Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
It’s day two of the 2025 NFL draft. Day one was fairly uneventful, with no major surprises or splash moves by any team. One exception was ESPN having a semi-aneurysm over Shadeur Sanders not being selected early. I’m not sure if the other networks made a big deal of it, but I lost count of how many times ESPN had Mel Kiper on the air grumbling about how Sanders was projected to be selected third overall and teams were “missing out” by not taking him. I dunno, Mel, maybe the teams’ scout teams and GMs all disagree with your projection?
I was also annoyed at Mark Murphy taking what felt like a month to announce the Packers pick. Good grief. Most teams select a kid or a fan to announce their pick, but not Murphy. Nah, he gets up there himself & becomes a long-winded preacher. I dunno, I’m probably just complaining because it’s the Packers, and I have an irrational hatred of them. It’s football, I’m allowed that.
Other than the Jags moving up to pick 2 to select Travis Hunter, day one of the draft was pretty mundane. A few surprises, but nothing major. The Vikings did NOT trade back with their first pick, and used the 24th pick to beef up in the trenches by selecting Donovan Jackson, a beefy offensive guard out of Ohio State (Ted will be happy). Looking at what the Texans got for pick 25, I believe the Vikings were wise to stay put. The Texans traded pick 25 to the Giants, moved back 9 spots to pick 34, and received a 3rd round pick (99) and a 2026 3rd round pick. I think KAM learned from mistakes in previous drafts, and was wise to turn down that offer (if the Giants offered, which I think they likely did). Moving back 10 spots and out of the first round is too big of a backwards jump for only two 3rd round picks.
Donovan Jackson G
I think this was a solid pick, many sites listed Jackson as the #2 guard in the draft, and I can see why. Jackson was a 3-year starter at Ohio State, and performed at an elite level, even against top-tier defenses. Jackson earned three First-Team All-Big Ten selections, and got All-American nods from numerous sites. He received Distinguished Scholar honors, so he performed as well off the field as he did on the field. Dude put up 32 reps on the bench, putting him in the top 6% of the entire combine, so he’s as strong as an ox. He’s also versatile, as he slid over to left tackle seamlessly, not allowing a sack all season.
Here are some notes from NFL draftbuzz:
- Imposing frame with ideal mass (320 lbs) and leverage, coupled with exceptional arm length, providing an elite power base for the position
- Core strength and anchor are NFL-ready – watch him stone rush attempts from Michigan’s front seven in their rivalry matchup
- Shows nasty finishing instinct in the run game, consistently driving defenders five yards off the ball before planting them
- Elite football IQ evident in how quickly he diagnoses and neutralizes complex defensive line stunts and twists
- Grip strength is special – once he locks onto defenders’ chest plate, they rarely break free before the whistle
- Rare versatility proven by seamless transition to left tackle midseason – didn’t allow a single sack in college playoff games
- Initial punch packs serious thunder and his length keeps defenders from getting into his frame
- Shows excellent coordination between upper and lower body, maintaining leverage through contact while driving feet

NFL News
NFL draft-going Irate fans at 2025 NFL Draft briefly denied entry after draft venue in Green Bay reaches maximum capacity – CBSSports.com, per CBS Sports. Well, no kidding, what do you expect when you host the event in Mayberry? I saw one person on Twitter say that Green Bay’s version of a five-star restaurant is Red Lobster.
CBS Sports hands out 2025 NFL Draft grades for each Round 1 pick. Total exercise in futility, you can’t grade a draft pick until they’ve been in the league at least a couple years.
The Packers chose a WR in the first round for the first time in 23 years, per NFL.com. I bet Aaron Rodgers is mad, he was begging them to draft a top WR & they drafted his replacement instead.
The Giants traded up to 25 to select Ole Miss QB Jackson Dart, per NFL.com. Mel Kiper’s head probably exploded.

Happy to see Louisville’s Gillotte drafted, he was really good for us, but did it have to be the Chiefs, UGH.
Laughing. I was over on the draft thread GF posted, but after a while, it looks like I was home alone there, grin. Either the other folks went to bed, or they lost interest.
I don’t see a QB needy team left in the second round other than the Raiders.
Steelers?
Steelers apparently don’t have a second round pick. Looks like Sanders is headed to the third round, or worse.
Draft thread is up! It ain’t much, but it’s the best I can do from my phone for right now. We’re at Oceanaire, heading to the Wolves afterward.
Have fun guys 🙂
When do we pick?
3rd round
Thanks. Might take a while from Rd 2 pick 53 then? Been a while since I watched the draft live.
#97 unless we trade back to tomorrow.
Will Johnsons long wait is over, Picked by Zone at 47.
Looks like the Cards took Will Johnson
Wonder if the Rams will take Sanders?
Surprised Mike Green is still available as well.
Nope, TE out of Oregon.
Not watching the proceedings tonight. Is Kiper still losing his wig over Sanders? Looks like Will Johnson is still out there too.
‘Will Johnson is still out there too’
Injured hammy and then the story about his knee came out just before the draft.
He did not dispute the story so must be at least partially true. Sad.
Yep… was highly touted this year as a top 5 pick. Injuries ended all that, obviously. No idea about the type of knee injury, but it must be serious.
Sanders was just pick by the Bills!!
Oh wait, that was TJ Sanders a DL from South Carolina.
Laughing… OK, you got me.
Well plaid 🙂
Just saw the Saints picked a QB… but it wasn’t Sanders. Tyler Shough. Bet Kiper is losing his mind over that one.
The Teacher said someone on BookFace posted that Sanders had his own special room build for the draft.
Talked big smack before the draft, eating crow now.
Evidently his ‘Draft Room’ has a shelf with 20 hats so he would be ready for whomever drafted him.
Boy Scout motto… be prepared… he was ready to be picked, he was not prepared to be dismissed and ignored.
Saw that, holy cow! Happy for Shough. Hope he can stay healthy.
Seems like a good kid.
Of course I have the sound off and only checking periodically.
But with your recommendation I will go with ‘good kid’.
Let’s say “good guy”, he’ll be 26 in September. He’s been through a lot, showed perseverance, determination, leadership, strong work ethic.. High football IQ. Played well for us, stayed healthy all year, and Jeff Brohm’s NFL style offense helped him. Prior to his time at Louisville, though, lots of injuries.
QB’s tend to get injured behind bad lines. Broke my collar bone behind one.
Yikes, sorry.
Yep… that’s always one of my key concerns. Staying healthy. Hope he does well.
Sanders watching his potential bank acccount…..
I don’t feel sorry for him.
As entitled as The CryBaby but with less physical talent.
Teddy Bridgewater without the A+ personality.
Yep.
Tyler Shough to the Saints. Sanders still at home with nowhere to go.
So freaking hilarious 😆 🤣😂
Not gonna watch the draft tonight. I’m gonna watch “Rooster Cogburn”. Love the interplay between John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn. Their dialogue throughout the movie is the best part IMO.
