to a large one for the Pings.
Now, agree ‘modern’ models put a five iron loft on a seven iron and everyone goes Whoa I can it hit farther. Trouble is, they can’t hold a green because it’s lower and hotter.
But hay, distance sells.
Dolphins gonna be a s*** team this year.
Dolphins/Jets battle for the cellar of the AFC East………and the cellar of the AFC.
What’s new.
Loved the trade “proposal” i saw. Fins give us Tua and a pick for JJ. Who makes up that shit?
LOL, like we’d trade JJ for a broken QB and an old CB on a shitty contract. Goofballs. Which site is that from?
Can’t remember, couple months ago. Just look for words expert and proposal and you know it’s stupid.
LOL
Yeah, that is incredibly dumb.
Why are the Dolphins trading Ramsey? Why trade him one year after signing him to an extension? Why get rid of one of the few bright spots on that defense? They’ve been pretty poor at drafting, so accumulating draft picks doesn’t give them much benefit. Is their GM (Grier?) just dumb?
Trying to wrap my head around the announcement. Would make more sense to trade Tyreek.
With Ramsey’s salary, they aren’t going to get much for Ramsey, maybe a 3rd round pick, at the most.
I think Ramsey is trying to get off the burning ship.
Sounds like it was initiated by the Dolphins. Been listening to a few Miami-based local guy/gals, they seem to think the Dullphins asked him to take less $$$$, and he said no, so they likely decided to try to move on.
Looking at the contract, Miami is already on the hook for a lot of this year’s contract (bonuses, etc.), so it wouldn’t be a huge cap hit for the acquiring team. Really depends, because that’ll dictate how much a team would give up in terms of draft picks.
Wow, did not see that. Thanks.
Not anything verified, I just heard that on some local podcasts. I could definitely be wrong about that.
I think Ramsey said and did some things that pissed off the GM/Coach.
Entirely possible. He’s still their only defensive star, as far as I know. I could be wrong, but I think Van Winkle was their only other stud on D, and he’s a Viking now.
Ex-Vikings QB Christian Ponder explains why his NFL career didn’t pan out
Meh.
Liked the guy, but he was never gonna win a Super Bowl. Just like Kirko or Teddy.
Nice guys, but not good enough.
At least Ponder can grill a steak.
At least he didn’t charge the team a quarter of a billion dollars.
JJ on a rookie contract is so refreshing. FA signings. We stay healthy i think JJ can do well with the run/pass combo.
Amen. Geting more balanced on offense is huge.
Putting Teddy and Ponder in the same class as Kirk is ridiculous. Both of them were well below average QB’s, and Kirk was well above average (albeit not likely anymore). KDS.
One playoff win in 12 years is above average?
Well, Joe Burrow doesn’t have a SB so he sucks. So does Josh Allen. And Dan Marino was bad too.
Conference Championships exist btw. You have to make it to those to have a chance at a SB. All of those QBs you’ve listed have been there, many multiple times. If you cant get there on a regular basis you area below average. Again, nice try, try again tomorrow. Dying on the Kirk was/is good hill is not wise.
Didn’t win SB so doesn’t matter. Empty trophy case.
KDS
Never said that.
But I am saying that. PO wins don’t matter. Only SB’s will be remembered.
I don’t recall saying anything about a SB.
Nice strawman argument, though!!!!
Nah, it was hyperbole like yours. Playoff wins don’t equate to stats and quality of play by one person. How many SB’s did Brees win? One, by hardcore cheating by the refs and his team trying to injure. He wouldn’t have any if it weren’t for that. Would anyone call him average?
Kirk Cousins, is by all means, significantly above average for QB play and statistics. Factually.
KDS
Go look at some statistics. KC is above average and doesn’t even belong in the same sentence as Ponder and Teddy, who were very below average QB’s (I would say bad, statistically).
I’ll always give KC some street cred for dealing with some awful line play. I’m sure it’s a concern with JJ by FA’s.
Keenum had the same O line, though. He went to the NFCCG.
Ummm actually the Defense took the team to the NFCCG. Keenum threw a lot of balls that he was lucky Thielen and Diggs came down with.
well, that defense sucked in the NFCCG and for that matter the second half of the Saints game. Pure luck they won that game.
True. Without that stellar defense, the Vikings could not win. That whole season was a victory lap for one of the best defenses in franchise history.
