Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Today is Memorial Day, a day set aside to honor those who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. military. We owe them, and all military veterans, a debt of gratitude for preserving and protecting the freedom we often take for granted.
That Justin Jefferson Youth Football Camp was an absolute blast! Kiddo has a story put together, I’m going to help him with some minor touch-ups and edits, and we’ll have that live for you at some point this morning. Many kudos to J.J. and to all the coaches and staff who put that together, the kiddos had the time of their lives. The coaches were all from the Minneapolis area, and they did a magnificent job with a lot of kids over a long afternoon. I will do my best to post the event ahead of time next year, because the tickets sold out quickly.
Not much else out there, Aaron Rodgers still hasn’t signed anywhere. He also said that he will NOT be signing with the Saints. That’s funny, I still hate them over 2009 & bounty-gate, and I probably always will. I honestly think A-a-ron is holding out hope that he can sign with the Vikings, I think he wants to give one final middle finger to the Packers. Just my opinion.
Vikings News
Josh Metellus got a bit excited at the Timberwolves game and was issued a warning for excessive verbal abuse, per Sports Illustrated. Not sure what he said exactly, but it was enough to earn a warning. I like Metellus, been a fan of his since he came into the league.
The Sporting News thinks Jordan Addison is in line for a big payday when it’s his time for an extension in the next year or two. I thnk that’s one of the reasons that the Vikings will trade him.
NFL News
WR Brandin Cooks thinks it will be fun to watch the Saints’ QB competition between Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener, per NFL.com. It’s fun to watch car wrecks, too.
CBS Sports looks at a top extension candidate for every NFL team.
ESPN picks the most under-rated player in the league at each position.
Cardinals CB Sean Murphy-Bunting was placed on the non-football injury list and will miss the entire 2025 season, per ESPN. No details were provided regarding the injury, but the Cardinals were aware of the injury prior to last month’s draft.
Media Selection
I can’t remember if I shared this one yet, it’s really good. Enjoy!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
French President is a Beta Cuck.
I would come up with as many excuses as I could if that was me as well.
VP’s picture below reminds me there is nothing more stunning and moving than a military cemetery with the American Flags adorning all the gravesites. And then there’s the endless sea of white crosses.
I’m tempted to say it’s so beautiful but it’s so much more than that.
Agreed.
Also incredibly sad.
Just like the Vietnam Memorial.
I had a chance to go to it’s ‘Traveling Wall’ version and I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
I hate crying in public.
I may have mentioned last year at this time I spent two of my military years working in Army casualty. Doing that, I spent many a day in Arlington National and grew to have a reverence for the place – so much history.
Noted many, many times the strongest of people ‘crying in public’ and that was even more moving and humbling.
Completely understand your feelings about the wall.
So the USA won the World Championship in Hockey?
Evidently they beat Switzerland 1-0 in OT in Stockholm yesterday.
Pretty cool even if it is ‘only hockey’.

Never forget.
The Real Reason for Memorial Day.
Easy to forget sometimes due to all the sales and BBQs.
Kind of like Christmas and Easter that way.
Not even like watching a car wreck, unless those cars are the little plastic ride on toys for kids.

Brad, it is really cool to see the pics from the JJ football camp. Sounds like it was a great experience.