Chisum is better.
Have to say I liked McClintock too.
To me, going into the draft, the two key areas of need were Offensive Guard, and Cornerback. I liked the pick last night, though now of course we have to see if the guy can do the job in the pro’s. At this point finding a top shelf corner is likely beyond our reach though.
Too me, going into the draft the 2 key areas of need were DBs and TEs.
Depth more than anything else. Well there is still 3 picks, UDFAs, remaining FAs plus anyone cut post draft.
So I am not terribly worried about this draft, never was.
At Monticello.
i’ll get another thread put together when we get to the hotel room.
There is plenty of uneasiness regarding Trump’s tariff management to reshape the U.S. economy. There are global impacts in his actions, and hurting China is absolutely an objective to Trump.
The Financial Times is reporting Apple could start assembling all U.S.-bound iPhones in India instead of China as soon as next year, a shift driven by Trump’s trade deals and a blow to China. Additionally, China reportedly quietly slashed tariffs on some U.S.-made semiconductors, which could help stabilize electronics prices and ease trade tensions.
When I read between the lines with what Trump is doing, I see his plan slowly but surely choking China. He’s opening new markets in dozens of other countries, and they see the value of working with the U.S. vice China.
While this is still going to take a while, I see huge benefits to the U.S. coming.
I do hope you are right
‘There is plenty of uneasiness regarding Trump’s tariff management’
Change is hard.
But we can leave everything the way it is until the country drives off a cliff or we can change things up to try and fix it.
Of course the crooks are screaming the loudest trying to stir up ‘unease’ and there are some that are buying into that. coughMTcough
The only chance the Dems have to regain political power and win some seats in the midterms is to make sure the economy fails. They all know that what Trump is doing is fundamentally right for the country. It is truly the correct path to follow to increase prosperity, long term. They have even spoken to this on many occasions. They just never did anything about it. Now, they have to fight Trump and create distrust and anger within the voting blocks, to win some elections. It’s bad for the country, but it’s the only way the Dem’s can win. So, fight on, destroy Trump, wreck our prosperity, and win.
I really thought they’d pull a draft day trade. Still might, I suppose.
I thought that as well GF. I do think we have so little draft capital that a trade up is going to be hard, but maybe if KAM traded Cousins, we could get something for him.
I thought they might trade Adderall
I’ll say something unpopular here. I’d be good with that.
I was ok with stick and pick if they player that they wanted was there. This roster needs quality more than it does quantity. We can get UDFA camp bodies.
Of course short trade back for an extra pick are welcome if you still get a player you covet.
I leave for a few minutes and ***boom*** 200 more comments.
The Browns and the Bears have 4 of the first 9 picks tonight. Wonder if anyone makes an offer to get one of those picks?
421
Can’t see watching draft for 4 1/2 hours with one compensatory pick. Not very exciting.
Dont. Got T pups at 8:30CST
Like to see Vegas and Lakers lose.
We’ll be there, just going by Osakis. Got reservations at Oceanaire at 6:45, get done eating & head to the game.
Watch for the mystery fouls.
Oh, I’ll be heckling LeBron. He won’t hear me cause I’m a quarter mile away, but I’ll still be heckling.
I’m always around boys……
Nearing that 420 mark brings a smile to my face. And also snacks to my face. Because…… munchies.
SKOL
🔨🔨🔨
I get the munchies HARD
Same here. That said, off to get some snacks.
Hope all is going well, amigo!
Think I’m learning.
All these years I thought the Niners were so good year after year cause they were great at drafting and developing players coupled with some excellent coaching.
We need Mjolnir to chime in here.
We are not at 420 comments yet, and the season has begun, or at least there is NFL things happening.
Channeling all energy to call upon Mjolnir and the glorious 420
I’m laughing here Surly. We have 400 some comments about pretty much nothing…
Think i’ll worry about 2026 next year. (Lord willing)
Amen
AMEN. Win the SB this year and no one will care to much about 26.
Hell, we might be calling each other Comrade by then. The future is now..
Also this
And look I quoted my source, on Zone Coverage. So I didnt pull this from my ass.
Irrelevant baldersash. Trust me bro.
His counter is now ” I thought 2026 doesn’t exist” – He’s being willingly ignorant instead of admitting he was wrong and started an argument over something petty and then insulted me and got mad when I fired back.
Today we are third worst in the NFL in cap space for next year as I stated. You said we were sitting pretty for next year. This commentary shows that we have avenues to deal with our current state.
Good data, good commentary. But not done and dusted, so today, we are not in great shape compared to the rest of the league in cap space for next year.
We are better. Because our roster is better, and the team has more flexibility with the higher priced contracts than most teams.
The quality of the roster is very good. No one is arguing that.
You are getting all of this because I used the term “sitting pretty”. And you are arguing this because what we know is going to happen because it happens every season and because of what I posted above, simply hasnt happened yet.
Except I never misrepresented or exaggerated anything.
Stay on the porch son.
I think that was my point all along.
We are no longer saddled with Kirko/Hunter stupid contracts (Thanks Wryck) and the team has flexibility.
For now, they have enough room to sign whomever they draft, and could pick up a free agent or two as well.
KAM extended Cousins and added void years to his contract though. Not Rick.
The first Kirk extension, and the one that I consider the biggest boondoggle since the Hershel Walker trade, was on Wryck.
Kwesi did extend Kirk, fully guaranteed, and kicked the can down the road to stay competitive vs tear down rebuild.
I think that was stupid, but I am not the GM. I am glad he played hardball on the current contracts. At least, the team has more flexibility.
Well, Rick did bring in a QB that set franchise records, and played at a high level for 5 different OC’s in 6 years.
Hang the franchise record banners!
You must be like 5 years old…
I hear we are talking about caps! I like this one…
The Caps are 2-0 up over the Canadiens, playing tonight.
That’s a nice cap.
Just got back from some golf and got completely lost in reading the 26 Cap Space discussion.
Now since I know about as much about cap numbers as breeding zebras, I have just one sort of basic question which may help
Can two items be true at the same time even if they seem contradictory?
Breeding zebras seems like a very black and white process.
But appearantly evaluating cap space isn’t.
The point is someone said we are sitting pretty in cap space next year, and that doesn’t match up with current data. We are third worst in the league today.
I think the gist of the argument is, where we sit today for NEXT season’s cap really does not matter for this year. Team will be different, players will be cut, and the cap will increase.
For this season, the team looks good. For next season, Kwesi and Bryz will have work to do.
You are correct, but going way back to the beginning here (before the conversation went loony tunes) the poster said “correct me if I’m wrong” then said we were sitting pretty on cap space for next year. I corrected him, because right now, today, he is wrong.
That is all.
Not having a bunch of scheduled dead money and having contracts with flexibility built into them is sitting good to some. One data point does not a situation make, especially when the data point used to back your argument is false.
That of course is a contributing factor, but it still all adds up to today we’re third worst in the league in cap space next year at minus $17M+.