In 2018 that defense faltered in important moments, and that was one of the reasons the record was so much worse than in 2017. The run game took a huge step back as well BTW. In 2017 the Vikings ranked 7th in the league in yards per game rushing. In 2018 they fell to 30th.
Come on NLNVF, that stuff doesn’t matter. Everyone knows run game and O-line don’t matter at all. If you are a truly great QB, you will transcend all obstacles all the time.
Yeah, and throwing for 4,036 yards and 30 TD’s is total, and abject failure.
Defense was different and aging/declining.
LOL
Must be hard for KDS to control your life. Good thing you only have Tuesdays to rage about him.
And I got a hole in one once.
I wonder who was throwing the ball with JJ and Theilen setting all those records? Probably just any old QB could and would have done that. Turnstile centers and guards didn’t help, either. You must be saying that our centers and guards were good during this time? And our cornerbacks were even average? HAHA
That was Cousins doing that with Thielen and Diggs… Thielen has the NFL record for most 100 yard receiving games to start a season… right?
Exactly. And JJ holds several records as well. But I’m sure Ponder could have done that. Or Johnny Football, or whoever else people wanted at the time.
How many teams get to the NFCCG by winning their only playoff game the week before by completing a Hail Mary.
And it sure as hell caught up with them the next week.’
No kidding! He has dealt with terrible lines, generally.
Also, I wonder who was throwing the ball with JJ and Theilen setting all those records? Probably just any old QB could and would have done that.
Sure, he arrived to a team who went 13-3 & went to the NFCCG. He led that same team to an 8-7-1 record and missed the playoffs. That was AFTER being signed to a contract making him the highest paid QB in the NFL (at the time of signing). I love statistics.
Every team is different GF, and you seem to forget the Vikings lost their OC in the offseason, and their O-line and running game coach passed away in the pre-season. The new OC flamed out in the NFL and in fact didn’t last the season with the Vikings. The defense in 2017 was totally lights out, and had an amazing year with takeaways, and holding opposing defenses to low point totals.
Cousins came in and despite all that, put up great numbers.
I don’t forget, been watching this team since 1980, been through it all.
I’ve seen every excuse on earth for Kirk, I just don’t buy them. At some point, the excuses ring empty.
Excuses… that’s a cop out. It’s like saying “just because you lost a tire, doesn’t mean you should lose the race”. No one ever makes excuses for Cousins, because his production stats speak for themselves. Rather the team needs those excuses for not winning.
Every year, it’s a new set of excuses. Every. Year.
Let’s see how many superbowls we win with JJMac. I wonder what his excuses will be, because right now he’s 100X better than Kirk and he hasn’t played a single down.
Cousins excelled despite the various team deficiencies though. As I said, the “excuses” are for the team. He is a top shelf NFL QB who has played on bad teams.
Here is a ‘no excuse’ thought – his record is what it is.
But how many ‘average’ QB’s stay around long enough as a starter to throw for nearly 45,000 yards and 300 TD’s.
Very good point.
Sorry, results say otherwise.
Ponder and Teddy gave me more fun games in person than Kirko.
I gave up on Kirk after two stinkers in 2018
They both have had more “stinkers” than KC, given their relatively short careers.
Funny how anyone could like Ponder, who was a huge waste of Peterson’s and some others’ prime years, regardless of contract. Joke of a player.
Almost as much of a joke as Kirk Cousins.
Shit is shit.
Kirk is shit.
That’s why he owns so many franchise records for the Redskins, Vikings, and even one for the Falcons.
.500 seasons are a record?
You’re a hoot GF.
Cheaper turd, too.
I wasn’t on the DN in those early days. I had no idea he had such a significant shoulder injury in college. Gotta be honest, if it was up to me after a grade III AC separation I would not draft a QB until the second day rounds, no matter how well he played after surgery.
I remember that draft vividly, Rick went into the draft basically telegraphing that they were taking a QB with that first pick. Then he did it. Rick was an idiot. Probably still is.
That was the strike year and we needed a quarterback. Everyone knew we were drafting one.
Yep, we painted ourselves into a corner. Poor strategy by our illustrious GM, what a baboon.
Back in 2016 I shared on the DN that my dog Jack had passed, and later that we got a new choco puppy Tuck. Later I shared on skoloholics that we rescued a second two year old choco Bubba. You guys are sorta my virtual buddies, so I want to share that I helped Tuck over the rainbow bridge on Sunday. He was such a good boy, but now he rests down in the copse of trees just down the hill from our place, next to the creek, where he loved to sun himself.
