Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts

Wow, what a crazy week! The trip to Duluth was a lot of fun. We planned to spend a couple days at the water park, but the water park was closed the two days we were there, so we had to adjust our plans a bit & find other things to do while in Duluth. I did find some great cards and a Kevin Williams jersey at an antique store, so I consider the trip a success. Also, we hit a pretty beefy storm on the way home and kiddo got some great pictures of it.

I also might have found a replacement motor for my boat, it’s a 90 hp Mercury, same thing I have now, only newer.

  • To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Most likely. Levin is truly one of the great intellects on TV. Most of the pundits just parrot points made by politicians, or political organizations. I have difficulty watching the “on air talent” talk about subjects they know nothing about. I don’t watch much TV in that regard. I watch old movies and sports, and that’s about it.

Exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi says Iran is closer than ever to a regime change, a shift he believes the world must support as it will transform not only the country, but also help bring peace and stability to the broader Middle East.

“The regime is collapsing. This is the weakest it has ever been since coming to power,” Reza Pahlavi told Iran International. “Even their own insiders, from the military and intelligence sectors, are telling us it’s falling apart.”

No, they won’t attack other Muslim countries. Our bases are in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan etc. They risk an all out Middle East war on them.

They attacked Iraq, and went to war with them for 8 years. They lost. They won’t take on the entire Middle East. Trump’s recent visit cemented relationships with all those countries. They are going to stand with us. The Arabs hate Iranians, who are Persian as I have mentioned before. If Iran attacks an Arab Nations soil, they are going to face an Arab backlash.

Yes Iran has attacked Iraq before, had a war with them and lost it. Does that give them Allie Allie Oxen Free to continue to attack them despite your statements that ‘They won’t attack Muslim Countries’ and ‘If Iran attacks an Arab Nations soil, they are going to face an Arab backlash’?

So by Muslim countries I meant Arab Muslim Nation States. Really Kingdoms. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear enough on that. The bottom line is Iran has no Islamic Arab support, and they dare not bring their war with Israel to any of the Kingdoms.

Mayhaps I can clarify my question somewhat.
They have been attacking (by proxy) US bases in Iraq for years.
So can they not continue to do the same or is there an exception for Iraq due to their history.
Or does ‘not attack Arab Muslim Countries’ not include US troops/instalations inside those countries??

No longer New Vikings Fan
Reply to  SoCalMinnFan

Certainly militia’s have engineered small attacks on U.S. installations in Iraq over the years. What I’m referring to is a full scale attack in the here and now. Trump just finished establishing Trillions of dollars of new business investments from most of the Kingdoms in the middle East.

These Kingdoms don’t want Iran messing things up with their hate fueled war. They want Iran to go away as much as anyone else. You haven’t seen a single Arab Nation coming out in support of Iran.

Iran knows where they stand in the here and now. Those Kingdoms won’t stand for any Iranian led incursions or attacks on their soil.

We can’t know if it was ‘totally wiped out’. We can be sure that it was seriously damaged and Iran will be years/decades trying to put it back together if that is even possible buried the way it is.
Fallout I do know, that is what I did in the Army. The distance fallout travels is dependent on how far the winds can carry it. Since the Nuclear material is 100s of feet underground the wind is not taking it very far. Could there be some radiation leakage from the buried material? Sure, but it will be local and easily buried.

He gave them billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars too, trying to buy their cooperation. Trump ended all those programs. You’ll hear that Iran is strong, and this event will not stop them, etc. The reality is, they are crumbling. Their economy is sinking fast, and that is what will keep them in check.

I do think the Republican Guard will be doing things like kidnapping the families of independent reporters inside Iran to force them off the air. They had ‘experts’ on the Middle East on last night that said it was all about ‘showing strength and toughness’. Iran currently has been embarrassed between Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and the pounding that they have been taking for the last 10 days from the Israelis. No one in the region will take them seriously now so they have to try to retaliate or be a laughing stock.

Saturday salutations Skolos!

Heading to my buddy’s place to hide un the basement (it’s HOT 🥵 in the Star City right now) and have a Madden war on his absolutely massive 85 inch television. It’s unreal. Intend on showing the finest Madden QB play w/ JJ and the boys against his beloved Chicago Bears.

I’ll come at him from everywhere on Defense in typical B-Flo fashion and bring pressure from all levels while playing a lot of centerfield with Hitman. Designed packages on passing downs for Dallas Turner off the edge – his speed is a problem for edge protectors He can’t run the ball on me, never could. He can scramble though and I’ll bring Harry into the box a lot as a spy – allows me to create pressure if I’ve got the numbers and the mood strikes. I expect the mood to strike a lot.

I’ll whip the ball all around the yard – lot of 12 personnel where I can feed Hock & Oliver and move the chains, save for the occasional shot play on 1st down, 2nd and short. Lot of Pistol & Gun formations with multiple routes (and ALWAYS a bailout) and rollouts to utilize McCarthy’s legs and find clear throwing lanes to JJ & JA while using them as the occasional decoy to get a 1:1 matchup with Speedy on a LB playing out of his depth. I absolutely love playing w/this offense as the line is good, the weapons are elite and JJ has excellent arm strength and mobility.

Yes, I’ve been practicing. Yes, I’m a nerd. It’s my best good buddy (not named Goose) and it’s personal.

I’ll be doing all of this while stoned – I’ll hold for applause.

Stay cool Skolos. Stay safe. Stay sane.

Duluth per Brads ‘Mythical Words Up Top’.

‘Wow, what a crazy week! The trip to Duluth was a lot of fun. We planned to spend a couple days at the water park, but the water park was closed the two days we were there’

We have a funeral and a wedding this weekend. Not the same people. At least for now.

Our DIL is flying in for the funeral, so we are getting together with her and our other 2 kids for dinner.

Also, it will be a scorcher as it will be in the 90s with heat indexes over 100, which is unusual for up here.

Have a great weekend everyone!

When I officiated at my second son’s wedding, I pointed out to the crowd that in the minister manual the section about weddings is followed immediately by the section on funerals. That brought a big laugh to the crowd.

It would be great if we finally fixed the line. How many years have we complained about our interior line? When was the last time we had a top 5 offensive line?

Very true, seems like it has been forever since we had a good O-Line.

I am sure that with a little effort we can find something else to complain about. But it will feel strange

I’m sure PA but honestly, it looks like we finally have a really good line on both sides of the ball this year.

All starts in the trenches. We’ve been saying it for a long time.

Still not sure what to think of Kwesi overall (still hesitant to like him based on his first draft, tbh), but he is the one who went for fixing the OL with proven talent.

His work on getting out from underneath some bad contracts also has been nice.

I see the Broncos are listed as number one on this list. I considered Bo Nix the best QB of the 2024 rookie class, and he played pretty well. Obviously Jayden Daniels eclipsed everyone, but Nix might be able to have a pretty impressive sophomore year if that line is as good as advertised.

I liked Bo in the draft, figured if we missed out on JJ (QB) Bo would be a good back up, Jayden was too pricy to go up and get.
Too bad he got picked up by Anus Face, aka ButtHoleMouth.