That has been my singular point all day. You can spin it any way you want, but them’s the facts.
Laughing so hard, GF. Nice!
So please explain.
You said in 26 we are projected to be in worst (later third) cap position in the league – true?
Others said that’s 26 and a lot can change like restructuring, new cap numbers etc, so no big deal – true?
If both of these things are true, what’s the argument?
I really don’t understand.
I said TODAY we were the worst (earlier based on data returned from an AI search and now revised) when someone stated that we were sitting pretty in 2026 on cap space. That’s all I said, and that commentary is accurate. We will get under the cap, because of course we have to, but today, we are third worst compared to the rest of the league.
People want to spin things, and argue, but today is today, and today, we’re third worst in the league. I don’t call that “sitting pretty”.
So both are TRUE.
“Sitting pretty” is perhaps more of a artful phrase as 12 – 18 months can be a lifetime in the NFL.
Thanks Jrob. That was exactly my point and I felt it was obvious and a given. The team will be fine, we will be fine cap wise and will more than likely have double digit picks next April. All in all, sitting pretty. Thats all.
Not having dead money on the books already, like $28 million for a player on a different team, is sitting pretty to me.
That was a management decision to put that money on the books, though. Not the players. It was a tool to kick debt down the road. Blame management for their decisions Bow.
I didn’t blame anybody. It was a fact and is not the case for 2025 and beyond.
It is a fact, but why say something like that? We have a negative cap space situation today, so who cares what portion of it is dedicated to players no longer on the team?
Why bring up a relevant example? And no, with rollover and other predictions of the 2026 base cap space, the Vikings are projected to have a little over $1 million in cap space in 2026.
You said the cap for 2026 didn’t exist though, so where are you now coming up with this data?
I said according to other projections that are more relevant than “trust me bro”. None of them are right, accurate, or relevant.
I never work on “trust me bro”.
If I used your standard of citing sources, I would be out of a job and fined if not arrested.
First you claim I don’t use sources, now it’s a different argument. Make up your mind.
This cap issue is not my thing. And I don’t really care so much about 26. Lot can change pretty quickly in the NFL.
We have built up our lines and there is no reason we can’t win the SB THIS year.
I believe thinking like well if we don’t do it this year, there’s always 26 and we’ll be stronger. Think that’s a bad slippery slope.
The only point here is someone stated today we are sitting pretty on the cap next year, and I said currently we are not. That is a fact, and the rest of this blather is a bunch hooey.
It is not a fact though. It is a perception. The 2026 cap situation can be interpreted in different ways. Not having dead money and having contracts built with flexibility is “sitting pretty” to some. Your perception of reality based on limited inputs does not make it fact. It is a different interpretation of the situation which you even admit is fluid yet you choose to dig your heels in and move the goalposts.
You can spin it all you want. Today we are third worst in the NFL in cap space for 2026. That is not sitting pretty. The Chargers are over $156M ahead us in cap space. That is sitting pretty.
Well, OK.
But I’m in a position of one here. I want to win the SB this year and don’t care that much about 26.
Disclaimer – with in reason, I’m not saying throwing everything over the cliff for 25.
I think the team is in great shape this year. I also know we’ll deal with the cap next year, somehow. I only argued the point that today we are not in good shape on the cap next year.
Since I believe we have a SB ready roster now, and haven’t even played ONE game in 25 yet, I’m not real worried about 26.
I’m not either JR. I’m simply correcting the narrative. Today, we are not “sitting pretty” on cap space for next year, as was claimed.
Maybe we’re ” sitting pretty” or we’re “not siting pretty” in 26.
Will anyone give a shit about that if we WIN the SB this year after decades of failure.
I don’t give a shit about it now. He said “correct me if I’m wrong” so I did.
With your opinion based on one non updated link on google. “corrected”
And that data was actually pretty close. It cited it’s source BTW, so you’re whole commentary is BS.
It is indeed.
Yep.
No Hunter or Kirko fully guaranteed money sink.
Team is fine.
Laughing. being third worst in the NFL in cap space is sitting pretty…
If your business was $17M in the hole JR, would you say you’re sitting pretty? Of course not. You would do the work to get healthy, but you wouldn’t be crowing about how you’re $17M in the hole today.
Vikings are in the black as it stands today. Not $17 Mill in the hole.
Interesting data, but Bow said there is no cap number for 2026 yet…
Yet you continue to say the Vikings are negative in cap space. There is no cap number for 2026, simply projections and guesses.
It’s called comparative analysis…
Here’s the link, its literally the second search result under the one you clicked on earlier today old man. Dont play dumb.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/minnesota-vikings/overview/_/year/2026
Well tell it to Bow son, he’s the one that made the comment in case you can’t read.
Depends on if I have good reason to be in the hole (short term expense for long term gain) and amount of time I have to rectify the situation.
I actually could be ‘sitting pretty’ being negative in the short term.
And what is today is well known to not be the same tomorrow. Which is why I made that statement. What you did below was the equivalent of nit picking one word in an argument then sticking your head in the sand the rest of the time.
Yeah….. but who has a ladder that tall?
Can confirm.
Yes
On my vacation my Calif family/friends told me about how their insurance/utility bills have gone up, in some cases 4X as much.
I explained how the Idaho utilities petitioned to the state to be able to lower their rates and how our insurance is less than half what it was in Calif and we get quarterly rebates on that.
They are jelly and now figuring out if they can leave and if so how soon they can evacuate as well.
It’s so strange how the Dems can have such tangible negative effects on people’s lives, and yet folks by the millions still vote for them.
Don’t think many of my friends/family voted for the Ds.
My mom is old and does not recognize logic any more, my brother is rich enough that it doesn’t bother him. His wife is a radical woke type so he goes along to get along.
Laughing… my wife would say, “yeah, he’s always going to be him, and I’m never gonna change that”.
Not really, been decades of indoctrination.
True, the liberal propaganda machine is exceptional.
Surprised that was the last straw for them to want to leave Cali after all the BS in the last 8ish years or more.
So…i have a question about the 2026 cap..
The Vikings will cease to be a team in 2026 because they are over the cap according to some mysterious internet source so it is irrelevant.
I like this one.
Minnesota Vikings The League Black 9FORTY Adjustable Hat
Laughing… I just checked OTC. Today they show the Vikings as 3rd worst in the NFL in 2026, at $17,225,322 over the cap for 2026. That number and positioning is different than what my AI search came back with earlier today.
The Chargers are ranked first with $139,041,998.
We’re only $156,267,320 behind them.
Chargers are $139M over the cap?
Or they have a $139M total in contracts currently for 2026.
$139M over the cap seems a bit much even for a Blue State.
I don’t know, have you seen what Gavin Newsom did to that state budget?
More of a deficit than Tampon?
