Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Remember the song “California Dreamin” By Mamas and Papas”? You couldn’t pay me to live in that effing state.
The State is Beautiful. The people are mostly good. My family has roots there going back to the 1770s, the De Anza Expedition. Lots of friends and relatives who still live in the sate.
Even with all that I was driven out due to the politics, the cost and the shear stupidity of the government there.
Ws just listening to a show sawing basically the same. Great state but just has terrible governance. But then again, the people there elect those governing.
The Cities and the Liberal Elite elect most of those.
Rich, out of touch, virtue signaling and grifters voting themselves free stuff.
Using the National Guard in LA to keep the peace is TERRIBLE !!!!!!!
Except when they were used to remove unwelcomed visitors from Martha’s Vineyard.
An oldie but a goodie.
Keep it up Minnesota. California will be looking up to you soon.
Minnesota… setting the pace.
Lock her up!
ICE or DOJ does need to investigate, running for office as an illegal is illegal.
Not in Minnesota.
And redundant.
My simple plan would be to put out ads on every TV station, radio station, social media site, newspaper. For a month announce that for the next three months there will be roving check stations thrown up on the streets, highways, malls, schools. If you are detained at one of these spots (similar to border crossing), 4th amendment be damned. If you can’t provide proof of citizenship, a “green card”, or lawful student or work visa, you get fingerprinted and a notice to appear at the local police station within 72 hours with your documentation or ICE is going to come a calling.
Can you imagine the meltdown from immigration lawyers and judges? Fuck ’em.
Maybe she/he/it just identifies as an Illegal Immigrant??
😂😂😂
Right – they should go for it then.
Maybe watch Band of Brothers first though.
There’s supposedly Craigslist adds for up to $12,500 per week for “tough guys” to mobilize in LA and other cities.
Tough guys to do what?
I’ve been wondering about this. First, don’t people have to work. Who has time to be rioting all day and night.
Second, this seems far to organized. Lot more than a couple of guys sitting around drinking beer and decide to go riot some.
There’s big, organized money behind this.
Actually, it’s US tax dollars funneled through NGO groups who are leading these riots.
Yeah, pallets of bricks have just been showing up on side streets for these “spontaneous protests”.
Well good luck, most tough guys aren’t libitards….
You can’t Fix Stupid.
LOL
So what big news will we hear out of camp tomorrow?
As long as it is not about an injury they can report anything they want.
#nojinx
Probably that many Vikings are wearing pride s**t
OMG
On My Gear??
If that is what you want, No Kink Shaming.
Laughing… I would hate to hear we have the most woke team in the NFL… and Waltz loves it.
Why would the NFL – a very very manly brutally physical sport – be interested at all in Pride Month.
This isn’t sewing class or the like.
‘Why would the NFL be interested at all in Pride Month’
Money, it is always about money.
How does this garner them money?
Just asking.
Because conservatives will just say, “this is dumb, but whatever” and the lefties that run the cities the teams are based in will eat it up, but if it was the other way there would be an uproar. Well, probably not. It’s not like lefties have shown a propensity for violent overreaction to a false narrative.
As just one conservative, when they do shit like this, makes me think maybe I should spend couple of Sundays on the golf course. Screw the NFL – if that’s their politics, not mine.
But you still end up watching on Sunday, Thursday and Monday and the NFL knows that even if they don’t like it, people still watch.
Instead they just placate to the portion of the population that doesn’t watch football anyway.
I wouldn’t give it up completely, but could cut back and probably a fair amount.
I mean do I really want to watch a game and see “Black Lives Matter” in the end zone.
To this end, still haven’t had a Budweiser.
Same.
And, the NFL has not gotten a penny from me since December 2018.
Plenty of my time, but no money spent on swag or tickets.
JJ McCarthy looks like a 10 year vet.
I actually think that might be true. The media seems to be very enamored with him.
Because he’s the greatest thing since prime Tom Brady, duh.
Maybe, but I will say this. I took some time to watch a few of his games, including the National Championship game. I never saw him make a single throw I couldn’t have made in my day. Not one.
Wasn’t the forward pass illegal back then?
😀
Glad you’re on the mend…..