He was two months shy of his ninth birthday, he always lived life to the fullest, absolutely loved entertaining people with “spin o ramas”, “loopy loopies”, never met a ball he wouldn’t fetch, would swim for hours. But, he was also exasperating, in his youth he ate rocks (then threw them up in the middle of the night, plus broke a tooth on a rock), ate cow shit or anything else remotely enticing (ditto), had funky ass toenails that even clipping every couple of weeks went from trimming into the quick to breaking off painfully and bleeding, and for the last year or so couldn’t digest dry dog food (so we moistened food and added pumpkin and canned dog food as well as human food, yet still slowly lost weight), had arthritis, and was always pulling up lame from his balls to wall fetching routine. We were giving him doggy ibuprofen every couple of days while the vet watched his borderline renal insufficiency closely.
I will miss my hunting buddy, there was no thicket thorny enough to deter him from busting open to get a pheasant.
He was lame for the last week, I was worried he had partially torn the CCL on his stifle joint. On Saturday night after supper he did his spin o rama routine with his big blue ball, yelped and did the toe tap gait, I tested him and he had a positive drawer sign. I knew also that even if we did surgery, he would probably blow the CCL on the other side while recovering.
I wanted him to somehow get better on his own, but that was me being selfish. I was awake all night thinking about the morning…half the time when I looked down at him on his bed he was awake looking at me. He wanted me to know it was time.
Although I remember commenting when Brad talked about helping his dog pass that I couldn’t do it, I knew it had to be done. He hated the vet and I know he would have been unhappy his last moments if I took him there.
The chocos sat contentedly down with me Sunday morning while I dug a grave under his favorite tree. I put Bubba in the house and sat with Tuck, tossed the ball a short distance for him while he did a three legged fetch. Then we sat and watched some geese landing on the other side of the creek, and one second he was enjoying my petting him and telling him he was a good dog, and the next he was gone to a better place, I hope. At least he was no longer in pain.
Goodbye, buddy.
This was him Sunday morning.
Sorry to hear this, it’s amazing how close we can get to a dog. I am not looking forward to losing my Yellow Lab, when it is time.
Thanks, man. I do get damn close with my dogs, we walk together at least twice a day, if I am outside they are always right next to me standing guard (or dropping a ball into whatever project my hands are in). He was a damn good ‘un.
What a great dog.
I am very sorry for your loss.
Dogs remind us that we can be better humans.
Thank you.
I was slobbering and sniffing and blowing my nose for a good fifteen minutes digging the grave (clay was dry and at least I got a workout). Damn dogs knew I was sad about something, kept coming up to me and rubbing against my leg, looking for pets.
Me being a tobacco chew’n, beer drink’n, pick up drive’n, gun tote’n guy, it bugs me how much I am endeared to my choco.
When it came time to put my first choco down I couldn’t do it myself. Thought i could but couldn’t.
Tough loss man.
My chocos are the best dogs I have ever owned. Although they are also in virtual heaven on earth here at our place with the ability to roam around, get spoiled, lots of smells and squirrels and geese and such…but they deserve it.
Thank you.
That’s a sad story and I fully appreciate your loss. Reading your story reminded me of all my past dogs I have lost, and still remember fondly.
My daughter is a Vet and often mentions her toughest days are putting a dog or any animal down. Says they don’t prepare you for that in school and it never really gets easier.
Sorry for your loss, and like you, do believe he is in a better place chasing pheasants up. May ever be with a couple of cockers of mine that just loved to hunt.
Thank you. Yes it is odd as I am logically an atheist but at these moments in my heart I want to believe I will “wake up” on the other side and see my boys (dogs) again.
😢Dang! Sorry to hear this. Tis why we foster and don’t adopt – it’s just too soul crushing to lose these “best friends”.
Thank you. I hear you on the foster thing, but I treasure the great memories I had with all my dogs. The two dogs I had put to sleep, I still remember how they were quivering with anxiety while they started the IV, and how my crying after they passed made the vets cry too. Better this way, but I had to put myself a little out of body to do it.
We had two put down at the vet.
Then our last one we found out about in-home vets that handle that. Our girl was not as stressed, laying on her favorite bed, getting pets, while the IV started. Much better process.
I still cried like crazy, but my wife and I agreed that we will avoid the vet if possible with our current two dogs when it comes time to say goodbye.
I know I would rather be at home vs in the hospital when my time comes.