Hard to beat, but yes
https://apnews.com/article/california-budget-deficit-gov-gavin-newsom-8f502d57d00d551c0b6b6331367f7a25
Yep, they are holding onto our tax rebate until/unless we send them a bunch of documents to prove who we are. Delaying with the hope that we will quit trying.
I lived what Greasy Galvin did, that is why I am a proud resident of Idaho now.
Chargers are on the plus side, at a $139M+ over the cap limit.
Almost like it’s an always changing number and looking over a year into the future is irrelevant.
Almost like you can’t admit that the data today says we’re not sitting pretty on cap space in 2026.
More like looking at 1% of the data paints a less than rosy picture but if you take everything into account they are just fine.
Laughing so hard Bow… that’s rich.
https://x.com/i/grok/share/tZ4i5qvsOZZPkB6qk4sFEa7Nc
Today, the Vikings have the 3rd worst salary cap projection in the NFL for 2026. In the future things will change, for every single team.
That is my point, and my only point all day long.
I am sorry you cannot understand simple English.
I’m done trying to teach algebra to my lab. You’re trying to spout a simple statement/conclusion to a complex problem.
You’re done, because you have no salient point that can actually disprove my comment. To be clear.
I have directly proven how you are categorically wrong and you choose to try and further simplify a complex equation and move the goal posts.
He has to be a Russian AI that infiltrated the site and has become sentient lol. I’ve never interacted with someone this dense in my entire life.
You have spewed conjecture, that might occur, and not facts of the day. You have not disproven my point in any regard. just shouted rhetoric.
You literally quoted false data as facts and refuse to take into account the whole situation and the reality that nothing is set in stone for 2026. What some website says today means absolutely nothing. 2025 has not even started. Worrying about it now is like worrying about who farted in church next Sunday, totally pointless. The fact is, you don’t have all the facts or data and what you have tried to use and quote was false.
I literally quoted data I researched. I found that data was slightly off. Today we’re third worst in the NFL in cap space for 2026 according to OTC.
You did not quote or cite anything. You regurgitated and said “trust me bro”.
I cited data from a source, Bro.
No. You did not cite anything. Your version of “citing” would get you kicked out of college. “I read it somewhere” doesn’t count as citing. When you finally REFERENCED a source, that source proved to show data that did not align with your statements.
Laughing… you crack me up Bow. We have people here making completely non data related commentary, and I never do that. I checked and quoted a source.
Ladies and Gentleman, the all powerful and all knowing’s hard research!!
It is Kirk’s fault.
Obviously
Some folks said the site got buggy last night. I’ll post a new thread for the draft tonight.
I’ll have to talk to the developers, it shouldn’t bog down after 200-300 comments
My whole internet got boggy last night, not just here.
Good to know. The site seemed to work OK for me, but I did notice comments were a bit slow to refresh. I was on mobile, though.
It was periodically slow for me. Other times it was normal. One time I was going to the home page and it took so long, it timed out.
Similar to my issues.
I made the original comment last night. Don’t know if it was the site, my internet or my computer.
I had several pages opened to follow the draft but none of the other pages seemed to have had issues which is why I asked the question.
Seems like there’s no comments then you see 14.
Late to the party…….funny story.
I got a new laptop Monday, still getting used to new features. When I created the link to Skoloholics it was Monday, and the Easter blog was still up.
Apparently, my laptop copied that exact link. All week long I’ve been clicking on the link, seeing the Easter blog, and wondering what the H happened to all of you, why weren’t you posting anything, did someone not pay the bill?
Anyway, finally thought of clicking on the home page link up top and HERE YOU ARE!!!
Missed you guys/gals, glad you’re OK.
Oh, good pick.
Glad you found us. Sounds like something I would do.
Happy Friday Skolbrosephs!
Very happy with the pick last night. Would’ve been fine trading back but I think we landed a mauler – one who stepped up when needed and excelled at another position on the line. Very happy with this pick.
Read from Tom Pelissero that Minny might be looking to trade up into the 2nd/higher in the 3rd to target an RB. Something to keep an eye on…..
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
🔨🔨🔨
I think the Mason signing makes RB less likely. A late flyer would be ok, but more likely I think if they had more picks. They still have Chandler and will probably end up trading for Akers again anyway.
I think Jones will be gone next year, so they may target someone to pair with Mason next year
RBs can contribute pretty easily year 1 so I’d look to take care of that next year. Might even get a surprise from a UDFA RB this year. If they had more picks it would make more sense to me, but I don’t think you bring in somebody that will be the third RB this year.
Reasonable
Yes….. I too am waiting for our yearly move for Akers. I’m all for them continuing the trenches trend. I think it’s unlikely, but if Omar Norman-Lott is there at 97 you’ll hear me pounding the table in Lincoln. Love that kid and think we need to address IDL despite signing Hargrave & Allen given they’re both north of 30.
PHYRE GMBG!!
I also thought Mark Murphy took a ridiculous amount of time to announce the packers pick, it irritated me, plus he’s a soulless ginger witch only makes it worse
I think he is retiring so that was kind of his last hoorah. I thought it was funny when he asked how many “owners” were in the crowd.
Did you see Clay Matthews? That was pretty funny.
Yeah, I laughed when he said “owners”
Yup, funny shit. My son and I looked at each other and just chuckled. We here about it a little more here in cheeseland.
…..hear
soulless ginger witch or which or both?
Kiper is fuming
Sanders is a conceited tool, just like his father. I hope he falls to round 6 (though I think round 2 or 3 is likely).
Honestly, I don’t know much about Sanders, except I will tell you he sees defenses well, pre-snap.
He has talent, but will he be a “star” like his dad? Dunno.
He’s Teddy Bridgewater with a bunch of drama.
OK. As I said, I haven’t invested any time in knowing anything about him.
BTW, isn’t Teddy available this year?
I think he’s pretty locked into coaching high school right now. Seems like he really enjoys it, good for him. I bet he’s a great coach & role model.
He is definitely all that GF.
Seems very entitled.
I am expecting Cleveland to take him today.
My buddy will be PISSED
Lets make it happen!
That seafood gumbo was amazing last night. Yum
Glad it turned out!
I’ll post the recipe on here when I get back.
If I remember.
i’m really hoping that with the new aggressive approach the vikes are taking on building the trenches, we finally won’t be wimpy when it comes to getting that PUSH we need when we need it the most.
I feel like the last few years when we needed a yard we could never get that. Or when we needed defensive line pressure/run stuffing, we couldn’t…
I’m hoping this ends the era of the wimps!!
Yup, get them better on the goal line, too. The last few years, if they had first and goal on the one, they were better off losing 9 yards. They had a better chance of getting in from the 10 then they did from the 1.
Yep… 100%
Yes, it was extremely frustrating to watch.
They need to do something. I sometimes wake up screaming at the thought we might have met the Eagles in the playoffs last year.
Can you imagine what they would have done to our OL?
Yep… this is completely accurate.