It wasn’t illegal, but it was very discouraged….I am a little younger than NLNV, but not much….and I can remember my college coach saying over and over
“there are 3 things that can happen when you call a passing play, and 2 of them are bad”.
I would say 2 are good, 3 are bad, and 2 are somewhat neutral, but I am splitting hairs…
That was the philosophy back in the day.
It definitely was. We had like 10 passing plays in the whole playbook.
My college team was the same, we played double TEs with a flanker and 2 RBs…our favorite play was off guard…as one of our 2 TEs I did manage to catch 1 pass per game….but if you couldn’t block you weren’t playing….
I was a pretty good passer, but didn’t have a cannon. I think my longest completion might have traveled 25 yards past the line of scrimmage. I could throw the ball a max of about 50 yards. I threw a lot of 7 yard outs, and 7 yard ins.
Laughing, no, but I did throw a TD behind my back once. Got criticized by the head coach for “showboating” in the locker room after the game for it. It was a completely reflexive move though. I was getting rushed hard from my right, and I instinctively threw the ball behind my back to the RB in the left flat. He caught it and ran 40 yards for a TD.
Better to play it down some.
Yep.
Hard for me to get too excited when he hasn’t played in a meaningful game yet.
Little.
Remember when Skolly (and others) said Jefferson would ONLY play with Kirko????
Does that include Nick Mullins who was only in for a couple of snaps and zero throws to JJ (WR)?
A better stat, and not that it matters given the intent of the post, but would be interesting to see JJ’s yard per game (other than rookie season) with Cousins compared to the other QB’s.
Telling Kirko NO !!!!
Navigating the drafts first round last year and getting JJ (QB) without giving up that 2nd 1st round pick.
That’s up there.
If Coach Flo thinks he can use him,
If KOC thinks he won’t be a locker room cancer.
If KAM believes he is worth whatever he would cost.
Then I would be ok with it.
Lots of ‘IF’s first though.
Who doesn’t love a giant donut?
Is that the doughnut Iron Man sits on in the second movie?
The Doughnut is an icon in LA.

Woke Logic is not Logical.
This is perfectly fine.
Newscum said this activity is just like a city when a pro sports team wins a world title.
Nothing to see here.
We have been all wrong about this.
Love it when the left and the media shows the rest of the US exactly who they are.
I wonder what they would say if it was their car that was burning?
Oh, look at those silly kids goofing around.
I wonder if mostly peaceful protesting is covered on my insurance?
I think there is usually a stipulation that says it is not.
Trump and ICE are evil SOB’s.
He’s just a “California Family Man”.
Burying pedophiles is just “gardening” then, right? Hypothetically of course.

I just learned Daewoo’s are actually Korean made. I had no idea.
The Daewoo gun has lived in my brain forever. My dad was once reading a Shotgun News mailer and one ad was selling Daewoos.
He said, “Maybe I should get a Daewoo…”
I have no idea why that memory has stuck in my brain with such force, but it did…
Daewoo is the parent company for Kia and Hyundai.
Sheriffs office we support sends in a new user request to get them setup with their state accounts and logins last Friday at 2pm ( I was off that day). Calls 5 minutes ago asking if its done and ready to go because that user starts TODAY. …no…no its not, I literally just looked at the ticket and the state works at the speed of, well, the state.
Well get about it. Support your local Sheriff.
Loved that movie.
I did, its in the states hands now, im just the middle man. Which is why im liking this job less and less. We’re also understaffed constantly now and im about to be fully over it.
Start your own company and begin the gouging to your benefit.
I dont think I could handle the stress or risk of running my own business. Watching my oldest sister attempt to do it with her clinic is enough of a deterrent. I just want a job where I can be specialized in what I actually like doing and be paid fairly for my experience and good work and not have to do mop up duty of be the guy in charge, is that too much to ask?
I hear yeah.
Might be par for the course for most workers though.
I spent my first 25 years dealing with that.
The last 15 years has been good though.
That makes me feel a little better at least
How long did the bag of popcorn last? (Picture in the mythical Words Up Top)
Under 2 days
😁 Great work!