Sorry to hear, amigo. Awesome that you have the memories, doesn’t make it any easier. Been there, it sucks.
Thank you, Brad. It was your strength in helping get your dogs over the bridge that kept me going through the night, knowing what I had to do in the morning. I knew my wife would say, “are you sure you can do it, don’t you want to call the vet?” and I knew I couldn’t do that to him, told her to say goodbye while I went down to dig and she told me how proud she was I didn’t make him live with pain just because I couldn’t let go, and how peaceful he seemed while we watched the geese.
I will have one for Tuck tonight.
Sorry for your loss.
Thank you, amigo.
MT –
Not gonna get into it now, ain’t the time – but I’m going thru a divorce and am losing custody of my Goose. Your post has me balling. You gave that puppy the best life possible, and I’m sure he more than returned the favor with endless memories, both good and bad.
My condolences.
🔨🔨🔨
Sorry to hear about your marriage issues. Will miss seeing the Goose.
Hope you get visitation rights. Dogs never forget their loved ones.
Well, no dog support involved. Can you talk nice and make a deal?
Oh Mjolnir I am so sorry to hear that. Double jeopardy. Keep your chin up, let us know if you need to vent. Not only is divorce one of the hardest life events to go through, damn depressing, but to lose your beloved Goose is a double kick in the nads. Make sure and talk to someone, don’t go through this alone.
Last three years of his life were pretty special, he always loved coming over here to “the country” to visit, I’m sure when we made the move he was waiting for a while for all the scenic walks and freedom to roam to end.
Sorry to heat that Mjolnir. Proof once again that dogs are better than most humans.
Most?
So sorry to hear that you’re going through that, amigo.
I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a great companion.
Thank you. He really was…we had a camera in the living room in Billings and like clockwork he would come out of the bedroom and sit down on the floor in front of the entry mat about 10 pm when I worked evening shifts, was always overjoyed when I came in about 11 and would take him out to play fetch over in the vacant lot next to our place. I always came home feeling exhausted after a 15+ hour day and yet he knew just what to do to cheer me up.
I am not a dog guy…but sorry for your loss….losing pets suck.
Thank you. On a lighter note, Bubba is really paying attention during his training sessions these last couple of days!
Question, is Bubba ever sitting/sleeping near the tree?
Our dogs were cremated, but when one of the pack leaves, the other two (we had 3 dogs) normally gravitate to the favorite bed/toy of the missing dog.
MT, that was about as heart warming, and heart wrenching a post I’ve ever read. In my 70 years I have had many dogs as pets, and one by one they have all had to be put down. It tore me up every single time. Since I have been married to my second wife we have had to euthanize 2 cats, and one passed in his sleep one night. They bring us comfort and they bring us joy. They also bring us the responsibility to care for them till the bitter end.
My sincere condolences on losing your buddy, and thank you for the wonderful post.
Thank you so much, NLNVF. You are a warrior and chew on steel wool for a toothache, but all of us are brought low by the passing of our pets.
Last regular season game for Wild.
Sadly, Twins have a 145 left.
Guessing Timberpuppies out in 1st round. League would prefer Lakers, i’m sure.
We’re thinking of heading to a Wolves playoff game, depends how the schedule works out. Pretty sure we’ll make it happen.
Playoffs are more fun, for sure.
I still expect them to fail, so I am staying home.
Games 3, 4, and 6 will be in Minnesota. Game 1 is on Saturday, so trying to figure out which days the Minny games will be. I’ll pull kiddo from school to get to one, kids spend WAY too much damn time in school, anyway. Plus, kiddo’s doing great, he can miss a day or two.
Smart dad. Memories of spending time with you are way better than school.
Amen, brother.
Flacco may have wanted to play more or start. Who knows. I’m sure nothing will happen now til draft over.
I can’t get over the Carr shoulder in the words up top thingy.
In a real world example, it would be like having someone signed up to cover obstetric call for the next six months, only to have them let you know a month before OB call starts that they are taking time off for maternity leave. D’oh!
Seems like an oddly specific comparison. Real life example?
No…although I know of cases where locums physicians have bailed on coverage for personal reasons.
I know, really odd timing on the announcement. Seriously reminded me immediately of the Sydney Rice injury.
Biden will deliver his first public remarks since leaving office at the National Conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled in Chicago today.
Supposedly going to talk about Social Security. Likely will say Trump wants to do away with it, or is destroying it with DOGE and Elon Musk.