Not to jump the gun and someone please correct me if I am wrong, Vikes are in line to have A LOT of draft capitol next year if im not mistaken. Could be in line for 2-3 comp picks as it stands right now? So we would have double digit picks? If thats accurate, between that and the cap we are going to be sitting very pretty for the future.
i think for sure 2 comp picks. the same as we got for Kirk this year, for sam darnold next year #97, and then they are suggesting a 5th for robinson as well…
i’d rather have more picks next year, than in this years draft which didn’t have a ton of STUDS.
Exactly. Nailed it Freezy. Im excited. Teams in good shape.
Yup, I’m pretty sure they’ve got their 1-4 anyway which will be nice.
I hear we will get a comp pick for Robinson if he hits all his incentives. Don’t know how likely that is, but it is possible.
So if they sign any FAs that effect the cap before the 29th it is possible that they could lose 1 or possibly 2 counting Robinson.
which is why we won’t sign anyone until we are in the comp pick clear
They should get something for Jones too.
The Vikings now have the least cap space of any NFL team in 2026; OTC has them at nearly $26 million over the limit.
And that well be remedied in time like always.
You said with our cap space we’re sitting pretty next year. $26M in the hole is not good.
There will be a lot of restructuring going on, and maybe trading players or cutting them, next year. We’re in bad shape with the cap.
Sorry, but this is the reality.
Does OTCs number account for the cap going up? And yes restructuring and trading will be done, those are not inherently bad things. Vikes will be under the cap, and have lots of draft capitol to fill the holes. This is the reality.
They state the situation as current for all teams, and thus we are in the worst shape in the league in regards to the cap.
THE WORST.
What is wrong with your brain cells?
KAM has done a good job of signing short contracts that are back loaded. That number will be much different at the beginning of the league year next year.
Obviously the cap can be managed GF. But, it will not be painless. You pointed out Jones situation, which I agree, will be one move that will help a lot.
This whole discussion started with a statement that we are sitting pretty with cap next year, and that is pretty much patently false. All the blather after that is all just that. Blather to mask the original commentary.
Not blather, facts. The way they structure contracts is wise, they can get out at the end of the contract. There will be many cuts or trades, it’s part of the process. It’s often not as simple as just looking at a number.
You act like they have a plan or something. Obviously the Vikings are a rudderless ship in stormy waters and will end up having to fold the team in 2026 because they have failed to plan.
The fact is TODAY they are in the worst shape in the league regarding cap space for next year, and the comment was “we’re sitting pretty”
We’re not, and there will be a lot of changes made next year to get healthy under the cap.
You are ignoring the fact that they have most definitely planned for 2026. The fact is TODAY they have zero wins so therefore 2025 is a loss. It’s not as simple as a meaningless number on some website. This is calculus here, not 2+2. Try to ignore it, but it means nothing. There is a bigger picture.
I’m not ignoring anything. I’m stating a fact you want to argue is not a fact.
And you are choosing to ignore the FACT then that the Vikings have zero wins for 2025 and therefore this year is a bust.
Laughing so hard… man, you have issues Bow. You take a comment about the 2026 cap space, and turn it into a comment on wins and losses this year. Inane argument.
Because you are taking a stupid position with zero intellect. The Vikings are really screwed in 2026 since they don’t have a GM too.
OH… you say something stupid because I have little intellect??? Yeah, you’re being so smart here Bow.
If you can’t look into a complex situation beyond what some website says today then yes, that is a stupid take. Just as stupid as thinking 2025 is a bust because the fact is that today the internet says the Vikings have zero wins. They have a plan. They’re not getting paid millions of dollars to not plan for the future and contracts change. The fact is that you have no idea how they sit for cap space in 2026. Nobody does.
We are sitting pretty, it’s not 2026 yet.
And when it is 2026, will be sitting pretty again. Just wait and see.
Today, we are $26M in the hole for 2026. This is the worst position in the league. That is not sitting pretty.
Exactly.
In that case, the team is looking horrible this year. They haven’t won a single game for goodness sake. Might as well pack it in since future moves mean nothing today.
That’s about as apples to oranges as it gets GF. No one is talking about how good or bad the team is this year.
Zero wins is zero wins. They can’t do anything about it. The numbers are what the numbers are.
We’re talking cap space for 2026 as of today. Apparently you do not understand this.
You obviously only understand elementary math. There is more to it. Next year will matter next year and what the raw numbers say today means nothing.
I understand that people will spin things to confuse a simple point.
Today we are $26M in the hole for 2026 and that is the worst cap position in the league. Today, we are not “sitting pretty” as was stated.
Until you go through all of the contracts, non-guaranteed money, etc, you can not say they are not sitting good. You are taking a ridiculously simplistic view of a complex situation.
Stating a fact.
Yes, from a second grade level of thinking, it is a fact. From an adult level thinking, they are just fine. Unless you can show me how they are not going to be able to move money, then you are taking an elementary position just to be stubborn.
Today we are not sitting pretty with cap space for 2026. That’s the comment I made, and it is accurate. It will take work to get us healthy.
For anyone to argue that is second grade thinking, is ridiculous.
You act like they don’t have a plan for 2026 which is dumb. It’s not like they’re just going to wake up in February and be like “oh shit, how did this happen? I guess we’re screwed now.”
No, YOU act like I think that. I never said it. It’s these types of false narratives you always pursue that trip you up Bow.
You have. You don’t even know what their cap is going to be. There will be carry over from this year and nobody even knows what the cap will be. Plus, even your source disagrees with your “FACT” that the Vikings have the highest cap hit as of today, in 2026. You’re spouting “facts” and you can’t even read your own references properly. They have zero dead hit in 2026 as of today, and according to Spotrac are actually under the cap already, not taking into account carry over cap space and contract changes that will be made between now and then. There is no false narrative to say that they have a plan and things will change. Worrying about a number that you don’t even know and that will change is a false narrative pushed by elementary thinking.
Spin, spin, spin, Bow. The fact is, regardless of the cap next year, compared to the rest of the league, we’re in the worst cap position. Dead last.
Try and understand that point, and see that muddying the waters with spin, does you no good.
‘Context’ is a thing.
Nope, your own source proves you wrong. Go take a nap.
I took a moment and looked it up on line, and the comment that came back, is what I posted.
So you have no actual data and just made shit up. That tracks. You don’t even have a source and are just spouting crap with no data and anybody who disagrees with you needs to just bow to your “facts” that you don’t have any evidence to. Got it.
The source quoted was OTC. I made nothing up. I never make anything up. Ever.
Huh, OTC does not actually say that the Vikings have the least projected cap space as of today in 2026 so my point stands. Your “facts” do not exist. Not to mention that does not take into account carry over, which as of right now the Vikings have more than about 10-12 teams in the league.
I looked up “worst NFL cap space in 2026” and this is the data that was returned, and the source quoted was OTC.
The fact of the matter is that what you are spouting as fact is proven blatantly false by the source you are quoting. Your argument is irrelevant. You can provide no real source to back your elementary argument and instead of realizing you came into this with a narrow view and false information you choose to continue trying to replace the true facts with your own reality.