Why would rational people not want murderers, drug dealers, and sex trafficers not extracted from the public domain?
Can’t believe what The Dakotas put up with these days!
Hit it on the head
The Narrative has to do with ‘Due Process’ and others swept up with the criminals when the raid goes down.
Those people are not so Rational as they are caught up in the Woke/Democrud/TDS mindset that is being pushed.
Thankfully it is only effecting ‘LiberalLand’ and the rest of the US can see the logic and supports it.
‘Due Process.’ What is the proper due process for someone who is. here illegally selling drugs?
In the long run (in my opinion) this is all about votes.
I seen something on facebook this weekend, it said “if you came here without due process, you should be sent back without due process”.
Works for me and I would say logical.
Per the Lefties Due Process is a full trial taking years.
With a tax payer funded public defendant.
Of course.
They are illegals everything must be given to them.
A- they are not rational
B- The ones pushing the narratives are liberal elites who aren’t actually affected by those people and keeping them in their districts/states helps them keep and grow political power since the government for some stupid reason counts illegal aliens in the census and uses that to divvy up the congressional seats and federal funding.
Exactly – this is all about funding, votes and power.
Aside from the census, if the Democrats thought these people were going to vote Republican, they’d all be thrown out tomorrow.
‘if the Democrats thought these people were going to vote Republican, they’d all be thrown out tomorrow’
Exactly.
jacksonvike, did you happen to see my birthday well wishes on saturday for you??
I did not, thank you very much, and I hope you had a wonderful birthday, whenever it was.
The Packers are releasing Jaire Alexander today. I wonder how long it will take for him to sign with another team. Maybe the Bears?
If we sign him (I hope we don’t), it better be real cheap. But it sounds like it was about Jerry Alexander being hurt a lot.
He’s certainly had his fair share of injuries. Still, a great defensive player though. KAM won’t spend the money for him in my opinion.
I think the Lions have a lot of cap space available right now.
I hear that he is a ‘head case’ which effects his worth.
Flo would know the truth about him I suspect. So if he ends up here then the stories are not that true of Flo believes he can deal with it.
Mini camp starts tomorrow. I expect we will get glowing reports from the media about how special, exciting, and terrific McCarthy is. I think he will be very good this year, but it’s still “wait and see” for me.
Minicamp prohibits full contact drills. Players can participate in 7-on-7s, 9-on-7s and 11-on-11s, but contact drills won’t be allowed until training camp in mid-July.
Jury duty today.
Never had the pleasure. I think I’m probably too old now.
I have been notified multiple times but never even made it to the courthouse, just had to check in daily to see if I had to report. If I did I suspect that my Law Enforcement Background would insure the defense would dismiss me.
That is definitely something nice to have in your back pocket. Just tell em in jury selection that you agree with whatever the officer said and did. My dad got out of jury duty for having a law enforcement officer as a kid.
Well whenever they ask you if you can be ‘impartial’ just say ‘No’. They can’t keep you after that.
With Law Enforcement they expect you will side with Law Enforcement and probably influence other jury members with knowledge and logic. The defense can’t have that.
I think I’d rather just say that I think cops are corrupt pigs, get on the jury and then convince them all that if the cop says the guy is guilty, then he’s guilty.
I have worked with cops that were corrupt pigs. Not many of them but there are always a few bad apples.
Don’t know I can lie well enough to get on a jury that way. Need more practice.
I am re-watching Prison Break, is there as much corruption among the correctional officers in real life as in the show?
I have not seen the show so I can’t compare.
The corruption I saw was mostly guards slacking off, shorting the inmates things that they are suppose to get or doing their best to get out of doing work.
Occasionally someone will do/bring in something for an inmate for $$ but those were rare. Most guards can’t stand most inmates but are willing to do the job.
I got called in a couple times and had to sit on one case.
It was an assault case. Girl said she got hit on the head with brass knuckles by guy. Guy said she got hit over the head with a bottle by another guy.
No one knew what to believe so guy got off with reasonable doubt.
They probably needed a medical expert that could distinguish between wounds, but that didn’t happen.
Yeah, big difference in wounds between a bottle and brass knuckles for sure. If that determination was done soon enough after the incident.