He’ll be jacked up. Amphetamines or some kind of cognitive enhancer. Book it.
Yeah, and there will be no shots of him walking. It will be extremely choreographed, and a tightly controlled messaging event. He will be “put together” by pro’s and he likely has been preparing for this presentation for many, many weeks. What you will see is the very best Biden is capable of tonight.
Yep, more lies guaranteed.
i really should be in the draft room next week.
KILLED the draft
superbowl here we come
Looks good to me Freezy
obviously mock drafts are VERY realistic
Who traded what?
Think the Bengals traded with them to get another first round pick.
don’t even remember. but they were ONLY realistic trades, trust me
Other teams traded picks, I think.
Shemar Turner is going in the first round, book it!
Ummm… I think you’re confusing him with Shemar Stewart. Turner is not projected to be a first round pick.
Obviously he has inside information, how can you doubt him? Projected, proschmected.
Shemar and two different spellings of Savion. Good grief. One of a dozen pet peeves of mine. Weird ass names and weird ass spellings, way to set up your kid for failure in life…”my daughter’s name is Persephone, that is spelled with a double i, double e, and a y”.
I posted a video yesterday explaining how that happens.
I’ll have to look back.
Yup, I was thinking of Stewart, my bad.
Stewart
Well paid my taxes – it’s just great. Elon get your butt moving.
Someone told me a stat last night I found staggering – that we have 100 million people in this country on food stamps. Still not sure it’s true, but it is no doubt bigger than most would believe.
I think that number is how many qualify for food stamps. It is surprising.
41 million. Way too many….help wanted signs all over the place. This country makes it WAY TO EASY not to work. A little hunger is a great motivator.
The amount of applications we get on jobs that you know are from people who have zero intention of ever working is ridiculous just so they can keep getting handouts.
Damn right – the hungry dog runs the fastest.
Work is good and everything government does should be to encourage work.
When Newt/Clinton put a limit on unemployment in the 90’s, the unemployment rate dropped a point, and more importantly, five million people moved into the middle class. Win/win.
I have been a strong proponent of ‘hunger is a great motivator’ for those of sound body and mind for years. Not kids though.
Agree.
Yep, agreed.
my daughter has a big presentation in front of alot of people today.
its the first time she has had something like this. she is very nervous and i’m very nervous for her. i told her everyone has had to do these things growing up so she can do it!
hoping it goes good for her. i am taking work off to go be there for her
topic?
How many lake houses is too many
her teacher assigned everyone a historical character, so she is presenting on Cleopatra (eye roll)
Public speaking is a very nervous situation for most everyone. People who naturally enjoy being the center of attention, tend to do the best, which is about 6% of the population.
Tell her this… no one knows what you are planning to say. If you forget something, or miss something, the only person in the room who knows that is you. Don’t worry about it. Also, this is your presentation, so be proud of it, and talk freely. Finally, “to thine ownself be true”. Be yourself, and be relaxed, warm, and confident. You’re gonna rock this!
yep, i told her EVERYONE presenting today is nervous, just like her.
she’ll do good and i told her it will be over before she knows it
Awesome Freezy!
If you are attending, perhaps tell her to focus on you and imagine she is having a conversation with you. As she gets comfortable, look around some, but it’s still her telling ‘you’ a story.
Good advice for sure JR.
Taking Moffit Road to Wishek today, I won’t have to drive one inch on interstate. It’s gonna be a great day.
My Father-in-law lives in Wishek….we are on those roads a lot, probably once a month.
Say hi to Kristin Diede and Bob Anderson, they are somewhere in the fields around Wishek.
I played Baseball and ran track with a Justin Diede from Wishek in Highschool
I dont remember what his parents names were.
Lots of Diede’s in that area.
Also true.
Every farm I look at, I wonder “is that where the bodies are buried?”
LOL!
Nah, he’s just talking about the solar storms that are hitting earth in the next few days. He’s a geophysicist.
If there are any Titanic buffs out there like I am this YouTube Channel is great and has many videos on that Titanic and other maritime disasters/ general subject matter. In this video he has the famous artist that was commissioned to paint the ship and wreck for time magazine and nat geo in the 1980s and worked with James Cameron on the move in 1996. Has some very good stories.
So, do you believe it was sunk on purpose to eliminate certain elites? I believe they were wanting to eliminate the federal reserve or something like that.