I actually looked up “Vikings salary cap 2026” Bow. Sorry about that.
Here is what the AI search engine came up with:
“The Vikings now have the least cap space of any NFL team in 2026; OTC has them at nearly $26 million over the limit.”
As I said, I never, ever, make shit up. I will go to the sites and do another evaluation on my own.
I’ll see what’s what here.
Except you never post a link to these articles. Going ” I googled it” doesnt cut it. Remember this convo about a shitty back up QB and you used ” I read an article in 2019 that said it so its fact” as your argument. Come on dude, get real.
Laughing… stay on the porch son. You can always you know, actually look shit up before you say something like “we’re sitting pretty on cap space next year”.
Or just yell “facts” without sources other than I told you so. That works well too.
Facts instead of total conjecture always work son.
Nothing you have said was a fact.
Everything I have said is a fact.
We will be well in the black in cap space come first snap in 2026, yes or yes? Yes or yes?
Of course we will. That is not sitting pretty. That simply means we will cut players, change their contracts, or trade them to get under the cap.
Duh. I’m sorry you don’t understand English, or what the term “sitting pretty” means. The Chargers are sitting pretty. We are not.
The Vikings will have average cap space after restructures and regular off season shenanigans and will not be anywhere close to worst in the league come first snap of 2026, yes or yes?
Will have… but currently do not. You said we are sitting pretty for next year. Currently that is not a true statement.
And yet you lack foresight into the future and are willingly ignoring that the cap will increase next year on top of us being able to make moves with money before this time next year. What is wrong with your brain cells yuh dense dick? Jesus. Go swing a club and relax.
You said we were sitting pretty on cap space for 2026. We’re not. We have to make some choices, and changes before we’re sitting pretty.
Sorry, that is reality. You asked to be corrected, and I corrected you.
What is the salary cap in 2026?
Look it up
That’s the point you dunce. It can’t be looked up because it doesn’t exist so anything you are referencing is garbage.
It’s not actually salient to the discussion though. That’s the point.
How is the facts of the future not relevant to a discussion about the future? If those facts do not actually exist, using them to prove an argument makes your argument irrelevant. You do not have all the variables yet you are perfectly happy to spout made up “facts” that are proven wrong by your own references.
And you’re the guy arguing intellect here? Wow. The cap applies equally across the board to all teams, so it affects teams equally. No matter what the cap is next year, the Vikings will remain in the same relative cap position. Duh.
The cap does not in fact apply equally every year. I know it’s complicated, but that is unequivocally false and your statement that they are in the worst position of any team in the NFL is categorically false and easily proven, even if you take your short sighted, narrow, childish view of the 2026 cap.
As of today, the Vikings would actually have about $18-$20 million in cap space in 2026 since they still have about $18 million that would, as of today carry over to 2026. That would put them right in the middle of the pack in the NFL as things sit today.
Faulty logic. All teams have carry over, and many teams have more than we do in that regard, so no, it won’t change our relative position.
Actually it will. Lots of teams have little to none right now so it most definitely will have an effect. Thems the facts as of today.
You can spin and spin Bow… it applies equally. Teams move money around and structure and restructure contracts to accommodate it, but the bottom line is, they all have to honor it.
Try to ignore reality all you want, but no two teams have the same cap space any given year.
In regards to comp picks and total picks we had. To which you corrected nothing and instead decided to be a pretentious know it all dick and got in a braid dead arbitrary argument with the guy who runs the site. For being high up in the military you sure aren’t too bright. Learn some humility.
To be fair, I’m wrong more than I’m right.
We all are. Except NLVF – hes got POTUS on speed dial.
Says someone who’s never ever, met with the President.
And why or when would I ever want to do that? When I toured the White House? Would I want to check out his fantasy football team? I certainly wouldn’t use it to brag. Again, arrogance, ego, and self righteousness abound and you are too blind to see that it doen’t matter and no one cares.
Who cares? You slander me, and you say things that are meant as an insult. I point out that unlike me, you have never met with a President. Thus I feel your commentary is quite inane.
And you still dont realize that the fact you have, doesn’t make you special. And that I could not care less, it holds no weight to me.That being said if you were humble about anything in your life I’d inquire more and actually show some respect but seeing as thats not a mode in your brain, welp, here we are.
Except I have never claimed it made me special. It just puts my perspective in a far different, and more informed light on certain matters.
Ergo – I know more about everything than you because Iv shaken Trumps wrinkly hand. Thats how what you said comes off to an normal human being. Its called perception and implication. Reading between the lines is also an acquired skill I spose.
False assumption again son. And of course faulty logic as usual, used to achieve that false position.
Stay on the porch.
Go drink your Ensure and take a nap.
Ahhhh am I wearing you out? Who needs to drink and Ensure… Bow?
No wonder our Military has been falling apart the past 20 years.
Laughing… ever served? Ever faced real bullets, and RPG’s? No, but here you are saying stupid shit.
Sure will. That includes cap hits on contracts for players that will not be there in 26.
Exactly. Why is it like pulling teeth with this guy? I feel like im taking crazy pills while trying to have a civil conversation and one of the 3 Devils Advocate Brothers goes off on an all knowing tangent and what they say is facts and what everyone else says is blather. Goddamn.
I should probably stay out of this argument, but you should know by now, how the resident know it all operates.
It’s whatever, its passing time on a slow Friday a work lol
bryz the wiz has it locked down.
I’m sure, but saying we’re in good shape with cap, when we’re $26M in the hole, is like not accurate at all.
ok fair, i didn’t see that point.
i will be interested to see what they do to get that under control. extend players? cut players? wonder what that will look like
Aaron Jones is set to make 17 million next year, there’s no way they’re gonna keep him for that. There are several contracts like that, they backload them and able to cut them toward the end without any dead cat hit, or minimal.
Thank god they’re not killing cats…..🐈⬛
Oh, whoops. Using voice to text, my phone can’t hear good.
Yeah, me too. But KAM says after he’s done in the NFL, he wants to go back and be an economics professor. He’ll figure it out.
You’re splitting hairs and playing Devil Advocate. The roster is in good shape and the cap will be dealt with.
You asked to be corrected if you’re wrong. I did so, and $26M in the hole and the worst cap situation in the league is not “splitting hairs”.
“There will be a lot of restructuring going on, and maybe trading players or cutting them, next year”
So like every other year?
More so than usual wouldn’t you say? This is the worst cap situation we have ever had, I believe.
Could be a little more than usual. A couple of vets cut, Jones/Hitman, a couple of restructures and we will be fine.
It is a small concern for next year but not one I feel warrants the Doom posts that you think it does.
I haven’t made a single doom post. I said the comment that we’re “sitting pretty” next year with the cap, was incorrect.
I agree that your original reply was not a Doom post. But since then you keep driving the point that it is/will be a problem taking the issue into Doom Territory.
