Wow, the Wolves took a dump on the court for the first 3+ quarters, but I see they’re closing the gap a bit. As of this writing, the Warriors (I always think of the 80s song by Scandal when I hear that name) are up by 10, but it seems they’ve been up by 20+ for much of the game. I haven’t paid close attention, because whenever I looked at the TV, it was ugly.
I don’t enjoy watching the non-stop barrage of 3-pointers by both teams. The Warriors kinda’ specialize in shooting 3s, so I don’t get why the Wolves feel the need to play the same way. It seems the Wolves have a size and youth advantage, so why not use that to their advantage instead of launching long balls when they aren’t making them? I dunno, I’m no basketball expert, but my logic seems…….logical. Whatever, I hope the Wolves pull it out, you don’t want to drop one at home to start the series. I’ll find out tomorrow, I’m hitting the rack after I finish this.
Vikings News
The Vikings’ strength of schedule is ranked as the 5th-toughest in 2025, from Vikings.com. That’s okay, I think they had the 3rd toughest last year, and they managed to beat all but two teams. On Lunchbreak, Vikings.com tracks the Vikings movements in various post-draft power rankings. I think ranking teams before they play a game is dumb. I also think ranking draft picks before they play an NFL down is dumb. Therefore, I think post-draft power rankings are REALLY dumb.
NFL News
Roger Goodell and the NFL bribed pitched the D.C. Council on a new stadium deal, per the Washington Post.
Saints QB Derek Carr is still weighing whether to have shoulder surgery, per NFL.com. A decision is expected ‘sooner than later’. Uhhhhhhhh….., I’m pretty sure that sooner left the station several months ago.

A more recent video by the fellas on Unsubscribe discussing some ugly stuff happening in school systems. They’re discussing Buffalo in particular, but it happens elsewhere. I’m glad I live in ND, we have a pretty good school system up here, FTMP.

I’m liking this kid so far. He seems down to earth and from a good family. Could be untrue, but so far I like where it’s heading.
i can’t image how proud his parents must be, or any parents, who actually lovingly raised their child and want the absolute best for them, must be when they are in a situation like this.
i was super proud of my 5 year old for taking a grounder off his chest and making the out last night…like SUPER proud….

When he said ‘this is the best stadium I have ever seen’ at first I thought ‘how many has this kid seen’. Then I realized The Ohio St, and run to championship last year’. Yeah I figure he as seen quite a few over the last 4 years.

I enjoy watching Herrera’s shooting videos sometimes. I didn’t realize he was branching out into investigative reporting.
Brandon is friends with Angry Cops, Eli, Donut Operator and the Fat Electrician. Angry Cops is the guy who brought the Buffalo school stuff forward because he is still an active Buffalo detective. Nick, The Fat Electrician, is taking all of his history research skills, what they call “tism” and focusing it on the people attacking his friend. Their podcast is pretty good if you don’t mind a little military/law enforcement type crude humor.

I scored 53 points in a YMCA league basketball game once.
Your post reminded me to brag about that since that was maybe the most amazing game every played.

I was also on a championship intramural team in college. We won on a buzzer beater from half-court.
The team we played were guys that tried out for the SDSU men’s team, I believe. They started the game with only four players and still gave us all we could handle. They sprinted up the court and nailed pull-up threes like crazy.
About the last two minutes of the game was a battle of free throws. We’d hit both of ours, go up one. They’d hit both of theirs, go up one and so forth.
We were down one then with three seconds left. Inbounder throws a prayer pass to a guy a mid court. He plucks it out of the air from multiple defenders, takes one dribble, throws up a prayer and swish.
We swarmed the court. Even the other team was like…dang, that was pretty cool! I’ll never forget that feeling of joy.
It was especially sweet because high school basketball was a miserable experience. I was terrible and awkward. Felt sick before every practice and game. Finally had to quit. Mom was so mad at me, but I literally could not take it anymore. I guess it did put a chip on my shoulder to keep trying after high school, though. But man, I hated high school basketball.
I didn’t go out for high school basketball because of the coach. But when he subbed in for the Phy Ed teacher he would always have us play basketball and I would cook his players. It would piss him off to no end.
I didn’t go out for BB in HS because the season conflicted with Wrestling. I did compete on our team in the Army but only for 1 season, there was too much politics that took the fun out of it.
I grew up playing sports against my older brothers, and by older I mean from 5-16 years older. At 10 years old I was playing sports against men. And I was able to hold my own.
I didn’t play basketball in high school because I was too short and I sucked.
I was about to turn it on last night, saw the score on my phone in the second quarter, and decided to watch something else.
Supposedly for a 2026 3rd and pick swaps. He is on the last year of his rookie contract.

Wolves lose game 1, I agree with GF, it was an ugly 1st 3/4 of the game. It was nice to see them come alive in the 4th. Makes me excited for the series. Unfortunately Curry injured his hammy so he may not be available for the rest of the series. It does benefit the Wolves, but I prefer to beat a team when they are fully healthy.