I do not. That conspiracy is fun but no I do not. I simply believe human negligence/ego/error and willingness to ignore the red flags of the voyage were the reason for the disaster. He actually has a video on the conspiracy as well!
Hubris. Mankind has not yet developed an ‘unsinkable’ ship.
Yes sir. Such a shame too. If it would have made it it could have become a museum anchored somewhere, it really was beautiful. And to think the tile in the Turkish Bath is down there and is STILL ornate, blue and white and preserved.
Believe it was claimed the Bismark was unsinkable too.
And Molly Brown…
Well…..she made it.
Yep
Do you remember that deleted scene with Kathy Bates sitting in the life boat eating a hot dog watching the ship sink?
Sure do.
😆 😆
Lol – think the other passengers wanted to drown her
I agree with this. Don’t think there was any foul play involved.
Big ass ice berg!
THE RUSSIANS PUT IT THERE TO PLANT THE SEEDS FOR THE US TO JOIN WWI !!!
I’ll watch this
Its about an hour and a half haha
I have a long drive
I have to go to Williston and back tomorrow, too.
Gross
thankfully, I only have two properties in Williston to inspect, so I’ll only be in that shitty town for 30 minutes.
One property in Ray, and one property in Kildeer. The rest of the day is just driving and listening to podcasts.
Have family friends up in Ray. Iv hunted up there a handful of times too when I was growing up
Good coffee shop there, I always stop for a sausage egg & cheese sandwich (with no bread)
Gotta watch those carbs for your summer bod
Celiacs, I can’t eat gluten.
I’m a runner, I actually like carbs. Ran 8 miles the other night, felt amazing to run outside again. First run outside since I broke my ankle in December, been running on the track only.
Hmmm… we still don’t have a QB to warm the bench and mentor our slightly damaged golden boy besides Rypien. With Flacco signing with the Browns, is there any chance that we bring in Rodgers after comp picks have been officially awarded?
More likely a Levis, Wentz, O’Connell is my gut feeling.
Levis doesn’t really fit the mentor role. Thinking Wentz or Tannehill, but they are both looking for starting gigs….
Wentz ? Didn’t he have ‘teammate’ problems in Phily, Indy and Washington?
Not to mention he’s from North Dakota.
Another Plus!!
Amen
The whole ‘teamamate’ problem thing really depends on who you talk too. There are many who say it was absolutely overblown rubbish. I don’t know enough about it to offer an opinion.
Yeah, the locker room, stuff is all anecdotal commentary. I read this about his time with the Colts, but again, it’s based on a reporters interviews with folks in the organization, not really first hand knowledge.
“As for the Colts, the issues with Wentz stretched back to before the season began, one source said, and over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year,”
Didn’t somebody over at the puppy killer website claim to know somebody on the Eagles and was convinced Wentz is a trash human being?
I know he’s a good dude.
Yeah, dunno about that Bow. In the sports entertainment business, and teams in general, you’ll always find someone who doesn’t like someone else. So, it comes with the territory.
I just remember somebody being very adamant from personal experience that he was a horrible person. Not saying he is or is not.
Yeah… with you on that.
No
KOC and Mccown fit the mentor role…
we don’t need a backup MENTOR
If they bring Manion back, I’m going to riot
They DO need a guy who can fill in just in case JJ gets injured.
I’d love to see them bring in Wentz
Tannehill is also acceptable
Rypien is fine as QB2 for now.
I expect 3 QBs on the roster by August.
A big nothing burger, since JJ is never getting hurt ever again.
Let’s hope so, I’ll break out the good rum for Jobu, just in case.
Happy Kirk Tuesday….unfortunately the Vikings are not one of the teams mentioned….
https://nflspinzone.com/2025-nfl-draft-3-teams-who-could-trade-for-kirk-cousins-during-draft
Steelers would be great, I dont think they have a great O line still, he would get sacked – A LOT. Would be fun to watch.
The Saints have a major salary cap issue, but it could happen if the Falcons are willing to eat a lot of of Kirk’s salary
The Vikings aren’t bringing Cousins back. KAM and KOC decided they would move on from him from the day they were hired. The plan was to keep him on one year deals until they got a guy they felt could take the reins. Cousins was too expensive, and they wanted out from under that contract as soon as they possibly could. It was not a matter of Cousins leadership, talent, or play. It was always dollars and cents. Business decision, but it also made Cousins feel unwanted. He ain’t coming back to a place that didn’t want him.
One, Cousins doesn’t have a lot of options at this point.