So basically she got hit over the head by the guy, but not sure what was used, so the guy gets off. Seems he would be guilty of assault no matter what he used, but I guess the indiscretion of what was used was enough to say maybe neither happened.
She said she got hit over the head by the guy on trial.
He said she got hit over the head by another guy with a bottle.
It happened at a party where everyone was drunk. Bottles were being thrown, etc.
No one involved was trustworthy, frankly.
I just got out of Jury duty last week.
I said I wear hearing aids and can’t hear very well, depending on the acoustics.
Two days later I got the excused absence letter.
I have been called to jury duty twice. However, both times at the courthouse my name did not get called so I have never served on a trial. The first time we lived a different county than where I worked, so I had over an hour drive to get back to work. The second time it was only about 5 minutes from the courthouse to work. My wife has never been called.
Lucky dog.
Happy Monday everyone,
Here is to a new week.
Good morning. Hope everything is going well for you.
SKOL!
Maybe you’re Elon Musk, now that you are no longer with the DOGE, you have time for us again.
Now THAT’s funny JV!
Welp, it’s Monday, and I’m ready to turn the page.
Had slight food poisoning most of last week, and I blame the wife. For whatever reason, if she sees an ethnic restaurant in a strip mall with a hand-lettered sign, she needs to eat there.
As for me, I’m done with food experimentation for life. Any time my wife picks an eatery, I’m ordering a Sprite. That’s it. I don’t care if it is a five-star McDonalds. I am ordering a Sprite. My wife has a sixth-sense for picking places that make me ill.
Then I had to sit with mom in the ER on Saturday. She will be fine, though. She’s just in her 80s. Stuff happens at that age.
🤮
Glad you and yore Mom are okay.
Thank you!
After taking food safety training, I will not eat at a local mom and pop restaurant, unless I am familiar with it. I cringe watching servers go about their business handling money and then scratch their face and then bring me my food, all without washing their hands.
We were very emphatic about washing hands regularly, and anytime you handled money or your phone.
Is it just me, or does it seem like restaurants are getting grosser and the food is getting worse?
Or maybe I just became a better cook. Eating out is not much of a treat to me anymore. I like a cheeseburger and fries, though.
My wife has an iron stomach, so she is pretty much never affected by food. I have a much weaker system in that department, though.
For The Teacher and I it is the opposite, most everything bothers her but years of Messhall food and ‘5 Second Rule’ has made my stomach oblivious to most issues.
And if I do react gas and IBS are just normal, everyday events at my age.
I go out to eat knowing that the food is not going to be as good as I can make it. What bothers me the most is if you get bad service.
Have you considered that your wife may be doing this intentionally?
How much life insurance do you carry?
Just ignore that almondy taste to the foods that shouldn’t taste like almonds.
Ha!!
Just a little GI cleanout. People pay for colonics, you know. Weird people, but still.
Question for GF….
Did you and kiddo finish that bag of popcorn in one night???

These people are just upgrading climate friendly vehicles here.
Happy Monday!

L.A. County taxes are outrageous, and the police department you pay for does nothing to protect you from this kind of insane violence. Might want to vote in elected officials with a better grasp of reality. You know, someone who will actually fight crime, instead of law enforcement.
LA needs to go under Singaporean rule for a bit. They would sort things out in no time.
You’re not wrong. I’ve been to Singapore a few times. You might think throwing away candy wrappers, drink cans or cigarette butts are no big deal, but in Singapore, it is. Littering and spitting in public is a heavily fined offense that can result in jail time.
Littering punishment for first-time offenders starts with a fine of SGD$500 and can go up to SGD$1,000. And if you’re caught spitting, you can be fined up to SGD$5,000.
If caught spitting, you’ll be made to wash the sidewalks and could even be jailed for up to three months.
Singapore is clean, and safe from abhorrent behavior.
I can confirm.
We went to Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore in 1987.
Even back then, Singapore was the cleanest and nicest of those three cities.
Maxine tried forcing her way into an ICE facility to save those poor souls that ICE is locking up with no due process.

And I agree, Calif can’t seem to get their heads out of the asses and vote logically.