Just my opinion, you do you.
NLNVF does no wrong and is all knowing and wise. Him and Kirk are perfect GODS! Immune to criticism and all wrong doings.
I’m pretty impressed that he knows things about the 2026 NFL salary cap that the NFL doesn’t even know.
His own source proves him wrong, but all bow before the great NLNFF.
Thanks SoCal, I’m not saying anything about doom. Every single team, every year, has to meet the cap criteria. Thus we will do that. How we will do it is yet to be seen, and regardless, we’ll field a team. My point all along is just that someone posted we’re sitting pretty, and compared to the rest of the league, we’re not.
Helps when one dude doesn’t consume 20% of the cap.
Non sequitor argument… we don’t have one guy who consumes 20% of the cap, and we never have.
13% was close enough and was way above league average at the position. So, its a valid argument even though you dont like it.
Laughing… 13% and 20% are SO close…
Stay on the porch son.
Ignoring my point and playing the straw man, typical.
There you go being racist again too. Checking all the boxes today.
Your points are pretty much awry, and off by a considerable sum, son.
17% in 2021, I think.
Not close enough to 20%. Only one person is allowed to make up things and use hyperbole.
Interestingly enough, in 2025, 12 teams have players that consume over 20% of the teams annual cap.
Apparently that isn’t as big a problem as some here seem to think.
And the Vikings have never had anyone eclipse that amount BTW.
Yeah, those are star players and likely on mediocre teams.
Context is key with statistics.
Nonsense. Context is a waste of time.
Ah but how many of those were QBs that weren’t top 12 in their position? Id bet none.
What does that have to do with the money allocated to one player again???? Dak Prescott is one of those guys, BTW. Only one made it to the Super Bowl last year.
Everything. You dont pay one player that amount of the cap regardless of position, especially if they are considered average at their position. We’ve had this argument about 20,000 times, would think it would sink in once.
Funny you bring up DAK, he’s tit for tat the exact comparison to said player on another team.
I am just pointing out the reality of the argument son. If spending over 20% of the actual cap space is so dire in your mind, why are 12 teams doing that, even though only one has won a Super Bowl?
It’s also a fact that said player you are concerned with never came close to that level of cap hit, and was a franchise record setting player.
I’m genuinely convinced you’re a Russian bot at this point with how insane your takes are lol, its humorous while also sad.
That’s because you don’t understand reality and the English language, apparently.
He was totally worth that too – every penny 🙄
False, even by your elementary logic and your source, as of today, the Vikings do not have the least cap space of any NFL team in 2026. And, according to Spotrac, not even taking into account carry over, the Vikings are currently under the projected cap.
It depends, comp picks are offset, the Vikings should get some but where will depend on how much they spent vs how much the players they lost got
Most of the guys they signed won’t affect the comp formula since they were cuts and not just at the end of their contracts.
Yeah, that factors into the formula, but nobody really know how exactly all of it works
Packers get 3 no matter what, all others are arbitrarily chosen.
Spin the wheel!
So, it turns out Will Johnson has a knee injury of some sort. Didn’t KOC allude to the fact that they had some sort of immense faith in their training staff, and feel that a player with injury history doesn’t bother them?
Might be our second round pick if he’s there.
or KOC trusts his training staff enough that if they say “this injury isn’t one that will go away, we don’t want that”….
i don’t think his faith in their training staff means they are happy with every injury…
also we don’t have a 2nd round pick…
Laughing… oh crap… forgot about that… no second round pick. Duh. Thanks for going easy on me Freezey.
we might not even pick today, which is kind of boring, if we decide to trade #97
You need to be careful out there fishing this summer Brad.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/most-fatal-lightning-strikes-kill-100218322.html
Yikes. We usually get off the water when we see rain/storms coming in.
‘We usually get off the water when we see rain/storms coming in.’
Might want to make it ‘Always’ instead of ‘Usually’.
Good plan. Hard to do when they’re biting, though.
‘Hard to do when they’re biting’
From my experiences in NoDak the mosquitos will still be there when the storm passes.
Calling it, GBs WR is going to be a worthless tiny Gadget guy/speedster and thats it. Bust Town.
10 commandments autorec
I was thinking more Metallica
TO KILL THE FIRST BORN PHARAOHS SON!! IM CREEEEPING DEATTHHH!!!
well he certainly isn’t going to be a “#1 wr” type…
i didn’t mind that pick, it doesn’t scare me
I don’t think the golden glitz works with the shareholder type.
Morning all, played 9 holes of golf, and feel pretty good this morning. I went to bed about 9:45 last night, and woke up at 5:30. Fed the cats, cleaned the litter boxes for my wife (her usual duty as they are her cats not mine), made coffee and had some Jimmy Dean sausage and pancake sandwiches. I looked at the draft results and I’m good with our first pick. He has all the tangibles for sure. We’ll see what happens when he lines up against the best defensive lines in the world every week. The proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say.
I was pretty surprised to see Will Johnson still on the board after the first round though. I thought he would definitely be in the top 20 picks.
Will Johnson has health issues which is why he has dropped so far
Thanks Freezey. I didn’t know that. Makes sense now.
How many cats does your wife own?
Three. All from shelters. The oldest was scheduled to be euthanized the day we got him. He is such gentle soul, and a good cat. Couldn’t imagine why someone dumped him as a young cat out into the cold. He was found on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and was in terrible physical shape. The shelter worker said “nobody wants this cat”. Of course my wife immediately bonded with him, and he came home with us. She nursed him back to health, and was always a great personality. He’s at least 11 years old now, and slowing down a lot. Loves to watch golf with me on the bed for some reason.
The other two we picked up at a shelter last year. They were a pair, from some home that wasn’t fit to have them. They are as playful and energetic as they come, constantly chasing each other around. They often sleep on top of each other, and love getting into things. Toilet paper is a particular favorite toy, and we sometimes wake up to a roll totally destroyed in the living room.
love the versatility of our new guard. he played LT as well.
while unsexy, this was a great pick.
i’m curious to see how the rest of the draft goes, if we trade around at all or are happy with our 4 picks
Quality over Quantity this year with our current roster.
Short trade backs to get a couple extra picks would not bother me though.
We will see how it works out.
Not sure I like the China reference though.
Eh I like that name. Or maybe just St. Pauls Wall? The Winter Wall?
What about Walz’s wall?
Now THAT’S funny. Comment of the day!
Holy shit thats gold…bahaha Walz’s Funnel Cake Wall
not sure i like the full on crotch pics happening here….
Thanks for drawing our attention to that thirst trap freezey
So you went straight to checking out their crotches?
um how could you not. the pictures are LITERALLY THEIR CROTCHES
Noticed my wife was intently watching the half nekkid “cowboys” on “Ransom Canyon” starring that Minot dude. Came out of the bedroom this morning wearing jeans with top button undone, a cowboy hat, and nothing else.
she laughed…
not the reaction I was hoping for but it’ll do!
