What a quiet, quiet day.
But hurrah for Israel for going after Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Somebody had to do it.

They were running out of time.
Iran was weeks away from building a nuke.
They have already said/promised that once they have one they are going to send it to Israel.

Oh Boy.
Practice ‘Highlights’.
Cool.

I understand that there is not much other football related content available.

If yall are having issues with apps and websites you normally use, there is a world wide Cloudfare outage currently happening so many many things will be down/slow. Just a heads up. Not even sure if this comment will post since this website might be hosted on there as well.

I’m going to take a nap after work, and no one is going to stop me.

And if your wife walks in naked with a sly smile on her face?

JJ McCarthy has a better chance at winning Rookie of the year.

If when I nap it messes up my sleep cycle and I can’t sleep well that night.
If I have had a ‘rough night’ and little sleep I might power nap for 1/2 hr or so.
Love me some naps but hate me some sleepless nights.

All depends how long and when you take them. If you find your self drifting off as soon as you stop moving and sit down regardless of time of day you probably have sleep apnea …aka my Dad.

i’m debating letting my kids watch LOTR. they are 10, 8 and 5, i THINK the 10 year old could handle it, but the younger boys might get a little frightened by a couple scenes….

i LOVE LOTR

my warning is the 5 year old for sure. My son wanted to see Star Wars episode 1 for his 7th birthday. My daughter was 5. The nightmares lasted weeks. She was devastated that Qui Gon Jinn was killed, and then burned.

Took my Nephews and some neighbor kids to see #3 or 4 (the Jar Jar Binks one) when it came out. They were about that age but crazy for Star Wars and were desperate to see it despite our warnings.
Yeah 5 min in they were screaming in terror at the loud sounds and huge screen. Pulled them out and had to sit thru ‘My Little Pony’ or something equally as bad.
I still tease them about how they were so scared of Star Wars so it was worth it.

I saw “Jaws” and some throwaway movie called “Grizzly” when I was 6 and 7 (for the latter). I definitely remember refusing to get in a bubblebath after watching Jaws and having nightmares after Grizzly.

Good way to toughen you up. I still can get jump scared pretty easy, though.

Being the second to youngest of 13 kids, I got to watch a lot of gory/scary movies at probably a way to young to watch age. I was probably 9/10 when I watched Friday the 13th parts 1-4 all in a row.

I was 9 when Jaws 3D came out, got to watch it in the theater. By then, I had already seen the first 2.

When I was 10-12 I borrowed one of my Moms Readers Digest Condensed Books to read. Jaws was the first story.
I made it past the first victim when a lady swimming felt a ‘tug’ on her leg, reached down and only found a bloody stump. Then the story jumped to them finding part of her body on the beach. The shoulders and head were all that were left.
Never got that out of my head, I don’t swim anywhere I can see the bottom.

First saw Jaws when I was 27 on a water skiing weekend on the Potomac River.
Next day, felt real ‘iffy’ jumping in the water to get pulled up.

The Anakin burning scene was pretty hard on our then 8 year old.

You could have them read the books first, then they would likely be interested in the movies after reading the books.

I would give them another couple years. And more than a couple for the 5 year old. They may also appreciate it more when they can understand it and some of the allegories better.

The 10 yr old, probably yes. The other two, I don’t think so.

I think if you want them to really appreciate the movies and storyline, have them wait.