Two, believe KAM and KOC were of different minds about this. KOC was a lot more in the keep him camp, KAM about the money.
At this point though, doesn’t really matter.
Cousins wants to start. So he won’t come here for that fundamental reason. If he can’t start somewhere, he’ll just hang out in Atlanta and watch that team fail over and over under Raheem Morris. I haven’t seen anything in Penix that makes me think he’ll be anything but average in the NFL. Might be so bad, that they put Cousins back in.
I think you’re right about KOC wanting to keep him, because frankly Cousins is the best QB he’s ever coached. But he also knew from day one that KAM wanted to bring in a rookie, on a rookie contract to run the offense. To that end, next year, I wouldn’t be surprised if KAM drafted a QBOTF to potentially replace McCarthy for the same reason.
QB’s get expensive quick in the NFL.
*Was the 2nd best QB KOC had coached. He would quit if KAM tries to move on from JJ.

McCarthy will likely be quite good. I have to wait and see how well he processes before I can really make any comment on him one way or the other. Every QB in the NFL has talent. The ability to understand defensive schemes, match up’s, tendencies, etc while executing an NFL offense is what sets them apart. Initially KOC will simply tell McCarthy where to go with the ball on every play. Eventually (two years from now) we’ll see if he can truly command the offense and be the General on the field.
Eh, i’d put Darnold as first or second. JJ will be first once he has more starts.
KOC also coached Stafford and nobody with more than 2 brain cells thinks Cousins is better than Stafford. JJ will be #1 by the end of the year.
Ohhhhhh, I thought you meant as HC.
I doubt that. Stafford is better. JJ will be better in time, since he works on Tuesdays and is focused on winning vs just moneybags.
Everyone has an opinion… I accept that.
Yup, kirk has no options or leverage at this point. Gonna be the highest paid backup this year. It’s gotta be eating at him because for the most part, he’s been able to control his destiny and now he can do nothing about it.
He has all the leverage. He has a no trade clause, and guaranteed money. The Falcons are the ones who are over a barrel without any leverage.
Yeah, he has the guaranteed money, but has no leverage on forcing a trade. If the falcons want him to ride the pine, he can do nothing about it.
Of course he can force a trade. He’s the ONLY person who can force a trade. That’s the purpose of a no trade clause. The Falcons don’t want the most expensive backup QB in the league riding the pine. For some reason they chose this path though, and they are ones who are stuck.
Raheem Morris is a dolt when it comes to being a head coach. He’s proven it twice already, and he’ll prove it a third time in Atlanta.
Morris is terrible. Ever watch a game? He spends about 70% of his time looking up and watching the big screen in the stadium. Every time they show him he’s looking up at it. Watch sometime lol.
A terrible HC. Have an idea how he got the job, but will let it pass.
Nope, he can’t force shit. The falcons own his rights this season and are ok paying that money because they have Penix on a rookie contract. He’s their insurance policy in case Penix gets hurt.
Yep, they’ll cut him after this year, when they can do so with a lower dead cap hit. Still gonna hurt, but not as badly. Kirk is sitting on the bench this year if the Falcons say so.
Eh, getting paid exorbitant amounts to do almost nothing and not get crushed by huge D-line players? I’m sure he’s in tears about it…
Then he should retire, like he should have after 2020
Not sure where he got 25 million from for 2025. Looks like of they trade him they take a 50 mil cap hit and he’s sure 18.
.
Looks like the Phins cap hit drops to 6.7 mil if he’s traded after 6/1 (or if he’s cut after 6/1).
Not for that money.
Any team trading for him would not owe that amount of money. There are a lot of restructure, roster, signing bonuses. I’m not sure how much of that would stay with the Dolphins.
That’s a lot of future money to shuffle around. If the Dolphins want to take that on, then I’m all for it. I think he’s going to be on the decline soon.
Yep, he’s 30 years old, he’s not gonna get any better, and his decline is right around the corner.
Kirk Tuesday has at least given Tuesday an identity.
That and tacos, I guess.
I prefer Tacos personally.
Yummy, I love tacos. One of my favorite foods. Doesn’t have to be traditional either. I like fish tacos and love shrimp tacos.
Shrimp with a good pico or mango salsa and some baja style sauce. Shut. It. Down.
Bearded?
GM!
FTP!
SKOL!
I bet JJ is doing some football work again today.
Unlike our former QB that has now found his place as a backup.