LOL…
I never once thought about their crotches on that pic.
i never said you had to think about them…
Theyre asserting their dominance

Adrian Peterson arrested for DWI this morning by the Minnesota state patrol in hennipen county.
At least this prison blotter is for a former Viking instead of Addison again.
For now. Addison likes to wait until Julyish for his shenanigans.
Sucks that he has ruined his post football life. I believe he is broke.
Blew a 0.14% at 3:30 AM. Stopped for speeding in Richfield. Did have enuf money to post bond. Duh…
Lol KFAN had him on stage for their coverage at the draft party and it was so awkward, Paul Allen tried to hug him and high five him and AD was having none of it. Im assuming he got plastered after that. Sad
I didn’t know that. Said he was picked up around 5 this morning.
Here, the first 3 minutes are cringy
I didn’t realize he still spends time in Minnesota.
Was in Minneapolis for a draft thingy the way it sounds. I’m guessing he was probably paid for it.
How DO you pull an elephant over?
Go all Legolas on them?
I love Legos
THAT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE!
Kipper must have the hots for Sanders. He could not shut up. They gotta get rid of him from these broadcasts
I wouldn’t miss him.
He must have some sort of licensing deal with Primetime to be that much in the tank for his son.
Yes, that was sickening.
@i was xpectin a tite end dammit@
Never said expected, actually the opposite. I said it would make sense and not be a surprising pick if Loveland made it to 24 but he went at 10.
Not picking a TE, DB or S at that position saved me from barfing. @even had a pail at the ready@ actually I just watched the pick this morning. Even more nauseating would have been a Shadeur…at least we get to play Loveland 2x/yr and see if he’s all that.
I really like our pick.
Loveland went to the Bears, huh?
I just learned that. I actually haven’t looked at any of the picks yet other than the Vikings. To the Google-Mobile!
I like our pick also, but would’ve been ok with either of the top two safeties at that spot.
Yeah, a stud safety would have worked for me too. The Hit Man pick worked out o.k. for us in round 1…What was that 20 years ago?
According to Wrenage, you missed a 0 or 2 on the end of that number.
Yup, can’t be gun shy because of the Cine pick. Ravens took Starks a couple spots after our pick. They now have him to pair with Hamilton. Ravens always seem to draft well.
They do. Their offense was strong last year pairing Lamar with King Henry in the backfield, but their defense needs some rebuilding. I see them bringing in some solid defensive players tonight. They have a second and third round pick, but then they have 8 more picks after that, including two fourths, and a fifth. They have four 6th round picks too. Rick would be having wet dreams.
Damn, I wish the vikes had a few of those picks.
The interesting thing is, they seem to find players every year that are solid, and contribute. They are always picking late, so they are somewhat conditioned to finding diamonds in the rough as it were.
Me too.
Your wish is my command…
That’s more like it! Summarizes my thoughts on taking a TE with any of our 4 picks.
With the 97th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select…. Elijah Arroyo, Tight End, University of Miami.
Good pick, IMHO.
Too fat
A little surprised KAM didn’t trade back with Giants, but I guess KAM wanted too much and stayed with his pick.
Long season – can never have too many food offensive lineman.
“Food offensive lineman’?
Got to love auto correct, it has gotten me too many times to count.
On the other hand, our offensive lines have been “food” for the opposing defense for years.
I was going to go with Offensive Lineman’ need a lot of food constantly to maintain all that beef.
Maybe the Giants did not feel the need to move up that far? Actually, to get Dart, they probably did not have to move up. Maybe they wanted that 5th year option
I agree that the NYG probably didn’t need to move up much. But Daboll is on the hot seat, so he has nothing to lose with draft picks. He doesn’t have the time.
Good for KAM for turning down the giants, if they offered us the same package. There is no way that you trade down 10 spots and totally out of the first round without getting the other teams 1st round pick the following year.
I hope the Vikings got this right. As GF said many rankings had him as the 2nd or 3rd best Guard. He needs to be good enough to start right away.
Man it would be great if we finally fixed the O Line.
With an Oline like this we might not need a mobile QB – hmmm…is there a big-armed, immobile, veteran QB available as insurance in case JJ doesn’t have it?
Only if Mr immobile wants to give a hometown discount.
And not cause drama because he isn’t the starter.
Rodgers?
Does this mean they might be able to run the ball in from the 2 this year?
Don’t you need the Tush-Push for that.
Gone Fishin’ is right. ESPN was absolutely sickening with their continual frothing over Sanders. My god, get over it, already.
Drama personality and family. ESPN loves drama.
Which is also why teams aren’t taking him I think.
Who wold want to buy into all that baggage.
As I said last night, Mel Kiper is annoying. And I don’t have anything personal against Sanders, but I have a feeling that that family will bring a lot of drama to a football team. Daddy Sanders will try to ingratiate himself into some sort of role with the team so that he can have a say in how baby Sanders is treated. They said that Daddy Sanders has been the only coach baby Sanders has every had.
To me that just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
This perfectly summarizes how I feel about Sanders. I don’t wish the kid anything bad (although a dose of humble pie would be good for him). I didn’t keep up with pre draft stuff as much as usual (still living in crazy town; latest = oldest grand broke both wrists at school), but I was already tired of all the Sanders hype.
Hey Kathy! Sorry to hear about the grand’s broken wrists. That must have been quite a tumble.
I stated above that I really don’t know much about Sanders attitude or personality. He might be like father, like son there. Dunno. I will say he has talent. No idea how far he’ll go in the pro’s.
Like with most QB’s, depends on where he goes. Needs a really good, strong coach. I think it would have really helped him to play for a different coach other than his Dad, at least in college. Have to learn new terminology, playbook, etc., and just another opinion in his ear besides Daddy.
True. The NFL game is far from the college game for QB’s especially.
Sorry to hear about the oldest grand. That sounds like it’s a rough time. My 4 year old grandson face planted onto a chair and broke out one of his front teeth and jammed the other front tooth up into the socket. Both of those sockets are broken. He will have to go through surgery now (they are going to remove the jammed tooth and I assume do something to the sockets) and when his adult teeth come in, he will need another surgery. That boy is crazy.
Oh, wow, that’s awful. At least Emma’s wrists will heal. She’s a trooper, but is disappointed that this will effect some of the planned fifth grade graduation events. Ironically, she broke one wrist in kindergarten and now both before graduating elementary school. She’s really thin, no meat on her bones.
That is disappointing when they have to miss things because of injury.
Hi Kathy, good to see you around. Sorry about the grandkid, what happened that both wrists were broken?
Hope you are well 🍷
Thanks for confirming my choice to watch the draft with the sound off was the right one.
My wife was reading a book while I was watching the draft. At one point she said, “Blah, blah, blah.” I agreed with her.
Donovan Jackson, huh?
Sure, why not? Bulk up that trench!
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
I like the Pick!
